This place is really  tucked away in a strip mall so keep your GPS on when you go here.

I wasn't sure what to expect based on the previous reviews.  I was pleasantly surprised when I sunk my teeth into my selections.  The Miso soup here is really, really good.  They have a surprisingly wide variety of rolls and the fish was fresh.  The ambiance was pleasant, but of the strip mall heritage.  Very friendly service.  I don't know that it would be worth a trip across town, but if you got a sushi Jones you can't shake, and you are in the neighborhood,  then it won't leave you wanting!!!

It really is a little hole in the wall nestled in the corner and doesn't seat very many people at all (maybe 25)..but the prices are good and the fish is fresh..the sushi is the BEST in the ENTIRE area! and i hate letting out the secret but i guess you all need to know..the ginger dressing on the salad is really good (one time they put too much and i felt like i was having soup instead of salad), there are many many rolls to choose from and they also have larger meals and bento boxes for those not into sushi and sashimi. They just surprised us one day and were like here try out the dynamite roll on the house..man was it huge and oh so GOOD.

The prices are SO GOOD and the beers are cheap so if you haven't checked this place out it is time to head over..the service is sometimes a little slow but they are truly very friendly people and will make your visit enjoyable. Maybe you could go for a date, the ambiance is cozy and nice plus the movies and some shopping centers are really close by. Enjoy!

I'm by no means an expert on sushi but I really enjoy going to Little Tokyo. My daughter recommended this place to me and she lives in League City. I wanted to learn about sushi and told my waitress I was totally ignorant regarding this. She was very pleasant and a great help asking what my likes and dislikes were. She then proceeded to offer recommendations based on my comments explaining the differences. The beer was nice, cold and very reasonably priced. All my experiences here have been pleasant. The only drawback is it is a little small and can get crowded. The patrons are friendly and also offer helpful suggestions, without getting annoying.

Now...I know this place is in Pasadena and *well* off the beaten path for most people, but this is seriously the standard by which I judge all other sushi joints I've been to since. You will not find better prices or fresher fish anywhere in this whole city, I promise. Little Tokyo also has an extensive list of unique rolls that you won't see anywhere else, many concocted by some of their first customers when they openned in 2002. My favorite is the Chelsea roll. It is a small place, but the owner and staff are all good people and care about the restaurant and its customers. It's honestly worth it to hop on the Beltway and make the journey out there if you've never been.

This is a decent sushi place.  It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but it's still good.

Best sushi ever!!! Its healthy, and it tastes great! A personal favorite is the crunch roll and the california roll. Everything is fresh. Very dim lights so prepare to adjust from sunshine to vampire dark. But hey, it works! Friendly service. A bit pricy but its ok to splurge every now and then, esp if the food is very good. Little Tokyo gets 5 chopstiks out of 5!

I went here for the 1st time a couple of years ago because a friend of mine recommended the place to me.  I am not a "big time" sushi eater.  Really kind of a whimpy sushi eater if you want to know the truth (California Rolls, Spicy Tuna Rolls, Rock N Rolls...  You get the point).  And I also have to order all of my sushi with soy paper because I hate the way the nori tastes.  I am very sensitive to things that taste fishy... BLAH!  Anyway, the first time I visited Little Tokyo I thought the sushi was terrible.  I asked my friend that recommended the place if maybe they were having a bad day... she said no, that is tasted fine to her.  So, I did not go back to this place till a few weeks ago when another friend recommended it again.  And I figured... why not give the place another chance.  I again ordered my whimpy sushi... and again it was terrible.  I was also being safe and ordered a meal just in case the sushi was terrible... before the meal came out and after tasting the sushi I was grateful that I did order the meal, because I was still hungry because I could not choke down the sushi.  I did try... believe me.  I felt like I was on "Fear Factor".  Anyway... when my meal arrived (teriyaki beef) it was also terrible.  I ordered that item because I thought...  "Who could possibly mess up teriyaki beef?"  Well... now I have the answer to that question.  But I do have to say the only thing that was terrible about this place was the food... My order came out as ordered... and the wait staff was very nice and helpful.
