I took a huge chance and ordered ~120 mini cupcakes from Little Piggy after only reading the reviews on Yelp. I'm glad I did. I had a big party with a ton of people at my house and the cupcakes were a huge hit.
A few tips:
-If you are placing an order on her site, plan ahead! She has a deadline for when you need to place orders for the coming week. (My party was on a Saturday, so I placed my order prior to Wednesday of that week).
- I chose to have her pick the toppings (sprinkles) for the cupcakes and I'm really glad I did. They turned out SO cute
- The bacon maple cupcakes are pretty good, but the red vevet were fantastic.
All in all, I would order from her again. The cupcakes were great, she is very nice, and the whole thing was very convenient.
5 stars. -

This Little Piggy went to Market.
This Little Piggy walked around
This Little Piggy found another and true happiness was found!
Little Piggy Bakery is a Cupcakery dealing in Scrumptuality. Whole, fresh and real ingredients all come together to make a moist, light and taste delight that you will be happy you discovered. Well, acutally YOU didn't. I TOLD you. But, you can go to the Sunday Farmer's Market in San Rafael and take ALL the credit.
Flavors like chocolate with chocolate ganache, red velvet with cream cheese, white with strawberry, lemon with curd and cream cheese, even pumpkin in tiny tiny bite size (small ones don't count in calories) to full size yum.Listed in: My Fifteen Minutes

The owner of Little Piggy, Tina, is very nice and definitely aims to please when asked to make her cupcakes to order for special events.
She was very accommodating when she requested prepayment, but I didn't have time to run a check or cash over to farmers' market or Little Piggy headquarters in Terra Linda. Tina set up a PayPal account and we were right as rain.
The minis were a big hit at a 3-year-old birthday party with the kids. I'd like to try them again for an adult party now that there are so many more flavor options.
Little Piggy Cupcakes are boasted as organic, but I'd double-check especially when ordering the red velvet. They were very red as red velvet should be, but when I've used organic dyes, they tend to look very dull in comparison.
Hop on the cupcake craze and put Little Piggy Cupcakes to the test! -

I worked with Tina on my big Ladies First event for STAR 101.3 FM and she and the cupcakes were GREAT! She is super nice, easy to work with and the cupcakes are amazing!
I fell in love with the lemon ones!
We had them served by cute men in tuxs on platters to all the women while Nick Lachey sang....does it get any better then that?? -

First off, I'm going to be upfront and say that the cupcake creator behind Little Piggy Cupcakes is my cousin. I've been meaning to write a review for a while because I feel it's important to address some of the negatives I've seen. So with the full context of where I'm coming from, please take my review for what it's worth.
For a long time--even before Little Piggy was born--I've had an obsession with cupcakes. They're hard to turn down and I love compartmentalizing desserts like tiramisu or strawberry shortcake into littler versions. So, if I thought Little Piggy's cupcakes were average or "eh," I would not bother writing a review. But honestly, they are all tasty, always fresh. And to address some of the other negative reviews:
No, they might not be the size of a Sprinkles but I think that's grasping at straws, we are probably talking millimeters here. I like Sprinkles, but Tina's frosting is better in that the sugar doesn't overwhelm everything. I'd rather get a 75-cent frosting shot from her. And she makes the best peanut butter frosting--tastes like Reeces! Her cupcakes cost less than Sprinkles or what some of these bigger chains charge either from their bakery or cupcake truck. For those really bothered, go to your grocery store. You can get plenty of cupcakes for cheaper but they'll probably all taste the same and rather boring.
As for her being unprofessional, I've never seen anyone work harder on perfecting recipes and making sure up to the last minute that cupcakes are perfect for a special order. If you go to the Web site, you can also see how she especially decorates cakes for little kids' birthdays. Sorry if someone had a bad experience but since I don't know the whole story, I won't say anymore. (However, I've never heard of anyone ordering cupcakes from a baker but wanting to use their own mix. Strange but to each, her own)
You may be wondering why I don't automatically rate Little Piggy five stars. It's because I love cupcakes so much (I will even go on cupcake crawls when in another city), that it's like choosing a favorite child. There really is no such thing. Even if I were served a gold-plated cupcake, I'd still be hesitant to rate it, hehe. But I can tell you, considering the care, attention and ingredients Little Piggy uses, they are pretty darn close! -

After reading the reviews on these cupcakes we made the trek down to the farmers market in Marin. Great morning to walk around and check out the goods. I got 2 choco/choco, wife, white / strawberry & choco / raspberry. I thought they were a little dry but the icing was good.

