This small shop is tucked into the shopping center at County Club and Lake Mary Blvd. Don't let the size of the shop fool you, there is a lot offered! It's neat as a pin, no "fishy" smell whatsoever. None. Offering fresh seafood ranging from fresh grouper, halibut, Scottish salmon (yes, fresh) to shellfish, dips, soups and made in house key lime pies. There are also some frozen offerings. Friends regularly order fresh oysters from here by the bushel and they are spectacular- fresh, sweet and still tasting of briny ocean water.

I popped in here for some fresh seafood to get us through weekend meals, called ahead and learned that divers were headed in with both items I was looking for- little neck clams and grouper. I was told both would be in the shop in a few hours.

When I arrived, the place was packed. The owner was cutting up the newly arrived fresh grouper in the back, so he cut my fish to order. The little neck clams were a great price and so fresh and clean, that a quick rinse off was all the cleaning they needed before they were cooked. The owner threw in a couple extra in case some didn't open, which was very nice. (And not needed, since all but one clam opened.)

I cooked up some linguine with white clam sauce with the little necks, they were sweet, tender and not at all chewy. Very fresh and the star of our tasty dinner. We broiled the grouper the next day and it was some of the best tasting grouper we've ever had- outside of our fisherman friends who gifted us with some out of their catch.  The grouper was firm, moist and fresh, (not fishy tasting) just perfect. It's worth the drive to head up to lighthouse.

Across the street from the farmer's market is Lighthouse Seafood. Its a great place to pick up fresh Florida caught shrimp and very nice seafood that is shipped in and sold fresh. Pricing was very comparable to the seafood departments at Publix - but I like knowing it didn't come from a huge processing plant somewhere in Hoboken, NJ. To find the place, head to Pinch A Penny (where it seems like everyone in Lake Mary shops) and go through the plaza until you find it. Its near the dance studio. I noticed that the butcher shop next door has closed, but hopefully some good business will keep this place going. Buy local!

This is a great little seafood market.  After moving to the other side of town away from Lombardi's, I was a bit worried about where I'd buy some good fresh seafood.  I found my place.  It is family owned and the people are very friendly.  Everything that I've ever purchased there has been excellent, especially the fish dip!  I recently bought some conch there.  The price was very reasonable and it was of excellent sushi grade quality.
