One word: Martini!

Awesome martini bar, with simple yet seductive tastes.

Friends had the lemon drop, typical but still tastey. Another was the key lime. Can you say delish! So good and tastes exactly like a key lime pie! And finally was the Cantalope martini, with a small cantalope garnish. Nothing but great flavorable tastes. I also had the pinot, good as always.

Vibe: artsy, laid back, with a twist of urban. Love the vibe of this place, its a nice kick back to have start off the night , have a convo with friends, play a bit of pool, eat  food or have a nice evening with a significant other.

The prices arent too bad. About $11 for a martini and $6 for a glass of wine. But you get your money's worth! Valet is around $4. Make sure you have cash if you don't plan on spending more than $14. You have to spend $15 to use a credit card.

The bouncers are nice, the bartenders are as well. One waitress seemed a bit stressed or annoyed. Annoyed maybe because we were in her way. :( LOL

They also have a pool table its in the middle of the bar, in a somewhat awkward spot.

The crowd is decent, everyone just looking to have a good time. Fair warning, parking can be a pain so get valet, secondly it comes up fats and easily missed.

Lola's is LA Cute: It is a small, comfortable, little martini bar that if you have never been before can be very easily missed, just look for the valet sign...

They have the Best lychee martinis! Think enticing desserts and tasty spicy little dishes perfect for sharing and the routine gab sessions with the girls or weekly ritual with your Boyfriend.

Simple. Strong Drinks...a little artsy LA vibe, good stuff!

I've only been to Lola's during Happy Hour, but it was pretty good!  Extensive menu selection in a pretty welcoming space.

FOOD: Not bad at all.  Sweet potato fries, regular fries, the fruit and cheese plate and most of the pizzas are definitely worth ordering.  Unfortunately I'd skip out on most of the rest of the menu... it's pretty so-so.  What lacks in food is made up in drinks though... I had their seasonal pumpkin martini (DELISH), their dirty martini (YUM) and their blood orange martini (EASILY my favorite).  Not a bad wine selection either.

AMBIENCE: A very sexy albeit small space.  My party of 5 did eventually more than double in size over the 2 hour Happy Hour though, and we were all able to squish in the couch/lounge area. As for service...I always either get a dude who can barely speak English or a hot chick who's kinda snooty.  Something to work on..

PRICES: Not bad, esp for WeHo.  I'd guestimate $5-$7 an appetizer, probably the same price range for drinks. I like Cafe LaBoheme's prices better, and they tend to be more generous with their portions.

PARKING: Valet only unless you can find parking on the side streets around the way (HINT: Romaine normally has plenty of free parking.  Check the signs)

All in all, Cafe La Boheme is still my first choice for Happy Hour in WeHo, but I'd go back to Lola's to try the Mac n Cheese... I do love me some good Mac n Cheese...

I like martinis.  And I like happy hour.  And Lola's has a wonderful combination of the two.

Lola's is one of those great places where you can meet a group of friends for happy hour, have a romantic evening with a significant other, or celebrate a special occasion with friends and family.

Let's start with the martinis.  They are good, strong, and Lola's has an extensive martini list that should please anybody's palette.  From your basic martini, to fruit infused martinis, and dessert martinis, these martinis are good, and as many people have been saying, STRONG.  Definitely worth the $12.  ($5 on select martinis during happy hour).

I was pretty impressed with the happy hour menu as well - for $5.50 you can choose among a variety of delicious appetizers including yummy Chicken Satay, Calamari Fritto Misto, Sweet Potato Fries (totally addicting), and mini pizzas.

Lola's dinner menu is also quite good.  I'm a big fan of the Seasame Crusted Rare Tuna Salad and and the Stir Fried Veggies and Chicken.  A few of my friends also recommended the Burger and the Crab Cakes.

Prices can be a little steep but the Happy Hour menu is a definite steal.  I'll definitely be coming back.

My sister planned her birthday dinner party here on a Friday night.  Surprisingly, there's tons of parking available on the street at meters.  Or, you can valet your amongst the loud Ferraris.

