I really really love Lincoln Park....and I havent even been to Coleman Pool yet! Can you imagine how I will feel when I have?! Probably I will wish that I could live there is what will happen...BBQing every night in our own little BBQ hut, sleeping under that stars with the water rushing over the rocks, waking up and swimming in heated salt water pool!!!!! .....eating Marion berries.....walking my dog....possibly seeing some sea lions?!
What?! No camping?!
A freaking gem of a park if there ever was one. I took my special charge Sofa for a sunset walk here. We were treated to a magnificent time- complete with scenic vistas, roomy trails, and the prettiest stretch of coast I've seen in city.
That night, as the crimson sun slipped behind the Olympics, casting it's pink glow across the horizon and reflecting opalescence on the water I decided to try and convince my husband to move to West Seattle, just to be closer to this place.
Plus, those stairs back up from the beach are a f**king ass kicker.

Used to walk through here on my lonesome A LOT when I first moved to Seattle in the early/mid-90's. Beautiful. Huge. Peaceful.
I really need to go back for a visit. All my memories are hazy and need updating.

I have been going to this park since I was in a stroller. Lots of things to do here. My favorite thing to do when I go is wonder around in the unmarked trails. Or if I am feeling ambitious its fun to start at the main part of the park ("up top" if you will), and take the trail down to the water.
There are tennis courts, a baseball field, swings, a play area for kids, picnic shelters, a wading pool, and Coleman pool (saltwater pool).
Lots of fun for the whole family, including the furry friends!
p.s. But if you bring your doggies please obey the leash laws and scoop your poop - it just makes the park more enjoyable for everyone. Thanks!!!!!!

The best park in town. It has it all.
I'm usually generous with giving out the stars, but in this instance, the absolutely disgusting bathrooms down by the water take one away. They could however be the grossest bathrooms in town.

Though it was quite the hike from the parking lot to the picnic areas, it's more than worth it. The paved walk way by the water makes for easy foot and bike traffic. The smell of beach and BBQ is more than a happy pair, but the park does a great job in providing both beach and woods scenes for its visitors. The open fields are very much hidden through the park and find them is always crowning discovery, especially when lugging around a cooler full of hot dogs and Coronas. I visited on an unseasonably warm day, perhaps it was for that reason that the park was filled with people.
There were a few times where the neighboring BBQers would step into our grounds, but the joys of being outdoors are suppose to be shared in the first place.
Message to those neighbors, drunken 30 year olds ex-fraternity should a) stop pretending to know how to throw a football b) quoting Old School is not funny anymore c) use sunscreen, please.

I love Lincoln park. Some seculed woods where I have never failed to see Varied Thursh. There is another area that is always teaming with harder to find warblers, owls, Band-tailed Pidgeons, Tits, Nuthatchs, sparrows you name it. Water viewing is a bit tricky involving a trek down to the beech. You can also scope from above. Be sure to scope the ferry terminal for Scoters etc.
For you non-birders the rest of the reviews here sum the park up very well. It is a great jewel in Seattle area.

The yay. I think for adults I could expand this review.
They have clean and sturdy playground gear, lots of nice paths for the nature lover including a trail that goes from t he pet trail on the peak/big hill all the way down to the water next to the saltwater pool. Yeah Coleman pool uses ocean water. Cool , huh?
They also have horse shoe areas, tennis courts and at least two baseball Fields by my count.
One thing is that it needs updating from it's grody government park bathrooms to its deteriorating girl scout fire pit, ripped up picnic benches with big gouges in them to the parking lot line but it looks like that some more up keep is on the was from the work they did on the beach part of the park. It has a nice view of the sound including the Olympic mountain range, vashon island and Blake island.
leaned to roller blade here and played int he kiddy pool after I learned to walk.
It' a great park.
Lincoln Park....
The finest park in Seattle...
All the other "parks" in Seattle should be auctioned off and turned into condos.... losers... why even try

This is a gorgeous park in West Seattle. I like taking out-of-town guests here when we want to wind down. It's got everything you'd want to see on a walk, some groomed areas, some wild, open spaces for the dogs to run (not off-leash, though, bummer), and a bluff overlooking Puget Sound with the Olympics in the distance. Lots of different paths to wander, including one that skirts the bluff, and another on the water - take one of the steep paths that lead down to the water for some scenic adventure. Every once in awhile you catch sight of eagles that are nesting there. It feels far from the city sometimes.
I love Lincoln Park! It has parking! It has trails! It has ball fields! It has tennis courts! It has children play areas! It has a heated outdoor, salt water pool! It has picnic areas! It has amazing views of the sound! It has just about anything you could want in a park!
I love coming here and walking through the trees when it's sprinkling out, everything is so fresh and clean and smells like nature. I love coming here on a sunny day and walking through the shade of the trees to cool off. I love coming here in the fall after the leaves change the colors are amazing. I love coming here to walk along the water and enjoy the wonderfulness that is Lincoln Park. I love coming here to watch Shakespeare in the Park, but only the afternoon show not the evening one or else I get eaten alive by the bugs. I love coming to watch friends play baseball/softball at the fields! I love coming here for picnics with friends and enjoying the good times that are had. There are so many reasons to love Lincoln Park but these are some of mine what are yours?

