I found Lofte's Pizza to be pretty good. I opted for a create your own pizza with garlic oil and procuitto. It was good. Thin crust and wood fired. The cheese and topping tasted fresh and the pizza dough was definitely made from scratch.
The service was good. Not many patrons in the restaurant so that helped. Overall, it was good pizza for a reasonable price. I will certainly return if I visit the area again. -

I stopped by here because I was staying next door.
When I walked in I got the impression the place was a different business and a new owner moved in and slapped some "bar" signs on the walls.
So it's kind of in between a local dive bar and a trendy sports bar, yet not really giving you the feeling of either... Almost a cold impersonal feel to the place.
The food was OK. Not great, but OK. I asked the waitress (who was friendly) about the Elk burger, and she said she liked the Buffalo burger better, so I took her suggestion. And since I had a really good Elk burger the night before at Lake Tahoe, it sounded right. ...sigh... the burger was over cooked and tasteless and thin, the waffle frys were over-salted, I asked no onion (because I'm allergic) and sure enough there where onions...
my waitress was friendly & polite, but not really personable
food: meh, ok, not great
atmosphere: fail -

This place is decent enough, but I am still laughing at the bartender getting perturbed that I didn't memorize UT laws regarding pitcher of beer purchases and consumption. I walked up and got a pitcher of Polygamy Porter for the table and he made a big production out of it. I had to talk him into the fact it wasn't for me, it was for the table and I needed to take at least 4 pint glasses to make him happy. Otherwise, this is a fine place to sit and have a beer or two - but don't whip out a straw and start draining your pitcher.

So there are two Lofte's right next to each other. This is for the Pizza joint, not the bar. Anywho....
Meh is perfect as it was just "Meh" We were the only people in there. When I joked "where is everyone?" Our waiter said "oh an hour ago, it was crazy in here" Hmmmm...I don't think so. It was Friday night and empty. When people came in, they quickly left. Coulda been the "Polygamy Palace" poster framed on the wall. Note to owner: As funny as it might be to see those T-shirts at the airport, the poster is probably killing your biz since you are in Utah...DUH? I'm not a Mormon, so I dunno, but I'm just sayin...
The Pizza ended up being OK but the waiter sucked! How can you disappear and no refills when we-were-the-only-people-in-here??? I think he was delivering food to the bar next door. Who knows?
We only came because it's next door to our hotel so safe to say..never again.Listed in: Big Love

Lofte's is a lot like Calzone: plain on the outside, but a complete surprise inside. The authentic, wood-fired pizza oven is the first thing to catch your eye, along with two, floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace facades outfitted with flat panel televisions, inset high above. Score one star.
Here, they offer a complete menu that's sure to please the average Utahn, but it's obvious that their area of expertise is the pizza. And so, I follow my self-imposed rule of restaurant ordering: pick the specialty and go with what the house prepares best. Here, it's pizza.
The waitress promises that my eight inch, thin crust pizza will be served within ten minutes and she doesn't disappoint. Add star number two. She makes sure that I'm well hydrated, too--checking back often and refilling my soft drink without being asked. I like that. Tack on a third star for good service.
As for the pizza, the ingredients tasted fresh. The cheese was real. The toppings were tasty. The crust was crispy and light, too, nicely finished by that flaming oven. New York, Chicago, or Sicilian style? Uh, let's just say it was Utah style, but better than fodder found at the usual lineup of pizza joints that populate the strip. A fourth star for that.
However, I'm withholding a fifth star for Lofte's because I'm not completely convinced of the overall value. The house salad was tasty, but for the price, it could have been quite a bit larger. Be prepared to spend a little more cash on lunch than you normally would, since a small pizza, salad, and drink will set you back about $15, without the tip.
So, if your amigos at work are the typical brown-baggers who clip coupons and watch every penny, leave them back at the office--please. For then, you won't have to hear their bitching all afternoon about "how much it cost" to eat lunch ... -

Stopped by during an extended layover.
The food (pizza) was decent, the drinks were decent.
I walked out full and hammered. Pricey? Yes...but after a long day of delayed flights, etc...who cares?
Would I go back? Probably....I hear there are other places to check out in SLC.
Cheers,

If you are stranded at the Raddison across the street Lofte's is a good substitution for the Raddison bar (which doesn't exist).
They have a good selection of beer it's cold and the staff is friendly!
I didn't try the food.