We ordered tons of food to share:
Calamari Fritto Misto
Dungeness Crab Cakes
Beef Stroganoff
Parmesan-Crusted Halibut
Mac & Cheese
Lola's Warm Chocolate Bread Pudding

There were some more things but I don't remember--whoops!

I LOVED the calamari and the two dipping sauces, cocktail and garlic tar tar were both really good.  There were also fried bay scallops and shrimp.

My sister really enjoyed both the crab cakes and halibut.

The beef stroganoff was pretty delicious.  The pasta was perfectly cooked with the right amount of tenderness and firmess.  Also, the beef had the best consistency and the perfect seasoning.

Again, I really really love desserts.  That is definitely my thing.  But I was highly disappointed in the bread pudding because it just tasted like mush.

i came here about 3 years ago to hang out with some of my girl friends, but never made it out ever since.  I really like the ambiance however it does  get very crowded..  almost too crowded at one point.  The drinks are strong as a martini should be, but they are delicious!  i cant wait to try the mac and cheese next time!!!

The Martinis here are AWESOME!!! but be careful... they are strong.

I've been here twice.  The both times I came here, I had 2 martinis that got me pretty wasted. The Martini's are about $12 each and their selections are insane~

My favorite seats are the couches.  We somehow always manage to snatch the best spot in the house.  It's comfortable, if you go with about 8 people its perfect.

Swanky restaurant, yet oddly has a mixture of a club atmosphere with a slight hint of sports bar (with the ONE large screen on the back wall by the bar).
I've tried to go on dates here and although the food is wonderful and the drink is up to par.... the loud music that just completely consumes the air makes it difficult to really have a conversation.
There is a dress code (which was accidentally discovered one night) which makes it a great place to bring someone you want to impress, but don't expect the evening to be guided by your intentions. This place somehow takes on a mind of it's own and will for sure take the reigns on your evening's adventures.

Great place to meet for a cocktail or two maybe even an appetizer, but I'd have a back-up plan in mind.

How do you cure the break-up blues?  With lots and lots of alcohol. . .well, for me, that means only half of a dirty martini and another half of a cosmo.  This, my friends, was enough to set me teetering dangerously on my 3"+ heels.

In fact, I was so happy, I made up with the dude who endangered me and my friend's life at a taco truck throw down.  In fact I was SO inebriated, I even gave the dude a hug and a pardon!  (That made for awkward "hi's" and *waves* in future chance meetings at school. . .)

Add to this a bar review for school (meaning I'm amongst my peers and future colleagues and associates) and you have one hell of a night!  All I can say is, I didn't throw up or make THAT much of a fool of myself (or maybe I did) but it was a ton of fun.  Their cosmos are deeelicious.  The dirty martinis. . .let's just say they're dirrty.

Going to Lola's is like giving your phone number to a cute guy you just met.  It seems fun, but you just never know how it's going to turn out.  Lola's can be a great happy hour all depending if the bar is ready for customers, where you sit, and what you server you get.

You see, Lola's happy hour starts at 5:30pm, the same time the establishment opens.  While not a problem at other places, Lola's sometimes isn't completely ready for service.  On one visit, we couldn't order a certain martini because the fruit or something wasn't ready.  We were too confused to investigate further.  On another occasion, the appetizer choices were limited because the others weren't ready.  On yet another occasion, our friend was told she could not sit in the back room because it wasn't ready.  It's pretty certain to say that the staff should arrive about 30 minutes or so prior to opening.

Why do we keep going back?  If the bar is ready to go, all is well... depending on your seat and server.  We need to start writing down the names of all the good servers, as well as their schedules.  When it's good at Lola's, it's good. The bartenders never disappoint.  The large $5 martinis at happy hour are always great.

This place is great for groups.  It's always a great place when needing to catch up with a bunch of people.  There's no problem parking, there's no fuss to get in, and you can always find your party.

