Recently introduced to "LPK," I now swear by it and wouldn't bother going anywhere else for a sub.  The type of grinder shop that pushes the envelope with their portions and combinations - in  the "Man vs. Food" and "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" style.  However, unlike West Newton Pizza on Washington St., which attempts a similarly ambitious and indulgent menu, it TASTES GOOD!

Some of my favorites - the "Big Boy" - buffalo chicken sub with bleu cheese and french fries stuffed inside, and the "Ranger," bbq chicken sub with bacon bits and fresh mozzarella cheese, and the "Raging Bull" (grilled and chopped turkey, pastrami and roast beef).  And I'm sure there are many more choices that I would really enjoy.

Don't mind the comments about the etiquette of the employees - they are just pizza shop guys - it's not the Mandarin Oriental....

AVOID WHEN POSSIBLE!! I only go here very occasionally cuz its a block from my apt. Here's my last 3 visits...

late sept - Ordered a calzone. showed up to pick it up as someone else was leaving the store. I ask for my order, they argue in greek or something and then say "That guy has your calzone!! Go stop him before he drives off!!" "Me?" I say. "You go get him." They did nothing. Just said it would be a few mins to make another calzone. 5 minutes later they are still arguing and my calzone hasnt even been started to be made. I said forget it and left. I went to Imperial Pizza down the street. That place rocks.

Mid october - I order a BLT and its ready on time. I get home and have a loaded italian. I cant eat Hots so I couldnt eat it. so I went back. AGAIN they argue for a while in another language before they start making my sub. AGAIN, I leave angry.

Yesterday - I order a steak n cheese sub and buffalo fingers. They say 10-15mins. I show up about 15mins later. They say a couple more minutes. I see a mound of cooked steak just sitting on the hot griddle and them just putting my fingers in the fryer. 10 mins later I get my food with an attitude. steak was BURNT, crunchy and dry. fingers were mediocre.

Needless to say, I wont be going here again. Its a 3-5 man operation and they cant stay organized. They have horrible business ethics and customer service. I've been working in restaurants for over 15 yrs in the kitchen and front of house. These guys suck. I can go to subway for cheaper and quicker sandwiches and imperial pizza for GREAT pizza and calzones. STAY AWAY unless u like being disappointed

I just moved to Brighton and my roommate suggested that we order from here last night. I ordered the steak and cheese and my roommate ordered the Mount Everest. As soon as our food arrived and he opened his dinner container, I was wicked jealous. Don't get me wrong, my steak and cheese was delicious (highly recommend). His dinner looked and tasted awesome (he shared). Chicken, steak tips, ribs, and fries for like $11?Ordering that next time! He had a ton left over (and he can eat a lot), which I may or may not have eaten.

Quick delivery and a great price. Definitely my new go-to!

I walked into this place cause I was shopping in the area, and I got hungry.  It looked good from the outside, so I went in.  I figured I couldn't go wrong ordering a few slices of pepperoni pizza and a soda.  The guy at the register took my order, and my money, then without washing his hands, he took a few cheese slices from atop the oven, and grabbed a handful of pepperoni and started putting the pepperoni on the slices of pizza like he was dealing a deck of cards.  He totally palmed my pepperoni with his bare hands, after working the register.  I watched him the whole time, and after I asked him, "Did you wash your hands first?" He had the nerve to lie right to my face and say, "Of course!"  I complained to the manager and left.  The manager agreed that he should not be working the register AND dealing with food.  What an idiot, so dirty and disrespectful.  Never eat there.

I've only had their cheese pizza, but it's the nearest to NYC style pizza I've found in Boston. My roommate ordered from them numerous times and never had any issues with delivery. I've ordered online once for delivery and didn't have any issues. The pizza was what I order and expected, was warm, and came within the estimated delivery window. Based on some of the Yelp reviews though I think I'll just stick to cheese pizza.

OK, I feel like this place tends to fly under the radar, but it's never disappointed me!  I live in the neighborhood and do both takeout and delivery - both of which are always fast, fresh, and delicious.  The pizza is solid (my boyfriend and I love the chicken alfredo one), the fries are hot, & the hot dogs are big & beefy.  I'm moving later this month and this is one of the local food joints that I will really miss!

