Review from Bekah H.
Sellersville, PA
I stay here quite often - 1 to 4 times a year usually - and I only live about an hour outside of the city. You can not beat the location. The club levels are very nice with a comfortable, stocked library and a lounge with multiple televisions. It's easy to relax here and is far from the noises of the city. The views are always great from the rooms and lounges. The beds and comforters are incredible, like laying on a cloud... I wish every time I could take them home with me.
However, it is either hit or miss with the customer service. I've gotten knowledgeable, friendly staff (Claudia) and I've gotten rude, uncaring employees (Stephanie). Do NOT go to their bar/restaurant. I find it incredibly overpriced and the staff are downright heartless, judgmental and rude. $11 for a shot... I don't think so. Try out something else in the area since there's plenty to choose from.
I will (hopefully) enjoy future stays here, but will never attend the bar/restaurant again. -

I just checked into the Loews with a confirmation email and reservation for a King Deluxe room. They gave me and my husband a room with a Queen bed. Very upset and disappointed, b/c the hotel said there was nothing they could do. We will never stay at a Loews again. They didn't even offer to make it up to us in anyway. We used to have such find memories of this hotel...we got engaged here...
Also, when we arrived there was noone to open the doors to the lobby for us or help us with our luggage. There was music blaring from the bar/restaurant which was not welcomed. You could barely hear the receptionist, who by the way wasn't behind the desk to help us when we first arrived.
There are many other more attractive hotels in the area and I suggest you stay at one of them. -
Review from Amy B.
The Loews is a renovated bank, and still boasts many of the original details of the building, including an old-timey bank vault and beautiful marble throughout. I love the Art Deco styling of the building.
I've stayed here as well as attended conference proceedings here. I liked my room very much when I stayed. It had a lovely view of the city, and was comfortable and quiet. My only complaint about my stay in the hotel would be that room service was particularly overpriced, even by hotel standards.
As a conference venue, the Loews is A-OK. I did find some of the room layouts awkward for the presentations, but that may be due to the conference organizers as much as the hotel. And of course, it was overly air-conditioned, but this is typical of any conference setting. The only aspect of the conference that I would hold against Loews specifically is the lack of clear lobby signage; it took a while to find my conference, with two others (!) taking place simultaneously in the hotel.
I would recommend the Loews for your downtown Philadelphia stay, especially if you can finagle a deal on the rate.Listed in: Philadelphia Phreedom

I Eek! at writing one star reviews. But this quick trip away deserves it.
Checked in late on a Thursday, no problems. Strangely, though, front desk had zero recommendations on a solid sports bar. Interesting for such a sports-crazy town.
The worst of it came the next morning when getting ready for the day.
The inside shower curtain liner had black smudges/specks that have to be either mold/mildew, dirt or a Sharpie. Gross. Mental note made to not get near the curtain or touch any walls. Easy enough.
Then came the drying portion. Pull off a hand towel from the rack and *fortunately* open before touching/using only to see vomit all over the towel.
Beeline to the phone. Informed them of the Vomit Towel and the Questionable Curtain, which received a few "I'm so sorry"'s and "We'll be right up"'s.
When we got back later that day, the offending Vomit Towel was replaced, but with two towels that weren't freshly folded, and thus were not used. Unfortunately the curtain remained.
Pillows were a bust. No free WiFi/Internet Connection. *Generally* functional TV.
Not what I expect in a "Luxury" King room. I'll stick with the old reliable brands and known chains.
The pluses: Keurig machine and good coffee; location. -