To the first-date couple sitting on the leopard love seat: Sorry my party eventually drove you guys away, but really that was the only area that would accommodate us. There are plenty of other small nooks that you guys could hole yourselves up in, and I'm glad you finally figured that out and left so we could monopolize that spot. *shrug*

To management: While I can say that I enjoy your music selections, I can't say I enjoy the deafening volume. Please just turn it down a notch. It's not cute yelling and screaming over the sound system to have a conversation. Less cute when I leave with a sore throat, ringing ears, and a raging headache.

To the bartenders: If I actually liked alcohol, you would be my favorite people. You guys pour some strong ones. The girls in my group could barely sip their martinis without their eyes widening each time and panicking. But the guys, they were your biggest fans. I was impressed by the large glasses of Glen, not overflowing with ice. I hope they tipped you generously.

Lastly to my friends who came to wish me a happy birthday: "Love you, mean it!" xo

The best martini menu on the west side! The varieties seem endless and the atmosphere is always fun. It's true...you never know what to expect. It's the perfect starting point for a girls out. It can get a lil noisy so I wouldn't recommend it for a first date or any situation that actually requires you to really pay attention to the other person and hear what they're saying.

I have been going here for a long long long time.  Let me tell you, if you haven't had their Sour Apple Martini, with their giant apple disc just marinating in Martini Goodness, you haven't lived!

This is a TRUE Martini Bar.  Anything you can dream, they have done - from Red Bull Martinis (aka the Starf***er, yes, that's the name), to a Lychee Martini (sweeeet!), to a Chocolate Martini with real chocolate, or a Jolly Rancher.

Add to this, Lola's is an awesome date spot OR single's scene.  You can do it either way.  The relic Spanish Decor is romantic in its dim light.  The menu is wonderful, though the steak specials can get pricey so look out (price isn't listed).  I suggest the French Onion Soup, Grilled Chicken and Pasta Dishes, and MOST OF ALL the CHOCOLATE BREAD PUDDING!  Let that go straight to your thighs and enjoy the creamy goodness the whole way down!

I liked Lola's. The people working there are nice, the place is nice and everyone seemed happy with their drinks. Their specialties seem to be martinis. They also have beer (not listed on the menu) and other drinks. I tried the lemonade, which was very refreshing on an August night.

The calamari appetizer was decent and a good size to share. I liked that they had lemon and two different dipping sauces for the calamari on the plate. One is a marinara sauce, the other a type of tartar sauce.

Food and drink were served quickly. I found it interesting that Lola's posted a notice in the bathroom. They have unique framed photos in it that women kept stealing. They had to put security devices on the photos. If you want a print of one of the photos, ask one of the staff and they will make an arrangement for you.

NOTE: I still like Lola's and would recommend going there for dessert anytime, however this is more of a public service message...

I went back to Lola's last Saturday evening for dessert after having gone to dinner down the street, and let me just tell you something was VERY off.  First of all, as a woman, I try by best not to make judgment calls on other women's looks, style of dress, etc., but on this particular night, I am pretty sure that the most benevolent folks would have stirred in their seats. I was there around 8:30-9, and every woman there was ATROCIOUS! I am talking about FUGLY!  Have you ever watched the Cougar Den on SNL?  It was THAT BAD!!! I think it wouldn't have been that bad, but some of these women chose to wear MIDRIFFS with all kind of surprises hanging out!!! Don't even get me started on the other women who were donning their 80's spandex mini's - Lord help us all..

I seriously almost upchucked the Nobu I had for dinner, and wasn't able to down more than a bite of dessert...

The happy-hour here is the best. A decently sized martini is 5 bucks and the appetizers, while a touch pricy, are ample and tasty.

The best part about this place is the fact that all the bartenders and wait staff apparently lack the most basic math skills. My girlfriend and I had 4 martinis and a plate of calamari, (all excellent, by the way). I guess they don't teach math at acting school, because 5x4+12 equals 15 bucks here.