My experience with litthe Pizza King began with cold food and ended with a psychopathic delivery driver. If you want phone calls at 1am (6 hours after ordering your food) or to be followed the next night into an aisle at CVS while said psycho waves a Foodler receipt inyour face, by all means. Order food here.

The Story: I ordered food via Foodler from Little Pizza King to be delivered at Rogers Park, directly across from a friend's house, where some friends and I were enjoying the indian summer weather.  We ordered 2 subs, some onion rings, and a soda.  An hour later, no food.

Eventually, the delivery driver rolls up in an orange Honda (looks a little expensive on a delivery driver's salary, but...whatever), 3 other people in tow, and clearly confused because I approached him from the park.  (To clarify, my delivery instructions said we'd be there street side and to call when he arrived.  That call never came).

He handed me my food, barely getting out of the car and took off. I am literally holding a fistfull of cash in my hand and he drove away. I was in the park for an additional 2 hours, he never returned. I assumed maybe it was a freebie for my cold shitty food delivered in nearly 2 hours from 6 blocks away.

    How wrong I was.

Psycho delivery driver from hell showed up at my friend's house at midnight looking for money.  She promptly told him he messed up on the job and should pay the consequences (the 18 bucks) and take responsibility for the fact he messed up.  He began to argue with her and then proceeded to call my phone a DOZEN times.  When we all threatened to call the cops, he stopped calling and left my friend's house in Brighton.

Next day, while visiting the same friend, the psycho delivery driver approaches me in the AISLE at CVS and followed my friend out.  Cue the music from Psycho, this guy is a NIGHTMARE.

I work in the service industry and last I checked, when I screw up, I don't approach the patrons of my restaurant in public the next day and ask for money.  I don't charge a card if I didn't run a check.  Get a grip.  Maybe don't get so high next time you're delivering food.  When you're clear-headed you might be able to remember to COLLECT for your GOODS and SERVICES.

No bad take out story in my life even comes closeto this one. Food was cold and not prepared to my specifications on TOP of the psycho driver.

Dropping this down to 3 stars due to their lack of customer service.  They just don't care about their customers at all and act like you are bothering them by picking up your order/placing one.

I am new to the Brighton area and wanted some comfort food! My go to is always pizza because you really can't mess it up. Thank god I chose little pizza king because it was DELISH!

I ordered a small cheese pizza (the price is unbeatable and if you order on http://eat24hours.com you can find amazing deals) and added green pepper and garlic. They did not skimp on the garlic at all. It was fresh minced garlic that tasted amazing combined with the cheesy peppery pizza.

I also ordered a chicken caesar salad and it comes with a piece of pita bread. The chicken tasted fresh and the marinade or seasonings they had on was out of this world. It was the perfect pair with the crisp lettuce. Also, the salad was HUGE. Aside from the salad alone being huge they give you 3 chicken breast tenders.

I will for sure be going back!

Why I give them a total score of 3 is because they are rude, very rude. They don't smile or greet you at all. They will be be telling each other stories when you are coming in and they will make you wait a few minutes until they are done with their conversation before they even acknowledge your presence.

Typical experience, and half the time they even got our order wrong. And that happened wayyyy too many times.

Overall though, their pizza does not deter me from going there.
Their pizza is the best I've had in Brighton. The crust is on the thicker side and it's nice, flaky, and buttery. I have to give a full 5 stars for their pizza.

Their other food; not so much. I didn't try too much but never really felt compelled to either. The sandwiches I tried were just mediocre and I haven't bothered with a anything else.

Reluctantly went back because coworker wanted to grab a quick lunch.  The guys behind the counter have no appreciation for customers in the way they no-greet customers.  Their attitude is like what do you want?

I just ordered a plain slice of cheese pizza which tasted dry and dough is too thick.

Anyways, this pizza place does not make their own dough, but use frozen undated dough.   It's not a real pizza place unless you roll and knead your own dough.

I wouldn't feed their food to a homeless dog on the street. My husband and I ordered two subs and their "wings." When we went to pay for our food, the owner gave us the wrong amount of change back. He told us he gave us the right amount of change. When we explained how much our order cost and the money we gave him, he finally  openly admitted that he gave us the wrong about of change! I wonder how many times he does that and gets away with it. I would describe the food as greasy and slimy. After two bites of my sub I had to throw it away. I didn't feel like I was eating human food. Even the smell of it was disgusting. The "wings" were just fried lard. I've never felt more sick after eating food than when I ate "food" from Little Pizza King. Please eat anywhere else!

