I stopped in about a week ago and they are CLOSING as of mid-JULY..
No worries, they're slated to reopen in the Inner Sunset in September of 2009, I was reassured!!! -

I found this gem walking the streets of West Portal and am in love! This is the cutest store ever. And for this native San Franciscan I was thrilled when I found that Tori sells San Francisco native T-shirts. I've been looking for this simple black T that means so much to a native.
Tori, the owner, is so helpful and sweet you will want to come in just to say hi. She has an array of products for the male, female, and kids. I love her clothing, sunglasses and so much more. Little Fish Sells clothing for Big Fishes too! The Hands-On Owner is very nice and has great taste in clothes. I am amazed at the funky dresses and tops she has for Mommies and Aunties. I am digging a pair of ruffled leggings on display in the window right now.
Must Have?? The "Old School San Francisco Native" Tee-Shirt T-Shirt it is only in black with white writing. Sizes 0-6 months to Extra-Large. Good Sturdy American cotton.
The prices are excellent also. I just wish I had a younger niece I could buy for.Listed in: West Portal for the Tony

So I am a little biased because I know the owner, and did the mural in the shop, but this is the first place that comes to mind when I need a baby gift. Yes somethings are a little expensive, but if you take your time, and aren't too proud to state your price range, then you'll find something kick-ass, and who doesn't want to be the one to give the kick-ass present?
And yes, it is near impossible to not buy myself something when I'm in there! -

Cute and clean little shop. The girl that was working was nice and it seems to be one of those "lifestyle" boutiques where you can kinda go in and get everything: clothes for men and women, accessories, baby stuff, gifts or whatever floats your fancy. I felt like there was a little of everything but nothing that I wanted. I wish I could give it more stars, but I can't because for the first time in a long time, in such a cute store, I walked out empty handed. And I really tried, I went in on 4 different occasions...... :(
Maybe next time I'll find something and will be able to up my star rating for the place. -

Great family boutique with cute clothes for children and adults. I don't have children, but still love shopping here.
Cute dresses and coats. Smaller jean sizes are difficult to come by.

i love little fish because it combines great designs with a friendly atmosphere. Tori is very accomodating and makes shopping and gift-buying a relaxing experience.
The selection is broad and well organized. The store is larger and more comfortable to shop in than the boutiques in hayes valley that carry some similar items. Got a stroller - no problem shoping here with it. Some baby boutiques feel like design museums in a not-kid-friendly kind of way but Little Fish is more down to earth.
How can a fish be "down to earth"? -

Cute is the word. Darling array of family fun wear...
Make your man handsome, spruce up your girl pizazz or dress the cutest baby on the block all in one stop. Organic baby wear, hip accessories and local designers....I was super impressed. Definitely on my list for gift giving too! -

The store definitely has some cute stuff but I can't give it a high rating because a) as some other yelpers have mentioned, I think a lot of the merchandise is overpriced, and b) i didn't find the owner particularly helpful and worse, when i let her know that an item i had purchased there had fallen apart after one washing she simply said, "hmm." I wasn't looking for my money back, but a simple, "I'm sorry that happened" would've been nice.
UPDATE: The owner emailed me after reading this, apologized and offered me a refund on the item so I'm changing my rating. Everyone deserves a second chance... - -

I love this store and I am so happy that it is in my neighborhood. I first found this store when a friend of mine bought my infant son a great shirt. The one thing I do know is that it is hard to find really cute clothes for boys and this store is great. It has a little of everything for the target audience - mommies with young children!
The store not only has great things for babies and kids, but it has really great pieces for women. I have found some really great tops, dresses and jackets. All original pieces, which is why I hesitated writing this review for fear that more women would know my fashion secret. Every top and I mean every top that I have purchased from this store I get compliments from women.
The owner is great and very friendly without being pushy. It is also great to shop here because she has a tiny play area on the floor that my son can play with the toys, while I look around. The added benefit is that most of the items in the store are from local designers.
I love going there periodically to discover the new things that she gets. I -

Finally, something hip and accessible in West Portal... Tori picks some of the cutest clothes for babies and adults, that are super cute, trendy and reasonably priced... the place has a down to earth vibe and atmosphere. Must go if you are in the neighborhood or need to buy something cute for a little one!

