Great placo to get seafood. I've had nearly every dinner special... and each one was delicious. I haven't had any of the cajun/creole options, and didn't even realize that was a part of their theme. The shellflish platter (oysters, clams, and shrimp) is not that filling. If they could just give me a little more, it would be an awesome meal.
They bring out cornbread prior to the food. It's awesome.
O.M.G.
I've had this huge craving for chicken fried steak after seeing one of the Food Network shows. Living in LA, I never possesed such a huge infatuation for such a thing. My first and many chicken fried steak came from Denny's, the McDonald's of "diners". And I had zero complaints about it. I never imagined it would be such a diamond in the rough in NYC.
It's probably my fault for not putting enough effort in my research but I never thought it could be so difficult to find it. So, on a whim, my bf decided I've brainwashed him enough to really really crave chicken fried steak. We quickly did a search to find restaurants in our area and came across Live Bait. Okay fine. We didn't have too many choices anyway.
Yuck. Yuck. Yuckity yuck yuck. The bartender/server had a tragically bland personality. It took her about 15 minutes to realize we were even there and another 10 minutes to respond to our menu request. She pretty much sucked the life out of what was remaining at this bar. I'm not too keen on having Eeyore as my bartender.
Regardless, we proceeded to order honey buffalo wings (sauce = good; meat = bleh), and of course, we each had an order of the chicken fried steak with a side of red beans w/ andouille sausage and mac n' cheese. I wish I was bulimic so I would have an excuse to throw it all up. It was imply awful awful awful with a side of awful service. I'm never usually this cruel because it takes a whole lot of disappointment to make me such a meanie. So that must mean something.
Non U.S. tourists who come here expecting southern food are being misled. U.S. citizens who come here expecting southern food are just plain stupid. That would include me.
Service sucks. Chicken fried steak sucks. Service sucks. Greens suck. Corn bread sucks. And once again, the service sucks.
And the biggest "Welcome to New York, y'all" suck is that old trick of refusing to give the change for a cash bill, so the patron is forced to either make a scene or just leave an undeserved tip.
I can't believe this ass-trap has been open as long as it has.
Cool atmosphere, beer prices are fair.
Considering this is more or less the only game in town (Madison Sq Park is like a dead zone for bars besides this and Deweys Flat Iron, which sucks) it's a pretty good spot for lunch...I prefer to sit and booze while I wait for my grub than wait on line like people who take their lunch at, say...Shake Shack??
No happy hour specials (weeeeak), but a $5 beer isn't that bad (unless you're not from the area. Then it's completely freakin obsurd).
Fun set up including the to-go tiki bar looking stand when you first walk in. It's one of those self-depricating places that hangs signs saying if you want good food and service, you're in the wrong place.
Good jerk chicken sandwich and burgers (both around $10), haven't had any of the bait.
The servers and bartenders are nice, but I always sit up front at the high top tables by the bar, which is a pretty neglected area, but once you get the hostess' attention, you should be good to go...plenty of seating in the back too, but I come for the bar not the restaurant.
Well, I decided to come here for lunch after the initial rush and showed up at around 1:50 or so. I got a table pretty quick. I ordered candied yams, a half a dozen raw oysters, gumbo, and an ice tea.
I got my iced tea pretty quick, I'd really hope for some sweet tea though which it wasn't. Got my yams which were alright, but the oysters were pretty good. at roughly $2 an oyster, they were pretty decent. Big and really meaty. One of them wasn't really good though, but 5/6 isn't so bad I suppose.
Based on the food, I would give it 3 stars. But... after 40 minutes of waiting for gumbo with me being one of a few people in the restaurant at the time was a little out of control. It seems that my order somehow was forgotten =(.
After that was sorted out, I got my gumbo extremely quick and immediately started to chow down. It's was deceptively fatty. I say that because the okra that was in it was so soft and really resembled eating fat, which I enjoyed. I do wish it had more flavor though, even after I had added some tobasco .
All in all, I spent around an hour here and was not really impressed by it. Along with the service, I have to rate this place a **.
Not much to say about this place, but they have decent oysters.
Damn, I wouldnt mind a Hurricane right now....
I work up the block, so this is my lunch spot about 2xs a month. The food is great, service is ehhhh, but the drinks are what makes me go back. The are NOT cheap with the liquor. It gets packed for lunch, so get there before or after the rush.
me and my work crew swear by this place, so should you.