I've been ordering food from here for years now, even during the epic move of .. some years ago when they relocated a whole two storefronts down. And despite the number of pizza and sub places popping up around Brighton lately, I still always come back to Little Pizza King when I find myself thinking for more than five minutes about whether I have the energy to cook something myself. The answer is pretty much always going to be no.

Anywho, on to the relevant things. While it'll never be considered gourmet, LPK still has a lot of things going for them. Their menu is expansive and there's almost anything to suit whatever guilty craving you have. They deliver quickly, even during snowstorms. And sometimes, they even know my address without my having to tell them. Is that customer service or what? Or is it because I've been calling too often?

Things that I've ordered and liked (and can remember right now):
    - Chicken Diablo Pasta (pretty spicy, and good for when you need something with that kick)
    - Honey Mustard Chicken Bacon Salad (always comes with an extra container of dressing for when you really don't want to taste anything natural)
    - Pasta with Chicken Alfredo/Chicken with Broccoli (how can anyone really mess this up?)
    - Grilled Cajun Chicken Salad (the chicken might be dry, but the sauce pretty much fixes that)
    - Cobb Salad (anything with bacon is pretty much a homerun with me)
    - Cajun/Cheese Fries (their fries are those big thick ones, and lemme channel Rachel Ray while I say this: YUM-O)
    - Tuna Melt Sub (be sure to have some gum ready when you're done)

Very good delivery pizza.  The boneless buffalo wings are the best in Boston meat wise but the sauce could use a tune-up...4 out of 5 stars on the wings.

The subs shine here, as do many of the usual suspect appetizers.
And mega-kudos to the delivery guy.  For the last few years it's always the same guy, friendly and quick...and he never forgets the soda.  Why do delivery folk always forget the soda?

Just finished eating yummy delivery from Little Pizza King. It definitely was not our healthiest meal, but it sure did taste good! My boyfriend and I ordered jalapeno poppers to start and they were delicious. Too often when you bite into jalapeno poppers the whole jalapeno comes out with it, but not the ones from here. There is plenty of delicious filling and the jalapeno snaps with every bite. Very good.

Next we each ordered a sub. I got the steak and cheese sub and it was delicious. No chewy meat and not too greasy. My boyfriend had a bigger appetite and went with the "Big Boy," which is a buffalo chicken tender sub with french fries and blue cheese. He added pineapples to it too (sounds strange, but adds a great texture and flavor). He, and I quote, said, "This may be the best sub I've ever tasted." That is a huge compliment coming from him.

Our only complaint is that the food was room temperature when it arrived, but sometimes that's the chance you take when you order delivery.

Although alot of yelpers have said LPK rivals NY pizza I do not agree.  I am also from NY and while LPK's pizza is good (it's greek style with the thick crust) it's definitely not NY caliber.  However, living in Brighton I typically turn to LPK for a quick dinner option, the Usual Pizza is my fav.  Tonight I had the chicken caesar salad and it was also really good.

I stay away from the italian dinners though, it's like eating a bar of butter.

I've ordered from this place several times and while the food I get usually tastes great, this has got to be one of the most inconsistent places I've ordered from.  I'll start with the good: the delivery guy has always been super nice!

Now to the bad starting with my most recent example: just ordered a Typhoon pasta dish, veal fettucini, a cajun chicken dinner plate, and a couple drinks.  Did not get the veal fettucini nor the cajun chicken, got teriyaki instead, which wouldn't be a problem if the plate wasn't bland grilled chicken vaguely resembling teriyaki with one-minute instant white rice(taking a guess on the exact type of rice, moral=really bad)...  The guy who has taken the orders every time has ranged from rude to indifferent, guys need to take a lesson from Bravo's Pizza on customer service.  Lastly, the pasta dishes I've ordered never come with consistent portions.  I heard that you could get two meals out of one of their plates, but one I ordered a couple weeks ago had more toppings than actual pasta.

I'm done giving them my business for now or until I want to emotionally eat and am too lazy to look up pasta delivery elsewhere.  Don't have a complicated menu if you can't handle making it.

