I find it hard to believe, after leaving in the seattle area all my life that I had never gone to this gem of a park! This park has it all, hiking trails, exercise stations, a play ground for the kids, and a beach to walk on with driftwood to balance and jump to and from.
There are two parking areas, one which is closer to the vashion ferry. I am excited to go back in the summer time and check out the salt water pool. Winter, spring, summer and fall this is a great place to go and explore. -

I just moved to West Seattle and wanted to go somewhere to walk and think. I was so happy that I picked Lincoln Park! There are many walking trails. I just decided to get lost and find my way around. I started walking and ended up walking down to the rocky beach. There is a walking trail all along the water and it is a gorgeous view. They also have BBQ's you can reserve and picnic areas. There are tons of benches along the trail to if you want to sit and have a rest. And there were lots of people walking (it was around 5pm) so I felt safe to walk alone. When walking back through the park, I picked a different trail to go back that gave me a run for my money - tons and tons of steps. It gave me the challenge I needed. There are tons of beautiful trees that tower and provide shade. The park is also dog friendly.
This park made me glad that we moved to West Seattle. It is beautiful and offers lots of different things to do. -

I have only been to Lincoln Park twice and don't know much about it.
My first trip was spent in a grassy area close to the main road (Fauntleroy Way). There was a wading pool and play area for the kids. It was a good time, but there was nothing setting itself apart from most other parks I go to closer to home.
However, my second trip to the park I made it down to the waterfront area which has a few shelters for eating and bbqing and a long paved trail for walking, biking, whatever. It is a perfect area to breathe deep and take in the sights. There is a 180 degree view of the sound and the Olympic Mountain Range. Also close to the park is the ferry terminal that transports riders to Vashon Island. I find that I always enjoy seeing a ferry cruise across the water. It's part of the Seattle experience I guess.
This area of the park definitely encourages me to make return visits. -

I just moved to the Seattle area and have been going to various places to explore and sight seeing...and out of all
Places I've seen I must say this is my favorite! Love all the trees and the trails that lead down to a rock beach that runs along a paved walk way! With Plenty of benches to sit and listen to the waves crash, watch the ferries pass and if you're lucky you can see seals swimming along!! Plus this place is well taken care of, I haven't seen ANY trash or homeless people laying around. -

It's got the woods, the beach, the parks, the concrete pathway, the covered areas, the grassy fields. It's got everything.

One of the very best parks in ALL of Seattle. A beautiful old growth forrest that drops down to the sparkling waters of Puget Sound.
Walking trails. Rocky beaches that are great for critter observation during low tides. Reservable BBQ's and picnic areas. Grassy fields for baseball, softball and/or soccer. TWO playgrounds (one at the north end of the park, the other at the south end). A really cool zip-line. A giant wading pool for the little kids. The Coleman pool (the only salt-water swimming pool in Seattle I believe). Great views. Bald Eagles, owls & Osprey regularly nest here. Trees that tower above your head and provide much needed shade on sunny days. Dog friendly, as long as your furry friends are on a leash and you pick up their poop!
Other notes: The park is within walking distance to the Fauntleroy Ferry. There are two parking lots, and street parking is also available along Fauntleroy Way SW. But do watch out for the posted parking hours along Fauntleroy. It's OFF-LIMITS during peek ferry commute times. And you will get ticketed and/or towed. Also, beware of parking in the surrounding neighborhoods, which often have permit parking available only.
Acres and acres of stunning Pacific NW beauty. We are so lucky to have this little slice of heaven here in West Seattle. -
Review from Sarah R.
I love this park. Close to home, breathtaking views, steep trails to hike, & poop bags for my dog. What more could I ask for?
Oh yeah, there's also a pool, picnic areas, & a couple of playgrounds for kids. -

Cool park to run, picnic and apparently, salmon fish! Monkey enjoys the running trails and shoreline. One of the most relaxing places to discover while running Seattle.

One of the best parks Seattle has to offer! Fantastic view, trails and hills to run on, Coleman Pool (an outdoor, heated, saltwater pool), BBQ/picnic areas, playground area, fields, pull up and dip stations...you name it.
Best park to watch the sun set in Seattle. -

This is an excellent place to walk or run by the water without the traffic of Alki.
It's amazingly extensive. With a pool, a beach for beachcombers, trails, baseball fields and kiddie pools to name a few.
I didn't realize how large is was till I moved to West Seattle and I am thankful I did. -
Review from Dave S.
Still really like this park. Love that the pool is now open and love running by the water. Since the weather has started getting nice I've run at least once and sometimes twice a day. Wish the sun would be around longer.