I'm pretty sure I was the Live Bait being referenced here, because I got straight-up reeled into this place.
Without much discretion, we made our way to the back and were quickly greeted with a smile and a basket of cornbread muffins. The decor is certainly charming, if not a little gimmicky, and more than makes up for the average food. I've had better Pulled Pork sandwiches, but I can't really criticize or expect culinary genius from a place that has a dirty outboard motor sitting atop huge, mock, dead-fish freezers as "decoration". And I really mean that in the most endearing way possible.
What's memorable about Live Bait is the set-up; sea-green, diner-like seating, Dixieland license plate ornaments, and fake trophy fish adorning the walls. Although I did not indulge, their specialty drinks and desserts appeared dirty and delicious. If not for the food, I'm coming back here for the Jack Daniels Pecan Pie and a Redneck Martini.
This is another place by my job that I've never been to, yet it got me through many a bad day on the night shift.
The Live Bait Burger, The Turkey Burger, The Grilled Chicken Sandwich, The Pulled Pork Sandwich, The Fried Chicken Sandwich...I think that's everything I've eaten from there. And without fail, all have been delicious. I would gladly get a burger here rather than Shake Shack across the street.
The sides are great too. Their seasoned french fries are delicious and usually crisp despite moisture from being in the delivery container. The sweet potatoes are diabetic coma inducing, and the mashed potatoes are fluffy and flavorful.
I definitely need to follow this up with an in person Live Bait experience in the near future.
Mediocre food at NYC prices. I suspect they get a lot of business from people not willing to wait in an hour line at the Shake Shack across the street. The food was nothing special but it wasn't too bad either. They brought me a beer that was just below room temp which has never happened to me, of course I sent it back but things like that shouldn't happen in a good bar. If the place was a little cheaper the the service was better I'd consider giving them a 4.
Need to pee after your beers and burgers at Shake Shack? Live Bait is your answer. Very casual place with a fun vibe and happy bartenders. Can't recall what the prices were like, but the oyster shots were spicy and delicious.
Great place!
If you have just come down of 230 Fifth and want to land into the "real world" again, come for three things:
- A yummy burger.
- The Blackened voodoo beer.
- The super friendly and cute short blond haired waitress that works with kitchen gloves and always has an smile in her mouth.
Yeah!
I came to this place yesterday after traveling uptown to try out the Shake Shack. Got to the park and realized that if I ever wanted to eat lunch I would have to pick an alternative, because the lines at the Shack with INSANE.
Right across the street from Madison Square Park was this little joint, and having glanced over the ratings while making my lunch choice yesterday, I thought I might as well try it. After a night of celebrating a great season of Kickball my body was craving a hunk of meat (hence the craving for the Shack).
The place was hopping, but we were immediately seated by our hostess/waitress who was very friendly. My boyfriend ordered up the Chicken Fried Chicken Sandwich (what exactly is chicken fried chicken?) and I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich. I also added in an order of the Peel and Eat Shrimp.
Every table gets a nice little basket of corn muffins, which were piping hot and delicious. Our food came fairly quick and everything was great, except for the Peel and Eat Shrimp which never quite made it to us... (Later I was grateful for this - the food was so filling I was stuffed!) My only complaint is that for a BBQ joint it didn't have extra BBQ sauce on the side to add to my sandwich. I love my Pulled Pork wet and sloppy, and while I wouldn't call it dry, it could have used a little more sauce.
Took a little while to get the check, for which the waitress apologized to us for and proceeded to thank us for our patience.
If you know anything about me - it's that I highly critique customer service. This place definitely left a good impression based solely on that.
Overall food was good and service was excellent. The beer selection looked pretty amazing and I'm sure I'll be traveling back to this place again.
Three stars for your beer and proximity to Shake Shack; there's nothing better than drinking Abita after consuming a shack stack burger as big as your head.
Everything else....not-so-much
Went for a dinner for 5 - decent bill, good beer on tap, friendly and fast service.
I wish my steak salad was bigger, but otherwise OK for sit down service in this part of Manhattan.