This shop is a nice little addition to West Portal, which really needed a kids clothing store. And when looking for the same items at other shops, like citi kids or some sacramento street shop you are not going to pay more here. I do find that the kids clothes are much better quality than the adult clothes. She has great cheap sunglasses. It is really nice to have something like this on this side of town so we can actually shop local.

Totally adorable and surprisingly affordable!!! Dropped in one day on a whim and came out with a ton of funky, fun Christmas gifts. I couldn't believe that I was getting such great deals. I really had to stop myself from buying stuff for myself, because the clothes and accessories are totally adorable. Great place for kid & baby clothes, too. Truly an asset for West Portal!

I love this new store in West Portal! The owner has a great selection of quality baby items(blankets, clothes, diaper bags, mobiles) and a small but nice selection of women and men's clothing & jewelry. I bought a beautiful and whimsical rattle imported from France and plan on buying more items once my little rascal arrives. The lay out of the store is well thought out with clean and modern lines. And another very cool thing is that there are prenatal, mommy and baby and children's yoga classes on-site with Madhuri Flynn.

this place has a great concept, but i was not impressed upon talking in. there was stuff strewn across the floor and everything was seemingly disorganized. i know that they just opened up, but they could at least try and clean up a little bit for their customers.
i like the idea that there is clothing for the whole family, but none of the pieces that they had for adults were really all that exciting.
i might come back here again when they get their feet off the ground. -

Stumbled upon this store randomly today with my roommate. Tori is awesome. Everything about this store is awesome. Cute clothes for her, him, and baby. Even cuter accessories. If I had kids I would 100% shop here for them...you have to check it out for yourself!!!! There was a shirt that I loved but not in a color that I wanted, so Tori is ordering the shirt for me. Great customer service!

This is truly a family boutique! I was able to buy my 5 year nephew some organic cotton clothes and his "granola" mother some wool socks. My "hipster" friends who are about to have a baby... a punk rock looking onesy and one of a kind looking earings for my secret santa a work! I also pick up a silk top for all my upcoming x-mas parties.:) Thank you little fish for making x-mas shopping a breeze!

i LOVE this cute, west portal boutique! My family and I come here often because my daughter's godfather lives on this street. He got her her christmas present from this quaint, little shop and I vowed to come back! Finally, it happened to be warm one weekend and my husband, daughter, her godfather and i went for a little neighborhood stroll. I got my chance to check out the store first hand and had a TERRIFIC experience. This store has apparel and accessories for mom, dad and baby, which is a definite plus. I left, after buying my daughter a pair of argyle socks and a new baby bag, with an unsatisfied feeling: I wanted to buy up the whole store!! I took my time without the fear of being rushed or gawked at (which is certainly the case at most little stores and boutiques). the lady that worked there was very knowledgeable and friendly. I can't wait to go back!

I love this place! It's such a great place to go when you're sick of the mall and want to check out cute little boutiques like this one! I find it refreshing. I found the dress of my dreams there, a little on the pricey side but still worth it. The sales associate was so nice and helpful. I took one star off because when I asked if they have sales, she said they normally bring out a sales rack and place it in front of their store but on days when its too sunny, they won't put it out because they don't want damage the clothing. Thats understandable but for me, I love to shop the most on nice sunny days and would have most likely spent more there if the sales rack was out. Nevertheless I'll be going back for sure!

I am so glad Little Fish opened in West Portal. They have a great eye for products you just want to have. I like that the store focuses on a whole family - kids to adults. Great place to get gifts for friends and their babies.

I got invited to a baby shower the other day and thought "Great, I get to buy something at Little Fish!". Can't possibly leave there without a baby gift. Too pricey for me to buy things for my own child on a regular basis(except for the "Auntie Rocks" tee shirt she AND my sister love), but it has great choices for special treats. I haven't really looked at the other merchandise.
Also - always very friendly. I browse a lot more then I buy - but I'm always treated the same. -

this is a very sweet little shop. i got a super comfy fine gauge tee that fits exactly the way you want a tee to fit. found a fabulous, summer party dress too. loved the selection of kids clothes.

cute store but as the previous yelper said, OVERPRICED (especially their homemade "designer" baby shirts/onesies that have CLIPART graphics screenprinted on them).
