The Future Is Analog!!!.... One of the great things when u wander in NYC.. U find gems.. Jus happened to walk right passed the store and then I got drawn in like a moth to a flame..
Love digital, but damn.. Do i miss film.. Imma inspired again..
Almost all the lomo cameras in the world are here.. Photos, cameras, books.. *sigh* and film processing... There goes the paycheck..
MY NEW OBSESSION IS TO SHOP AT THIS STORE!! If you have never heard of LOMOGRAPHY.. chech this store all
IT'S SIMPLY AMAZING AND I DON'T USE THE WORD AMAZING OFTEN!!
ONE STOP SHOP.. YOU GET EVERYTHING YOU END FOR YOUR LOMOGRAPHY.
I'LL BE THE REGULAR SHOPPER HERE FOR SURE !!!
Just a different opinion for the person below who referred to the aloof hipster employees -- my experience when i went there was that the two people in the store, both young hip photogeeks, were quite helpful, obviously like the stuff they're selling, and were willing to chat with a novice lomographer for a good 20 minutes while i browsed and bought film and a cable release. it's a good place. and the layout of the store is very inviting, partially a showroom, "everything in its right place." i have not yet tried to develop anything here and probably won't, but i think it's a very nice store and they had what i wanted.
I've been a fan of Lomography ever since I got my first camera: a SuperSampler Pearl, this gem of a four-lensed camera that takes pictures 0.2 seconds apart. Some years later I'm the proud owner of a SuperSampler, a Pop9, three (!) Diana+ cameras, a Smena Symbol, a Fuji Instax Cheki 7S, and of course, a Lomo LC-A+.
What's great about this store is that their entire online inventory is available for consumption in a brick-and-mortar place. If you see something online, you can purchase it at their flagship. The guys who work there are awesome and know exactly what they're talking about -- it's also the Lomographic Society USA headquarters.
The best part? There's free wi-fi as you laze on their plush leather couches. You can choose from myriad films or get another camera for yourself.
This, for me, was one of the main reasons I went to New York! It was fabulous! I purchased the Smena 8m and finally picked up the Lomo LC-A+! Everyone in there was so nice! It was the best!
