My partner in crime & I stumbled upon Lomo Arigato outside of the 4100. We were thrown off:

Me: ooh, sushi!?
Crime Pal: Peruvian sushi?

No it's Peruvian starch based grub at its finest. They make 3 different dishes, and make them well, in meat lover & veggie versions.

Each dish is made to order; they  sautee that shizz up perfectly. We had the Peruvian fried rice dish, Chaufa, with chicken. Plus an Inca Kola= $8. To top it all off there's a spicy green cilantro lime sauce that adds the right amount of heat to one hell of a dish. Portions are so big, my Crime Pal and I were full for $4 a piece. Higher end cuisine at Depression, err, Recession (giggle) prices.  Delicioso!

Domo Arigato, Lomo Arigato!

So i have never had lomo saltado and was eager to try this truck. I told my peruvian co worker about this truck and he was eager to try. When he saw the line/price, he looked at me and said "not worth it for lomo saltado." Coming from a man who has eaten this dish a thousand times, i choose to forge ahead as this was still new to me.
I like the open window in the front which allows patrons to watch the flames shooting up under the wok. Cool stuff.
Food. I ordered the lomo saltado with tri tip. Lots of onions, but they were tasty and went well with the rice. The meat was under seasoned and extremely tough. But the fries were stellar. Served on their own they would have been deliciously crispy, but after soaking up all the juice from the meat and veggies they were amazingly juicy on the inside with still a little crisp on the edges. The side of chimichurri  type sauce is a nice addition to the whole dish, especially the bland meat.
I would be very interested to sample this dish elsewhere and see how they stack up, but Lomo Arigato is definitely going on the keeper list for food trucks.

I'm not a big fan of waiting in long lines and chasing a catering truck. Today a coworker told us that there was this truck sitting on the northeast corner of Sepulveda and Walnut in El Segundo (1.5 blocks from work). He said the food is Peruvian, so off we went to investigate. We were the first in line as they were setting up and spoke to the owner. They only have three items on their menu; Lomo Saltado, Chaufa and Tallarin Saltado. If you enjoy eating at Peruvian Restaurants like El Pollo Inka and El Rocoto, then you will enjoy their food. All three dishes were $7, $1 food can soda. My coworkers all agreed that the dishes were tasty and filling.

I liked the fact that you can actually watch them cook through the glass, so nothing is hidden as they prepare your food. Love the flames as they cook, nice show. They have the green sauce, but a little creamier, but good. I believe they are hooked up with twitter and facebook as they had the symbols on the truck. The other cool thing was the black buckets they had to sit on. Give them a try.

Having tried many of the new LA food trucks, I've been wanting to try Lomo Arigatou for a while.  It finally came to miracle mile, yay!  You can smell the food from this truck a block away!  Too bad there was a long line tho, boo.  I got the Lomo Saltado (there are only 3 things on the menu), which is meat, stirfried with lots of onions and french fries in a very flavorful sauce and comes with rice.  All the plates are $7.  I had beef, but I dont recall them asking me what kind of meat I wantd.  The menu said you can also order chicken.  The beef was kinda chewy.  They also give you this green sauce that was delicious!  Overall, very flavorful and filling.  I think I will try the spaghetti with chicken next time.  Also wish they have a more spicy red hot sauce, i think that would go very well with it.

Yesterday, while I was on Twitter instead of working, I saw a tweet from Lomo Arigato saying they were gonna be in El Segundo at Sepulveda & Walnut. Immediately I alerted the nerds, we absolutely HAD to have peruvian truck. It was parked right across the street from the office, and its way better than the boring salad I brownbagged.

I wasn't happy when one of my nerds tried to hate on the peruvian truck. "There should be no food truck EXCEPT the taco truck." I think he's still reeling from the LA's crackdown on taco trucks last year.  "It's either this or the plaza!" I said. The plaza at Sepulveda & Mariposa is the wooooorst, except San Sai. Anyway, homeboy shut it and we bounced to the peruvian truck.

The line wasn't that long, but the wait was. Which is to be expected when your food is cooked fresh. I don't mind waiting for that! I had the lomo saltado w/ tri tip and it was 2. Die. 4. Oh man. I'm reliving that dish in my mind right now. Oooooo. Aaaaaa. Mmmmm. I even liked the green sauce, which I typically don't care for when I eat at Peruvian restaurants. Lomo saltado + Inka Cola = Toi being a happy girl.

The nerds praised my choice of the peruvian truck for lunch. When you get a stamp of approval from nerds, you are GTG honey. Owwww.

Finally hit the streets!
If you see the truck, stop and eat.
$7 a dish and the portions hit the spot.

LOMO ARIGATO: This shit is real good.

I'm a supporter of all the LA food trucks!  VIVA TRUCKS!

And I tried Lomo Arigato today, and must say, pretty tasty!

