Lisa cut my hair today... I wanted it layered... oval in the back and side bangs in the front. $10

She did a quick and easy job $10.

$8 haircut?!  what a bargain!!!

Here's the key,  you gotta find someone that knows how to cut your hair well and stick with her!  I've had Lisa, Julie and Rose cut my hair, and they are awesome.   Granted, when I had someone else cut my hair, it was not so good.  They know how to do a proper fade.

However, if I was to go for a stylish haircut, I would probably go elsewhere.  This place keeps my hair well maintained as I can afford to go alot.

Watch out for weekends or after 3pm, there can be quite a wait!

I honestly think this place is more for guys than woman, even though you do a good amount of ladies from time to time. So I will base it for dudes everywhere.

I personally deal with Lizsa and Lisa only! So I will base my 6 year+ experiences with her. Not once have I left with a bad due... Everything gets covered and if I feel anything needs a touch up, it gets done no questions ask. She knows how I like it and at times she know what clips to use without asking. Throughout the years they have only bumped up $1.00

$8.00 Hair-Cuts? Considering a bad economy, inflation, and crazy bay area home prices One Dollar Gets You Covered!!!

This place is close to my work, I found it out of convenience but I keep coming back because it's a) fast, b) cheap c) decent.

I go here so irregularly I don't have one particular person cutting my hair all the time. My hairstyle is pretty simple though, zero fade and usually a light trim on top.

My son loves to go to Julie. I've been bringing him to her every other week for 7 years. She gives the best fades! He's gone other places with his dad, but he still would rather go to Julie. The other women are very friendly and welcome us with big smiles. My kids go right up to them and give them hugs. Great atmosphere, great price, great fade.
Fridays get very busy. Go to Julie or Ann.  The wait for Julie is usually the longest, but worth the wait.

I have been visiting this Sunnyvale gem for at least 10 years. All the girls that work here are friendly and will treat you like family if they start to recognize you as a regular. I have had my hair cut by everyone here and they all do a superb job. Julie and Rose are MY GIRLS though! They know exactly how I like my ears lowered and it's always fun chatting it up with them. Oh, and 8 bucks for a haircut?! Are you kidding me? That is such a deal that I, myself go once a week. If I don't go at least once a week I start looking like teen-wolf. Not a pretty sight. I clean up nice though thanks to my weekly visit with Julie or Rose.

T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E.  JUST TERRIBLE.  Save yourself the time and money and don't come to Lisa's for your haircut.

I am writing this review on behalf of my boyfriend who has given Lisa's Perfect cuts two chances, and was sorely disappointed both times.

The last time he went was the worst.  Not only did they cut his hair too short (again), they shaved off a nickel sized piece of hair on the back of his head!  So he came out with a very noticeable little bald spot.  Worse part?  The woman didn't tell him or offer to try to fix it or anything.  They just took his money and let him walk out the door.  I guess you get what you pay for.

I went to this place yesterday for a $8 haircut. At that price, I don't expect a perfect haircut despite the name of the place. It was empty when I arrived and I was seated quickly. After explaining how I wanted my haircut, I requested that they don't use the clippers. About 90 seconds into my haircut, another person walks in and sits down. He doesn't want any of the other stylists that are free (3 or 4), he wants to wait for the lady cutting my hair. At that point, my stylist switches to the clippers and proceeds to zip thru the session. Three minutes total and she's done. The other cheap places usually finish in eight to ten minutes, so I know she rushed the job. Only used the hair blower on the right side of my head before ripping off the poncho thingy. I still had hair on the top of my head, back of the neck, and left side.

The haircut itself was not great, but it's only $8 so maybe it was (barely) good enough. My problem was how they treated me as just an obstacle to their next client. I'll be going back to the $7.99 place a couple of steps down the road instead of returning back here.

I've come here twice - once for a haircut., once for an updo. Both with Ann.

The one thing I remember about my haircut was that she cut layers along the front and use a large round brush to blow dry them under a la "The Rachel" and I was just thinking about how dated the look and technique felt.

The updo is $30 but I think there's pretty much like ONE option for the style - ponytail + large curls pinned up. If you're looking for something different, you might want to go elsewhere because they don't offer that sort of flexibility.

