Fall special drinks = heaven! Get em while they're hot! Had a rum and cider and an espresso martini, both of which were delicious. At the behest of our rather fetching waiter, I tried a milk stout (can't remember the name) which was equally delightful. A very impressive beer list and a plethora of yummy cocktails to choose from.
We also ordered a fry platter to share which comes with two dipping sauces. No complaints; good for soaking up one too many.
As a sidenote, be careful parking anywhere in Little Five Points; my car got booted because I didn't notice the unassuming parking ticket thing tucked in the corner of the lot down by Elmyr. Oopsies! -

The food was average.
The service was terrible.
I'm not sure how they stay in business with team members who are sarcastic asses to their customers. Lame. -

If you're looking for a good burger this is the place to go.
The burgers are amazing! I always get it with smoked gouda cheese, avocado, mushrooms, and bacon.
For whatever reason this combination of ingredients creates the best burger I've ever had.
They also have different specials going on each day of the week, and it's fun to see what's new. -

Pretty good food, pretty good service and a very interesting corner. I like this place. I'll try the west side location next.

This is a great place to go if you just want decent food that isn't exclusively bar food. The only problem I've run into is that the service can be lacking. I find this to be the case at a lot of places where the staff think they're too hip for general consumption. However, corner tavern hasn't usually had that problem until recently.
Get the fries with thai chili sauce and curry ketchup, sooo tasty! -

Bartenders are very nice. The atmosphere is good; karokee night is fun. All in all, good place to chill, but for the love of cheese, don't get anything middle shelf. I got charged $11 for a Manhattan. SERIOUSLY? It's Little 5 Points, not Buckhead.

Don't you just love good finds? Walking the streets of Little Five Points in search of something hearty and delicious I stumbled into Little 5 Corner Tavern. It was a Wednesday night and I'm so glad it was. Adult Trivia was the game for the night! I knew that fun must have been calling me.
One of the special's on the menu for the night was Grilled Talapia over rice or grits, and green beans. Definitely a meal up my ally. Not the grits necessarily but everything else. We walked in and didn't have to wait for a waitress to seat us. We chose a table close to the open "garage door". Yes, it's designed just like a garage door but doesn't give you the effect as if you were in a garage. The night was beautiful, not too hot with just the right amount of breeze blowing.
The waitress was pleasant. She recommended I give the grits a try. Now, I must confess: I've never had grits in a dinner meal and I can count the # of times I've ever even eaten grits on one hand in my lifetime. She was encouraging, helpful, and assuring that I would enjoy them thoroughly with my meal. So I agreed, cheerfully. My meal was AMAZING!!! I ate until my heart was content and enjoyed the grits with my FISH! Freakin' unbelievable to be quite frank and not expensive at all.
Adult Trivia was fun!! I love to see people enjoying their freedom to experience things that are "normally" hush, hush. We are all (or at least should be) adults and enjoying the pleasures of life fully expressed is true freedom. We laughed and got most of the answers correct :-) I'm looking forward to doing it again on a Wednesday night.
And, if you've been following my reviews you should know by now that I will mention my experience in the little girls room. I think it's a plus for us women to know.
My experience here was definitely easy on the eyes with all the beautiful Goddesses staring back at me as I twinkled, twinkled, little star. The pictures hanging on the wall were all of beautiful women, past and present. It was very different in style and decor. A nice addition.
If you want to light one up, feel free, you can smoke in here as well. If you're not a smoker you may want to sit by the open door. The whole time we were there we were not bothered by the smoke at all. Enjoy! -