I'd recommend the steak lomo saltado - the portion is good, the steak is tender, and the sauce is great!  Washed it all down with Inca Cola.

The only thing I wonder is if $8 is a little pricey compared to the other food trucks and what they sell, but.. I mean the quality of the food is pretty good, you can watch the chef cook the food, the flames and everything..  you're paying for something a little more intricate than a standard taco.. so yeah, it was worth it.

Lomo- Arigato-Mr. -Roboto...Okay I can't stop doing that. Anyway, I had the Lomo Saltado and The Man hooked me up with a free Peruvian Soda. I liked the Lomo, it was very good, however, it was a little salty for my taste. They load up on the rice too...it takes up 3/4 of the plate...no one needs that much rice. Also, there was maybe 5 pieces of meat, it was more like fries and onions. The green sauce was super yummy delicious though! I think the plate needs to be rethought a little. There was no line when I got there, just one customer eating. I think if they refine things a little, they will have a line around the block in no time. Very nice staff as well, there is much potential here.

I was the lucky girl last night when I walked out of Saints & Sinners and this beacon of deliciousness was parked outside. YUM!! I had the chicken & rice dish. I ate half last night and the rest is in the frig for tomorrow. The spicy green sauce that came with it was so good-- saved that for the leftovers, too.

Two words: GREEN SAUCE.

I would give up my firstborn for a lifetime supply of this green sauce. It's that good.

The food alone is amazing and the sauce just takes it to a whole other level.

I'm ready for their official roll out. Where my bib at?!

Lomo arigato, Mr. Roboto....sorry couldn't resist.  One of my food quests is to try the gourmet mobile food trucks, so Lomo Arigato was the next target.  I had the steak lomo saltado which was a stir fy of  slices of steak, tomatoes, potatoes, onions with a side of rice and some sauce. The dish was tasty.  The mister had the noodles with tofu, which was really greasy and a tad bit salty.  The food wasn't your typical roach coach cuisine, but at $8 a dish, it is a bit high for the type of food and the portions.  The steak lomo dish was actually the same as a Filipino dish, called bistec tagalog which I can get better quality, bigger portions, and pay less at a Filipino restaurant.  So, the food offered at this truck, doesn't really seem to be a fusion to me like the menu offerings at the Kogi truck. In other words, Lomo doesn't offer something different, nor is it really a bargain.  Also, I got the food to go, so we could eat at the park, but the tray it was served in was so thin, that it was all soggy by the time we started to eat.

Although I appreciate the effort and it was cool to try out, I don't think I will be hunting down this truck again.

I'm soooo excited to share this with you guys, but it's not even out yet.

A lucky few including myself was invited for the pre-launch event and seriously their food is amazing.

I can't wait for Lomo Arigato to get off their butts and start delivering their yummy goodness throughout LA.

Anyways, i tried a little bit of everything and it was all delicious. The green sauce stuff was AMAZING in fact i'm hoping they offer bottles of this stuff.... i can think of 1000 things it would taste good on.

I even had TOFU..........whaaa?...... and liked it! WHAAA?!

No... actually i loved it.

I really shouldn't publicly announce this newfound love, because my Vegetarian girlfriend might make me eat the stuff more often.

We all know a million places to get Japanese food... and we know just as many places to get Peruvian food... but you bring the two together, then make it mobile, and it's like double helping of awesome with awesome sauce on top.

On July 3rd, I was invited to a special preview of this newest foray into the asian fusion truck explosion currently working its way across the city of angels.

Now, I've had my fair share of Mexi-Asian food in various combinations before, but Lomo Arigato absolutely takes the proverbial cake. Yes, the pièce de résistance is definitely the lomo saltado. It's so good it makes you want to call your mom, invite her over, drench her in the delicious green sauce, then slap her in the face with a generous slab of lomo saltado. Mmm... the rice and noodle dishes were all delicious. I want to make sure that you understand the level of deliciousness involved here. It is DELICIOUS. In fact, it would be physically impossible for Lomo Arigato to achieve a higher plane of deliciousness. Jesus himself may (or may not) be able to microwave a burrito so hot, that he himself could not eat it... but deep in my heart I know he couldn't make lomo saltado this delicious. It is spoken.

I just need them to get off their butts and roll out like the Autobots to locations near me.

I was lucky enough to get the exclusive pre-launch tasting!   Everything I tried was amazing, the chicken with the special fries, the fried rice with the special green sauce and then the dishes with the noodles.

I couldn't stop eating it and now I am craving some more Lomo Arigato, I can't wait until I can visit the actual truck!  I will have to agree with Luy T. that the Tofu dish was actually really good, I didn't think I would like it at all.

I can't even really explain the green sauce, it's kinda tangy and spicy at the same time.  Honestly the stuff is amazing on the rice and even good with the noodles.  I think they might have to start bottling up that sauce and selling it, I'll even help market it if they sponsor me :)