Stay ig'nant and you've got a customer for life!

Who loves martinis? I do! Went to Lola's for a friends birthday and new job celebration. We got there a little before the man of the hour did so we decided to grub a little. The food was average, nothing to write home about.

The drinks on the other hand, fantastic. Not only are the names of the drinks pretty interesting (Star F**ker & Bust My Effen Cherry) they're also pretty tasty. If you're not a fan of martinis have no fear! There's plenty of beer and other liquors to keep you lubricated through the night.

The only low point was how packed the place gets. It was pretty hard for us to wrangle up tables, and the noise volume inside can get pretty deafening. The bar area gets pretty crowded and with the bustle of people drinks do get spilled so you have to watch out for the slick floor.

Overall I had a great time. But word of advice, watch out for those martinis! They sure do creep up on you!

Lolas is a nice place, hard to find for some.

$5 dollar valet
"Lola's 10 for $10" like their Apple Martini (which is strong and yummy) The apple floating in it is very yummy too.

For a light weight like me the bartender made me a good Malibu Pineapple... I didn't taste the alcohol and I still got a Asian glow. :( hehe.

The Lemon Pucker was SUPER strong but I enjoyed the sugar on the rim.

Peach Martini, very good, looks sort of like a cloudy soup. Big chunk of canned peach inside as well.

Finding a table on a Saturday night is difficult, but it happens.

There are many cute boys just looking at girls. :) Good selection of hot chicks! Yay!

LOVED this place! Had dinner here the last night we were in LA and it was probably the best place we ate the entire trip!  The food tasted extra good (I think because we were eating @ a bunch of fast food type places).

We started off with the hummus and edamame as appetizers. Both were delicious, but I especially like that they put a little twist to their edamame and coat it with teriyaki sauce.

I ordered the Seared Ahi Tuna salad (rare) and it was yummy! Tuna was perfect, dressing was light and complimented the dish... it was simply refreshing to my tummy. =)

I was told that they were known for their martini's so, of course, I had to try one or three (lol). I ended up ordering the "Star Fucker" (haha).. I only thought it was fitting!  It was a very tastey, fruity martini... YUMM!

Definitely would come here again when I make a trip back to LA.

I haven't been here in years and came last night with a date.  Started off with drinks.  I had the Star F*cker Martini (red bull and a little bit of cranberry - Yum!) which went down so smoothly.  :)  We shared our food.  He ordered the roasted chicken with polenta cake & I had the parmesan crusted halibut on a bed of spinach & mashed potatoes.  Both were yummy and excellent!

The biggest problem was the noise level.  It can get fairly loud when you have groups in the dining room area.  We had to yell at each other to talk.  It's a great place to mingle and have drinks though.  The bar area is not really big and there's a pool table in another room.  It's less pretentious than the Hollywood scene.  But there's still plenty of pretty people.  There's also a long martini list with so many concoctions it would make your head spin, which is awesome.

The place is a bit pricey.  I don't know exactly how much was spent on our bill (my guess - $70) but the last time I came here it wasn't cheap either.  All in all...I would still return here.  Hopefully, I'm not paying the bill.  :)

OMG! This is going to be my new favorite hangout.

My friend and I showed up last night for happy hour. Martini's are $5!!!! Such an awesome deal!! :D We had an appletini and a raspberry martini. They were super YUMMY and strong.

Unlike other places, the bartenders here were super courteous! :)  I've been to places were they act like complete douches... but not here! The bartender near the door was really nice when I kept asking him about a super yummy looking martini he was making (its a chocolate martini btw.. which i will make sure to try next time :) )

Theres a random mix of ppl here, college kids, working professionals and an older crowd.

Overall, coming here was an awesome experience, nice music, nice atmosphere, great happy hour (5:30-7:30 everyday), nice and hot bartenders and yummy drinks! :)

Next time I'm here, I will try the "starf*cker" and the chocolate martini.

