For some reason I like this place.
Stellar food? Hmm not exactly, though they do have decent fare. We tend to stick with the wide selection of appetizers and mix. match and share every time we go.
Excellent drinks? They are good, but there are places that are better. Generally go for the mojitos - so refreshing on a hot summer day on the patio.
Fantastic service? They're OK, but there are times when you have to flag your server down, although they are friendly even then.
So what is it? Not sure, but something keeps drawing us back. It is just such a relaxing, fun place to hang.
This bar reminded me of a college frat party - lots of meat heads (like Christie S says) and other people looking for some mixture of fun and trouble. Drink prices were pretty low but I am from an area where you can't smoke indoors -- I had a hard time adjusting to the cloud of cigarette smoke.

The main draw of Little Havana for me is the unique atmosphere. It's no Ruby Tuesday, that's for sure. I usually go with a few friends for dinner. The food is pretty good and service is friendly, if not always efficient.
The shuffleboard and revolutionaries-themed restrooms always cheer me up.
This place is one of my favorites to hang out. It's an outdoor scene so its best in the summer. It has a back patio w/ tables and chairs coupled with umbrellas. It has an amazing view of the Inner harbour, and there is a big old boat parked right there. They allow dogs, and even give them dog bowls w/ water. Decent selection of beer, Awesome Margaritas, and pretty cheap food. It's a great place to hang out on any night.

This place has a typical federal hill crowd, but don't judge the place purely on the meat heads and yuppies that flock to the place. They have decent food, and on Mondays when they serve up sandwiches for half price and beer for $2 you can't beat it. The crowd is annoying but if you get a booth you are more than insulated against them. High ceilings and industrial design make the place loud and drafty even when it's not crowded so it is best to stick to the weeknights when it's least crowded. Also they make a mean Moijito and the deck when it's warm outside is a really nice spot.

This is a very average place. The food has never disappointed me, but it isn't anything special either. It's a nice spot to eat dinner if their terrace is open, since they're on the water. They have a special for very cheap margarita pitchers on Thursday evenings, but their margaritas have never impressed me. I think a margarita should have nothing but lime, tequila and triple sec, wheras the owners of Havana's seem to think that sugar is an important ingredient.
Rowdy brunch crowd. Drafty dining room in winter. Good service. Decent, but not outstanding, food. They do, however, have shuffleboard, which I find I like quite a lot.

This place has an amazing mojito, which makes it an A+ in my book. I like to go here after work, meet some friends, and enjoy drinking and playing shuffleboard (What can I say, I'm a dork) for the evening. The food is only so-so, but other people say it's good. I'm just too picky to enjoy many things on the menu, and generally stick with a burger or something. It can get a bit chilly during the winter due to the drafts, but during the summer, the outdoor seating makes it a splendid affair. I've never been here when it's been really crowded, but have never been offended by the clientele the way other people claim to have been.
Did I mention the amazing mojitos?
My girlfriend always drags me out here. Not because of the slow service, but because of the crab dip. She claims it's the best in the city. I don't really know, when there I'm usually overwhelmed by the early thirties yuppy crowd and frat parties that fill the place.
The specials are awesome- like half price crab (everything crab) and half price sandwich days. And then there's the black out brunch. A meal, and all you can drink for something like $15 after tax. It's worth it.

I must say this place has helped me get through my first year of teaching. The atmosphere is great [better in the warmer months than the colder ones], the food is good and cheap [try the pork bites, pulled pork nachos, black bean burger, or garlic mashed potatoes to list a few], the workers are friendly, and the prices at happy hour are fabulous. Monday nights you can have a sandwich, 3 drinks, + the tip for around $10, can't top that. Tuesday nights are a $1/ounce prime rib. Give it a try just not on a Friday or Saturday [that is when scary people come out to play] or when it first starts getting warm out [yeah their outside seating is that good, people come from all over and the place floods], so unless you like having people stand on your toes and spill drinks all over you, don't go on the weekends. Oh yeah, people talk about their margaritas and mojitos here too, but I though that they were just decent, I could probably make a better one.

Fun weekend brunch includes bottomless bloody marys and mimosas, although they often taste a bit watered down. Food is OK, but doesn't quite live up to expectations.
Lots of outside seating available for the few nice months of the year...
this place is really popular with some people i know- but personally, i was not impressed. i've only been once (so maybe i'm not entitled to make judgment), but it was too yuppie- definitely not my scene. but if you are looking for an older person's power plant live- then maybe you'll like it.
