I was in scenic Point Richmond recently looking for a lunch spot and found this place. It's low key and fairly no frills inside but it has affordable and good quality Chinese food. The lunch specials are particularly good, with your entrée with soup and a small salad totaling around $7. Plus they are usually very fast - I get my entrée about 5 minutes after I order. So far I've ordered the cashew nut chicken and the Szechuan chicken and both have been tasty.

It isn't transcendent Chinese food but if you looking for a quick and satisfying place for lunch in the Point Richmond area I recommend Little China.

Straight out, we were looking for something quick and cheap. Leo B. says this place is good for lunch, so we got in here and sat right away. It's kinda like the divey dim sum places in SF, but the pluses were that the servers and cooks were chinese...in some places you never know.  We got tea and then everyone ordered their own lunch plate. It was cheap too. I got the honey walnut prawns. After my last fiasco with Panda Express walnut prawns, I was pretty scared what I would be served. We got complimentary miso dressed slaw salads, an egg roll with sweet and sour sauce and hot and sour soup. Oo..that soup was tasty and not a lot of MSG too.

I finally realized why the lunches are kinda cheap...my order came with just 6 prawns & walnuts, and a few chunks of broccoli and a bowl size shape of white rice.  How come everyone else's dish had more food? Eh, the good thing was, the food was really good...I hate prawns drenched in mayo sauce and then greasy to boot. But these weren't. I wish there were more pieces for me to mix in with the rice, since there was so much of it.

Service was brisk and if that darn itty-bitty fly that kept dive bombing in my face and hovering around my food wasn't around, I'd give the place a half more stars. Parking is 2 hours free around the area.

Just ordered some takeout there....it was TERRIBLE...I mean really really terrible.  Worst Chinese food Ive had in awhile.  My first clue should have been that the entire restaurant was empty.

It doesnt happen often but Yelp, you have totally failed me :(

I ordered string beans, sesame chicken, salt/pepper fish, and chow fun.  How can you mess up string beans????  They were completely overcooked and almost seemed like they came from a can and then disguised with sauce...they were gross.  The sesame chicken...geez...even the Panda Express orange chicken was better then this one.  The salt/pepper fish was breaded, not battered....it looked and tasted just like the frozen fish fingers I used to eat as a kid...and the chow fun was just bland.

The worst part is, they stuffed everything into those crappy chinese takeout boxes...hello?  most places use the larger ones now.  These boxes were like 3 X 3 inches in height and depth...very lame.

The person who took our order was very nice but I will never order food from here again.

Basically your typical "dive Chinese restaurant."  The front door is kinda broken, the plants are half-dead, and the tables are a little wobbly.  And overall, the decor is really plain.  But that's what makes it fun, haha.

However, the food is actually pretty good and very cheap.  You can even get a soda for $1, or a beer (Sapporo) for only $2.  Service is pretty quick.  Go for the food, not the ambiance.

Convenient, cheap, yummy, Chinese take-out in Point Richmond!

Not grocery shopping for a while meant not having any food in the house. Facing the desperation of home famine after work on a Monday evening, I called up Little China Restaurant.

I ordered Shredded Pork Mu Shu, House Chow Mein, Honey Walnut Prawns & Brown Rice. The total came out to $26 & I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I'm not sure it even took me 15 minutes to get there, but it was ready to go when I walked in.

Back at home, the girlfriend & I hungrily dove into our food. The Shredded Pork Mu Shu & Honey Walnut Prawns were delicious & the Brown Rice was good. The House Chow Mein was too much noodle for our tastes, but was OK.

Gripped by hunger in a house with no food, Little China Restaurant provided much needed relief until we could get to a grocery store. Good Chinese take-out in Point Richmond is a good thing.

hmmm... this three stars is being generous...