Lola's on Fairfax and Santa Monica is an upscale bar and restaurant catering to a hip, young professional clientele. This dimly lit, spacious venue is one of the few posh bars in Hollywood to not feel uber-trendy or self consciously chic. In fact, the rod iron trim and warm, faux painted walls have a distinctly 90's vibe...

Came here with a friend to try their late-night dinner. I'm surprised the kitchen is open as late as it is yet the dining area was empty around 10pm.

The place itself is very lounge-y, with a pool table, two bars, lots of seating and good music. Parking can be a bit tight, but if you're lucky or don't mind valet parking it shouldn't be that much of a problem.  The doorman was asking if we were on some kind of list, so we gave him a weird look and told him we had dinner reservations. He let us walk right in, so I'm not sure why the doorman has a list in the first place...

The martinis here were delicious though! I had a caramel apple martini and star f*cker martini which were both good. My friend had a pear martini which tasted more like pure alcohol than a good mixed drink. Each martini is $10 on a weeknight, so if I come back it'll definitely be to either only drink or only eat.

The food was okay, we had calamari and split two different pasta dishes. In total, we wracked up a bill of $80 for two people, and we both only had 2 drinks, one appetizer, two main meals, and a side dish. So definitely be selective in your pickings. BUT the sweet potato fries were good!

A great place to chill with a few friends or come out on a date night. I wouldn't bring a large group though unless you reserve an area, even though there's a lot of seating, space can get tight pretty quickly. Next time I'll try to bring a larger group to enjoy the place, it looks like it can be very fun or very dull depending on your crowd.

After a whirlwind day of driving from San Diego, to Laguna, to Venice, to downtown LA....picking up 2 relatives and driving offensively like a  taxi driver on around 7 different freeways in a 3 hour time period (all with traffic, of course), I visited Lola's for my cousin's graduation dinner.  I gotta say plainly and bluntly: disappointing.

Maybe this place isn't equipped to handle large groups...I don't know.  Maybe for the regular dinner of 2 or 4 it works out fine. But in any case the meal had some serious faults that caused stress on my aunt and uncle, and it shouldn't have been that way.  They messed up the party count for the meal (12 when it was really 16) and that just caused a spiral of issues.  Not enough seats for everyone when they showed up, not enough place settings, not enough preordered appetizers...and pulling teeth the entire way to get them.   The wait staff did their best but organization is key to a successful group meal and this was chaos.

Added to this was my disappointing entree.  The New York steak has good flavor (I thought the sauce was wonderful) but what's the point if you give me a lousy cut of meat?  That was by far the worse steak I've had.  It resembled more of a prime rib with a ratio of 50/50 fat and good meat and was so tough it was nearly impossible to cut into.  I've never had to work so hard for food.

I know this place is known for their specialty martini's and that aspect worked out fine.  Everyone seemed to really enjoy their cocktails with the strawberry fields and cantaloupe being most popular.  I got the Lola Martini (can never go wrong with the signature) and that was a perfect pick for me with good quality vodka and light flavor that didn't make it too sweet.

So anyway...this place seems like a fun place to grab a drink but I'd think twice about a large dinner party or the New York steak.

Best happy hour and best bang for your buck in LA. The happy hour martinis are only $5 and they have a yummy list of appetizers for $5.50. Besides the happy hour choices, they have a list of 50 million martinis. These drinks are so strong, you will probably be done after two.

($23 per person includes martini, beer or champagne of the little lady's choosing, salad or soup, and one of a list of 5 palate pleasing entrees)  The portions were hefty and lip-smackingly delicious. I went out on a leggy limb and tried the Pumpkin Martini (I found it to be way too heavy, creamy and spiced for my taste), but I can imagine how someone looking for a dessert in liquid form might like it.  My girlfriend had the Spiced Pear Martini (definitely the way to go because it was the perfect blend of fresh fruit and cinnamon pizzaz). I had the vegetable stir fry with chicken (two pieces), which was hearty, teriyake-y and came with its own mini pool of brown rice, and my lovely dining companion had the salmon, accompanied by shrimp, mushrooms and spinach. We both had a lot left on our plate because Lola was way too generous! We did opt for the bread pudding dessert ($2 extra), and what it lacked in size (tiny) it made up for in taste. The strawberries served alongside were so fresh...umnumnumnum.

