10 reviews for Little Radio Warehouse
I found out about Little Radio Summer Camp on Tuesday and on Saturday I was there. For $15 you get a water slide, pool, AstroTurfed parking lot, great recorded music, great live music...oh yeah and FREE and UNLIMITED alcohol. OK, the alcohol is Cult 45, Rize caffeinated guava 7% alckie-pop, and wine-in-a-can, but hello...IT'S FREE.
The space is awesome. Half warehouse, half outdoor yard. See the photos to understand just how cool it is.
I couldn't give it five stars as one of the indoor bathrooms had a lake in a corner (it was so gross). Also, the sound bounces off the brick walls and concrete floor and a clangier band (like, I don't know, No Age) sounds awful. I was so happy I brought earplugs, let me tell ya.
Be sure to bring cash for the door and extra for the food and other fun stuff to buy (like shoes).
Lastly, as a word of warning, just because alcohol is FREE and UNLIMITED don't go overboard. Let's just say I was with someone who was and he wasn't a happy 'camper' by the end of the day. The group I was with went to Scoops after wards and saw another group with another very drunken camper. It's easy to have one too many when you're not shelling out money.
AOK ... Dead Weather friends!
At one point I would have given Little radio 5 stars, but they just aren't consistent with their drink prices. Every time I go down there the drinks are a different price.
With that said, where else can you go to smoke, drink and listen to AMAZING bands until the wee hours of the early mornings???
I've yet to see this place hold a bad show. I don't ever want to see that, and with Dave at the wheel, I know I never will!
I think Little Radio is all about Summer BBQ's, booze, music, friends, photos (and a photo booth) more music and more booze, and damn-it, I think that's just swell.
For when you're in need of another great independent radio station..
This is a crown jewel of la indie culture- simultaneously a killer event space, functioning internet radio state and- AND- Electric Car franchisee! Locating in scenic "downtown" los angeles, you won't forget your first visit to the little radio warehouse.
The shows occur sporadically and when the guys who run the place feel like it, when they go off- they go off. Major label bands (indie major label bands) will often play when they are in town to record or coming through the area.
Awesome venue that it may be, it is not highly rated on the amenities tip- bathroom area is pretty... uh... unstructured. The ware house actually consists of two building that are linked by an outdoor walkway/incipent death trap. The office area functions as an (equally as large as the venue itself) "VIP" area during concerts.
An internet radio station 24/7 located in downtown LA that also hosts an array of secret shows for some very big bands. It's a warehouse space with a great sound system, bar, and set-up that you would never know existed unless you were told. Past shows include BRMC, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Charlatans UK, Spoon, Sonic Youth, and more. Check the website http://www.littleradio... to listen to the station. Missing a star until they get a better Air Conditioning system.
Best eventspace ever. barcampla events here are superb. great art on the walls. interesting functional space. modern.
They revamped the space and it's killer. Had one of the most fun nights of the year months back when they had live music incl. Giant Drag and tons of free booze in celebration of the launch of L.A. Electric Cars. Yes, they really are importing and selling electric cars and it's a killer deal.
Jimmy and the rest of the Little Radio crew put on some awesome shows and events here. The warehouse itself is nicely laid out and coated in awesome works of art. What's more, there's always a very personable vibe going on - and that's something you don't get at a lot of venues.
ive been listening to the Get The Fuck Up radio show online since the days it was actually the buddyhead radio show and on killradio(thats alot of the word radio) .so now they are on little radio and Ive been impressed with all the other programming on the station ive heard .if you like "indie" music this should be your jam!