Came in for drinks after dinner, and they had a great 9 bucks special! For a pint of Guinness and a shot of Jameson, you get to keep the Guinness Glass! Woot woot! My Boyfriend loves Guinness, so of course in the course of 2 hours, he downed 2 of the combos, and we made home happily with 2 Guinness glasses ( which did I mention is the BF's favorite beer and the name of our dog??).
I had the house Sangria special which was 3.00, and very tasty filled with yummy summer fruits. Also had their Cucumer Mint Gin muddled drink, which I didn't really care for, it just tasted funny to me, cucumber in a drink? Blah.. but for those who like it, I can see it as a refreshing summer drink.
The place is airy, ample seating, and conversation-friendly volume space! Makes this venue a great place is chill on a summer Friday evening after dinner!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Service: Good, but not Above average.
Food: Excellent
Price: Very reasonable
Really enjoyed the open garage door and the people watching -- almost as good as the airport...
Only complaint is with the smokers in the area with the garage door (once open, another closed).
Definitely will return. -

I have had a pretty good time each time I've been here on a Sunday for karaoke. I'm not very good at it, but with good friends, good beer selection, and good food, I'm a pretty happy camper.
What won me over was their ravioli, and I've also tried their mole' dish and I will be getting it ALL FOR MYSELF MWAHAHA next time. AND! They had my favorite beer on tap a month ago - Ommegang Adoration. Anyone who gets their hands on that stuff is my new best friend.
I have no problems with the Sunday crowd, its often small and the people are nice. I think the atmosphere they've cultivated works for me. And the waitstaff on Sundays has been nothing but friendly. Kudos! -

I was very pleased to discover this establishment. It's a bar. No, it's a pub. No, wait! A tavern! But the food is a notch above typical bar/pub offerings.
I had the Fried Artichoke Hearts: Artichoke hearts marinated, beer-battered, fried, and served with Ranch dressing. They were warm, crispy, and tasty. A step above anything like chips & dip. And there was enough to feed four folks with this appetizer.
I followed that with a grilled-chicken sandwich. The bun-bottom got a little soggy, but they cooked the chicken just right. In fact, the soggy bun was probably my own fault. I imagine putting both grilled mushrooms and sliced avocado on a sandwich does makes things a little interesting. But it was good. It hit the spot.
Our server was quick and made good suggestions. She took very good care of us. The beer list also seemed to be well thought-out. It wasn't a cumbersome list, but there were plenty of interesting things to choose from. Not to mention a full bar...
Next time I'll try the specials. -

They deserve an upgrade. The boy had a Groupon so we went for dinner last night. It was slow, which was a nice change. Our server was sweet & not too hovering. She kept my diet Cokes coming without me having to ask, which I appreciated.
We got the fry platter appetizer, I got the grilled veggie sandwich with a side of mushrooms, and he got the tuna burger with green beans. The fries were better than I remembered and I was definitely a fan of the horseradish mayo. I could eat that stuff on a brick. My sandwich was also satisfactory. It's a little less good than Twain's version, but I was still pleased. The boy scarfed down his tuna burger in record time, so I'm going to say he enjoyed it. The price was reasonable for the amount of food and I like that they have healthier options. It's nice to be able to go out to dinner and incorporate vegetables in the meal without feeling like you're missing out.
He's got one more Groupon, so we'll definitely be back.Listed in: Thanks, But No Thanks

I used to frequent this place when I was in walking distance until people started getting mugged all over the place...
I'd recommend brunch on the weekends - when it's nice outside, they have the garage doors open and you get a little view of all the suburbanite "tourists" walking by to gawk at the "freaks" in L5P.
The food has always been solid by bar standards, and they've recently beefed up their beer list to be quite impressive to the demanding patron. I've also never had a problem with the service. The only drawback I ever ran into was on a Saturday night when they had a DJ start up around 10ish. I had to grab a video of the 2 people in the whole place making fools of themselves on the "dance floor." Seriously, guys, your bar is no place for a DJ. You should nix it. Immediately. -

A solid tavern, located in the heart of little 5 points. Good beer selection, price is okay, service is okay... I like sitting near the window so that I can people watch out on the intersection.
Good location and spot to cap off or start the night. -

