Dr. Chorzempa (and her partners at her old practice in Oak Park) saw my wife through her first pregnancy five years ago. We thought she was great, and went back to see her again for this pregnancy.
I'm not sure why her Yelp rating's so low, we've been very happy with her.
I suppose she might not be a good personality fit for everyone, she's sort of casual and no-nonsense, so if you're going in there expecting New Age music and someone to hold your hand and tell you everything's going to be OK, maybe she's not the right fit for you, but we've found her to be very friendly, funny, and honest with us.
As far as the office, we've occasionally had to wait 10 minutes here and there, but certainly nothing out of the ordinary at any medical practice. The staff is polite and organized, not sure if other reviewers just ended up there on a bad day or something, but we couldn't disagree more.
We're just taking away one star because the practice is located next to a really good ice cream shop, which is a really bad idea.
I'd have stuck with my nice doctor in downtown Oak Park, except that my insurance coverage changed from HMO to PPO... And after my experience at Partners in Womens' Healthcare, it looks like I'll be switching doctors yet again...
I waited almost an hour to be seen here, although I'd come in 15 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment. I then waited an additional half-hour in the exam room where they stuck me (on the exam table, in a dressing gown, no less...) When Dr. Chorzempa finally came in, she was abrupt to the point of being almost rude, and rushed me through my exam. Seeing as it was my first time as a patient at her practice, I wanted to spend some time actually discussing my health concerns and needs with her... but she was so rushed that I didn't feel comfortable asking her any questions...
It then took them 3+ weeks to get back my test results for a routine annual exam, when the doctor left me a message on my voicemail she called me "Vineesha," and then I had to call back 3 times before they could put me in touch with a nurse to discuss my results.
I could've probably had a better physical exam at Stroger, for chrissakes... Don't go here if you're a woman with any sense of dignity...
Wow, I mean in no way to discredit the previous reviews, but I had and have always had a positive experience with Dr. Chorzempa from start to finish. The front desk was quick and helpful. I was always in a room in less than 5 minutes and seen in about 10 to 20 minutes. Dr. Chorzempa diagnosed my mom's cancer that her previous two doctors dismissed as menopause. She then answered the slew of questions I had whenever I saw her and made sure I had the care I needed. She has always been friendly and knowledgable. I had trouble with my insurance for a scheduled surgery, and the billing people were right on top of it. I would never trust my health care to anyone else.