Great original International Style Hotel. They say Art Deco but...
Central in town. On Market Street. Walking to good restaurants and close to subway station. 6 or so blocks from Independence Square.
Great pool. Was lucky enough to be there on the third Thursday of the month to see Jeff Bradshaw play in the lobby bar. He was fantastic. That alone was worth it.
Pricey room service. Amenities were fine. Nothing special. They charge for internet which I hate. Windows don't open. Kuerig Coffee maker in room and a $5.50 bottle of water (really?). -
Review from Maria T.
I love this hotel!! The staff is amazing, the location is perfect, and the beds are amazingly comfortable. I stayed for about a week for work and ran a conference here. This is my go to hotel when planning conferences. I loved every minute of it. The meeting space is perfect and it's really cool how they still have the old bank door in their big ballroom- added a nice touch to our meeting. The bar/lounge down stairs was very convenient especially after a long day at work. The food is food- really good!! The location was perfect- I went out one night and explored the city with a friend and he took me to about 5 different places- all walking distance- from a tapas place to a hookah bar ending at a French restaurant.
All in all definitely check out this hotel for a meeting or some where to stay when visiting the city. I'm back in Philadelphia tomorrow so I look forward to stopping by the hotel bar/ lounge. -

As one of my co-workers put it, I am going to travel based on where the Loews are! First rate hotel with excellent staff. The room was nicely appointed.
They had a refrig with a mini bar but would bring up a separate refrig so you can put your own food in free of charge.
View of Philly was great. Lounge service awesome. Concierge knew their stuff without even looking it up.
Only minus is internet is not free in your room only in the lobby. -

We stayed here for a wedding and were pleased. Location is great, right down town. Room was decently sized, clean and nicely appointed. Friendly and attentive staff. Great views of the city. They did a nice job keeping the PFSF decor. Ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant and they had scrapple on the menu. Yum! The only thing keeping this review from a 5 star rating was the lack of free internet in the room (free Internet in the lobby) and the toilet, a low flow variety, tended to clog. I'd stay here again.

I'm so torn about whether this place is "Yay!" or "Whoohoo!" No really, this is the dilemma of the century.
The Loews Hotel's beds are so damn comfy and soft. And the comforters are exactly like fluffy comforters that didn't ever de-fluff-i-tize that my parents had that were too expensive for the children to burrow under. The pillows are plentiful, and the mattresses are oh-so-soft. Sleeping in one of these beds make you feel like you're getting a gigantic hug. It's so nice.
Bathrobes are provided so if you want to fill like Daddy Warbucks or Madame Butterfly, you can. The complementary shampoos and conditioners are larger than travel size, and aren't overly perfumed.
THE VIEWS OF THE CITY ARE SPECTACULAR. YOUR ROOM WILL BE WELL EQUIPPED WITH WINDOWS. THERE ARE SO MANY WINDOWS OFFERING A PANORAMA OF DOWN TOWN PHILLY AND IT'S SO GORGEOUS AT SUNSET...AT NIGHTTIME...AND DURING THE DAY. (The only time it's annoying is at 5:30 a.m. on a Sunday.)
So why just four stars if I seem to be fanning after this hotel so much? It's because I've yet to stay in a room equipped with both a shower and a bath tub. (But tubs are just so nice and huge.) -

Fort Lauderdale, FL
Got this hotel for $81 on Priceline, so in that aspect, I gave this place 4 stars . . . I would never pay the $250 price tag for this spot though.
First off . . . the location is IDEAL. Right next to the Hard Rock and the Reading Terminal on Market and 12th. They have a Train station right down the block on 13th and Market There is a 7-11 down the street. Everything you need is right there. Make sure you use the entrance on Market as the one on 12th is for cars wanting to valet park.
They also had a nice little hotel restaurant that STAYED packed. $5 Happy Hour that I didn't get to enjoy but it seemed like it was popping.
The hotel definitely wants to be 4 star . . . hell they don't let you take your bags up or down, they force you to have somebody take them for you . . . meaning more tips need to be given out. Valet Parking was $44 bucks . . . geez, I went down the block on Walnut and 12th and spent $19 for overnight parking . . . who needs Valet Parking with in and out when everywhere you go in Philly you have to pay for parking. I used that extra money saved for cabs. The bed is soft and comfy, they offer robes, the bathroom is nice, they even have Keurig coffee machines in the room . . . and I must say they help make a good cup of coffee. Good to see a Fridge in the room. The views are real spectacular as well
I mean this definitely was a nice hotel. You can tell there is a little bit of snobbiness amongst some of the employees but nothing too noticeable. Didn't like how they tend to hand off stuff after getting tips and then the next person is expecting a tip . . . whatever. Plenty of elevators . . . . I definitely wouldn't be opposed to staying here again but it would be in the hands of Priceline. -