I like how everyone that's written reviews on this place has basically used it as an opportunity to diss how trendy L5P is these days.
The servers can be kinda douchey, but I'd expect that from people that wear trucker hats. The servers do however keep the beer flowing. The food is pretty decent, the beer selection is good too, and the servers are usually able to make good recommendations if you quiz them.
The only drawback is the seating arrangements, if you want to sit in the area with the garage door then you can't hear the music very well.
Also, the toilets are filthy, cramped, and disgusting. I suppose you'd expect that but I don't really like the feeling that I'm about to get E.Coli poisoning after using the bathroom. I've done my business in far nastier bathrooms though. I mean, how clean does a toilet need to be if you're just gonna piss in it anyways?
I do enjoy the high backed booths they have. It gives a very cozy intimate feel to the dining/drinking experience. Plus unlike many other booths at bars, they're pretty comfortable.
This is definitely one of the places in L5P that I stop at if I'm not sure where I want to go for a beer right off the bat. -

According to the time stamp this will still count!
I hope
If not then it was a worthy try, and lame ass work killed my attempt.
But this place was interesting. Ive passed it so many times that I cant put a count on it. But I have never ever stepped foot in there. Odd I know. But Saturday was an impromptu meet of peoples in the area, and we met at Corner Tavern for a beer to get going. I was told the food wasnt the greatest considering the area, so we ventured, and then came back when we saw that great food was requiring a great wait.
When we came back we all got our food, and I was feeling the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Original I know. But it was definitely good. Something about it made it good. Odd. I would go back for it. And Im definitely adding this to my Little 5 Points pub destinations for when I need a beer, cause it was a cool place to chill.

Taco Mondays! Good deal on shrimp or veggie or meaty tacos, and chips and salsa. Plus, the chips are the fancy tri-colored kind. The salsa had a nice smokiness to it, and didn't taste like they just dumped a jar of Pace Picante into a bowl.
Lots of TVs both in the bar and restaurant area, so this might be a sporty venue on game days. When we went, Jurassic Park was muted on one tv (high-larious!), and good tunes were being played.
Yuengling pitchers...Check.
Fancier beer selection and interesting mixed drinks...Check.
Friendly, attentive, cute hipster servers...Check.
Great location in the heart of Little 5...Check.
Parking is probably a drag, especially on weekends, but we were able to walk from home. -

I'm totally digging this spot. I don't know how it's taken me so long to find it, but now that I have, it's going to be hard to get rid of me. Being the trivia whore that I am, I came here to play with a group on Tuesday night and plenty-o-fun was had. The trivia MC guy was a sarcastic wiseass and I loved him for it. He completely called us out for answering a (in hindsight) pretty easy question wrong. And deservedly so. I'm still embarrassed about getting it wrong. It haunts me. (Trivia is serious business.) But he was very funny and cool and that always makes feeling stupid a little easier.
The burger was surprisingly good and the taters equally so. The vibe is complete Little 5 which is always nice for people watching and experiencing the different. I love the different. Add a pretty cool beer list to the mix and I think I found my new trivia home. -
Review from Jenn D.
I used to be a hater, but I've found that the service here is always pleasant and I've started to enjoy stopping in for a beer on the way to a show or while waiting out a dinner reservation or waiting list.
The menu is not all that appealing to me, but a decent beer selection and cute waiters will keep me coming back. -
Review from Jerry C.
Great dive. I am drinking Jack - rocks at the bar. Order another- "same glass" she asks, "why not?" I reply cheerfully. For my cooperative spirit, I am rewarded with a HUGE cocktail. Yes, I like the way this works.
Food comes. Annie holds up a limp fry and makes a Viagra joke. The bartender immediately brings plates to re-plate our sandwich so she can send the fries back. We explain that Annie is from New Jersey and new fries are not necessary as we are in bit of a rush.
The Reuben sandwich is really good. I loved it that the kraut did not overpower. -