This is a great park because it has it all!! Beautiful trails, amazing trees, open areas for picnics, and of course, the amazing water access!! Its just a really great place to do whatever sort of outdoors-y thing you desire. My choice is walking the dogs through the trails and down to the water, then stopping in an open area by a tree to read (ahh, perfection.....sigh)
My only complaint about this place is that I would not recommend it for a woman walking alone. There are just too many "dark corners" and stuff. All the more reason to have a dog though! :) -

Each day, I find more lovely discoveries.
I was brought here by a friend and her family. Our son's simply enjoyed playing on the beach while we enjoyed a chat on the various large logs to sit.
The park has an playground, a swing attached to a zip line, and plenty of picnic tables.
The major downfall I found was actually the people in attendance.
One kid, who was old enough to know better, was throwing his candy wrappers into the ocean. Where was his parents? I have no clue.
There were several pieces of wood on the beach that had nails sticking out of them. Almost like someone took a desk ask broke it apart in pieces.
The paths do look clean and maintained. I hear there is a salt water pool and a beautiful view.
Overall, the park is beautiful. -

What a great big park! There was so many trails bbq spots some were covered some were open, it seemed like there could be some serious fun happenings going on, there was some great scenery spots for the walking around w/Love. Took part of our engagement pics here can't wait to see how they turned out!

Best park in Seattle, hands down :)
I take my puppies here every weekend and the park never ceases to let me down. Bald Eagles are seen almost every time I go. -

I become a kid every time I come here! Perfect way to spend my first summer weekend in Seattle. Whoo hoo! No rain finally!
Beautiful hike, beautiful beach, great little ferry, large parking space, excellent spaces for BBQ, large playground for kids (and adults ahaha), excellent neighborhood, good food nearby, just plain perfect!
Well..ok..so it's not Hawaii but it's a pretty darn good beach in WA that's just fantastic for LARGE parties. I've attended several large picnic events here with over 100+ party size. This place is so huge, it's suitable for everyone! There's great trails for walking your dog, large grass lawn to do whatever you wish, and picnic tables all around. The kids will never get bored and neither will you!
Don't forget to stop by California Street for yummy food! -

I run to Lincoln park on the weekend with my dog, his 4 steps to my 2, the beat of our rhythm slapping the hard dirt trails, the pungent smell of decaying leaves sharp in our senses, the view of the ferries and the Sound beyond soothing our frayed week away.
The park is huge, and houses Seattle's only public saltwater pool, which is on the beach, basically. I love this park. It feels like home to me. -

I love Lincoln Park! It has parking! It has trails! It has ball fields! It has tennis courts! It has children play areas! It has a heated outdoor, salt water pool! It has picnic areas! It has amazing views of the sound! It has just about anything you could want in a park!
I love coming here and walking through the trees when it's sprinkling out, everything is so fresh and clean and smells like nature. I love coming here on a sunny day and walking through the shade of the trees to cool off. I love coming here in the fall after the leaves change the colors are amazing. I love coming here to walk along the water and enjoy the wonderfulness that is Lincoln Park. I love coming here to watch Shakespeare in the Park, but only the afternoon show not the evening one or else I get eaten alive by the bugs. I love coming to watch friends play baseball/softball at the fields! I love coming here for picnics with friends and enjoying the good times that are had. There are so many reasons to love Lincoln Park but these are some of mine what are yours? -

A freaking gem of a park if there ever was one. I took my special charge Sofa for a sunset walk here. We were treated to a magnificent time- complete with scenic vistas, roomy trails, and the prettiest stretch of coast I've seen in city.
That night, as the crimson sun slipped behind the Olympics, casting it's pink glow across the horizon and reflecting opalescence on the water I decided to try and convince my husband to move to West Seattle, just to be closer to this place.
Plus, those stairs back up from the beach are a f**king ass kicker.Listed in: Park Life!

A daily retreat after work during the spring and summer months and at least once a week during the colder months.
Miles of trails to wander on, minor hiking (for us not so in shape folks), beach walks, a swimming pool down on the lower north side, a wading pool in the upper north side, coupled with jungle gyms, swings, baseball AND tennis courts, not to mention the extremely friendly squirrels who are all too happy to chase you down for that little bag of cheez-its.. be warned - I had one climbing up my leg to get at some stinkin chow mein - I think I'm traumatized for life now.
You can reserve the shelters and numbered tables for picnics - any unnumbered table is first come first served.Listed in: My Neighborhood

This is one of the few Seattle parks that has plenty of parking!!! Combine the parking lot with the additional street parking and you have a winner! Even during the warm summer months here in the Pacific Northwest there is plenty of room for everyone. I find something new to enjoy each and every time we come to this park.
From beach walks to a paved walk loop around the park this is one of the fine crown jewels in West Seattle. The ballfields are clean and well kept and the playground equipment, while it's nothing too fancy, serves the kiddos well.
The best kept secret is being able to rent the covered picnic areas from the Park's Department. For a nominal fee you can reserve the area and host your family gatherings here!
Gather up the kids, pack a lunch and get out and enjoy the rays!Listed in: Fun stuff to do outdoors...

