Several years ago, I lived in Studio City for the summer. There I discovered L'imagerie, which is one of the best poster stores in the country. You'd think that in Southern California there would be several movie memorabilia stores down here. If you walk around Hollywood, you'll find several, but they're filled with kitsch and don't bother selling original posters, just reprints of Scarface and stuff for dorm rooms.
L'imagerie is the real deal. Only Posteritati in New York has the kind of selection they do. You want an original poster from a Hitchcock film or a Bond flick? Come here and bring your checkbook. Original movie posters are expensive. Plus, L'imagerie has a lot of original rock and concert posters, and stuff by Coop. They also have a selection of Czech posters which are fascinating and not easy to find in the States. You can also get custom archival framing there, though that's also pricey.
If you're looking to start what will be an expensive hobby, look no further.

If you are looking for AUTHENTIC original works by Mark Ryden, Coop, Audrey Kwakasi, and more by high end big time low brow artists that are also approved by Mr. Ryden and the other artists themselves as originals look no further than L'Imagerie gallery. As a very picky art collector I only look for the best places to fill my collection and Debi and her staff knows theIr stuff and treats her/their clientele with respect and professionalism.
Also as a artist i am picky as to the quality of how my pieces are framed and handled, I have no problem leaving them in Debi's care because i know they will be handled well and will be framed beautifully! The framing is pricy but well worth every penny! as they say you get what you pay for, that saying goes well here.
If you are looking for some amazing vintage poster art, tour posters, pop culture art or anything that just reeks of cool, then this is your place. I've been to plenty a gallery/store with great stuff, but I've been coming here for a good 12 years now and they never cease to amaze me at the cool stuff they carry. They also do custom framing here which is always nice! :)

History
Established in 1973
L'Imagerie Gallery originated as a fine art gallery, specializing in collectable posters from the La Belle Epoque movement that included poster artists such as Toulouse Lautrec, Alphonse Mucha and Jules Cheret. Phyllis Jacobson, the founder of L'Imagerie Gallery assisted in building the Los Angeles County Art Museum's collection of Art Nouveau and Art Deco posters. In 1979, her daughter, Debi Jacobson, joined the staff permanently and developed her own fields of expertise in the art market and has continued to do so for almost 30 years. Debi specializes in rock poster art from the 1960's and at one time represented San Francisco psychedelic poster artist, Rick Griffin, who is now deceased. In addition to her vast collection of rock concert posters, Jacobson sells a large variety of original movie posters from around the world. The gallery collection includes one of a kind oil paintings and prints by artists such as Robert Williams, Mark Ryden, Todd Schorr, Shag and many others.