South Pasadena, CA
For as much as they charge per night, they really need to keep the rooms cleaner. Our shower floor did not look as clean as it should have plus there was a lot of lime buildup on half the door but not on the other half so clearly someone could have cleaned it. They also did not vaccum our room during the 9 day stay there. The Lowes sign out front was not on once the whole time we were there. The front desk help was not friendly aside from the morning/early afternoon shift. The "B" shift did not smile nor were they friendly when we had questions. They barely made eye contact and looked annoyed when asked questions.
I know this is an older hotel, but come on.
As per most high end hotels, they do not have free wifi in the rooms unless you pay $10.99 for it. Otherwise you have to stick around the lobby for free wifi. Fortunately there was a Starbucks is right across the street and also around the corner if you really needed to do work on the internet.
I will not come back to this hotel if I can help it.
The only plus side to it was that it was close to everything (walking distance) I needed to be near (Septa, Patco, food). And Solefood, the restaurant downstairs, made decent drinks. -
Review from Diana C.
We got a great deal for Loews through Priceline's Name Your Own Price (we got it for $80, before tax - searched 4 stars in Downtown Philadelphia).
Now I gotta say, it was just missing that "oomph" that makes it fall short of a 4 star hotel in terms of decor. I just didn't get the "wow" factor from it so I'm not surprised we ended up with this hotel when we priced $80 on priceline.
However, I will say that the hotel is in a really great location, very convenient to a lot of places in Philadelphia.
Their downfall was when both my boyfriend and I felt itching sensations on our bodies after spending 20 minutes under the sheets in bed watching tv. At first I thought it was just me, but when it was the both of us we knew something was up.
I don't care, but that is unacceptable for any hotel - and definitely NOT okay for a so-called 4 star hotel. They didn't even seem all the concerned when we called in. They changed rooms for us, after we asked, but they really should have been the ones to offer more than that.
I won't be back, and save yourself the bug bites/bed bugs. -

Absolute terrible customer service at this hotel. I cannot comment on the rooms, as they were not able to honor my PAID in-full in advance hotel reservation. We used Priceline to reserve a room at this hotel and upon our arrival were told they were overbooked and unable to give us a room. They said they would relocate us directly across the street at a Marriott; however, when we went across the street, we were told we were at the wrong hotel. I confirmed three times with the Loews Hotel employee that the hotel was directly ACROSS THE STREET. THe hotel they actually relocated us at, and finding it after walking around downtown Philly, was actually several blocks away. The Loews offered no sort of compensation or transportation, and just said there was nothing they could do. I contacted their customer service twice, and have not received a response back in almost a week, not even an acknowledgement of my e-mail.
I contacted Priceline and they were able to resolve the issue. Thankful for them, because obviously the Loews does not care. -

Excellent location, smack dab in downtown. Entrance to the hotel is not exactly glamorous, I had the feeling I might get mugged entering the dark foyer before hooking a left into a nice lobby. The room was really nice, except the toilet did not flush as a little surprise bonus upon its first usage. Not exactly what you expect from a 4 star hotel. The view was beautiful, up on the 26th floor. The pool, sauna, and facilities on the 5th floor were huge, and very impressive.
This last part, which is my own dumb-ass fault, is regarding leaving my sonic-air toothbrush in the room after checking out. I left it there, without a shadow of a doubt, but when I called the hotel later on, and connected to security/lost & found to ask if they had it, they did not. I guess the cleaning service is selling my aged, electronic, used toothbrush on the black market for a solid 20 bones. It's my own fault, but I still feel disappointed.
3 stars for location, room view, and facilities. Loss of 2 stars for dark entrance to hotel, broken toilet, and a sub-par lost & found service. -
Review from Brian L.
The views are quite nice in this hotel.
But for 4 or 5 stars or whatever they're touting, this isn't it. The only thing that would garner that many stars is the view. The room is quite spartan, like any holiday inn I've stayed at. The fabric on the sheets were nice though. But for the most part, I was not impressed by the room at all. It was very basic, which wasn't what I was expecting. I'll look to stay somewhere else in the future. -