I was a bit excited to eat here after reading all the reviews and finding out how close they are and that they deliver to where I live. They were friendly, the service was fast, the issue with the service was that we are pescetarians (vegetarians who eat seafood). I repeated several times that we are vegetarians, but shrimp and fish were okay, then I ordered the fried wontons and had her re-affirmed that they were vegetarian. When they came, I thought, interesting flavor...I broke one open sure that I would find mushrooms or textured veggie protein, but no...it was pork. An not just pork, but pork that smelled like ass ( and I spent almost 10 years in kitchens, I know good pork)... She came and I asked her what they were made of. She replied pork. With a little frustration, I repeated for the fourth time that we were vegetarians. She then asked if I wanted to box them up. wtf??? English much?
And now for the food. We ordered honey walnut shrimp based on the yelp reviews, Salmon and white garlic sauce, and Szechuan eggplant. Aside from being served Szechuan prawns instead of eggplant, the szechuan sauce tasted like sweet and sour sauce... The honey walnut shrimp was decent, but I could only eat two before the sticky sweet savory flavor became too much. The fried rice was bland, and the Salmon was not worth eating. Of the three plates and one appetiser that we ordered, I think we ate maybe 1/2 a plate worth of food and left the rest sitting on the table when we asked for the check.

Sure enough, they charged us for the pork wontons we didn't eat... F#@k it. We paid them everything, left a decent tip, and will never go back.

Needless to say, very disappointed. For all those who call this good Chinese food because they don't use MSG (my wife swears she tasted it in the soup) and have big portions, all I have to say is that it is only slightly better than most "American Chinese" but nothing near good Chinese food. It is a little ways away, but if you want a good referencing for what good Chinese food tastes like, go to Little Shin Shin in Oakland. I have never tasted better (in the Bay Area)

So my wife and I lived in Pt Richmond for about a year.  Before we moved there, we decided to check out the 'hood to see if it was cool.  So one Saturday we went there for a walk around the little "downtown" and we were charmed -- a little park with a blues band, all the shops were open and lots of people walking around with kids and dogs. We had a great time.

    Awesome! Let's do it!

So, we quickly realized that this was some sort of special event, and that in reality everything locks up tight by 5:30 or so. DEAD.

DEAD as in Vanilla Ice's music career.

One of the very few exceptions is Little China.  The food is pretty average compared to SF, but pretty good and consistent.  The service is great -- there is one consistently-overworked woman who always has a smile on her face.  Clearly, they do a lot of pickup and delivery business. There is a flood of people dropping in to get their bag of chow.

Little China was one of our frequent stops.  Honestly, would we go there if it was not walkable and one of the few restaurants around?  Probably not, but it was pretty darn good.  And Pt Richmond beggars can't be choosers.

Ok, I'll come clean-- my immediate neighbor is one of the owners of Little China.  So, if I gave it one star, you can just imagine what might happen (we are only a fence apart you know).

Seriously, this place is great.  I love the food (lunch portions are huge and such a deal!)

They only use chicken breast in the dishes (I'm not a dark meat fan so that is worth 3 stars by itself).  I hate when I got to KFC and tell them I only want white meat-- man do I get the looks.  I'm fully prepared to pay extra for my white meat.... so why the attitude KFC?   Anyway, back to Little China, the portions are big for take out (enough for two meals) and very tasty.

If you need your Chinese fix, go there.  Quick, great prices and friendly service.

Picked up some food here on a saturday night for to-go.  The menu was listed outside on the window, and it seemed very reasonably priced. Got the beef chow fun, mapo tofu, and hot and sour soup. The Mapo tofu was the best out of all three, it was full of flavor. The hot and sour soup portion was huge, easily 6 bowls of it... I seriously think they made the soup wrong though. It was really sweet! it tasted like sweet and sour soup! I dunno if this is how it always it, but maybe they used sugar instead of salt, it was really weird. If the soup was better, I would have given it another star.

Dear Little China, when Suzhou closed and turned into that scary vegan restaurant, I thought I'd never eat Chinese in Pt. Richmond again - whose hot and sour soup could rival the magic of Suzhou?  Whose chicken and green bean lunch special would ever be as tasty?  I was doomed to eat Little Louies.  And then, someone said, "You ever try Little China?"  GAME CHANGER.  Fast and friendly service.  Tasty food.  Great price.