Domesticated squirrels that eat from your hand.
Random exercise equipment along the walking trails.
A paved path to run along the sound and a dirt path along the top of the ridge.
Lots of smaller paths, covered in vegetation to explore.
Watch kids play ball, or just enjoy all the dogs running around happy to make a new friend.
I really miss living two blocks away from this park.

A daily retreat after work during the spring and summer months and at least once a week during the colder months.
Miles of trails to wander on, minor hiking (for us not so in shape folks), beach walks, a swimming pool down on the lower north side, a wading pool in the upper north side, coupled with jungle gyms, swings, baseball AND tennis courts, not to mention the extremely friendly squirrels who are all too happy to chase you down for that little bag of cheez-its.. be warned - I had one climbing up my leg to get at some stinkin chow mein - I think I'm traumatized for life now.
You can reserve the shelters and numbered tables for picnics - any unnumbered table is first come first served.

This park is lovely. The beach path can get a little cramped on a sunny day, but the wooded area always seems quiet and peaceful. Lots of paths for walking/riding bikes, nice views.

This park really has it all... trails, softball fields, play areas, picnic sites, tennis courts, paved jogging/biking path with a TDF view, even a heated saltwater pool (!)... what it doesn't have is an off-leash area for dogs, which I would really love to see. Ollie loves going on walks at Lincoln Park but she would love it even more if she could romp around (legally) unleashed.

This is one of the few Seattle parks that has plenty of parking!!! Combine the parking lot with the additional street parking and you have a winner! Even during the warm summer months here in the Pacific Northwest there is plenty of room for everyone. I find something new to enjoy each and every time we come to this park.
From beach walks to a paved walk loop around the park this is one of the fine crown jewels in West Seattle. The ballfields are clean and well kept and the playground equipment, while it's nothing too fancy, serves the kiddos well.
The best kept secret is being able to rent the covered picnic areas from the Park's Department. For a nominal fee you can reserve the area and host your family gatherings here!
Gather up the kids, pack a lunch and get out and enjoy the rays!

What does Lincoln Park NOT have? It's one of the best parks in Seattle. I bring the kids for swimming in the summer, picnics, playing, softball, playing on the playground equipment, beach walks...etc. It's the best!
Lincoln Park has 2 playground areas. The south playground is nice and has a great swing for the kids to swing down a hill. I get a little nervous at the south playground with the little kids because the playground equipment is a little higher off the ground. The north playground is better for the smaller kids because the playground equipment is a little lower to the ground and you don't have to worry about your kids falling.

As an ex-competitive swimmer, I remember coming here for swim meets (at Colman pool) when i was younger. Salt water is supposed to make you swim faster. As an adult I can appreciate the beautiful surroundings. This is a 50m pool (it is twice as big as normal sized pools) so even though it is popular there is enough room for everyone. If you come during lap swim you have to be prepared for the longer laps if your endurance isn't quite that great.
As far as the park, it is simply beautiful. You can overlook the entire sound and choose to be in solitude or around others as the park is very big. Additionally, the park really isn't that far from the city. There is a kiddie pool, the big pool, beach, a paved area for bikers/rollerbladers/runners, picnic areas with benches, tons of trails, lookouts, a baseball diamond and who knows whatelse!

Huge park with lots to do and lots of places to lose yourself. Miles of trails, stunning water views, beach walks including a paved walk, and of course, Colman Pool, which is I think the only heated saltwater pool in Seattle. Only open in the summer. My mother used to swim in this pool when she was a little girl and a couple generations later it's still popular. Parking can fill up on a sunny summer weekend, but go early and spend the day.
This is an excellent park to hang out and relax in. The beach is really long and spacious. It is a rocky beach which usually provides a great opportunity to find sea critters under rocks. The water here is usually really clear as well providing a surface peek into the water. There are many trails that go all over the park as well and are just as fun to wander through.
Lincoln Park is a great place to wander around and just enjoy the W Seattle vibe. Keep in mind they've tried to secede several times. Colman pool is one of the only saltwater pools your going to find anywhere much less in the metro area (at least as far as I know).
Get here on an early morning for parking. There are picnic stations for families to rent out. There is a great stretching path that goes along the beach. A great place to pick a spot and fish or fly a kite. Right by the ferry, you can hop to Vashon. It is beautiful.
i did ALOT of things in this park ...grew up near there