MUST.STAY.AWAY....

First time I came here for a haircut/highlight, my dresser, Lisa did an amazing job! What made it even better was that it only cost me $50 for the entire thing! But my 2nd visit here..... was a complete disaster & let's just say that I was embarrassed to be out in public after the haircut.

My highlights were extremely messy and uneven, and wasn't even of the color I wanted! My haircut was so rushed and it looks like some kid chopped off my hair in a straight line with scissors.

P.S. I went and purchased an at-home hair dye kit right o fix the mess right after I got out of the salon. Needless to say, I'm NEVER EVER coming back here again.

got hair highlights here and she basically left the bleach on my hair way too long that my hair started to fall out. it was so weak and brittle, and on top of that the highlights were ugly!!!! $45 for highlights...no wonder, you do get what you pay for!

other times i'd get my hair cut here, i always specify not too short and i'd also ask them to stop because they're cutting too much than i wanted chopped off...

never coming back here again! not to be racist, but no wonder why a lot of females do not prefer *vietnamese* hair salons..

There is a big parking lot across the street by Macy's and as we all know downtown Sunnyvale is never packed  so getting to Lisa's Perfect Cuts is ridiculously simple.

Walking in the hairdressers are friendly and quickly direct you to either the  "waiting area"  or a chair to get their cut started. Since I found this place off Yelp and read that Ann was the way to go I went ahead and requested her to cut my hair. The problem was that I asked one of the middle age looking woman and I guess she didn't understand me as she directed me to the chair who I assumed was going to be run by Ann. However as i would later learn, my hair was cut by Yvonne. In general all the hairdressers have difficulties with English but it isn't like we are trying to discuss neuroscience.

Anyway I didn't request anything complicated, just a zero fade on sides, mid high and trim the hair. She didn't do a great a job to be honest, as she did nick me a few times and left a few holes/splotches on my head but she did take her time and spent more time than i was expecting.

Again can't really complain about the price, i'll try again and find this Ann girl. I don't go into McDonalds pay for a 4 dollar burger and expect a filet mignon, likewise Lisa's is an 8 dollar cut and you get what you pay for....a "respectable" cut.......

I've been going here for so many years that I have grey-hairs to show for it. :-(
I always choose the same hair-dresser, Julie. Even those who don't cut my hair treat me as their customer. I always feel welcome here.

Don't judge the expertise of the hair-dresser by looking at my hair! That's how it looks and that's how it will look as long as I have some left. :-( All the hair-dressers are very patient and skilled. Julie does my hair and Ann has in the past.

The haircuts are never rushed; I do avoid the busy periods (Fridays and weekends). The price at $8 is very, very reasonable.

I've tried this place a few times and have been very pleased.  I like the haircutters at the Sunnyvale Washington Ave location much better than the one on El Camino.

For only $10 ($8 plus $2 tip) you get a decent haircut.  This is considerably less expensive than the place I went before.  They have plenty of stylists so the wait is pretty short.

I pleased with my haircuts and will come back again!

$8 for a haircut! What a deal!

I had to get me one of those! I'm a guy and I like to keep my hair clean & short. So I normally get a haircut EVERY 2 weeks! I searched Yelp for a local recommendation and found Lisa's Perfect Cuts. The hair stylist, Snow, had the privilege to cut my hair today. She was friendly, professional, listened to my requests, and gave my a great cut.

I avoided the Sunnyvale lunch crowd by getting there before 12 noon. Parking lots are normally full, buy I scored and found a spot behind their building. There was hardly was a wait...maybe 5 minutes tops. They had 5 hair stylist on duty. This is one of two locations. The other one is on El Camino Real which stays open later at night (9pm).

Great service, a little typical "Asian Salon" looking, nice peeps, and of course...ONLY $8(+tip) for my haircut!!!

$8 gets you a haircut, $12 gets you a haircut with shampoo, $15 gets you a haircut with shampoo and blow dry.

I don't like to pay much to have my hair cut because I don't really take care of it. I found this gem browsing on Google Earth one afternoon, and ran down to get a haircut because I was just looking ugly.