    Stop messing with me LPK!

I had a three-month long love affair with Little Pizza King that abruptly ended last week.  Here's my story:

My girlfriend and I used to order from this place so often that they knew who we were and where the order was going just by the way I said "hello" when they picked up the phone.  It was sad really, but oh so satisfying.  She used to get a large pepperoni calzone with mozzarella balls (13 bucks) and I would get a large monster calzone (also 13 bucks).  They are big enough so that we'd put a huge dent in them and still have enough for lunch the next day.. if it managed to last past breakfast.

After spending close to $400 there in the span of three months, our kitchen no longer had any room to stack empty pizza boxes.  That didn't stop us, but it should have because our next three orders were screwed up big time.  They forgot to put some ingredients in my calzone (a different ingredient each time; once they forgot EVERY INGREDIENT except the mozzarella cheese.. how does that happen?!)  The yummy calzone taste suffered greatly but I ate them anyway since it takes 45 minutes for them to deliver to Newton Corner.  Mess up once and I eat it, shame on me.  Mess up twice and I eat it, shame on me again.  Mess up three times and I eat it, I stop ordering.

I'm sorry Little Pizza King but you're now my Little Pizza Court Jester.  We're through.

(PS: It makes it easier to end our relationship because they're only open until midnight on weekends which stops me from forgetting I'm mad at them and ordering an intoxicated 1 AM meal.)

Just ate a pepperoni pie.  Over all it was only fair, but the crust was fluffy and very good.  Very greasy and I'm actually feeling a little woozy right now, but maybe that's because I ate so fast.

So, I'm amending my review because a few hours latter and my stomach still aches, and I still feel woozy... and If i don't feel better when I get home I'm gonna kill that little pizza king.

    Lil' Pizza King!

That is how the LPK delivery man always announces himself over the intercom. Whenever I visit my sisters in Brighton, more often than not we end up ordering from LPK, and every time it's hilarious. We have ordered there more times than I can even begin to count.

The pizza is decent. Remember I am a total pizza snob, so I have definitely had better. Sometimes it's perfect. Just the right amount of crisp or pepperoni. Other times it's a little undercooked and the cheese has some serious trouble staying on because of it. It is really good hangover pizza though regardless of how cooked it is. That's for sure. The grease soaks up all the booze.

The subs are pretty good too. I've gotten turkey subs and BLT subs, and each time I'm satisfied. It's a ton of food, so I always have a hard time finishing it, but you could always save it for later depending on what kind you get. When you ask for fries, they fill and entire paper bag with fries. You'll never be fry-less during your meal, even if you share with a group.

I enjoy LPK, and I like the delivery workers, too. They are very nice, and they always make fun of my sisters for ordering from there yet again.

Little Pizza King, can I be your Little Pizza Queen?

On the rare occasion that I commit treason and don't order Papa Gino's pizza, (usually a friend's decision) I have Little Pizza King. I really like their pizza, greek salad and onion rings. All very good and very cheap. I have never eaten inside the place though I have walked by and from the looks of it, it is bright and clean.

The delivery guy carries a credit card machine which is awesome for those people like myself who don't carry cash for fear of spending it on inane things like $75 purchases at CVS. (What!?!) Also, the food itself isn't very expensive. Yum.

Wow...i was really, really hungry.  I mean, really, REALLY hungry.  I hear of this little hole in the wall on Washington St...."one of the best chicken cutlet in the city"...I'm in.

30 Minutes later I had eaten a chicken parm sub that was the size of a Prius (driver included), and it was awesome (thanks Peet).  Seriously, good chicken (not split up pucks), fresh roll, and perfectly tangy sauce.  Simple?  yes.  Delicious?...hell yeah.

AND I think I got out of there for like $7, too...given the size of the sandwich, I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

This place isn't the best pizza joint in town, but it's definitely good. We ordered a large pizza with hamburger, green peppers and mushrooms and it was absolutely delicious. The crust isn't too chewy which I like. It was a little greasy but I find my favorite pizzas to be a little high on the grease factor anyway.  A little dab of the napkin on the pizza should be just fine. They have other stuff too like subs and sandwiches in case you're not a fan of pie.
The interior isn't great. In fact I probably never want to eat there, although I did hear that they are moving a block away. Hopefully it will be nicer inside.