Ugh, I've been trying to write this forever! Every time I sit down to write it I just get even more irritated with my stay. So, I'm going to be quick with this or I'll never finish a review again in my life!
"Meh. I've experienced better" is right. I've experienced better from Holiday Inn Express and that's not to denigrate Holiday Inn Express . I was really pretty disappointed with this hotel. First of all... Loews has a great reputation (as far as I had heard) and second, I paid a lot. When I pay a lot I do expect more from my stay. These are a list of the things I don't expect when spending over a thousand dollars.
1.) Being checked into a room I didn't reserve. I am by myself, I don't want a room with two double beds, nor did I reserve one. Come on!
2.) Being given a room with big paint (or maybe Spackle) splotches on the walls in several locations.
3.) Routinely being given false information on business location and hours by the concierge team.
4.) Furniture that has seen it's day come and go. Drawers that are partially of hinges so that it's always getting caught on other drawers, etc...
5.) Wi-fi - inaccessible.
6.) I was there for a conference and on several occasions they changed the location of a session but did not put up any sort of signage as to it's new location.
7.) Additionally, in most ever session it was a struggle to hear what the presenters were saying because the audio for the neighboring rooms were bleeding in.
8.) Bad information about the airport shuttle... luckily I was so ready to get out of that place that I was way ahead of schedule. If it was a typical trip I probably would have missed my flight.
I understand that this might not look like much but put them all together (and believe me, there's was more) and you just get an crap experience. I know that I will never stay there again if I'm ever in Philadelphia and now I'm not sure I'd stay at a Lowe's in a different location if given the choice. -

The hotel itself (I.e. The room, common areas and general ambiance) was very nice, however I did not have a very good experience. I was in town for a wedding, and expecting that, like any other hotel, I would be able to check in by about 2pm, 3 at the latest. I also expected that if I showed up early, that I would be more likely to be able to check in early. I was wrong. It was almost 5pm before I was able to check in, and they almost lost the bags that I had left with the porter while I was waiting.
When I was sent a survey about my stay, I answered very honestly. I was offered a free night stay, but never took them up on the offer because I had no need to go back to Philadelphia at the time.
I am sure that if I gave the hotel another chance, I could have a much better experience, but until that time comes, I can't say that I would recommend this hotel. -

After five days of living large in one of the nicest hotels in Philly, I have little that I can complain about. Let me count the ways I love this hotel:
1. The Loews is in a frickin' historical landmark! Once the home to the Philly Savings Fund Bank, the Loews happens to be housed in the first international style skyscraper in the USA. Everything from the exterior details to the gilded elevators makes me feel like I'm hotelin' in style.
2. Beautiful rooms and views. My corner room on the 23rd floor gave me a sweeping southern view of Center City and an eastern vista of the Delaware River. (I forgot how pretty and stark the city can be in the winter.) The room might've been small, but the bed was comfy, and the room had a flat-panel tv. Oh -- and the bathroom was gorgeous. Love the walk-in shower with the freebie bamboo/lemongrass-scented soaps. (Yeah, I'm a sucker for things like that.)
3. Free hot apple cider in the lobby. Helpful when it's sub-freezing outside.
4. The cutie-patootie server in the lounge who didn't care that I used the free wifi without ordering any food or drinks.
5. The perfect location, smack in the middle of downtown, across the street from both the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Reading Terminal Market. A short walk to pretty much anything and everything downtown has to offer.
I have have *one* little thing to complain about -- the useless online booking system. I request an "early check-in", meaning the room should be ready in the morning instead of the usual 3pm check-in. Then I arrive as planned, and they say they have no record of me requesting an early check-in. Then I show them a print-out of my room reservation, complete with the early check-in request, which elicits only shrugs and confused looks and results in me waiting six extra hours to be able to shower and change. Damn them all.
But, other than that... a lovely hotel experience.Listed in: Fillerdelphia

