This place makes me feel at ease, no big restaurant feel, just good people and good food. Their omelets in the morning are very generous and delicious, try to finish one I dare you. At lunch I recommend a BLT or a burger. Dinner is always good, start off with the prawns or calamari and work your way to a salmon Caesar salad or a nice pasta dish!! The owners are so nice, it's nice to find a family ran place in Marin county.
Sunday mornings at the Lighthouse Dinner are definitley something to look forward to.
The menu is delicious. Breakfast is served all day. I personally prefer the Cobb Salad and the Grilled Salmon Sandwich. Both healthy selections prepared well. Also they have a great menu for kids and make a pancake shaped like Mickey Mouse that is really fun and it decorated with fruits- very unique. All the fruits and veggies are fresh. I haven't tried any of the danish dishes but may do so in the future.
Carlos is the best waiter there. He is always very friendly recognizes me when I go in.
Definitely deserves a 5 star rating cause the food is yummy, the prices are fair, the location is nice, and parking is no problem.
Thanks to Yelp reviews we had dinner here tonight before seeing the Capitol Steps as part of the Marin Speakers Series. We shared a calamari appetizer which compared well to the calamari we consumed in Monterey last week. It was perfectly cooked and came w/ two dipping sauces. We also ordered gravlax, which was melt-in-your-mouth yummy but too much and had to be taken home. I ordered a peppercorn steak w/ a twist, which meant it was flamed at the table. It came rare, as ordered, and was lovely. W/ the steak I had the choice of soup or salad and two "side effects". I chose the salad, which was excellent, w/ tasty tomatoes, chopped red and green bell peppers, mushrooms, candied pecans and a nicely balanced house dressing. I can't remember what all the side effects were. I ordered grilled asparagus and spinach cooked w/ onions. The asparagus was done a bit more than we usually do it but was delicious nonetheless. The spinach was sublime. Alan ordered the pork chop w/ apples and onions. He had the salad, the spinach and twice baked potatoes. He was less happy w/ his meal. He found the pork hard to taste through the gravy and the twice baked potatoes were too heavy on the cheese and too light on the potatoes. Our sister-in-law's are better. He liked the rest of what he had, though, and we're eager to return to try different dishes. Service was warm and friendly. Because we were there on the early side there were families w/ small children and it was fun watching the staff (the owners' son was our server) playing and joking w/ the kids.

Very friendly and homely. The bar is kind of like a scene out of "Cheers" where everybody seems to know your name.
Food was excellent, had the beef Wellington a little pricey but worth it when it comes to size. Danish owners that were genuinely friendly while they had a drink with you. Cheers!
It's been a sort of a tradition with some friends at times to hang on the patio here during the farmer's market on Thursday evenings in the summer. They have a full bar, some tasty crinkly french fries, and you have a nice view of the band. Of course it's band roulette, but that's part of the fun, really. It could be anything from a cool alternative country act to an aging, threadbare, and marginally talented dive bar rock band, to a Lillith Fair, chick rock , Alice Music kind of deal. Anyway, the food is pretty good and it's fun to watch the toddlers get down. I haven't really been other than those Thursday nights, but I'm sure it's still a good place to eat, maybe minus the dancing toddlers.

I have been a devotee of Fred's my entire life and never thought of venturing into the Lighthouse. Now that I work across the street I decided to give it a try and boy have I been missing out. I had their Danish Chicken sando. Grilled Chicken, Ham, Bacon, Danish Pickles Lettuce and Tomato. Delish.
The service left a little something to be desired, but I will not fault them for that. It is a diner after all.
Meat and potatoes are my kind of meals!
I opted for the Danish Meatballs (Frikadeller) & Red Cabbage (with homemade warm pickled cucumbers, gravy, and potatoes). The meatballs were a little different than the Ikea meatballs (not that they're from the same country), but pretty much tasted similar and they were super yummy. The side dishes of pickled cucumbers, pickled red cabbage, and potatoes were PLENTY (basically another whole dish!). I could barely finish the 3 gigantic meatballs, so I took them to-go and clumsily dropped them on the floor shortly thereafter! Hee hee.
My companion had the Danish Style Ground Sirloin Steak (Hakkebof) (with sauteed onions, beets, pickled cucumbers, gravy, and potatoes). I've never had pickled beets before, only boiled beets, but I didn't like them as much as boiled beets.
I have also been here for breakfast!! The Ultimate breakfast and Danish meatballs and eggs were super delicious. I love that their assortment of fruit they offer is *really* assorted, like: strawberries, kiwis, oranges, apples, cantaloupes, and grapes.
I think the owners are misunderstood, they were not "cold, rude, and unpleasant" to me at all. I can see why someone would think so, but you have to understand their culture before you make a judgement like that.

I came in here once when I first moved into town.
The owner and his wife were so incredibly cold, rude and unpleasant I was totally bummed out I didn't even stay to eat.
And I've never been back.
Maybe the food is palatable but I'll never know!