I could be the wrong person to tell you about the food at Corner Tavern. But that's only because I'm hooked on their turkey sandwich and garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes. It's a meal so crave-worthy that I get it upon every visit to Corner Tavern and sometimes make a visit there just to sink my teeth into an amazing sandwich and tasty taters. Their fried artichoke appetizer is also pretty darn good.
The service at Corner Tavern, minus one not-to-be-described surly bartender, is always on-point and friendly, and it's generally just a great place to hang out with a good, laid-back crowd of folks.
Their trivia on Tuesday is fun. The host is a bit on the dull side, but he plays a great selection of songs between questions. Their Sunday karaoke is also spectacular. -

Casual food and environment a bit smokey. I can imagine this place being a great place to relax on a summer night, with the garage door open.
I didn't enjoy the food all that much, but everyone else seemed to really enjoy theirs so it might just be my inner food snob. I enjoyed myself and would go back, but its not my favorite. -
Review from Captain D.
Atlanta, GA
An iniquitous den of ass-hattery if ever I stumbled sideways into one.
The Corner Tavern was just to be a short stopover for the Captain and his motley crew on our way to the Yacht Club. I only lashed out at the door to this dingy den of derrydownery on a whim... the whim being to see if me pal Seth were working the bar that night.
Seeing as how there were NO customers gathered around the bar I lurched forward and inquired politely: "IS SETH WORKING TONIGHT??!!"
...to which I received nary a glance.
WELL!! dear bartenders, the first rule of serving a pirate is to turn and face him, lest he strike ye down with the blunt end of his George Costanza wallet.
Why then did you choose to ignore Captain Drew?
Were it me mask? Me hairy chest? Me pearls and cowrie shells? Me gill cup?
Me large bulge?
(see George Costanza wallet, above)
Of course I asked me question once again:
"IS SETH WORKING TONIGHT??!! IS SETH WORKING TONIGHT??!! IS SETH WORKING TONIGHT YOU PALSY GITS??!!"
And still, none of the THREE employees behind the bar deigned give your good Captain the first indication of sentience.
People of Earth: The Little 5 Points Corner Tavern fails the Turing Test.
Or else that glamour that were sprinkled on me by the many-breasted strippers of Slappyass Prime really does work, meaning me and the other 4 members of my outlandishly dressed crew were phase-shifted out of the normal polite zone of the L5PCT.
But of course that couldn't be the case because, as we were stumbling back out the door to the street somebody yelled, at the top of their lungs, "FREAAAKSSS!!!!"
O.o
When's the last time somebody was called a freak in Little Five Points?
Mark this down on your inaccurate Earth-type calendars kids... Captain Drew and his pals may have broken some sort of L5P record... and if we did, we're wholly unprepared to pay to have it mended. -
Review from Sarah T.
When I first moved to Inman Park, my husband and I ate at Corner Tavern several times. The first time we went, the service was unbelievable; However each time we've been since - it's gotten worse and worse... until the last time we went (6 months ago). It was the absolute worst service I've ever had.
Let me also say; that we both worked in the service industry for years. We have a lot of sympathy and understanding when it comes to dealing with servers - except when you are blatantly ignored, beers sit empty for close to an hour, and don't receive your food for over almost 2 (and each person is served 20 mins. apart) when the joint is a ghost town. If the food or the ambiance made up for the lack of attention and the extremely slow kitchen, then that would be one thing; but it doesn't.
When there are so many options out there, why waste another moment where there are SO many things wrong with this place. Take your business elsewhere!Listed in: Inman Park Living

Hell yeah, finally. A bar that knows what it's supposed to be.
They have a perfect area for darts, slightly raised and separated from the rest of the bar, with two boards. The boards are slightly thrashed but not as bad as at the Independent (where the darts are right in front of the entrance, and you constantly have people interrupting your game).
Matt the manager was awesome, also the server was great, the beer list was great, everything was perfect. Dogfish 90 minute IPA on tap!! nuff said.
By orders of magnitude, the best bar in L5P. -