Live Bait is one my favorite restaurants in the Gramercy/Flatiron area. They have a great menu with some really delicious selections (I like to get their yummy soups for lunch and pulled pork or grilled chicken sandwiches otherwise!) they even make an amazingly delicious drink, The Redneck Martini...yes, I just unabashedly said I love a drink called the Redneck Martini. Mmmmmm...I wish I had one right now just thinking about it. The perfect mix of gin and Tabasco. Anyhow, I digress.
The service is also great and very fast. I visit often for lunch and they are always on top of things even when the restaurant is at it's full capacity (usually between noon-1:30pm it seems).
The atmosphere is very...southern and divey, I guess? But not in an 'icky, I don't want to eat here' kind of way. The booths and tables are comfortable and the place is clean and well kept.
The only negative I would mention (even though I haven't been here during the evening after work rush, only seen it from the street) is that I imagine it would be a sucky crowd of suit-types and such, so maybe avoid going between 5-6pm on a weekday. Otherwise, head on over and get some yummy food. And make sure you try the Redneck Martini!
Huge Jenga building next door notwithstanding, not a fan of this place really. Most of the furniture looks like it needs some sort of renovation, if they were people, they'd need new hips.
The bar is long and arduous, and the crowd is superbly not fun, a weird mix of a couple of suits, really dressed down tourists, thrown in a couple of students and a stifling air of bad cologne/perfume and you get a sense of how dead it feels sometimes. It's a bar that you get drunk at without a care in the world. But there are cheaper places to do it, and better places to do it. The location really doesn't help, it's on the south side of Madison Park and the green tints and bad lighting from the street and inside kind of give an "icky" feel.
The food isn't half bad, there are really better places to get southern food but I was digging the calamari and buffalo wings and fries, the prices are about average with most things hovering around 10 bucks.
It's just not the bar I would feel at home in, rather, it's like a large, excessive midtown bar that got stuck in Flatiron and makes you want to go ahead and try someplace else, even if it is Dewey's Flatiron.
Really the definition of A-OK. The food is fairly good, but pricey for what it is. Theme is fun, but borders on a non-franchised TGIFridays kind of thing. Obviously the location is great and this is definitely a good place to go for a boozy lunch with coworkers.
I like Live Bait for lunch, though I'm probably weighing its virtues up due to the relative dearth of affordable quality lunch options in Flatiron. Love the cornbread muffins that come out the minute you sit down. Love the faux-redneck decor and near-risque entrees ("Plantation Gumbo," "Robert E. Lee's Chicken Fried Steak"), politically and nutritionally incorrect but very tasty. The blackened catfish sandwich, crabcakes, and fried chicken are all good. Wash it down with a Pork Slap beer (one of the few places in town where I've seen this novelty brew).
A bunch of people and I went here for a birthday lunch - the request of the birthday guy - and I don't think we'll go back any time soon. The food isn't bad - lots of seafood and tried-and-true BBQ to fill you up - but the service sucked. I've never experienced such horrible service before. We were seated and placed our orders within a reasonable amount of time. When our food still hadn't arrived nearly an hour later, we managed to flag down our waitress, who was never available when we needed her. She told us the food would be out momentarily. It finally arrived 15 minutes later; we woofed it down because we all had to get back to work; and then I flagged our waitress down again to discuss the check.
As the food had taken so long to arrive and there had been no explanation for its delay, I suggested that the restaurant might compensate us by having the meals be on them. Our waitress talked to the manager, who told us this was not possible - again, no explanation was provided - but she said we could have free dessert if we wanted. As we didn't have any time for free dessert, we couldn't take her up on the offer, so we just paid the bill and left.
Overall, not the best experience. If you want BBQ food mixed with a bar scene, go somewhere else. There are better places in NYC for that sort of thing.
This bar benefits from a lack of decent places in flatiron, it is hit or miss on a crowd, sometimes there are people sometimes it looks like a ghost town.
It is one of the few places in the city you can order some Jack or Jim and you don't get a funny look, so that is a positive.
The food is so-so, that's being nice I think.
Go here as a late night dive, but don't plan a night around this spot.
I have been here 4 times... and I think it gets better every time. The restaurant specializes in a southern style food... fish & chips, cornbread (AAAAMAZING), BBQ Pork, Gumbo, etc. I would definitely get the fish and chips.. if you're a first timer... it's great and you can't go wrong with it.
