We went here for a work dinner the food was good but not spicy like I enjoy my indian. The service was really good the waiter had good recommendations and all our orders were accurate and great. The food was really flavorful and if you don't like spice it was perfect.
The dining room was quiet which made it good for conversations with a larger group. I think it would also be good for a romantic dinner.
I will never go back... food was OK. The biggest problem i had was with the cockroaches running around the kitchen and bathroom. YUCK!
Always a great place to go for a quick, fair priced, and tasty lunch. Buffet has limited choices and does not vary much from day to day. The nann is perfect. The tandori chicken is nearly perfect. Service is so-so, but there really isn't a lot of service to be had when it is a buffet setting. I do need to try for dinner.
The lunch buffet is the way to go. You get to sample about a eight different entrees, several sauces/condiments and a couple of desserts. The Alu Gobi (cauliflower and potatoes) is delicious; I could eat this stuff every day with plenty of naan, of course. Love naan; the Saag Paneer (spinach with cheese, not so much)
The only reason is that I've giving Little India four stars instead of five is that the two-top tables are really small; the space could and should be designed better. Service was fast and attentive.
FYI: Lunch buffet is now $8.95
Totally better than India House.
This place misses out on a lot of the swankier foot traffic due to it's slightly ghetto-fied location. It's a shame cuz you never see this place packed. Bang for your buck though, this place has awesome eats. In fact, we get pretty much the same damn thing every time we get take out (or, eat-in on rare occasion)...
The recipe for happiness:
-Chicken Tikki Masala
-Saag Paneer
-Garlic & Regular Naan
Bout 30 bucks all in all, so not the cheapest dinner in the world... but definitely the best deal for high-quality Indian dinner i've found anywhere, really. Taking influence from my boy Masta P...
make em say mmmmm Naan, na, naan naaaaaaa. K, i'm done.
We were looking for something a little different on St. Patty's Day, and we saw a white-bearded man with a sign for Little India flipping the sign and dancing. Well, it sold us.
My girlfriend and I got the lunch buffet, which was okay. The Makhni Chicken was tasty, and my girlfriend enjoyed the Alu Gobi. The Naan was mediocre and the rice didn't have much to cheer about either.
The service was alright. We didn't get checked on too often.
All said, if I'm in the area and really jonesing for Indian food, I'll head here again. I don't think I'd seek it out.
I've eaten Indian food in many different countries - England, Scotland, Singapore, Australia and cities around the U.S. and the dinner at Little India was the worst I have ever eaten!
The servings were very, very small considering the price and every dish was served on a huge bed of onions. The people at our table ate vindaloo, biryani, Chicken Tika, Chickpea Masala - they were all very, very plain and very small servings. The Keema Nan and Basmati rice was the only tasty food on the table.
Seating was very cramped - people next to us were bumping into us when we were eating - we were bumping into them. Service was OK...
There are so many very good Indian Restaurants in Denver and surrounding area, I suggest you try one of those and don't waste your recession $$$'s at this place..
The food was actually really good - one of the best tasting Indian places I've been to so far in the Denver area.
My two stars are solely for the service. I'm sure there are some good waitstaff folks there, but we didn't get one of them. The guy checked on us once every 1/2 hour - if we wanted something (we were there with another family, maybe the 2 kids at the table scared him away!) we had to wave our hands violently for him to come over (we didn't have enough silverware for the first half of our meal). There was another gentleman working there, we think he was the manager based on his dress, who SAW us struggling to get service, and he ignored us.
The most uncomfortable part of the evening was the end, when the inept waiter had my credit card for almost 20 minutes before coming back with my paid bill. Any decent waiter would go as fast as possible to process the card and get it back to the cardholder.
We may go back at a later date and try again (because the food honestly was very good) in hopes of getting a better waiter. If my experience improves, I'll edit this review.
This place was the bomb. I drove out from Boulder where Indian food sucks. My friends and I ordered Channa Chat for the appetizer. It's chick peas with potatoes in this minty spicy sauce. It was good but now I wish we had ordered the combination platter. We ordered their mango lassi for drinks and they were really tangy and good. The best lassi I had since I moved to Colorado. For our main course, we ordered lamb korma, chicken/shrimp curry and Bhindi Masala which was okra cooked with onions, tomatoes and spices. Everything was really good. Their meat wasn't over cooked and dry (like in Boulder), the sauces were nice and strong; very tasty. And their garlic naan was perfectly puffy and light (not doughy and dense). I'm definitely coming back. The drive from Boulder is definitely worth it.