Great hotel. Allows pets and really close to everything (downtown). Expensive parking but overall the place was really nice and our hotel room was awesome! The beds were so comfortable and fluffy and the room was super clean. Oh Wi-Fi is not free you have to pay for it. Overall, I would definitely come back.

Warrenton, VA
The thing that I liked most about this hotel is that it's centrally located and the staff is very nice. We came here with our two young daughters and the staff was very sweet to them. They made us feel special, which is what I expect at a 4 star hotel.
The hotel was a savings and loan corporation at one time, in fact, a safe door is still visible in the main lobby. The main lobby itself is nice and modern, however, sparse. The upper floors have a modern if not slightly outdated feel but are clean crisp looking. We stayed on the 31st floor which had a large sitting lounge with flat screen TV where a continental breakfast was served complete with muffins, bagels, jam, cream cheese, smoked salmon, coffee, and juice. The room had a wonderful view of the skyline, was spacious, had an old HDTV, and a nice sized bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and I slept very well both nights we were there.
As a side, we decided that our 2 yr old daughter wasn't going to sleep well with us in bed because she's a light sleeper so we asked the staff for a roll-away bed. They got one to our room right away and told us that it would be $25/night. We were fine with that, however, upon checkout, we saw that they had waved the roll-away bed charge. Very nice.
If you're going to do 'touristy' stuff, this hotel's location is perfect. Walk 6 block east and you're in the historic district. Walk 2 blocks north and you're at the Reading Terminal Market (reviewed).
Highly recommended! -

I was surprisingly disappointed.
I arrived around 3:15-3:20, check in time is 3pm, to be told that my room was not available. I was assured that as soon as a room was available I would be given a call. I was not too upset, until 2 hours later I had to return to the front desk to check on my room. I was told that "Oh your room is ready." I never received the call and literally walked around center city for 2 hours just wasting time only to find out that the room had been ready and I was just not notified. Completely and utterly unacceptable. When I voiced my anger to the young lady she only said "Well were short staffed on housekeeping staff," as if this would make me feel better that I arrived at the time they stipulated and was still too early and had to wait for nearly 2 hours for a room.
The hotel itself was beautiful, no majors complaints there.
The best part of my stay was the valet staff. Very efficient and pleasant to deal with. Thumbs up to them!
Overall, wouldn't recommend based on my experience. I have to say that if I hadn't had the 2 hour wait for the room, I'd have given a better review. -