The place has a whole bar when you walk in.... and the back is the sit-down restaurant. It's all decked out in fisherman paraphernalia. It's fun and makes the place feel like you're far from the streets of NYC. And the service is fast. Overall - love it.. and will continue to come here. if you need some home style food, this place hits the spot.
Here's when you should go here. (This is what happened the other night)
You go to Shake Shack for burgers and beer on a warm night. You're sick of getting beers two at a time on the B line. You don't want to sit on the benches anymore. 2 or more people in your party have to go to the bathroom.
Finish the early part of your evening at Live Bait. Decent beers. Close enough to keep the party going while you figure out where to go next.
I may just add a fifth star once I can get here for happy hour and put away one or five beers -- but in the meantime, ANY place that you can get a decent (or better), chicken fried steak is OK with me!
I came here today for a quick, informal business lunch, and while the atmosphere isn't exactly what one might consider to be "classy" -- as a matter of fact I do believe they go out of their way here to be as unclassy as possible -- but this is more than fine with me. It is a place I can be comfortable in and kick back and relax in.
Since it was a business lunch, I did not take the opportunity to imbibe, but we had a good lunch. I had the chicken fried steak with a country gravy with macaroni & cheese side. My lunch companion had the salmon special over a bed of greens that looked good -- and he reported it to be tasty.
Enjoyable, relaxed and a big selection of beer. What more can a guy need anyhow? I look forward to coming back and try some more of their southern style specialties -- and of course some alcohol to wash it down with.
And who knows -- as I read in one post on the talk threads -- maybe they will see some merit in putting together a create your own bloody mary bar.
The place is okay . . not bad, not great. Live Bait seems to be a big happy hour spot, and with their large selection of beers, I'm not surprised at all.
I've gone here for lunch during work a few times, and have never been really driven to run back time and time again, but I have. The food is decent, and they have a fairly thorough menu. I usually get the cheeseburger, which was great the first time I went.
The service was okay - they typically have one or two waitresses working the entire seating area, so the task of trying to get a refill on your coke or get your check so you can go can be sort of challenging, especially when they almost seem like they are trying to ignore you.
If you're in the area and looking to change things up, I recommend giving this place a look.
The food here was fantastic. I was here for Chelsea J's 24th birthday last night. We started with some hushpuppies with jalapeos baked in. They were really awesome. I also had a can of PBR because they had a big ice chest full of it, so that was awesome.
Then I ordered the catfish. I got it grilled and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked just right and was not dry or anything. It came with two sides so I ordered their mac and cheese which was phenomenal (take THAT Acme!) and I also got red beans and sausage. The sausage was not as spicy as I had hoped, but it was still pretty good.
For dessert I had a slice of coconut creme pie which I certainly did not need. But nonetheless it was still very very tasty. And the slice was HUGE too.
One weird thing was my friend asked for a pint of Miller Lite and what came over to him was certainly not Miller Lite. The bartender said it was because the keg was kicked, but I tasted it and it just tasted like a different beer altogether. Regardless, he instead got a Red Stripe and all was well.
The one downfall of this place was the bathroom. I know the food is Southern Cajun and everything, but seriously, the bathrooms don't need to feel like I'm in the deep South too.
I ate here for the first time on Monday. Though the company I was in quite annoyed me, the food made up for what ended up to be a pretty bad night. I had the salmon with spinach, mushrooms and sundried tomatoes and it was pretty damned tasty!
I'll go there again, but never with the idiot I had the misfortune of spending that evening with.
oh my gun-nes!
I came here for Fat Tuesday with a friend of mine, expecting typical Southern fare, going by the name of the place (Live Bait is actually between 5th and Madison, btw).
Though I truly wanted to order the Cornflake Fried Catfish with Sweet Pecan Butter & two sides, I decided not to OD and go with the Grilled Catfish with Lemonherb butter (since my friend was ordering the other one anyway).
The grilled catfish was flaky and buttery, yet not taken over by the butter. The collard greens were salty enough, without diving off the deep end. Lastly, the dirty rice could have used a little more salt, but topped with some of my friend's red beans, delicious! I have to say that when I come back here, I may be tempted to just order the same thing again. I have no comment on the crowd, as I was wholly engrossed in my meal.
One star off for the drinks - not terrible, yet not super good either. My "hard lemonade" was too sweet and my other lemonade-based drink didn't have any alcohol, each $8.
Ah well, next time - just food.