I still give Little india 4 stars, but only when you order directly from the menu. For the buffett, I give them 2 stars.
There are a few reasons.
1. I don't think I am a big fan of buffetts in general. The food gets cold, you cannot control the options and it's sort of unsanitary.
2. They always run out of naan. I love the naan. I need the naan.
3. It's almost always chicken. Where are my other proteins?
While I am definitely not an Indian food professional, I think the food is delicious when I can choose it and it's served hot.
I'll stay away from the buffett, though. I just like it hot.

I will admit that this was my first Indian food dining experience, and perhaps my expectations of the food in general were too high. I went to Little India with a group of 8 so we ordered a bunch of plates to share.
We started off with the sampler appetizers and I did not like that everything was fried. I had no clue what anything was (fish? lamb? cauliflower?) because it all had batter on it. Except for the chicken which was the dryest chicken I've ever had.
The main entrees were pretty good but had such distinct tastes that I'm glad we were sharing and I didn't have to eat only one dish.
The restaurant wasn't that packed and our server was the slowest human on earth. We were constantly out of water, took forever for her to get our drinks, took forever for our appetizers. Not exactly sure what was going on since it seemed we were her only table.
So I'll try another Indian restaurant before I decide whether or not I like the cuisine, but will definately not go back to this one.
This is a great lunch buffet! I always get it to go, they will give youa huge container and a container for rice. You can fit enough for two in those things! The food is always consistant, I have had lunch there over 7 times in the past 6 months. Plus everyone is super nice!
So a friend and I visited Denver last weekend. She was in the mood for CTM (Chicken Tikka Masala) and I would say that she is quite the CTM connoisseur. So we decided to try Little India based on its review. Okay, first off, I am Indian so I will try not to be too critical.......well, maybe.
The papadam that we received as we first sat down, was stale and tasted horrible. The pakoras and samosas were decent, but the chutneys were not. The tamarind chutney was very watered down. Service was horrible by the way.
For the main dish, my friend got CTM and I got butter chicken with garlic naan and rice. CTM tasted like spaggetti-o's (as my friend put it) and my butter chicken tasted too creamy with no flavor. The garlic naan was bland. How can you mess up garlic naan? Well.......Little India can and they surely did.
I was amazed at how bad the food was and service and yet people of Denver seem to enjoy this place. Okay.....people of Denver and surrounding cities in Colorado.......come to Georgia. We have real Indian food here that tastes amazing.......please check out my review on Cafe Bombay, Mirch Masala (coming soon) and others. You will not be disappointed.
For some reason, India food gives me diarrhea (complete T.M.I. for you, I'm sure). However, this restaurant does not give me the runs. I liked the chicken chat, chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, and garlic naan...so basically almost everything I tried. I'm not a fan of the appetizer crackers they serve though, it's a little spicy, but in kind of a weird way.
I'm looking forward to trying their lunch buffet at the risk of more runs...oh wait, no more runs! Score!!!
1 star off: that weird appetizer cracker thing
Continually recognized as one of the best Indian Restaurant in Denver, Little India has two locations to choose from with distinctly different atmospheres but consistently delicious food. A creamy vindaloo with perfectly cooked chicken or a delightful Samosa crunchy and spicy will be sure to delight your taste buds. Check out the downtown location for a modern ambience and suave cocktails over a dinner date or visit the 6th Ave location for a local neighborhood experience. Little India also offers delivery service.
super delicious indian food.
i like it even more because my wife likes it so much.. i am a garbage disposal and will eat and try anything...but she hates things that are too spicy and little india has a nice blend of mild to spicy curries. They also have a variety of delicious naans (garlic, cheese, potato)...
down by the 16th street mall, the location is a bit shady... and we have never had a problem getting a table, but it seems to have a steady flow of traffic and we have never had a bad experience.
i always get so freakin full when i eat here and then we end up bringing some of it home for the next day... it seriously feels like a weekend commitment. If you dont want that to happen watch out for the bottomless bowls of rice... they are dangerous.
i think i have figured out how the menu is structured... on the middle page they list a bunch of dishes, where you can choose your meat to accompany... it starts out with curries, masalas, paneers and then onto vindaloo (sp?). i may not be 100% correct there, but as you work your way down, the dishes get hotter... all are delicious and if you havent had indian, give it a whirl... it is really fun to try something new and this place makes it easy and delicious!
