5 reviews for Lippold Park
I ran my first 5K here over the weekend. This place is HUGE.
I had never been to Lippold Park before, but I plan to come back again. The running trail around the park was interesting, and the race passed by the dog park, a bunch of wetlands, people biking and playing frisbee golf, baseball fields and a driving range. Definitely a lot to do here!
Lots of soccer fields, baseball/softball fields, nice playground, chipping green & driving range, and home to the Crystal Lake Raiders http://www.clraiders.net/ youth football league.
Also has a nice "doggie" area.
The only problem with this place is it's so big you might have trouble finding your way around the first few times you visit.
I've so far only utilized Lippold for the driving range, but of the number I've been to, this is by far the best.
Grass tees and lights, so you get the most realistic golf experience into the twilight. There's a range about 2 minutes away from my apartment that I'll pass every time to get here. Check Crystal Lake's park district website to find deals and other services the park offers (frisbee golf, a dog park, mini golf, and soon batting cages and a skate park).
Thank you yelp. My friend and I went here the other day. Very well priced 4$ small around 35 balls, med. 7$ around 70 balls, and a large is 10$ for 110. U hit from the grass. There is a sand trap to hit out of and u can also chip onto a different green. U can go here with 10$ buy a small and spend 2-4 hours chiping and putting to your hearts content then hit the tee with your driver to end the day. Then with the left over money u can stop at the mcdonalds and get something to eat. I plan on visiting this place often. I forgot to mention that it is not that busy. I was there on a weekday from noon till 4 and it was never crowded. This place is an awesome find.

Come on a Saturday and you may find yourself squeezed out by the sponsored tournaments. Challenging on a few holes, but not too far fetched for a starter. Winds pick up here more so than anywhere else I've played. Heavier discs play better here as do rollers.
By the end of this 18er you will stink of deer shit n urine as well as rotting wood.
Parking's a bitch since it's small and gravel though parking on the grass is ok.
Also, you may catch a few soccer games here.
Replay: moderate.