I love Lincoln park. Some seculed woods where I have never failed to see Varied Thursh. There is another area that is always teaming with harder to find warblers, owls, Band-tailed Pidgeons, Tits, Nuthatchs, sparrows you name it. Water viewing is a bit tricky involving a trek down to the beech. You can also scope from above. Be sure to scope the ferry terminal for Scoters etc.
For you non-birders the rest of the reviews here sum the park up very well. It is a great jewel in Seattle area.Listed in: Places to see birds

As an ex-competitive swimmer, I remember coming here for swim meets (at Colman pool) when i was younger. Salt water is supposed to make you swim faster. As an adult I can appreciate the beautiful surroundings. This is a 50m pool (it is twice as big as normal sized pools) so even though it is popular there is enough room for everyone. If you come during lap swim you have to be prepared for the longer laps if your endurance isn't quite that great.
As far as the park, it is simply beautiful. You can overlook the entire sound and choose to be in solitude or around others as the park is very big. Additionally, the park really isn't that far from the city. There is a kiddie pool, the big pool, beach, a paved area for bikers/rollerbladers/runners, picnic areas with benches, tons of trails, lookouts, a baseball diamond and who knows whatelse!Listed in: Favorite Things

One of my favorite parks! I often choose it over busy Alki. Several trails to choose from, picnic areas, playgrounds, in the summer: toddler wadding pool, Shakespeare in the park and Coleman pool to name a few of the pros. Yes, the parking lots are indicative of how crowded it is. However because of its size and its nooks and crannies, it doesn't feel crowded.

Domesticated squirrels that eat from your hand.
Random exercise equipment along the walking trails.
A paved path to run along the sound and a dirt path along the top of the ridge.
Lots of smaller paths, covered in vegetation to explore.
Watch kids play ball, or just enjoy all the dogs running around happy to make a new friend.
I really miss living two blocks away from this park. -

Though it was quite the hike from the parking lot to the picnic areas, it's more than worth it. The paved walk way by the water makes for easy foot and bike traffic. The smell of beach and BBQ is more than a happy pair, but the park does a great job in providing both beach and woods scenes for its visitors. The open fields are very much hidden through the park and find them is always crowning discovery, especially when lugging around a cooler full of hot dogs and Coronas. I visited on an unseasonably warm day, perhaps it was for that reason that the park was filled with people.
There were a few times where the neighboring BBQers would step into our grounds, but the joys of being outdoors are suppose to be shared in the first place.
Message to those neighbors, drunken 30 year olds ex-fraternity should a) stop pretending to know how to throw a football b) quoting Old School is not funny anymore c) use sunscreen, please. -
Review from Robby C.
The waterfront here is gorgeous and is worth the seemingly endless trek from the parking lot. For as large as the park is, it is odd to me that other reviewers have complained about crowding which never seems to have been an issue for me. Granted, the few times we have visited this park have been either in the late afternoon during the summer or either by myself for an early morning run in the fall or the spring. There is something about running through the trees or along the waterfront and just the amazing changing scenery of the park that keeps you motivated to take that next step even when your body has completely given up.
Also, there are a lot of unkempt trails here and it seems that, even though we frequent this park quite a bit, we keep exploring quirky objects and locations within the park that we have never seen before. -

What an enormous park! It's hard to know what to do there first. We've wandered by this park on several occasions on the way to the ferry. It always seemed like a nice place to stop.
We didn't quite know what to do, so we just started walking down one of the many trails and ended up at a great wooded playground. Filled with kids and it even had a nice zip line for the older kids. Cool.
We followed the path down to the water and got to take in the fabulous view and finally stood on the beach that we always saw from the ferry. The paved path seemed like a great place to bike or blade but was so crowded I doubt that would ever be a possibility.
My biggest problem with this park was the beach actually. While it was a breath-taking view and had great pavilions, the beach was treacherous to walk on. Slippery rocks with barnacles everywhere. So don't expect a lovely walk on the beach. And the cleared off area is apparently private. Sigh.
I'm sure I'll be back at some point to explore the trails. -

Perfect park for a jog down to the beach, surrounded by trees and nature. The pathways are always well maintained, and clear of debris - there's areas to have events, parties, BBQ - I love it!
Parking is nearly always readily available, and there's bathrooms.
I have fond memories of my pop's taking me here every other weekend on his turn for parental visits. Lol! -