Cute, diner-style place with sing-a-long songs playing. Service was ok and food was good. Had the salmon over spinach and blackened mahi sandwich. Reminds me of home in the south. Cornbread muffins served as appetizer were ok.
If you are fan of a place where you can get good food for a pretty good price and don't care too much about presentation and ambient atmosphere, then this place is great. I'd definitely come here with friends.
Food is really good. I had some very memorable crab cakes and fried chicken. My friends tell me their drinks are good as well.
My friend and I came here after work on Friday since I have always been curious about this place. (This place claims to be Cajun, Southern, & Soul ) Being from the South - I do miss my Cajun and Creole food so picked this place after reading the reviews on Yelp.
Upon sitting - we were immediately greeted with FRESH, WARM MINIATURE CORNBREAD!
I must say I never had cornbread this good and this warm!
The cornbread gave me high hopes and high expectations for the dishes that we ordered.
I asked the waitress what she recommends and she she advised we should order the following:
Classic Maryland Shore Crabmeat Fritters
- Yo, where's the crab? This is more like CRAP! We took a bite and left the rest on the plate. I know a lot of people on here said they love it but I didn't care for this dish at all.
Cajun Calamari with marinara sauce
-People here in East Coast abuses the word "CAJUN". What's Cajun about this dish? It just tasted like any other BAD Calamari I had - the ones with so much fried breading!
Besides the two above dishes, we also had the following:
Raw Oysters
-VERY PUNY, but it's an uncontrollable factor but why were there no LEMON WEDGES on the ice tray???
Grilled Boneless Breast of Chicken marinated In Rosemary, Garlic, Lemon Olive Oil w/ a honey mustard
-Pretty good dish - my only complaint is that it was a bit salty!
Fixin' - Mashed Potatoes and Mac & Cheese
-Standard side dishes and they were good but they are no brain-er sides. It wasn't the best I ever had since people here raved about their MAC & CHEESE but it wasn't all that to me.
I would probably just come back for the FRESH CORNBREAD!
Solid Southern-esque fare from this kitschy-looking, suspiciously neony joint just south of Madison Square Park.
Complimentary cornbread muffins. Refillable upon request. Enough said.
Hush puppies with a hint of jalapeno and some excellent homemade tartar sauce are crisply fried and satisfying.
BBQ bait burger -- a slab of beef topped with a hunk of spicy andouille sausage. Not a bad burger, but consider how strongly dedicated you are to eating meat before attacking this guy. It is a lot of meat.
Mac and cheese: strong showing. Amy seal of mac and cheese approval.
Gumbo on rice. This tasted a little odd to me. Thick, floury, suspiciously grey-brown mixture -- thick with bits of okra and hunks of chicken, but reminiscent of, I want to say ginseng. It probably wasn't ginseng. But this dish kind of baffled me. (More edible with the cornbread in all its soppy-up goodness.)
Positive reaction to the BBQ chicken sandwich by a friend.
Dessert -- we got a dish of ice cream, three scoops to a serving. They have several interesting flavors here, like butterscotch, bourbon butter pecan, and malted milk ball. We were a little perplexed when the waitress said they don't put multiple flavors into one dish. How much extra labor and cost-inefficiency is involved in putting different flavors into one dish? Another baffling moment. Friend suggested we ask to taste the different flavors before making a three-scoop commitment. In the end, though, the waitress's assertion that the malted milk ball was "really good" proved sound. It was really good. Creamy, substantive, packed with malt & chocolatey flavor.
Though we didn't sample any, a huge selection of Southern themed cocktails are offered.
For low-brow, hearty, satisfying comfort food, this place is mostly good at what it does.
Just like a fisherman in the Flatiron district casting bait, I like a foolish fish took it and realized I didn't enjoy the hook in my mouth. Unfortunately, I couldn't run as I was already struck with the bill and had to endure the extremely unsatisfactory service. Upon looking into the restaurant, it looks like any bar with a couple of TVs running and with some Louisiana memorabilia on the walls.
Complete with an oyster bar in the front, the restaurant is a good place to score seafood at a reasonable cost. The menu unfortunately limited to a few items so any Southerner might be disappointed with the lack of variety here. My crabcake sandwich was decent, but not outstanding or particularly filling. On a separate occasion, I decided to try the seafood jambalaya over dirty rice and realized that my $15 was a complete waste. Now Live Bait can only reel me in during happy hour, but even then there isn't a whole lot of action here as I've noticed this place packed on only select nights of the week.
