"YES!!!! Monaghans!! A Cub's bar! A fricking Cubs bar!! In the city! I have been looking for this place awhile. I guess it took me longer…" read more »
Great service! I believe the owner was the bartender and he hooked it up, very nice guy and wonderful curly fries and fish n chips... enjoyed them much. And they had a deal of the night $6 for a ppr pint and shot of Jagermeister.... LOVE JAGER!!! CHeck it out if your in the sunset... they also have a big TV=)
I came here on the night of my birthday and had a nice experience even though it was the 3rd bar that we've been to. The place is nice and spacious and the bathrooms are clean! The bartenders are super friendly and the owner? or maybe just the guy that works there was even nicer. Came here to hang out while we played Bullshit and drank some beers. Didn't get to eat anything but I will try next time.
Another local pub in the sunset that i enjoy going to. The environment is great, great bartenders, huge TV for the warriors game, nice open space for a game of kings cup or just to hang out! The best part of the bar is the darts machine!! It's electronically operated which is awesome, because then I DON'T HAVE TO SUBTRACT NUMBERS MYSELF! LOL... i'm soo lazy!
Drinks are cheap, and food is great.. the garlic fries are really tasty. Great competition between underdogs and Lincoln tavern.

They renamed the place so now I have to review it AGAIN? Well, that's why God invented copy-paste. Just kidding.
But really, not too much has changed. Same cheap drinks, same classic park-side location, and there's still a small pub menu, though not as good as Durty Nelly's. The crowd seems to have taken a turn for the Asian, and they now have "famous" Guitar Hero nights. Actually, while we here these guys were playing Rock Band the whole time. Pretty entertaining, though eventually they ran out of songs. When they started playing "Don't Fear the Reaper" a second time, that was our cue to go.
Overall, I felt a little more at home this time than in the previous incarnation, so color me on-board. One request: could they dim the lights just a bit more? I'll totally give them another star...

This place is awesome. It's the best bar in the sunset or richmond. They have really really good food with a fab cook. The owners are really cool too. They talk to everyone that frequents their bar and people think they are cute too. Well I can't judge cuz i have a bf but other patrons that come in always try to hit on them. The bartenders are awesome too. They make yummy unique drinks that will get ur head spinning. The juke box has plenty of songs to choose from.
The bathrooms are SUPER clean. This is a plus in my book!!!
There is a outdoor smoking area/patio too. How can you go wrong??
You can park in the park and walk right over.

i would come here again.. i like that there is a inside...outside smoking area.. if that makes any sense..where you can order drinks through a window..but yet...still drink it outside but inside...i don't smoke..but i like that idea =]

This place is a pretty cool hang out in the Sunset....I never really noticed it until a few months ago. They have their own smoking room with a huge window and heat lamps....yay. The chicken strips are yummy.....they usually get stolen from me before I even take a bit. Its even cool that they have Rockband for their patrons. Great idea for the Stoplight party.....I wore black there...LOL.
A great neighborhood bar.
The owners are two real guys making a go of it.
Tons of screens for sports and the making of a good hipster crowd.
While not an Irish pub anymore it is definitely a beer bar and not a place to get a cocktail.
$3.00 PBR's how can you go wrong.
not a fan. took the bartender seven minutes and several visits to the drink guide to make a weak, overpriced bloody mary. I guess that's what I get for not ordering a pint!
This place is awesome. My new favorite bar. The owners are extrememly friendly and really down to earth. They love to come over and chop it up, and it seems like they genuinely care about your answer when they ask how you are doing.
This is a local neighborhood pub, and it has a lively and upbeat vibe, where it seems like just about everyone knows your name. The type of place where you feel comfortable just pounding a few pints or downing a couple shots of grey goose.
Sports plays on the multiple TVs so its also a great place to catch a game, also a pool table, and darts, and with a juke box, it lets you be the DJ. Plus they have a full kitchen so if you are hungry, order up. Good food too!!!
$2 tuesdays, and rock band on wednesdays and sundays... "You had me at $2 dollar tuesday!"
I am totally there
I've stopped by a number of times and the crowd ranges from just a few people to being full-on packed. Best nights to go are on weekends. They have a full bar and a good number of beers on tap - prices for drinks are about average/slightly more generous than SF standards. As others have noted, the curly fries are awesome but I haven't had a chance to try out their other food. They have DirecTV on all their screens and are more than helpful when you are looking for some game on an obscure channel. If you want a big tv to watch a game on while sitting at the bar, this is probably not the place. They do have a a few big screens, though. The pool table is a nice touch. Probably the best thing is that they have a patio which is attached to the bar but is outside, so you can smoke in the fresh air with drink in hand while not disturbing other non-smokers inside. Also, the bar is pretty well kept which is comforting knowing that I don't have to panic when dropping my coat on the ground.
Perhaps I'll stop by again and bring my friends
when's the last time you ordered a drink for the bartender that they had never tried?
for me, it was at the lincoln tavern. soco-lime shot.
when i walked in, i was amazed. this place was p-p-paacked! i kept looking around for some sort of event happening, or maybe a simple explanation why this place was so dang poppin?
drinks are served in plastic cups, shots too, and they have some tasty bar food like curly fries and garlic fries. they have a walk up window where smokers can feed the urge while getting fresh libations.
This is the old Dubliner....under new management. Still a good local neighborhood bar, the bartender's gave us free fries! After a few c-tails free fries are always solid!
cozy, chill spot to hang out with good friends and have some inebriated times.