Little 5 used to be a kind of mecca when I was in high school. They had everything we thought was cool: independent record shops, weird clothing stores, all kinds of counter culture boutiques and so on. We made big plans to come down here on the weekends and wander around even despite the warning of our parents that this place was dangerous.
And back then it was: there were muggings. Kiddie gangs. You can still see the shoes thrown over the back power lines that show where you could easily buy drugs at any hour.
Now this place is pretty much a tourist trap. There are still places worth visiting: Aurora Coffee, Criminal Records, the Corner Tavern, but a lot of these other places exist for alternative kids' parents know where to go to buy their Christmas presents.
On the weekends just don't even bother. It's overrun with shopping loons. They try to make you pay $2 to park in the main strip with Junkman's Daughter even though you can go to the street behind and park for free.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Buffalo. Shrimp. Salad. You can get these little guys either on a salad or straight up like one of my dining companions. The waiter backed this entree choice and he was a good man to do so.
I've been here a few times, and have had pretty slow service in the past, but on my most recent trip, a super friendly and prompt waiter.
A very cool choice with the open windows out onto the street!Listed in: Cheap Eats in Atlanta, Atlanta Burgers!

I came one Tuesday night for Trivia and had a great time. It was a really fun crowd. The drinks (Margarita) wasn't that delicious but my fiends were happy with there beers. I wasn't really hungry so I ordered by old stand by - Fries.
I would definitely go back again to try other items on the menu and for Trivia. -
Review from Lauren S.
One of my favorite areas of Atlanta. Yeah it's changed a lot, yeah there's some weird people, but it is probably one of the most artistic, unique, crazy areas of town. Lots of good bars to go to, divey ones, taverns, places you can sit and have a beer and not worry about a "seen and be seen" scene.
Good vintage shopping and trendy boutiques, love all the historic brick buildings of this area.
Parking can be quite the pain, but when I feel the need to escape the car hell that Atlanta can be sometimes with its strip malls and wide open parking lots and garages, I like to come here.
I'll take this place over Atlantic Station ANY DAY.
**EDIT** - oh, and Criminal Records is here. Reason enough to go.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Honesty is such a lonely word... and honestly I hate going out alone... but a fella in my disposition cannot sit and write crappy heartache songs every night... I must eventually surrender to the night (think "ham")... so I'm the geeky guy behind his Macbook Pro, yelping away with a Barcadi/Diet by my side... nice.
The waitresses here are cute... the one in my section has red cowgirl boots and a demin mini... she's sporting my type of oh so sexy. AC/DC "Shook me all night is on the jukebox...."working double time on the seduction line..." nice.
This pain won't last. I've only been seperated for 4 months... still getting used to being single after 10 years of not exactly weded bliss.
Nice atmosphere in at the Little 5 Points Corner Tavern... localism.
Everybody is chatting away with everydody else. lots of close couples. I think I'm gonna get sick.
maybe if I get a Devils's Haircut, my odds will change. There's this place on Melrose that I'm going to go on tuesday.
Nice chandeliers here. Red light under the bar, illuminating the legs of the bar patrons. Lonelies trapped on cell phones.
screw it another. star. 3. That's about right. -
Review from Jen C.
"Meh. I've experienced better."
Thanks, Yelp. I couldn't have said it better myself.
I'm just kind of confused about the whole vibe of this place. You walk in and there's a dark bar, to the left is a huge seating area that looks more like a restaurant than a bar, in the back there's a smokey pool room, and in front there's a garage door that lifts up to form a patio-esque seating area. The whole thing is kind of scattered and there's no cohesive "feel".
There's about 15 beers on tap and another 30-ish bottles. Their prices were all over the place, though. One friend got a decent draft beer that was super cheap, and another friend got a nicer draft beer and was slammed with a huge tab. They don't list their prices, so you have no idea what you're getting in for.
We didn't eat there, so I can't speak towards their food, but they did have a big dish of candy out, which was awesome.
They're pretty easy-going about what they allow to go on in the bar. L5P is riddled with homeless people and my friends and I were definitely approached by some of them in the bar. It was actually pretty uncomfortable (this guy wouldn't leave us alone).
Bathrooms were super gross, even by dive bar standards.
Overall, just meh. -