Live Bait is one of my favorite bar/restaurants in Manhattan. Best cajun dive bar in NYC. It is fun and reasonably priced. Everything is delicious from the fresh oyster bar to Aunt Bea's Fried Chicken. I love Aunt Bea- wherever she is.
Solid food, nice service, overall good experience.
We were presented with a basket of warm mini cornbread muffins which my friend devoured after finding out they were unlimited.
I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich which was solidly good. Nothing surprising about it, but I liked the sweet bbq sauce, smoked melted gouda, and crispy toasted bread. It was also very large.
I heard good things about the massive bait burger as well. The jambalaya received mixed reviews from my friends - I tried it, and found it normal though there might have been too much cornstarch in the sauce (make it kind of thick and glazy-looking).
We were undecided among the desserts but decided on the chocolate malt ball ice cream per the waitress' recommendation. It was very creamy and a great way to end the meal.
I saw lots of other things on the menu that I would definitely come back to try.
This turned out to be a really fun night- I came with a few friends to celebrate the big 2-4 and enjoy some healthy food (ha). Very much enjoyed everything- I had the BBQ chicken sandwich, and the sauce was so deliciously tangy. I subbed in a side of mac and cheese, and it was particularly yummy as well- nice and cheesy, with a good baked cheese crust on top. I also had a hush puppy (which was good, and not greasy, which surprised me- I don't think I've had non-greasy hush puppies before) and a bite of my friend's candied yams. I wish the marshmallows had been baked on, so they could get the browned crust and melty thing going on- that's the best part! And then I also split BOTH the key lime pie (very good, although the crust was not my most favorite) and the brownie a la mode (good, and HUGE).
Is this too much food? Perhaps. But if you're going to go for fatty, artery-clogging Southern food, go all out- especially if it's your birthday. And wash it all down with the Creole punch, it's delicious (and not all that strong, which I suppose would normally bother me, but it was a Thursday).
I suppose you could say I'll be comin' back now, y'hear? (Sorry.)
Comfort food in a comfortable setting!
Live Bait was all that I imagined. I was looking for some good Southern cooking in a relaxed atmosphere. I love that the bar area and restaurant area are well-separated, as it seems that the bar becomes crowded as of 5pm and through the night as businesspeople in the area get off of work. On a Tuesday evening at 6pm the bar was full, and the restaurant was empty, but that suited me fine.
Our waitress was very friendly and not overbearing. She brought us some warm bite-sized pieces of cornbread that tasted great, especially with a little butter! I ordered the Grilled Boneless Breast of Chicken marinated In Rosemary, Garlic, Lemon Olive Oil ($10.95) which came with two sides, so I was able to enjoy the Mac 'n Cheese and the French Fries. My friend ordered the Gumbo and loved it.
I'd definitely go back to Live Bait!
Oh my gosh, I am so glad to have found this place here on Yelp!!
Over a year ago, my roommate and I came here for an early dinner, and we were famished and each ordered a platter of food. It was so delicious and the portions were so large that my dear roomie literally had to LAY DOWN in the booth to recover for a while before resuming eating.
To this day, we still talk about it. "Remember that place where the food was so good, I had to lay down?" she'll say. "We really need to find that place again."
Now that I found it, I am definitely going back!!
The seafood AND the barbecue selections are great! The cocktails are delicious as well!
It's the kind of place where on a Saturday around 3:30 am, you can pull off smoking a joint inside of the bar.
Live Bait is a very reliable sit-down casual lunch spot. From time to time the lunch or after work crowd gets unmanageable and service suffers, but the service is generally attentive. It is the rare Southern theme restaurant that actually delivers the goods, and this is just just a place.
The barbecue chicken sandwich, fried grouper sandwich, and jerk chicken sandwich are all fantastic. The pulled pork sandwich is also serviceable - we're not talking Daisy Mae's here, but it's good. Make sure they bring you the bright green bottle of habanero hot sauce if you like it spicy - I don't know where they get the stuff but it's high octane. For bar food, the peel and eat shrimp are usually just right, especially with the hush puppies. Every time I've ordered raw oysters they've been plump and sweet.