We got a great deal on Priceline for one night at this hotel. We were able to check in as soon as we got to Philadelphia, and there's on-site parking. The room was large, clean and comfortable.
The hotel is a stone's throw from City Hall (our room did not have the pretty view, but for $80 a night I can't complain about that!), and a 20-minute walk down Market Street will get you to Olde Town and all the trendy bars and restaurants. This was our plan for dinner ... however, we walked about a block away from the hotel and came upon some really seedy-looking people who were screaming swears and insults across the street at another group of seedy-looking people. We opted to take a cab instead ($5 to get us down to 2nd Street and well worth our sense of safety).
Walk across Market Street and you'll be at Reading Terminal Market in a couple minutes. Incredibly convenient!
The toilet in our room overflowed when I tried to flush it, and quickly flooded the whole bathroom. We called the front desk for help and they sent two people up within 10 minutes to vacuum up the water and unclog the toilet.
We were on the 7th floor and during the day we heard a TON of noise coming from Market Street ... we thought some kind of festival was going on, or maybe it was the Hard Rock Cafe on the corner, but when we went outside later we saw that the music was coming from street performers. I'm amazed that the city allows them to be so loud. Luckily the noise ceased before the sun went down, but if that had continued on all night we definitely wouldn't have been able to get to sleep.
I guess the hotel allows dogs, because when we got home from dinner we saw a sign on the door opposite from our room saying that there was a dog inside. We also HEARD the dog ... obviously it was a small dog, because the thing did not stop yapping for about two straight hours while its owners were away. We eventually heard the owners come back to the room and the dog practically exploded with welcoming yelps, but luckily it quieted down after that and we didn't hear a peep for the rest of the night. We would've had to call the front desk if the dog hadn't quit barking. Maybe the reason why we got the room so cheap was that we were on a Pets floor and we were close to the street noise?
We only stayed for one night, and it cost us about $43 to get our car out of the lot to go home. That's the highest price we've ever paid for a hotel lot, but since the room was only $100 including taxes then we really can't complain, since getting a four-star hotel room and parking in a major city isn't easy to come by for $150 a night or less.
If we can get a similar deal, we'll definitely stay here again. -

This was a great hotel! The service and the people were excellent. We asked for a jacuzzi as a joke and got a room with a HUGE tub. We were only there for one night and would definitely go back. The SoleFood Restaurant bar located in the hotel was great too. The bartenders were very nice.
We visted the Reading Market Terminal after we checked out and the hotel held our bags and kept our car valeted so that we could walk to the terminal (only a block away!).
The hallways were a little run down looking, but it is a 200 year old building so what do you expect? A little updating could do major things for this hotel, but all in all it was a great hotel with great people and an excellent view of the city! -

I was there for 3 nights. Arrived after midnight to the warmest reception. My requested bedding type was not available upon check in so they gave me concierge lounge privileges for the duration of my stay.
Every department and employee encountered seemed genuinely happy to be there and to serve you. Room was clean, location is great. Excellent choice. -

Spent a wonderful 5 days last July in Loews Hotel. Had the With Love Philly free parking/hotel package. Good thing because the parking is expensive. The hotel is an art deco delight. The lobby is beautiful. We had a very big room with two extremely comfortable beds. The Keurig coffee maker in the room delivered delicious coffee. The bathroom was a good size plenty of counter space with comfy bathrobes. But the view was outstanding! Very friendly and attentive staff. Our room was kept spotless everyday and we received a thank you for our comments. Which is very nice. Had brunch in the Solefood restaurant found on the ground level of the hotel. We truly enjoyed our meals. All in all we enjoyed our stay in Philadelphia and the Loews hotel added to that enjoyment.

Long Island City, NY
We were in Philadelphia for a long weekend. Overall, we liked Loews and we recommend it. As for it being run down, the lobby and hallway carpets need to be cleaned or replaced, but otherwise it is quite a nice looking hotel.
Pros: 1. Excellent in-room coffee from a Keurig coffee maker. 2. Lovely lobby, elegantly decorated for Xmas. 3. A really great staff - friendly and hard-working. 4. A nice, clean room.
Cons. 1. We were given a room with 2 double beds - we called down and asked for a room with a Queen or King and were told there were none left. Hotels must know that there aren't any couples who want to sleep in a double bed. Plus the comforter was too small for the bed. 2. Add to this the fact (previously mentioned in a review) that you can hear everything in the hallway (talking, doors closing) and you end up with some sleep quality problems.
I'll probably avoid Loew's in future, but if you're not noise sensitive, you may be very happy here. -

The Loews Philly is a decent hotel. There are so many upscale options in Philly, the Loews probably needs to step its' game up to compete. I know the building is a historic landmark, but it doesn't have to look like it's 200 years old inside. The hallways and lobbies definitely need some updating, but the rooms were up to par.
The Loews is in a centralized location to most of the major Philly landmarks. Independence hall is a few blocks away and its not too terribly far from South Street. I would definitely stay here again if I could get a deal on priceline, but don't think I'll be paying the $300/ night rack rate.. -