Cheap & fast Chinese food!  The menu is large, like most chinese restaurants.  It's a teeny tiny place that is always packed and they do a large amount of take out (which, like any other Point Richmond place I've reviewed is how I eat their food).

My co-worker has ordered the same thing here every day for almost a year (no joke). I usually rotate through their many chicken dishes. They charge a bit more to substitute brown rice, fried rice or chow mein noodles for the white rice.

They either offer free egg rolls or fried wonton chips with your order, I always get excited when I realize I've come on the egg roll day :)

The soups are very large orders, the large is double the size of the smalls and the small is plenty large enough for a lunch.

The employees are not very talkative, it could be a bit of a language barrier but I've never had a problem with my order or making changes like omitting the mushrooms.

    Yum! Good hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant.

It's standard to give everyone a bowl of spicy soup and some salad, no matter what you order. I like the soup and the salad is tasty.

The lunch specials are cheap and you can always get a table pretty quick.
The waitresses were always attentive and helpful.

I've had a few different dishes here and they were all pretty tasty.
For a good, quick, warm, satisfying lunch, come here!

Um, how does this place stay in business??

For $5.95 I not only got a hefty pile of mushroom beef alongside a generous portion of rice, but also spicy soup, hot tea, and an egg roll set atop shredded cabbage with THE BEST PEANUT SAUCE EVER.  I am so not overexaggerating.

If I didn't live two hours away, I'd come here once a week.  Support local businesses!

I go here all the time, my job even orders lunch from here. It's a great little place, they don't mind kids and the staff is really nice. The also don't use a lot of oil or MSG everything feels really light on the tongue.

    Some of my favorites are
Honey Walnut Prawns (just enough sauce and the walnuts are good too)
    Fresh Mushroom Beef
    Black Mushroom and bok choy
Sesame Chicken (lite on the batter you actually get meat and taste it)

So if you are in Point Richmond and want chinese check them out.
If you have a large group they have a bigger table in the back but other than that 4 people is max.

This place sucks! I found hair in my soup, then they tried to say it was my hair even tho I have short hair and the hair in my food was long. On top of that they don't offer delivery service from 11am-2pm they said their too busy its "rush hour" poor management if you ask me hire some more people if your soo busy don't jeopardize your service. I really wanted to like this place. My first order with them left me feeling disappointed. The order taker was a nice sweet Chinese lady with glasses and a braided pony tail. I ordered the Wor Won Ton soup, Beef Chow Fun and Mongolian Beef. When I saw them cooking it while I was waiting at the counter for the food I thought to myself, "boy, that smells and looks delicious!" but when I opened it up at home and got a closer look I knew it wasn't going to taste great.

The soup came in a very clear broth. It was fairly bland and it looked like they just boiled some water and let the vegi's flavor the soup. It didn't taste like a good won ton broth. Maybe it was missing the MSG? It came with 8 dumplings, which I thought was a fairly good amount and it came with bak choy, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, chicken, beef and a couple of shrimps. Luckily I had hot chili oil to kick it up a notch.

Beef Chow Fun was okay. I definitely had it better some place else. It didn't look greasy at all and it tasted like it needed more flavor. Maybe it was missing the MSG again too?

Mongolian Beef had too much onions. It was like a 80% onion to 20% beef ratio. I like onions, but it has to be cooked a certain way. I believe they used yellow onions, red onions and the white parts of green onions. When I usually order Mongolian Beef, I get yellow onions and the green parts of the green onions.

The order was ready in 10mins, so that's a plus. 1 star for that and 2 stars for the food. I will definitely give them another try. Next time I'm going to order a fried rice dish and a chicken dish and I'll update my review. I really would like to find a good Chinese restaurant that is tasty and fits my budget and I was hoping this was it.

