I recently had the pleasure of staying overnight and being the ONLY guests in the house! Lee Ann gave us a key, showed us to our room, the Andrew Borden suite which included the stepmothers room and a private bathroom.
First thing we did after stashing our stuff and taking many pictures inside was to head over to the cemetery and visit the family plot. I felt a little guilty for not bringing some sort of tribute to the grave site but there's always next time!
We got back and waited for our night tour guide to arrive and give us the grand tour which was GREAT! I have a few books on the case but she told me some tidbits that i was unaware of AND we saw autopsy photos which I'd NEVER seen.. creepy...
We then headed over to the 99 restaurant for some grub and dessert to bring back and enjoy while we viewed "The Legend of Lizzie Borden" starring Elizabeth Montgomery! I hadn't seen this in probably 20 years or more. It was strange, being alone in the house, sitting in the parlor eating cheesecake and watching the movie.
Midnight struck and after contemplating which lights to leave on in the house, we headed upstairs and locked the three doors that led into our room and tried to sleep.
First there was a strange cold draft that kept me freezing and then within 30 minutes I was boiling. Marcel had the exact opposite of my problem. Weird. We kept hearing noises which were probably in our heads but strangely real.
We finally passed out about 4am and woke up at 6am - and waited until 8am to go downstairs and have a fabulous breakfast of johnnycakes and other assorted goodies.
We of course, visited the gift shop and bought several commemorative souvenirs.
I HIGHLY recommend visiting this B&B - the history of the town is also interesting as well..
Funnily enough, after viewing the photos when we returned back home to LA, we found a weird white splotch in one of the pictures taken outside the room Abby Borden was killed in... and i gotta tell you, there was NO glare - spooky...
GO LIZZIE!

I've never been to the Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast, so perhaps my review is not merited. However, I am so intrigued by these historical obsessions, especially when they come to define a place in the way that the Lizzie Borden story has come to define Fall River. I read this great article on the recent naming rights debate, worth a read for anyone considering a visit to the B&B: http://onthebutton.wor...
What a hilariously cheesy tourist trap! Oh goodness me. A friend and I visited the Lizzy Borden house after years of talking about. We arrived at 3pm for their last tour of the day. The slightly grumpy tour guide seemed like she was going to turn us away because it was only the 2 of us, but reconsidered.
She seemed to cheer up as we entered the house and quickly went around to set everything up (they'd closed up as it had been a slow day). The tour was very informative and the guide really seemed to be well versed in her Lizzy history. I did enjoy hearing the stories.
The house itself is hilarious. While they did their best to bring it back to its historic glory you can tell the renovations were done in the 90's. Especially when looking at the wallpaper and hotel style carpet. I also found it funny that they decorated the house with books about movies about the Borden murders. I was slightly disappointed that they didn't have more artifacts or that the pictures were not larger and more prominently displayed. For $12, you'd expect to see a little more.
All in all, a fun thing to do if you find yourself in Fall River.

I did the tour with some friends; we did not stay overnight.
The tour itself is a guided one hour tour of the house telling the Lizzie Borden story including the background and future for all the players. Our guide was very well-informed and answered many questions for us during and after the tour. There are somewhat gruesome murder scence pictures avaiable for the viewing in the house. The gift shop includes some cheesy items like a "yo, don't make me axe you again!" pin. The gift shop will also give you a map (free) directing you to other local Lizzie sites, such as the house she and Emma bought post-acquittal, the Borden family plot, and the Fall River Historical Society.
All in all it was interesting, but you don't get the bang for your buck that you do at Battleship Cove.

Our tour guide sounded like she had smoked about 50packs that morning before coming to work. I did feel kind of bad for her though because she was obviously very nervous and unsure. But then again, her job is a tour guide...so not sure why someone would take that job if they didn't enjoy it. Okay anyway, the tour is all right but definitely nothing great. I mean you are touring a house where people were brutally murdered...would you do the same today if someone supposedly axed their folks?
I was surprised and disgusted that I was the only one in the entire group who would not look at the autopsy photos. Why would you want to see that?? Anyway...I expected it to be a sort-of campy, silly experience and instead it was just boring.
It cost $12.50 for the tour, but they didn't even give you a ticket. I wondered how many others had actually paid? Seriously who operates a business on the honor system? There is a small gift shop in the barn. If you like buying shirts like "What would Lizzie do?" you're in luck. :)
Faith and I went to Boston last year for our 10th anniversary. Now, Faith has an obsession with real crime, so it was inevitable that we would stay a night at the Lizzie Borden house. Our anniversary is August 5th, which just so happens to coincide with the anniversary of Lizzie Borden's alleged crime. We couldn't stay on the night of the 5th (fully booked years in advance!) but we were able to stay a few days before.
We stayed in Lizzie's room. Right next door a young couple was staying in the room where Lizzie's mother was killed. It sounds macabre, but it's actually really interesting. Fall River, and where the Lizzie Borden house is, isn't exactly a beauty spot. If not for Lizzie, I don't think we would have ever come here.
So we checked in and walked around the house. Lee-ann Wilber runs the place and is fantastic as a host. She directed us to where we could view the family graves in the cemetery, the house which Lizzie bought once she was acquitted, and a terrific place to have dinner. We then returned to the house for a tour.
It's kind of creepy sitting there and hearing about things that happened right there, in the same place as you were going to sleep that night. The whole story is kind of bizarre, and brutal, which is why it became such a famous one. The tour was amazing, and Lee-ann told the story with such flair and presentation. I must admit, we got goosebumps from listening to it! Going to bed, I slept like a baby but Faith claims she didn't sleep well and felt a presence.
In the morning, we enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast, with johnny cakes like Lizzie and her family would have eaten before the murders. It was a shame that we had such a short time there, we enjoyed it so much!

Personally, I found the "gift shop" in the basement much creepier than the house! Some orbs did show up in the photos, though.
I just took the tour; it might be better if you stay there. When I was there, the owners didn't seem too enthusiastic.
Fall River doesn't have much else going for it though.

Get 40 winks and maybe 40 whacks!
I am a B&B hater but I made a special exception for this one, and it was well worth it!
We stayed in the murdered Father and Step-Mother's room (the most hospitable accommodations in the house) and participated in the tour, sance, personal medium reading, and authentic breakfast---all of it was top notch and great fun, it also gives your something to chat with the other guests about (the most dreaded of B&B tasks).
I gotta say I didn't get as spooked as I had wanted, but my husband was entertainingly shaken by the whole experience. Hehehe.
I'd recommend this place to anyone, and even if your don't get a message from the dead about where the family fortune is buried, the commemorative shots of your pretending your "hatcheted" on the couch or the orbs I caught on night vision while we slept are cause enough!
TIP: Reserve well in advance, and check back for cancellations if there is another room your want that wasn't available originally.

This was one of the coolest tours i have ever taken. the people were so laid back and they let you sit on all the stuff. they let you take photos of what ever you want. and the host give you great info about the house and answer all your questions. they let you have drinks. and the gift shop was amazing. even being a little highly priced. we also met one of the host of the top scariest places.