I got a really delicious thing from here, a Cajun Chicken Sub. It was loaded with spiced chicken, loaded like an open face sandwich. It was a bit pricy, but tasty so I forgot about the price pretty quickly.

The only thing I found lacking is the service. I don't recall even getting a 'hello', pretty much just an empty business-only-no-funny-stuff stare. So while the service loses a star, the food was still pretty damn good.

I feel like I want to give this place more stars to compensate for the bad reviews--3 is probably the most accurate though. I liked the eggplant sub I got a lot. It was huge and tasty and only $6.00.The guys working there seemed friendly enough to me. I'm sure I'll come again because it's close to where I live.

update: I left my wallet here by accident and although they didn't call me (they had no way of doing so, my number wasn't in it) I was so happy to get it back. Now I really like Little Pizza King.

Local, eccentrically staffed pizza place that's always fun to pick up from, thought they do offer delivery...

Pizzas, gyros, garlic bread and calzones... all just greasy enough to sate your craving and not wreck your gut...

Cheap and delicious - if you're eating pizza in Brighton you can't go wrong with Little Pizza King...

My trusted neighborhood place fo rsubs and delivery.  Try anything with chicken cutlets as theirs are full of juicy real white meat and fried perfectly.  Especially try my standby "The Cowboy."  Although I sometimes feel strange saying, "Give me a large cowboy" it is worth it for this delicious combo of buffalo chicken cutlets, bacon, and ranch dressing.
The delivery is almost always prompt, which is a bonus too.
Ironically, in my opinion the pizza is mediocre at best - a little too greasy.  Try a sub instead and you won't be left hungry.

Meh.  I ordered in from here because my fave pasta place, Sabatino's, was closed for the night (srsly, Sabatino's, man up and stay open late).  Ordered two pasta dishes for two people.

On the upside: The portions were HUUUUUGE, the pasta tasted fresh, the garlic bread that accompanied each meal was big and tasty, and the prices are right.  And the delivery?  Super super fast.

On the downside: We totally did not receive the food we ordered; instead, we got two of the same dish (boooring).  The pesto was weak, and the chicken pieces a little too blackened.

It should go without saying that 3 stars is not a negative review.
On Super Bowl Sunday, when my friends waited 2 hours for their order at Papa Johns, we cancelled and called Little Pizza King instead. We got 2 large pizzas with 2 toppings here for $30.
On an average day, that is a bit expensive in my book. But it was ready for pick up in 10 minutes after calling it in. Amazing. And after waiting 2 hours for something to eat, it seemed worth it at the time.
I can't say too much about their pizza because:
    1. I am very picky about pizza. Although I am extremely partial to Chicago style pizza, I can enjoy a good NY Style.
    2. All the pizzas I eat, no matter how NY Style it is, I need it to have a very flavor tomato sauce and be able to hold a shape.
This pizza was filling and by no means did I hate it.
It was weird though because I had to roll it up in order to eat it. I would say that the crust and the area around the crust was great, but since the tip of the pizza was so thin and everything fell off,the rest of it was pretty flavorless.

I ordered three large cheese, three large pepperoni pizzas and the chicken finger dinner for my classes (16 students).  They loved it!  I was happy with the quality of pizza- being from NY I'm pretty picky, and the service was great.  I ordered the night before, and they delivered right to my classroom's door!

I also liked that he brought the handheld credit card machine so I could pay right there, rather than give it over the phone.

Yum yum! My cousin, his girlfriend and I were in the mood for takeout tonight. He got BBQ steak tips and she and I went for the spaghetti and meat balls. We could've split one order! The portions are huge!

The delivery was fast and the prices are great. The spaghetti sauce was very good in my opinion. I also enjoyed the side of garlic bread which was very well seasoned and crispy. The meatballs were a bit small but very moist and they definitely taste homemade.

I can't wait to try the other menu options. It all looked so good!!

This place used to be our go-to pizza place. My roommate Jess is obsessed with their macaroni and cheese bites. (which taste just like every other place's mac and cheese bites IMHO) I really like their buffalo chicken pizza. We still order from here like once a week except I am going to issue a huge CAVEAT: do not EVER buy a gift card to this place.