I stayed there over the weekend and I was very impressed. The staff was very professional and helpful when I needed them. I can't wait until I return to Philly so I can stay there again.
My only issue was that the walls are very thin. I pretty much heard everything that my neighbors were talking about. Other than that great views and service. -

We stayed at Loews Philadelphia this past weekend after getting it on Priceline for $85/night. We decided to skip the $36/day valet parking and instead parked at a parking garage across the street from the hotel on 12th street for $17/day instead. I highly recommend doing this to save some money.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and when we had to call down to ask for new batteries for our TV remote, someone was up at our room five minutes later with a new remote. Our view was OK, but I wasn't expecting much since we booked via Priceline. The bed was comfortable - however, I found it surprising that a king bed was not an option when we checked in.
I used the gym on the 5th floor on Saturday morning - wow. This is by far the best complimentary hotel fitness center that I have seen. The cardio machines all have individual TVs, the free weight area has two nice sized flat screen TVs on the wall, and there are more than enough weight machines to exercise any muscle group you are looking to tone. The location of the hotel is really good - on Saturday we walked to Christ Church and Independence Hall - with a lot of restaurants and bars in walking distance or a short cab ride away. Plus walking around during the weekend, I saw a lot of subway stations nearby.
Overall we were pleased with Loews and would stay there again on a future trip to Philly.Listed in: Hotel, motel, Holiday Inn...

Went here for a conference. The hotel itself is located in a great area. You are within walking distance of numerous activities (especially food). For the conference they did offer free Wi-fi which is a plus. The room was nice, the bed relatively comfortable. All in all a place I would definitely go to again to stay if in Philly; though it is pricy.

When this building was built, it was often referred to as "The Modern Building". One of America's first and grandest skyscrapers, the PSFS building was a monument to the American spirit.
Years later, this building still possesses much of what makes America what it is. Straddling the border between the rich and poor areas of downtown, the historical edifice still stands proudly and strongly alongside newer, larger, more shiny buildings. Sure, it's somewhat dated, but there's a sense of history that is unparalleled in the region.
Fantastically close to the Reading market and right on public transit, this is a great option for first time visitors who are not bringing a car to the city.
Sure, it's worn down.... but it's incredibly inexpensive and wonderfully convenient. It's a safe bet in a city that the Fresh Prince fled from. -

Had a massage through groupon. My initial experience was terrible, and the worst massage of my life, but then I emailed the staff there and they're going to try to fit me in on another day. Hopefully this time will be better than the last!

I stayed here for several days for a conference in April 2010. Even with the conference rate, it was pricey, albeit a superior location and equipped with excellent dining options. While the room was comfortable, well-decorated and all the expected amenities of a fine hotel were present, it seemed to lean more toward the needs of a corporate business traveler than a leisure traveler and didn't have that relaxed ambience I've come to expect from Loews hotels. Perhaps it was the nature of a hotel located as it is in the heart of a big city. The service was excellent, though. Case in point: The maid left me a thank-you note for my tip.

To be honest, as beautiful as this hotel was, it was not worth the money.
Staff was friendly, location was great, but you can get the same thing fir 100$ less at another hotel in Philly. My husband and I stayed here for my birthday one night, we had a last but I'm sure we could anywhere else! I don't regret my stay, but it's a once in a lifetime thing for us.. -

I stayed here during a conference for work. The room was pretty, modern with a comfy bed. But what really made it was thee view from my room: I overlooked City Hall which is incredible when lit up at night. My favorite part was room service which included philly cheese steaks.
The pool is only two lanes and are fairly short, not ideal if you are swimmer. -

Love this hotel except for the concierge, they were useless for anything other than booking dinner reservations.
Our room was on one of the top floors and had views to die for. The hotel is in a great central location and I was able to walk all over town.
The in room wifi is slow and not worth the $