Good Chinese food with cheap lunch special prices.  However, the actual dish portions are small for these specials and you'll get more rice than anything else.  You would be better off buying the entree at regular price and ordering a side of whole brown rice if you're really hungry. I like that they don't use MSG and the dishes are not greasy.

I've been going to this Pt. Richmond restaurant since 2006 because it's a couple of blocks from where I work.  They consistently deliver very good food.  I usually order the sauteed vegetables dish and ask them to add chicken to it.  It's really great that they use all white chicken meat on all their dishes, not like some of the cheap restaurants in San Francisco who charge you extra for white meat.  The vegetables are a good variety as well for this dish--bok choy, carrots, broccoli, snap peas--and stir fried at a minimum so the vegetables are still crispy when the dish is delivered. Perfect sauteed vegetables in my book!

Very unfortunately, I've had a few experiences where one of the waitresses would get my order wrong somehow--I always ask for the white garlic sauce and I would have to return the chicken vegetables dish in a brown sauce which is far too salty for my palate.  Also, I wish they would just add chicken vegetables to their regular menu so I wouldn't have to order special each time.

Overall, this is a great little restaurant!  Be specific when you want white sauce.  Try out their spring rolls--they're fabulous and are served hot and crispy, not burnt!  They also serve oolong team and a small cabbage appetizer with a fried wonton and sweet and sour soup if you dine in.  I don't recommend the walnut shrimp dish--it's not as tasty as I've had in other Chinese restaurants and the sauce is dark--most walnut shrimp dishes have a clear sauce.

I also like that their service is consistently good unless you come at the noon hour...and even then it's still really good, prompt service.  You don't have to wait too long to get your main dish.  And they will come back and ask you if everything is okay.  Very friendly wait staff...good, solid restaurant with good food.

Two caveats--do not come at the noon hour or you'll be waiting awhile and be clear that you want the white garlic sauce--in fact, repeat yourself several times; sometimes they'll miss and you'll get the saltier brown sauce.  Little China is a popular lunch destination in Pt. Richmond--and recommended for their consistently good, non-greasy non-msg food and good service!  Reasonably price, too!

Is this the best Chinese food in the SF Bay Area? No, but some of the dishes are fantastic and they are pretty consistent.  They are a solid bet for Americanized Chinese food.  I strongly recommend the Little China Prawns and the Salt and Pepper Fish.  The Orange Chicken is also good.

Free delivery is a huge benefit.  They are a fall back for us when we don't want to cook.  I always over order and then have the left overs for lunch the next day.

The people who run this little gem probably think I'm either:
    a) a gluttonous pig
    b) a pregnant lady with an insatiable craving for Chinese food
    c) an obsessive-compulsive who can't break out of her daily routine or her family might explode (and she has to count to four before washing her hands every time)
    d) all of the above
And yet, they still serve me with timeliness and good cheer. And why would they? Because I have been known to eat here at least twice a day on a number of occasions - lunch and dinner, and I would eat breakfast here too if they made it.
    Things I love:
Soft tofu with mixed vegetables in white garlic sauce
Orange chicken (good quality chicken, fried to a golden brown and sauteed with dried orange peel)
Won ton soup - I can't even explain the deliciousness of it - so fresh tasting
Ma Po tofu - I have dreams about this silky, comforting tofu and pork dish
So much other deliciousness, I can't even say. There is something truly perfect about the quality of their food. Fresh, flavorful, ungreasy. the prices are right and they have great lunch specials as well.
The funniest part about it is, I don't even really like Chinese food that much. The saddest part is, now that I will no longer be working in Point Richmond, I can't eat here every single day. But you can bet I'll be making a special trip on the weekends.

This place will not win any awards, but its very decent chinese food, and an incredible value at lunch time. All three of us were satisfied with our lunch. Your basic special includes hot and sour soup, a meager chinese salad with a fried wonton, plus entree plate with rice for 5.25. Add noodles or fried rice for 50 cents extra. As others have notes, its nothing fancy, but clean enough and the people are pleasant. I would normally give this place 3.5 stars, but rounded up for great value and proximity to my new home.