The stylist fawned over me in a way I'm usually only accustomed to getting in expensive salons like I used to go to when I cared about my hair. It's wonderful to receive sweet, sincere compliments with a quick and easy haircut.

I popped back in a couple of months later to get my hair touched up. I met with a different woman, who was just as complimentary as the first, and just as competent.

Don't try to tell them how to cut your hair, but tell them what you're doing with it. I'm growing my hair out. My hair looks too much like a boy's. Telling them why I was there (beyond "trim") got me a much better cut than $8 deserves.

If you're like me, and you've got short hair that needs regular cutting, but doesn't need to be cutting edge since you'll be back in a month anyway, this is the perfect salon for you.

This place rules!
I went here the night of my Departmental graduation.  I usually spend a lot of money on "fancy" haircuts at higher end salons and it is usually hit or miss anyway.  My husband suggested I go here (where he gets his haircut).  My stylists name was Ann?  She is the lady in the left corner with the curly hair.  Anyway I got the shampoo/cut/style it turned out to be $19 dollars and my hair looked great!!  You really cannot beat that I have had the same exact experience at a salon and been charged $100.  After she was done with me she cut my husbands hair too.  When we went to the party I actually got compliments on my hair!  So needless to say this place will definitely become a regular thing for me.

I get my faded here every week..yes...every...week.

I've been getting my haircut here for the past 8 years and still going. The lady that cuts hair to the far left at the first seat as you walk in is Ann. She fades my sides only for only 5 dollars because I've been going there so long, and I'm always bringing my friends there.

Great place.

The staff are nice and friendly. I have gone to them at least on 4 occasions. The cuts outcome is never what you ask for. So I am not very happy with this area. Also, Ann highlighted my hair which turned out pretty cool but got the color spray washed into my ear canal which as a result gave me severe ear infection and cost me several hundred dollars for doctor visit and med.
As far as the cost they surprised me last time when they charged me full price for a second touch up of root only.
The cost for me for both of these highlights was $75 each to be exact . I don't know how others got charged lower.

I have been here only once (just FYI) but I was quite happy. I have spent $55, $65, and $75 (plus tips) for haircuts at trendy salons, and I got terrible haircuts--uneven, wrong for my hair type, and not the style I asked for. So I figured if I got a bad haircut here too, at least I would have saved some money and I'd be no worse off.

The problem is, I cannot get anyone to cut my hair blunt. Everywhere I go, no matter what I say, no matter how many pictures I share, they always LAYER the heck out of it. I hate that!

When I got to Lisa's and realized that their level of English is not very good, I was a little concerned. But I said "Blunt," and made blunt-cutting motions with my fingers. She nodded, and she cut it--blunt! I was astonished! She evened up the raggediness from the last ($65) haircut, and even blew it dry a little bit to check that it was even.

I was extremely happy and I plan to go back. Be aware, it's a no-frills place. But I got the BLUNT haircut I wanted, and I saved a lot of money.

My friend goes there religiously. Also, note about five of the yelpers who recommend this place have the same haircut he does (if their avatars are current). The Asian Cut. Like short on sides, long on top, small talk, small price? Welcome to Lisa's. Oh, it helps if you are a guy, or like boyish haircut. Women? Not so much.

I personally had gone about four times and got decent results (for the price).

But one fateful weekday I went in for a pretty basic cut: simple bob, not a crazy-severe PoshSpice-style A-line. Layered around the face without being the aforementioned "Rachel". After cutting silently (oh oh) and much frowning (oh noes) she said I was done. I looked at it and mentioned it looked very noticeably uneven. She said "that's okay, that's in style". Really? I asked if she could even it up, and she seemed reluctant. REALLY. Is "that's in style" the secret code for "get out of my chair"?

I'm sorry I don't recall the stylist's name, as I've never set foot in there since.

My tip: If you do go, try to get the redheaded stylist who really loves to chat you up (regulars, you know the one). Talk about your love life. She'll get all up in your business but your haircut will be fab.

Two words:  curly hair.

The kind that wraps around the fingers of the unsuspecting, usually resulting in a little nip or two with the scissors.  I usually start off apologizing in advance.