Tina created special cupcakes for my daughter's first birthday. Each cupcake had individual moon decorations that Tina individually made by hand. She was an absolute perfectionist when it came to creating each one and everyone at the party was astounded at how beautiful they were. They were incredibly delicious and she was an absolute wonder to work with. I would totally recommend Tina to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced, creative, tasty and completely unique cupcake.
On a side note, I am completely head over heels for her strawberry cupcake! It is not to be missed! -

I had Tina make the mini-cupcakes for my son's 3rd birthday party. The size was PERFECT for the kids and the adults who only wanted a taste. The adults who wanted more than a taste needed 2-3 to equal a regular sized cupcake. I didn't have anything fancy done to the cupcakes (just sprinkles on top) and they still looked cute. They were delicious!
My husband had a slight challenge when he went to pick them up the evening before the party. He arrived early and the man at the address didn't know anything about a cupcake order or really anything about the business. My husband then had to call Tina and figure out how to get the cupcakes because he didn't want to wait or make a second trip. So, I would say to make a clear pick-up arrangement.
The parents at the party kept talking about the cupcakes the following day so that is always a good sign! -

Really yummy little cakes! Even though it was near closing time during the Farmer's Market, we managed to get a small box of the tiny cupcakes (and by tiny, we mean they almost look fake because of their teacup size). Although it was hot and the frosting was melting, we could tell that these little cakes were very good.
P.S.- The owners of Little Piggy Cupcakes also own a bakery near Scotty's Market in San Rafael. Even though they were closed when we checked it out, it looked like they have yummy treats! -

They're good, but they're just absurdly small for $3 - probably 2/3 the size of the equivalent from Kara's, and half the size of a Sprinkles cupcake.
I realize cupcakes are all about paying for cutesy packaging and decoration, not volume, but still....(edited to add, I did pay $3 at the farmer's market and did receive the regular size.)Comment from Tina F. of Little Piggy Cupcakes 8/17/2009

We were working with Little Piggy on cupcakes for our wedding. We had corresponded several times to work out all the details, what we wanted, when & where, everything!
And then we get a final email from Tina that she can no longer accommodate us because we wanted to use our own cupcake mix (which she knew from the very beginning). It is very unprofessional to cancel a project in its final stages-- ESPECIALLY FOR A WEDDING!
Now we will look for an alternate baker 2 weeks before the big day and would never be able to trust that Tina will follow through with her promises. Seems like a sweet lady, but needs to get her business policies in order before making promises.Comment from Tina F. of Little Piggy Cupcakes 9/23/2009

Little Piggy cupcakes are honestly the best cupcakes handsdown to any other cupcake i have tasted! My three favorite cupcakes include the lemon, chocolate raspberry, and the vegan vanilla chocolate buttercream one. Yes she has the absolute most moist and delicious tasting vegan cupcake I have ever tasted. I also love the fact that she has the miniture cupcakes (which can help curb eating too many), or in my case allow me to have all three of my favorite flavors then instead of just one large cupcake! Tina herself is honestly the sweetest lady that you will ever meet she always has a smile on her face and offers delicious samples of her scrumpcious cupcakes to everyone!

These are tasty well-balanced cupcakes. The cupcake was not dry, but dense and moist. The icing was just right and tasted like butter cream should. I enjoyed the seasonal pumpkin cupcake.

Tina has spoiled me with her amazing cupcakes! They are moist & dense, but not heavy...the frosting is creamy but not overly sugary...she has found the perfect combination of flavor to texture! Now, only her cupcakes are "worth" the calories :-) In addition to her amazing cupcakes, Tina is the sweetest person who is a delight to work with and I look forward to her cheery face every Sunday at the Farmer's Market! You HAVE to try all the flavors because they are all so yummy in their own way.