All in all, Lola broke one seriously delicious leg during this evening of high kicks and high fives.

YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got there around 6 and it was pretty empty.  But after 30 minutes, the place started filling up.  I got the caramel apple martini and MY GOODNESS IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. The aftertaste and lingering aromas of caramel left me wanting more- and it was a BIG MARTINI, too.  I was going to order another one, but I thought i should try something new, so i tried the Ruby Tuesday which was AMAZING AS WELL!!!! Vodka, Chambord, and pineapple juice- this had an amazing aftertaste and "after-smell" as well.
I will DEFINITELY BE GOING BACK. MMMMMM!!!! I thought i was over sweet cocktails, but NOPE, I GUESS NOT!!! :)

Looks like this is a converted house, with a bar section and a restaurant.  Strangely enough, it smelled like Korean BBQ in the middle of the place, although I'm pretty sure this isn't the right place for that.

The inside was classy and decorated well, and there was an aston martin parked outside affirming it's status.  They only put 3 ice cubes in my scotch, and it's a little crowded by the front, but those are small complaints.  I'll come back again next time I stumble upon the Fairfax district.

PS.  That is not a taco place kitty corner from Lola's, that is a hot dog place that serves tacos.  Don't get your hopes up.

Redux: $5 martini deals, expensive non-$5 martinis, drinks are TASTY!, food is decent, bartenders are adorable and sweet.

But the servers and the hostesses? Most of them can suck it. I know that it's stressful when it gets busy, and that a lot of people can be really rude, but some of the servers and hostesses need a lesson on basic decency, like deigning to look at someone trying to talk to you

One great thing about Lola's is the crowd-- it's a great mix.

We had dinner here to celebrate my friend's 30th birthday. The service was really good. Considering that we had a party of 9 people, they were very attentive to all our needs. The waiter keeps coming around to check up on us.

The food itself was okay. I had the angel hair pasta with lobster, and husband had the salmon with shrimp. His portion seems a bit sparse. Since I didn't have much appetite, he ended up finishing my food. I really don't see anything special with the food.

I also had the apple martini because it was supposed to be the world's famous martini. I thought it was good, but not great. I'm a vodka tonic drinker myself, so I'm not that big on sweet drinks. But I thought it was decent.

At the end, the bill was split up between all the people in the party (minus the birthday girl), and it came out to be $54 per person. Damn!!!

Now, being a starving grad student, $54 per person is a lot of money. I think the only place I'm willingly to spend $54 per person is at Tan Cang or a great omakase place. But definitely not this type of place. I would at most spend $50 per couple.

When we were leaving the place, the restaurant was PACKED with people dancing with nice clothing and thick make up. Definitely NOT my scenery. Looks like they wont be missing me. I wouldn't come back here again.

Lola's is an interesting bar in West Hollywood. It lacks the attitude of a lot of other bars and clubs but still has a sense of being a meat market in one respect, along with being populated by some friendly people. The drinks don't disappoint and you have your choice of two bars, one by the entrance and the other in the back, with a dining area in sandwiched by the bars.

Of the times I've gone, I've only ordered appetizers such as the sweet potato french fries that were tasty (more places should offer this).

"Sorry fellas. We're not letting any Asians in tonight." Is what Z the doorman would always say to us as we approached. He'd pause a beat for our playful reaction. Give us that million dollar smile which I'm sure he gets all the ladies with. Pats us on the back and lets us in disregarding any line that they may have that night. That's my boy! He's good peoples.

Lola's is one of our stops. Whether it'd be to start the night or end the night, a stop here would be quintessential part of our nightly outings. We are friendly with the bartenders and they always... ALWAYS hook it up. Definitely a great place to bring a date as well.
