A must-see place on your itinerary in Ashland.  The Ashland Creek runs right through it, and there are lots of beautiful scenic paths along it... and a number of bridges crossing the creek.  There's nothing more soothing than to sit on a log near the creek, and listening to the calming rush of water.

There's a children's park, a lake with duckies, tennis courts... and really wonderful open fields.  Plenty of people were having picnics along the creek... there were some benches available for that.

My friends and I didn't walk the entire way up the hill... I suppose it could go for miles.  But we did end up driving up the hill, and found ourselves at a li'l lake-like reservoir.  The water was too cold for our taste, but there was a rope for swinging into reservoir, for those interested in taking a refreshing dip.  There's a nice little field there, which was wonderful for our lovely picnic, lying in the grass, reading magazines, and enjoying the weather.

Oh yea... and the restrooms are really clean!  It's rather surprising, coming from a Californian used to... the opposite.

Such a gorgeous park - wish I lived closer so I could come more often! The creek is sooo soothing, and I could sit next to it for hours. The deer family I met was so charming too (they are so used to humans that they're not afraid of going feet from you!). Looking at the photo of the park in autumn, I am so jealous that I don't get to experience that, but maybe in the future. Definitely will be coming back in the future. :) At must see/do in Ashland. :)

Somehow Yelp always finds a way to stir up some distant fond memory from my childhood. Somehow, accidentally, I stumbled across the page for Lithia Park and just about cried. I haven't been to Ashland since I moved back to Cali from there about 10 years ago, but my memories are still enchanted by this park.

Ashland is the kind of place where my ten year old brother and I would walk across the whole town on the railroad tracks to get to school and nobody locks their doors. Or at least that's how it was when I grew up there.

We lived one street above the park, on Granite. In the summers, my family would walk down to the park, grab a snow cone from the ice cream shop at the end of the plaza, and watch free concerts at the band shell. One thing I won't miss about LA whenever I leave: in Ashland you can actually see stars. Lots of them!

My younger brother and I loved playing in Lithia Creek under the waterfalls and pushing each other over in the spinning hamster wheel thing at the playground.

The first time I ever smelled weed was here on the 4th of July...I thought it was a skunk, and my former hippie mommy had to explain. Well she probably didn't have to, but it was Ashland. Once my 4th grade teacher got caught smoking pot in the boys bathroom during recess.

In any case, the park is beautiful, and romantic. Feed the ducks, play in the creek, take a hike, catch a show, have a picnic, propose to your girlfriend. Do it all.

This is an absolutely gorgeous city park.  I usually visit Ashland in the spring and spend hours walking through the park and taking in the scenery.  It just seems to go on and on for miles.  It is nestled into the hills close to the Elizabethan Theatre then runs along the creek.

It starts off like a normal park with a few open fields and play structures for the kids and I've noticed they updated the play structures which are much improved with a cool climbing tower.  Then it continues with parallel trails along the creek.  There are picnic benches, a band shell and paths that wind up the hills to the gorgeous neighborhoods in Ashland.  The colors really come alive if you visit in the fall and I usually see deer and other wildlife during my stroll.

It really is the perfect thing to do during the day between the matinee and evening shows.  Just beware the poison oak!

This is a wonderful park, similar in many ways to Bidwell park in Chico, CA.  The scenery is fine and the air is fresh.  Gayle and I come to Ashland every March/April and spend some quality time just strolling by the creek, watching kids (and deer) play, and maybe feeding the ducks.  We've never reached the end of the park as it goes on for miles.

The park starts right downtown and at the Oregon Shakepeare Festival grounds.  It's work an outing by itself or between or after a play.

My friend just had her wedding in this park, which is huge, green, and right off the main drag in Ashland. We literally saw three deer in the grass during the wedding rehearsal, and a few on the day of the wedding, just hanging out near the humans. This would be a great spot to have a picnic or just take a nap after lunch or a play at the Shakespeare Festival. The only drawback is you may have to hunt for parking, and there was an incident with the bride's car getting hit by an inattentive driver backing out while we were hanging wedding signs. But I digress.