Every place seems to issue gift cards these days, right? Well, the people here do not have the ability to use more than one method of purchase. Say whaaaat? I've been to Target and put like 22.34 on a gift card, paid 10 in cash and put the rest on a credit card. Sure, it might be a rather douchey thing to do but you can do it. NOT HERE. We ordered for the whole house and then tried to use my 10 dollar gc and then pay with a credit card and they said no. I gave him a "seriously?" look and he said I would have to buy something that cost less than the value on the card. This is not okay. What if I end up spending 8.50 on a small cheese--then I can just forget about the other buck fifty? Get a life, LPK. Stop selling useless gift cards.

    ...but your food is good.

Okay. We did not do subs... instead, since the new menu had it, and we were hankering for it, we were looking for a nice Fish n Chips and everyone is stupidly expensive... but not LPK!

A very good deal at $9, there was an entire half of a fish, about half a pound, a little greasy but light, hot, and it is not tasteless fish: so if you don't like fish, this may not be for you. We ordered it "default" to get what it comes with, which was a good pile of hot, crispy fries (the new style, with the light coating that keeps them crispy longer that BK introduced years ago) and they were cooked perfectly and not greasy. There was a large amount of pretty ordinary sweet/tart Tartar Sauce and no salad, which was promised on the menu. Instead there was a somewhat overly runny coleslaw... which actually was delicious, though drippy, and tasted like they shredded the cabbage for the order. It really had an excellent cabbage flavor and crisp, unpreserved texture to it, so we were not too miffed.

On the side, we order the Onion Rings again. They were even better than the first time! Piping hot, surprisingly less greasy and cooked just right: crispy, crunchy, chewy but not tough, and the flavor was enjoyable enough to not bother with ketchup. Very nice!

Both orders were in Black Foam Clamshell "boxes" that close okay and in a sign of confidence, the fish n chips and the rings were in aluminum wrap inside, so any grease would be obvious... and there wasn't any, really. Impressive.

I ordered on the phone. NO LANGUAGE PROBLEM AT ALL. Same guy delivered as before, very friendly (must be an employee) and smiling, remembered me, said hello by my first name, even though i did not give my name this time (phone number triggered their system, it would seem) so i'm pretty happy with these guys.

They have moved up to Full Four Star Status, which for a Greek Pizza/Sub Joint is pretty good!

They have earned my repeat and regular business thus far, and i will try more of their menu over time.

I am a fan and we both like their food so far!

I LOVE pizza and always have.  It's tough to find a pizza joint that pleases me thoroughly.  What I mean by that is that the crust does not come out too thick/thin and does not taste like it never went into the oven, the tomato sauce has enough flavor to stand its ground between the cheese and dough (and obviously the oven), and the cheese doesn't overpower EVERYTHING.

Little Pizza King does just that.  First stopped by here for a quick slice while waiting for some friends to go over to Athans (which is next door).  I had a slice and it was amazing and promised myself to go again one day.

Ordered a Large Cheese and Tomato Pizza for the Celtics game 2 Sundays ago and man was it good.  Every bite was perfect.  The crust was had a snap when u bit into it but it didnt require excessive chewing.  The tomato sauce was still "wet" and not dry like other places after it goes through the oven.  The tomatos made the pizza feel "light" and it somehow made us believe that the  pizza was a nice "healthy" choice.

The PaPa Johns on Washington St. will NEVER get my business again.  I look forward to trying their other pizza flavors.

Four stars only cuz the Pizza was carved into ridiculously sized slices.  Also, my bro-in-law has tried their subs and said they were horrible.  Might be true considering half the posts here =/

My boyfriend and I order from here at least once a week.  They take credit cards/debit cards at the door when they deliver.  Wake up other delivery places, this is a great idea!

They don't get 5 stars because I don't really trust their chicken.  But everything else is awesome, they deliver almost always at the time they say they will and their pizza and calzones are excellent.

Pretty solid pizza/sub takeout place in Brighton Center.

    Pros:
    -Above average, massive subs
-One of the largest menus I've ever seen in a sub shop, always something new to try
    -Very good pizza deals

    Cons:
-Not much seating (not that it matters if you're ordering out)
-Pizza is nothing special (and Brickhouse is right down the street)
