Went to a wedding down the street from here this Sunday and I had so much fun here while the lady was attending to pre-wedding details.
Atmosphere: Nice high ceilings and long wooden bar great you as you walk in, there is a separate dining area but I was here for beer and sports. Pennsylvania no-smoking laws just came into effect so I didn't have to deal with the smokey issues faced by previous reviewers. Two large flat-screen TVs on either end of the bar for clear sports viewing and a huge projection TV in the dining area. Awesome local clientele, definitely regulars, that were into the games and super-friendly.
Food/Drink: I'd say about a dozen beers on tap, the usual suspects and a few of the rarer treats. Bottles of Orval (excellent Belgian ale) and Weyerbacher as well. Dynamite wings to dilute the gullet full of beer.
Service: Justin and Kyle (apparently her twin sister works here as well) really made my experience. They introduced themselves and their friendly conversation and attentive service clinched the fifth star. Once they found out I was attending a wedding it was on.
In this small town, your options are quite limited and many of your options are too fru-fru for my liking. If you're looking to go out and have a good time (especially if this involves a game of any kind, I saw futbol gear here as well British pub and all), look no further. -

Review from Nicole E.
We went here for a Saturday lunch. I had the fish and chips and hubby had a lamb burger. He was very pleased and I enjoyed my lunch well enough. There was an extensive beer menu - if you like that kind of thing :)
The atmosphere was kind of dead and smokey. The service was a bit slow - but very friendly. I wouldn't mind going back to see what it's like when more people are around, but I won't be fussed if we don't get that opportunity. -

the sandwiches at this place are EXCELLENT. i've stopped in several times on my way to and fro' and have to agree that this place is WAY too smokey, but only later in the evening.
as far as the ambiance goes- i love it. it's smallish, cozy, dim, pretty clean, and has alot in common with the pub at the alchemist and barrister, or john and peters. not size-wise but the feel and comfortability factors, although it's lacking some cozy nooks for...
fantastic selection of draughts like newcastle, hoegarden, blue moon and all the other usual suspects. more than a dozen different draughts, i believe. there is a bartend-trix there who is a knockout, but she could be a little more attentive. i can't believe how hard it is to get a drink at that bar. every time i've been. she's very friendly and pleasant and i really hate to comment, but...
the crowd is a little weird sometimes. young guys and middle aged couples. i like the couples but the 20-something single guys have to go. and the music the last 2 times i was there was VERY BAD. testosterone rock. no thanks. cougar bar? absolutely. swinger bar? probably, but i don't kiss and tell. ever. ;-)

full bar
nice people
