I purchased a really high value modular table.

You definitely pay for the quality and value.

The salespeople are fine and the experience was OK but nothing out-of-this-world.

I think one has to be in love with a piece of furniture at this place to pay the fees they want.  Not some casual Ikea experience.

Although they are extremely pricey, I'm a huge fan of Ligne Roset's collection.  So much so that I jumped at the chance to obtain a slightly used, but in great condition, Extensia Table about a year ago.

My beautiful table has spent the last year looking lonely, since I haven't found the right chairs to go with it.  Having a day off, I decided to trek over to the Ligne Roset store, wearing my normal day off clothes of jeans, gym shoes and a sweater. I had two goals in mind:  To match chairs they had in stock to the display table to see how things worked together and to obtain a wood sample so I could keep shopping at other stores if I didn't find something there to suit my tastes.

First of all, two salespeople ganged up on me and argued with me that the didn't make the kind of table I was describing, even though I pointed at the display and said, "this is my table."  I wasn't sure why they put up such a fuss about the topic.  I felt like I was being accused of being some sort of table counterfeiter.  I am not, by the way - or if I am, I really pay attention to details.  The table I own has the Ligne Roset name etched into the glass, just like the display did.

Finally, when one of the salespeople, Corey, did decide to show me chairs that would look good with Extensia, he did so in a hurried manner, like he was trying to get rid of me so he could get back to his empty store.  I will admit that he was helpful in circling chairs in the catalog that I liked so that I could keep them in mind.   That kindness, though, was negated when he finished off by telling me that he hadn't shown me a couple of other chairs because they were about two thousand dollars a chair, then he looked at me like he wanted me to leave.  I'm sorry, isn't up to me to decide if I can afford a two thousand dollar chair or not?

All in all, a dreadful experience.  If I do decide to go with any of their chairs, I'm going to try to order when I'm out of town so I don't have to deal with the Chicago staff again.