Little China is my old stand-by when I'm too tired to cook.  Reliable, decent and fairly priced.  Not the greatest selection of veggie entrees, so I end up ordering some seafood.  I'm partial to the Sczechwan prawns, or the honey walnut prawns.  Paired with some brown rice and hot and sour soup, you've got yourself a nice little meal.  If I didn't live in the Point, I don't think I would travel to eat at Little China, but I'm happy to only have to travel 5 minutes to get some good grub.

soup and salad and a fried won ton to start you off.
then the meal will come in a few minutes after.

as for pricing its isn't bad at all. I came out full for 7 bucks.
the only thing i was upset about was that they are a bit cheap on the shrimp.

I agree that the food is good and the price is fair. The place has zero atmosphere and is very narrow. It's not China town so I guess they don't need to impress anyone. Parking is rough at lunch, being near Chevron but okay for dinner. They do have takeout parking.

Great local Chinese.  They do the standard fare well and have some nice specials as well.  We ate there once but usually get take out or delivery.  They are always very friendly.
(It can get a bit hectic there so be sure to check your delivery items.  They forgot the rice once but they went back and got it for us.)

They now deliver to Marina Bay as well as Point Richmond

I was here on Thursday. GREAT little hole in the wall chinese food place. This was only my second time eating from here and It was great. We got LOTS of food! Let me tell you, the crab puffs are to die for! They are this great little mix of slightly sweet and crunchy. The Hunan chicken and General's chicken is good too Esp. With brown rice. This place is great if you want good quality chinese food and are willing to pay a little more.

Little place with GREAT food at a great price. Free soup and egg roll appetizer right when you walk in. They are fast and the food is always fresh. I especially like the roasted duck for $5.25 that is always on the daily special board. You must spend $10 when paying by credit so be sure to have cash if your by yourself because nothing on the menu is going to put you there even if you get a drink.

this is my favourite chinese food place...
the little china is shabby and dirty. you wouldn't want to bring your date here.
but it's a comfort place. you come in, and instantly feel peace in your heart. the stack of yesterday's paper in the corner next to the cashier's counter, the heavy plastic shreaded curtain to the restroom right next to the kitchen, the waiter - tidy and a funny nerdy looking nice young woman in glasses - they all get you ready for the good good food.

i don't really know what good chinese food is. i've come from an asian country that used to be a part of the former soviet union but our food has nothing to do with diversity and flavor of chinese cuisine.

    ok, back to little china...
the food is greasy, i admit that. but it tastes really good. it has a balance - it does not get greasy to the point when you start thinking about those ugly figures that you make yourself aware of every morning in your bathroom.
my favourites are crab puffs, mango chicken and almost all vegetable dishes. my husband likes the walnut prawns.

As I live in Pt. Richmond, Little China is my go to place for takeout when I know my fridge is bare or I don't feel like scraping a meal together. Their soups are pretty good, a small is about 1qt container and a large are 2 of them, so you might as well go for a large and save one for later. They are usually pretty fast and when I call ahead, it's almost always waiting for me by the time I get there. Dishes do not taste too greasy or salty. As I don't normally have a meal there, I don't know about the portion size when you eat in, but I've noticed recently that the boxes for takeout are now smaller. I would much rather they raise the price than decrease the size but as far as their food is concerned, it's still tasty at a decent price.

The service is very quick and friendly.  The prices are very reasonable.  I get take out all the time, and have never had a bad meal.  I recommend the honey walnut prawns, eggplant with garlic sauce (I have them add chicken), house fried rice.  My daughter loves the chow mein, but I think it is a touch greasy.  The lunch specials are inexpensive, and include soup, cabbage salad, egg roll, and rice.  The veggies are fresh and cooked correctly.  This is the best Chinese food in Pt. Richmond.