All of the people who work here are friendly and nice, and they deal with my silly hair just fine (though they would be able to complain in a language other than English, which they may well be doing).  Since I first went to the El Camino location in 1993, Julie has been far and away the most patient and is just the best in my book.  She's been working at this location for a while.

Once or twice when Julie isn't there they end up going a little bit too far with the clippers and I get a 35-10, but it has always grown back.  At least my hair isn't curled up for a while...

I've been going here since '97.  These were the folks that I let cut up my 10+ year hairstyle (rice bowl, parted down the middle).  I haven't stopped going to them ever since...well I did stop for a few months when I tried to grow my hair out...but that's another story.  Julie and Anne are the best.  I was worried for a bit when the price went up from $7 to $8 that it would keep on rising, but luckily it hasn't since.  This is not another run of the mill asian barber, these ladies know what they're doing.  I moved to Milpitas and I still drive over to Sunnyvale to get my hair did...not to mention Julie is freakin smokin' hot.

I have long and unpredictable hair and I have been going there for many years now.  I like a low maintenance cut and they do a great job without a long wait.  I usually go on Sundays and there is a really nice shorter lady with permed hair that is really friendly - in my experience she does the best job.  I should get her name!  Only ten dollars for a good experience - I will never go to a Supercuts again.

Four stars because sometimes the cut on my bf is not what I'd like it to be.

My first use of Yelp and very successful one. You can even get a good cut here if your hair isn't Asian, but instead is sparse hair on a sixty year old white guy. Oh, and they listened to me. She stopped cutting when it looked good,, and asked me for input. I wanted it shorter because I know that in 1 week it will look perfect. I can always wear a bag over my head until then. She gave me exactly what I wanted. A first.

I went to this place because of the positive reviews from other yelpers.  Well, I guess things change, because my experience was terrible.

The cost of a womens cut is $10 now.  For that price, I am now suffering the ill effects of a bad haircut.  I wish I could warn you about the particular stylist, but I don't know what her name is - just that she seemed younger than most of the group and had medium-long straightish hair.  After she was satisfied with her own work, I asked her if she could cut it so that it wasn't so blunt at the ends.  She just said I needed to use a round brush.  Then, when I was still inspecting the damage, she placed a new patron in her chair.  You can bet I didn't tip her.

So, be forewarned - not all the stylists are great.  Just cheap.

my bf complains about spending over $15 for a haircut so I recommended him to go here based on the reviews since its only $8.... boy was he disappointed. he came home and his hair was cut SOOOOO uneven. his right side was much longer than his left side and the back of his head basically looked the rocky mountains. maybe its cause of the lady who did it but my bf said that he would never go back ever again.... his comment was "even the $5 place back home in san diego was better..."

I used to frequent the Mountain view location. There are one or two women that do a good, professional job. There are also a couple that have no business cutting anybody's hair. Mei (pronounced May) was great but she was also the most requested. I moved from Mountain View and don't go there anymore. Its well worth it for the low price.

This was just what I'd been looking for. As one of the other reviews said, if you have short hair and need frequent, not-so-tendy cuts, this is the place. I went on a Saturday and the place was packed, but only waited 10 minutes. Everyone there had short hair, men and women. I have what is really a boy's cut and it took only a moment to communicate I wanted the same thing, again, only shorter. She was quick, polite, and did a great job - and for only 8 dollars! I'll be back.

I had the "perfect cut" as stated on the menu, it included shampoo, cut, and blow bry.  Indeed, it was virtually perfect.  I have medium long, curly Asian hair.  I told Ann (may be Anna) to layer my thick unruly hair but still kept it long.  The result? Much lighter hair in weight and more managable therefore, "beautiful" long layers on the sides and back which tempered gradually, and very nice longer bangs to shape my round face.  I've been going to hair salons at all price ranges, this is the BEST experience I've ever heard.  While the salon itself doesn't scream "salon" because of the lack of decoration, the stylist, Ann, is definitely worth 5 stars.  She's so skillful and knows how to make Asian hair behave, and she's polite and showed me how to style the bang too.  If you have thick, thick, medium to long length Asian hair like me, you will fall in love with Anna who made my hair look unbelievable.  They have 2 locations, the one I went was on Washington, 90 degree from the sign of Macy's.  Anna is off Friday and Sunday.
