It's a gallery in North Beach that's actually a gallery, this is a rare thing.

I am not sure about the space or quality of art displayed.  When I was there it wasn't bad, but the space is a bit rough (even for a starter gallery) -- Queen's Nails Annex has better production values for example -- and tiny.  Still a gallery in North Beach not trying to sell painted pottery, that's worth a lot.

Coming from LA, I've seen a ton of amazing galleries.  This one in North Beach is egh.  To me, the art was egh.  It seemed very elementary and not so prolific.  There are galleries in SOMA which are way better.  I guess I can't expect too much from North Beach, only the food.  Well I gave this place 3 stars for being friendly and offering free wine.  They do this at all galleries though, don't they?!  Anyways, it isn't something that I would promote.

I stumbled into Live Worms after noting sleeze-bar after sleeze-bar in North Beach. Ah, how refreshing to see some non-traditional art in North Beach (neon sex signs don't count).
The gallery is a great vintage/rustic space. I heard it's an old hardware shop. I enjoyed the creaky wood floor, exposed pipes, and other unintentional nuances.
Kevin Brown (who rents the space out to artists) currently had his work up. It was peculiar, but v expressive. I'd love to come back here for an opening sometime.

I had a show here a few weekends ago. There were 7 of us exhibiting and the space was great.

Very reasonable rent and the traffic was decent.

Would recommend it !

What a great place for an aspiring artist to have an art show. It has a simple, somewhat weathered feel, but with good lighting and wall space paired with an inviting feel that says "come on in, look around". I was here for a friends show some time back and now pop in anytime they are open and I am strolling by. The artist who usually shows his work here, and uses the space as his studio, is more than willing to rent it out for an extremely reasonable rate for an afternoon/evening. This means you never know exactly what you are going to get but you just may stumble in on some fresh new talent.

This is a great exhibition space for motivated art students. You pay to rent out the gallery, but the wall space is large enough for 10 or so people to show at a time.  Plus the shows there draw an interesting selection of Old World North Beachers of the Beat variety.

I don't really "know" about this place, had a fellow artist tell me she was having a show there and to go check it out. I was like, well why not, I'm not doing much tonight...so we were off to the "gallery". When we got there we encountered the "everything is art" crowd. A bunch of beatniks that were harping about the good ole times and when we shuffled inside because the place was packed, all of the work was mediocre and not really curated and shown that well, it seemed like every single person was cramming as much sellable crap into the smallest space they could to try and make rent. All of the work had prices right next to it (which I found insulting to the artist), and almost nothing was priced over 50$. They were also charging for wine and beer. I later learned (don't know if this is true) that the gallery actually charges the artists to be able to sell their work, and im not sure if they still take a commission, but that also seemed a bit weird.

Beautiful wood-paneled space at the former site of the legendary Figoni Hardware.

Very reasonable to rent out for art shows, and the locals always show up.

I would definately recommend it to SFAI peeps, or other art students looking to show their work.
