Local Food
1 review for Local Food
A local recommended this place to us, so we figured we'd give it a try.
This spot serves plate lunches and also some Filipino dishes. Please note it is a walk-up counter and only has a couple of tables outside to sit.
I had the Lau Lau (seasoned pork wrapped and cooked in tea leaves) and my wife had the saimin (similar to a ramen soup). The Lau Lau was very good with a generous serving of pork...I've had some that were very small portions. The saimin was very good as well, again with a generous amount of chicken with the noodles.
Surprisingly, what was really good was the dressing that they provided with the green salad. The homemade dressing was sort of like a sweet and sour sauce with chili flakes. It wasn't spicy but was tangy with a little kick. We liked it so much that we asked if they sell it and the owner went into the back and just gave us a container of it. We enjoyed it the rest of our trip with one of those prepacked salad bags from Safeway.
If you're in the Lahaina area and are looking for a local plate lunch place, this one is pretty good for a quick bite to eat.