I absolutely agree with everyone that this place has become a disgusting regurgitation of yuppie mainstream bullshit primarily used for tourists from Gwinnett to come on the weekends and gawk at the "freaks."
But that's why it doesn't have 5 stars, because this place was a pinnacle in my adolescence, and I believe is partly responsible for the person I am today.
I walked there every goddamn day after school in high school and junior high- we couldn't drive, what else were we to do? I met people with names like Rat, Merlin, etc. and learned new phrases like "spanging" from the local gutter punks who probably had rich parents back in Buckhead.
Smoked pot for the first time in front of some apt. buildings behind Fellini's. Proceeded to do it often in the old run-down shithole that was the remains of Bass High School. Got all my shopping needs taken care of: Crystal Blue (for your hippy needs), Abbadabba's (for your funky-ass shoe needs), Junkman's Daughter (for your needs.) And many many more. After you work up an appetite getting stoned, shopping, and talking to people with rodent names, there was Fellini's for an excellent slice of pizza goodness.
Sadly, Bass High School has been converted to over-priced yuppie lofts, they covered up the tree trunks we used to loiter by with burgular bars, Junkman's Daughter resembles something close to a Wal-Mart, and I don't even know what Fellini's is these days.
But Little 5 will forever hold a very special place in my heart.
And I fuckin' love the Elmyr. Review coming. -

This place has plenty of things for you to do, but the people mostly suck. They're all pretentious twits who think they're always right about everything. Why can't everyone in this world realize that I'm always right about everything and that their opinions come second?!
Wait, I mean. It's different to be right and try to defend it, but the people that stick around this area will argue that the Earth is flat and that if you point up you are pointing toward the Greek pigs that circle over the courtside wasteland. Yes, it'll be argued. Just go around and ask someone there.
This place deserves 1 star, but there's plenty of things to do there and sometimes you'll have the privilege of bumping into me over one of the other twits there. -

Yep, I still like it!
Our waiter was on point for the majority of the night and kept the beer flowing. My spinach and feta wrap was surprisingly tasty and the perfect amount of food.
Trivia (Wednesday nights at 8:30) was pretty fun, with the questions starting out embarrassingly simple and becoming increasingly harder. $30, $20, and $10 to the top 3 teams, all in bar cash that you can use that night! Definitely a nice perk that a lot of trivia locations hold back.
I adored sitting out behind the big garage door windows that were open on this mild February night. The people watching was phenomenal and it truly felt like a neighborhood kind of joint.Listed in: Little Five Points., Our Drinking Team has a Trivia…, Little Five Points., Step in to my office., Karaoke joints.

For me, Corner Tavern is just ok. They have pool tables, if you like that. They have dart boards, which I do sometimes partake in. But otherwise, it's just average.
I like that it's open air up front, that's pretty cool, but what I think turns me off about this place is the service. The waiters are a bit slow and they always seem annoyed to be taking your order. And as other reviewers have mentioned, it's not usually that crowded, so they don't have the excuse of being super busy.
It's worth noting that I've only been here to hang out and drink, never to eat. -

This place is fantastic! They have a good selection of alcoholic beverages and a great menu. I really recommend ordering the french fry sampler. You can choose 4 different dipping sauces and they are all delicious (and then you can save them for your burger :D).
My boyfriend doesn't eat beef, but he always finds a good substitute here. The atmosphere is fun/hip/young/relaxed...the trivia nights are pretty fun, too. Corner Tavern always makes for a fun date...and if you are computer savvy, you can find some good coupons online :) -

Oh wow! My gosh! Uh...Is he or is she or what is it? Oh dear? Stoned? Tripping? What? Hmm...
The best way to explain this part of town is that the run down, one room police station is in the heart of the store/restaurant/bar area of town and if you glance inside you'll find a hefty police officer reading a 3 lb book. Outside there is about a half a dozen blazed hipsters leaning on the graffiti sprayed brick walls of a vintage thrift store watching 2 guys blowing glass into specialty made pipes.
And I love it. I love it all!