Probably I will wish that I could live there is what will happen...BBQing every night in our own little BBQ hut, sleeping under that stars with the water rushing over the rocks, waking up and swimming in heated salt water pool!!!!! .....eating Marion berries.....walking my dog....possibly seeing some sea lions?!
What?! No camping?! -

People never come out to West Seattle because it's "far, " but although we no longer live there, we still stop by to walk our dog. The beach is very long and really has stunning views of Puget sound and the Fauntleroy Ferry. It's the ideal place to take out of town guests so they can be jealous that we live in Seattle. There are also lots of little path through the woods with lots of squirrels for dog to chase and the playground has a long zipline.

I have been going to this park since I was in a stroller. Lots of things to do here. My favorite thing to do when I go is wonder around in the unmarked trails. Or if I am feeling ambitious its fun to start at the main part of the park ("up top" if you will), and take the trail down to the water.
There are tennis courts, a baseball field, swings, a play area for kids, picnic shelters, a wading pool, and Coleman pool (saltwater pool).
Lots of fun for the whole family, including the furry friends!
p.s. But if you bring your doggies please obey the leash laws and scoop your poop - it just makes the park more enjoyable for everyone. Thanks!!!!!! -

Granted, as pull up bars go, they are surely (mostly) functional. Lincoln Park (at time of press a deserved 4 1/2 average from fellow Yelpers) deserves better.
Functionality. They are sturdy, composed of solidly-anchored wood and galvanized steel. However, the three bar heights are oddly chosen. I am a rather tall fellow and had to bend my knees to use the very tallest bar, and my Vietnamese friend Minh needed a boost to reach the shortest bar. Surely, these bars were constructed before West Seattle was the lovely cornucopia of cultures that it is today.
Beauty. The triangular structure lends itself to - uhh - I really have no idea what they were thinking here. It looks like NOTHING else in Lincoln Park, and if the bars weren't stuck on a back trail, hidden amongst trees, they would be an eyesore. I would lobby to have them replaced with structures of beauty, designed and crafted by local Native Americans -- that is, if I weren't consumed with finding acceptable pull up bars on which to work out. -

This park is glorious! I'd been down here in high school for cross-country meets, but somehow it's existence seemed to have slipped my mind.
I met a friend at Lincoln Park for some running in the sun along the Seattle waterfront. The view is spectacular, all the perks of walking along Alki Beach without the hoards of people blocking the path. The air is salty-sweet, and there's a pleasant breeze as you trek the path, paralleling Puget Sound. This park stretches to the banks of the Vashon Ferry, and the bike/walking path eventually meets up with Alki Beach proper.
Up above there are many, many trails through the woods, and dogs are welcome. It was the best place for a cardio workout, we ran the trails, beach path, AND did stairs. That combination definitely got our blood pumping as we exercised in the sun. I'd love to come back here for more of a leisurely stroll. Lincoln Park is ideal for a warm, sunny Seattle day. -

What does Lincoln Park NOT have? It's one of the best parks in Seattle. I bring the kids for swimming in the summer, picnics, playing, softball, playing on the playground equipment, beach walks...etc. It's the best!
Lincoln Park has 2 playground areas. The south playground is nice and has a great swing for the kids to swing down a hill. I get a little nervous at the south playground with the little kids because the playground equipment is a little higher off the ground. The north playground is better for the smaller kids because the playground equipment is a little lower to the ground and you don't have to worry about your kids falling. -

The best park in town. It has it all.
I'm usually generous with giving out the stars, but in this instance, the absolutely disgusting bathrooms down by the water take one away. They could however be the grossest bathrooms in town. -

what more can you ask for in a park? a great park is multi-purpose. whether you are alone, on a date, with the family, with the dog- there's something for everyone. jog, walk, picnic, play baseball, bbq.

I LOVE this park! It's freaking huge, there's almost everything here, a play round for little kids like a jungle gym, monkey bar, etc. There's also trails for hiking, I think I stumble upon a couple fields as well, not sure if it was baseball, or tennis court or something like that. There's a nice view of the waterfront as well. I think the SUPER SUPER nice part is the outdoor pool, the water's salt water, but in the summer when it's really hot, this outside salt water pool is a MUST! if you haven't been to this park you should really give it a try, BBQ in the summer, or walk your dog, hike, or swim in the outdoor pool.

My first experience with this park was in the pouring rain...and I still loved it. Seriously beautiful views, trails, a public saltwater pool right next to the beach, tons of picnic areas, cool swings, bbq areas. What more could you ask for?