I used to eat dinner at Little India's downtown location almost every week. The staff knew us by name and brought me chai without having to ask. The food is overall great and typically spicier and hotter than their other 2 locations when you request it. I love the Korma and the Tikka Masala!!
But then they started getting more convention center customers and they remodeled. The new staff is not so experienced or attentive. Not rude, just incompetent. The new seating is too close together, and in the winter, with people's coats hanging off their chairs, you can't even get through the dining room.
But I still give it 3 stars because the dishes they do well are super-dooper! Maybe those new waiters will figure out what an Iced Chai is, and it won't be so disappointing compared to the old days.... I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Beware! Check your bill before you hand over the money. This was our first time there and it will be a while before we're back. Our Initial bill was $90ish where it should of been $60ish. Big difference. I had to go back to the owner several times to correct the pricing.. first it was for the entrees and then to correct the tax calculated. I went up there from colorado springs based on other reviews on yelp. I'm going to keep on searching for that perfect indian restaurant in colorado. I better just stick to my own indian cooking (i'm pakistani). The food was decent... I was just surprised with the cost and the sneakiness of it with the waiter and the bill.
Food wasnt bad - and actually pretty close to authentic Indian food.
My problem was with the service. The waiters were nice people - but sort of in your face all the time - very unprofessional. Beer was brought late - even though they didnt have a huge crowd.
Tables were small too.
They serve Kingfisher beer big ** for that!
Food was pretty good - liked their saag chicken and chicken vindaloo.
Nice staff - just wish they were a little more professional.
I'll admit to being a little biased when it comes to LI. I've been a fan for over 10 years now. I've been to others in and around Denver and LI is the best. The great food and great atmosphere keep us going back.
I've never eaten Indian cuisine before but after trying it at this establishment, I can certainly say that I will be eating more of it in the future. Little India's from the outside blends in well with the rest of the other establishments on the block so you may not notice it when you drive by it at first. It is on the right side of the street as you cross over 16th St. Just look for large dark windows and you've found it. Parking is at a premium so to speak. There are meters on both sides of the street ($2 in quarters will get you 2 hours) and there is also a small lot on the right of the same block ($6 after 6pm). Inside you'll find LI to be a cozy place, both in size and decor. Dark in color inside, almost too dark but each table had a candle and there is plenty of light insde as well as light from the large windows facing the street.
Service was good. The waiter was very attentive. He went as far as to explain what the differences were between Tandoori dishes and Masalas, etc and even offered suggestions when I asked and explained that each dish can be prepared in a mild, medium or hot spice levels. I enjoyed the Garlic Naan and the Chicken Tikka Masala. The only thing that sort of bothered me was the waitperson who came by to refill drinks and take things from the table which seemed to be every 10 mins, hovering over me like a buzzard or something. I like to eat in peace and enjoy my meal without having to stop so someone can fill my glass. All and all it's a defnite good place to enjoy Indian food! I hear the buffets are excellent! Maybe I'll go this weekend?!
Oh how I love Little India. Ever since graduating from Purdue and leaving the fantastic Indian place there, I have been searching for a replacement. Well, I found it at Little India. I had the lamb korma both times I've been and I've been in heaven each time eating it. This is the way Indian food should taste. I'm salivating just writing this. There is a lunch buffet that was pretty good too. The naans were good and rice ever so fluffy and tasty. I would eat here ever day if I could. I like that it's close to downtown too.
One of the best Indian places we've been to in the Boulder/Denver area. We tried the Paneer Masala which was scrumptious. Even though we arrived just before closing we were still given good service. A must visit for anyone who likes Indian food.
Average food, the tables are way too close together.
Excellent Indian buffet food. Great lunch spot. Good service, great price. Only disappointed is that they don't have Gulab Jamun for dessert, at least never when I've eaten there.
If I was religious I would say, "Amen!" Best Indian Lunch Buffet Ever! Not a bad selection but what they have is mouth-watering, fresh and all for $7.95. You can even get it to go! The Chicken Tikka Masala is My Favorite ! This is a must try.
Love this place. will travel from littleton just for a taste of it!! Yum!
