LIZ always has all the Eagle Pack for my Doberman. He knows when I go there and quickly mobs me at the door. This is the best pet store i've been to.
I shop at Liz's for my bird and my dog and Liz and her family are uber helpful for both. I've learned more about my pets from Liz than I have from my vet. Plus the prices are decent and I feel like I'm supporting a locally owned store rather than a generic superstore.
Liz is very very nice and cares a lot about what you feed your furry friends.
She remembers you and gives you great help. I like that she gives a "case discount" even if you don't buy all the same food. I like to mix it up for my pets so it's great. Her prices are good and I don't feel like I get ripped off there. It's not the prettiest store in the world but they have good products and good knowledge.
This shop is great and the owner is a gem. They boarded our pet bird for several days and were extra kind and conscientious about her care. Recommended wholeheartedly!

A great pet shop! They carry Holistic Select by Eagle Pack and all the other brands you trust. The owner is super friendly and helpful, the store is kinda crazy inside but she'll help you find what you need.
Absolutely everything you need and want. If you're not careful you might drive by the shop once or twice without noticing it...I did. But once inside you'll be overwhelmed. She carries so much merchandise its insane, yet somehow she knows exactly where everything is. I walked in thinking I wanted to start my dog on a Raw Diet and I walked out convinced that Raw was the way to go. Liz is incredibly knowledgeable! She's not some pushy sales person, but she is absolutely confident about the products she carries. Please do yourself and your pet(s) a great service and visit Liz's Pet Shop and make sure you come with questions...she'll absolutely welcomes them. Oh yeah, her prices are way better then anything you'll find in any pet shop East of Western.
The first time I went into Liz's I asked if she had any "traditional" dog food like Pedigree or Iams--I just needed something quick for my dog, as I was already late for a wedding and those are brands she was used to. Liz looked at me if I were crazy!! She actually scolded me for feeding that poison to my animal. I was annoyed at first with her "preachy" approach, but I promised to come back in when I had more time to listen to her side of the story. I haven't been to a "traditional" pet sore to buy "traditional" food ever since. Liz had pamphlets and just a great general knowledge of the products she provided and I was hooked! My pets love the food and their general health has improved drastically! Liz really cares about animals and her customers.
True, it's not the nicest-looking place on earth to buy your pet stuff, but I won't go anywhere else. Since I've gotten the dog, I've visited a lot of locally owned pet food stores, and had to deal with clerks who are very opinionated when it comes to dog food choice. I was harshly criticized by one person for using a type of food that is not sold in his store (I was feeding my dog high-end, organic stuff and this clerk was outraged, talking to me as if I was intentionally abusing my animal). I like Liz's because she sells all the same high-end stuff that her competitors do, and seems far more down to earth and trustworthy. The prices are good, too.

The Ultimate Cat Tree.. real tree bark, two open perches, and a closed perch with a cut-out so my cat can look outside. Got it at Liz's Pet Shop, along with healthier food for my cat. I had no idea about the dangers of some of the larger brands. All in all, it's an impressive place, run by a very dedicated, animal loving Liz. The staff is kind and knowledgable, and though the place is a bit cluttered I'm told she is putting in a new computerized inventory system. I'm never going back to PetSmart, plus Liz's is closer to my apt.
I have been looking for a bird for about the month now, and I have visited a few pet stores, like the Pet Co's and such, and none really compare to Liz's. Its not your typical pet shop in that it doesn't stock as many animals as they possibly can. Even her business cards say "handfed birds- by request."
She was so helpful, and showed us what babys she currently had up for sale. She had three Sun Conures, two of which were already sold. She even asked if we wanted to hold the one that was still for sale, not knowing if we even were intending to buy it! Most "Pet stores" will not do this.
We sanatized our hands and spent quite a bit of time with the little bird, and needless to say, we put a deposit down on him.
Hes not ready to go home yet, and thats just fine.
We still get to go in whenever we can and bond with our bird.
Now this is the part that really got me, and I dont know any other bird sellers that do this.
Before we get to take him/her home:
The bird will be checked out by an avian vet, sexed, and they are even going to check the birds liver for bacteria (minor surgery) They do this, because if there is bacteria present, the bird WILL become sick within the next 6 months or so.
Im impressed.
She also boards birds and has a great selection of cat and dog food!
I went in to Liz's Bird Shop today. It is one of the cleanest pet shops I have ever seen. The couple of people who came in while I was there she knew them and their pets personally. When I explained that I was looking for the larger corn cob litter/bedding for my hedgehog Hoggle (they stock the small), she immediately said that they could special order it but then she showed me an alternative which I'd never even heard of called Critter Country which I am looking into. Anyways, I love all the healthy and organic choices they have for our furry, feathered, and non-furry friends. Will definitely be special ordering from here or buying the Critter Country if I hear it's hedgie approved.
The place is small but its pretty well organized and the owners are great people. I went in there looking for better cat food because even the more natural and expensive cat foods at other places left her throwing up after a few weeks of use. She gave me so much information and actually gave me 4 different cat food samples to try to see which one my cat liked best. Even though I'm now on the other side of the city I still won't go anywhere else for my cats food and other supplies. After going there I would never shop at Petsmart again. I'll use them for Banfield but thats where I now draw the line.

Liz is extremely helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to pet nutrition. She is very selective with what brands she carries, and gave me a good number of free samples of kitty kibble to try to find one the cats liked. The prices are pretty good, as well, as far as high-end stuff goes. They aren't a yuppie pet boutique, or a nasty Pet Store. From what I could tell, Liz takes wonderful care of the birds she raises and sells, and wonderful care of her customers as well.
I have never tried to purchase a bird from her, but she will tell you all about it. I go there to buy dog food. I cannot find any other place in this neighborhood to buy higher-end dog food. Her prices are also very resonable. She does not have very long hours so if you need to go, plan on going on the weekends.

So, they could use some help with merchandising displays and marketing, but these folks really love animals, sell great stuff and reasonable prices, and are always happy to give you lots and lots of advice. I've boarded my parrot with them too, and he seems really happy each time I"ve picked him up. It's hard to find folks who you can trust with your baby, and they do well by him.

Nice selection of dog foods and treats. Liz answered all our questions and provided literature on foods and supplements we asked about. It's a little out of the way, but parking is pretty easy.

WELL LET ME TELL YA IF YOU THINK BUYING CHEAP FOOD FOR YOUR PETS IS A GOOD IDEA DON'T LET THESE GUY'S KNOW IT . THEY HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE ,AND EXPERIENCE, TO PROVE IT.
THE TIME I WENT IN THERE THE OLD LOCATION I WAS CRAWLING OUT OF CLEO'S TO BUY SOME FOOD FOR MY PET AND WALKED OUT WITH A WORLD OF INFO ,AND I HAVE TRUSTED THEM FOR ALL MY PET NEEDS. THEY WILL NOT SELL YOU SOME THING JUST TO SELL IT . I LIKE THAT.

The owner of this store is really picky about finding the best owners for her feathered friends. She will not make a sale with you until you have 'bonded' with her bird. And she has the place set up in a very cozy manner just so you can do that. So if you're looking for a real friend in a bird, check out this place for a bonding session!
