I had a pretty good dinner here. Service is pretty good and quick and the food and drinks are reasonably priced. We started off with an order of nachos with guacamole. Instead of simply being a guac dip, they came garnished with it and they were pretty good. We'd had a light lunch so we decided to then order plain chips with guacamole dip... not as good. The guacamole was pretty runny... I've had much better.

My main meal was the enchiladas. Ground beef wrapped up in a flour tortilla garnished with cheese and sauce. The beef was well-seasoned and they gave you plenty of food. It also came with a side of rice and refried beans, very good. Finished off with the fried ice cream which was the first time I've had it... not bad at all!

Pretty good option for tex-mex in Luquillo.

We came to Lolita's for dinner on Friday night and even at 9pm, there was a wait.  The wait was short but worth it b/c the food was good.  The bean soup is excellent and the tacos were good - we enjoyed the food and service was good.  Parking is a little rough but worth it if you want a good cheap meal.

5 stars because we ate here after our wedding in the clouds and right before kayaking in the bioluminescent bay.I love Mexican in any land.

    YES.
I visited here several times during our stay in Puerto Rico.  I did not believe it when friend and travel companion said that it would be some of the best "Mexican" food you will ever have, and that you will long for it once you are gone.  Well he managed to prove himself right.  We visited this place so much that on our last night there, a waiter came up to us and said that he remember us, that he had seen us every night.  The food was just delicious.  Everything there was, just simply delicious.  Just thinking about it now, I hunger for anything.
    And their margaritas? WHAT! Awesome!
I don't have too much to say because it really is something that you need to try for yourself.  I never believed it when I heard about it, but here I am ... sitting wishing for just a bit of a burrito ...or anything... from there.

Great nachos, enchiladas , and margaritas. We ate there 2 X during our stay. Make sure and get the $20 pitcher of margaritas without ice and save over $80. We made mistake of ordering them individually the first time. Food was above avg Tex Mex. Service very good. Salsa was exceptional and spiiiicy! Definite must if you have kids and need some Tex Mex.

My traveling partner is obsessed with Mexican food so we had to take a break from the rice and beans and pork to consume some tacos and such.

First great thing about this place is service. Everyone was really nice and welcoming and even the valet parking guy was smiley and helpful.

Second great thing was the ultimate nachos with chicken. YUM. This was not the kind of nachos where it's a pile of chips with stuff put on top. This was the kind of nachos were there are 12 chips laid out on the plate and each one has a scoop of chicken, beans, guac, and sour cream on it. Delicious.

For my entree I had the Ranchero shrimp burrito and that was okay. Too much cheese (you didn't that was possible right??) and the sauce kind of made me bleh by the time I got to the end of the burrito. My side of guac was kind of watery.

My friend got the beef chimichanga plate and I think he liked it. Not loved it but he finished it and was happy.

This place was full of locals and their families which was nice.

Note that trying to use addresses to find places on Route 3 is extremely difficult especially at night! There are no address numbers and they only tell you approx which km it's at... and there are not always km signs posted. Going east, this place is about 8-10 minutes driving past the entrance for El Yunque.  It is on the right hand side past Condom World (of course i noticed this... ha!) and before Wal-Mart.

We dined here on our first night staying at a resort in Rio Grande.  We were tired and edgy after flying 12 hours and not much seemed very interesting to eat at the resort.  I remembered that I had the Yelp application for my iPhone that uses GPS.  This was the ONLY listing that it found nearby. The ratings looked decent, so we decided to go for it.

Uh....well.....maybe it was the hour we visited, or just a bad night.  Sorry, but I can't figure out what the hype is all about with this one.   The "green" salsa had a good taste, but what Mexican restaurant doesn't serve chips?  Or, even ask if you'd like any?  I had some beef enchilada-type of things.  They tasted 'ok' until I realized that parts of the filling didn't look done...uh, know what I mean?  Soooo.....I decided to fill myself by finishing my rice and beans and burying the rest under the napkin.  My friend had some type of steak dish.  It looked delicious, but it's taste certainly didn't match appearance.  It had been way over-marinated in something that overpowered the flavor of the steak....AND....get this:  the server brought out a bottle of A-1 with the plate.  Perhaps that is standard practice at Western Sizzler, but a Mexican restaurant?

Service was very odd - the server didn't jump to answer any questions or offer any suggestions.  I also found it strange that some of the servers stood staring at us as we ate on the outdoor patio.    WTF??!

Eh...anyway, again - perhaps it was just a bad night.  Or, maybe I'm spoiled and high maintenance when it comes to Mexican - I live in Denver and I think we have some the best to be found anywhere.  If you decide to try it, keep in mind that it is EXTREMELY difficult to find on Route 3 at night as others have mentioned.  It really, truly is next door to "Condom World".  We kept turning around thinking we were missing it since there was another retail establishment that we passed along the way with "Condom" in the name...HA!

Solid Mexican food; salsa was a hit among the folks I was with.

I personally thought the food was ok; but nothing compared to what I can get   from easily half a dozen places in San Francisco's Mission District.

Great place.  I grew up in San Diego, cook Mexican and know it.  This place would hold up anywhere in Mexico or So Cal.  Great margaritas.  Authentic (if not completely superior) food.  Always busy with an international crowd.  Highly recommend.  NOTE:  Yelp and Google Maps directions are not even close to accurate.  Ask for directions.

So, so, so good! I was a little hesitant to go to a Mexican place, since I felt like I should be eating Puerto Rican food, but I am so glad I gave in. The drinks were tasty and strong ( I suggest the Tequila Sunrise) and the food was fresh and delicious. My husband got the steak fajita burrito with cheese sauce and it was fantastic. The waiters were super friendly too.

Awesome Mexican restaurant.  Right next to Condom World off PR 3.  Ignore the wanker valet and just park yourself.  Any outsider who has lived on the island for any length of time knows good restaurants are hard to come by.  This is one of the best the island has to offer.  If you want chips and salsa you have to order them separately.  Their cheese fondue with sausage is awesome.  Their green salsa rocks too.  I drown my chicken burrito in that stuff.  Their burritos are freaking huge by the way.  This place is one of the few things I actually miss about the island.  It was at this restaurant where I learned how good Bailey's, Grand Marnier, and Kahlua mix.

finally a decent meal. i was here for 5 days and this was only the second decent meal i've had. nothing special just basic mexican cuisine. not over priced either. it's right off highway 3 and it looks to be the spot to go on the weekend evenings. you wont get ripped off here and the service is average if not above. The salsa was bomb! definitely will go back

How anyone could think that Lolita's has good Mexican food is beyond me.  My husband and I were seated and served 2 empty upside down plates with green salsa.  Were there chips you may ask??? Nope, no chips, you have to pay for chips.  We then order the SUPER nachos which we thought would be enough of an appetizer for us, ha.... we got our nachos and I literally burst out laughing... there were a total of 12 chips on the plate!  Yes, 12.

Oh and the staff definitely does stare at you while you are eating out on the patio...pretty creepy.

I then get my entree of enchiladas... hmmm... tasted like airplane food with movie theater fake cheese all over it.  My hubby got the chimichanga which he devoured because he was starving.  It doesn't end there.

On the way home - our stomachs starting having there own conversation with eachother.  Needless to say we got back to the hotel and had to fight for the bathroom ALL night!!!!!!  I'm still not recovered the next day writing this... ABSOLUTELY WORST RESTAURANT EVER.
