I love this place. The owner is very friendly and knowledgeable and really cares about your overall health, not just getting HUGE or getting SKINNY like some of the health food supplement places I have been to. I totally recommend it. The prices are definitely lower than GNC as well. I've heard the juice bar is great but I haven't tried it yet.

I have been coming here for years, they are good people who genuinely care about their customers. They always ask me how I'm doing, what's new with my life and treat you like an old Friend. They are very knowledgeable about their products and will try to help you find what you are looking for instead of pushing a product you don't need. They are family owned not corporate and I like that too.
I like the great selection of products and the price's are way cheaper than GNC or Vitamin world. They also have a juicer in the back and they will make you fresh vegetable/ wheat grass juice that's way better than the crappy Jamba juice around the corner, yuck! with all that sugar.
The service and selection are both excellent. The prices are very reasonable, about 10-20% LESS than what you would pay at Whole Foods. There is even a little raw food section, with cacao nibs and goji berries, etc. A definite find!

I've been visiting these folks for years to get my herbal teas, vitamins, and sandlewood soap, among other things. They have some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. They order anything immediately if they're out of something you want, and they are always incredibly helpful if you have any questions, they also have incredibly good prices when compared to places like GNC or Whole Foods.
Do you get annoyed at the GNC brigade that tries to get you to sign up for "gold card membership" every single time you stop in? I don't need a gold card...I just want some healthy doses for my body.
Enter: Life Spring...they have absolutely anything one could desire in terms of health products. Vitamins, supplements, homeopathic medicine, fat burners, bars, shakes, even a refrigerated section and a real juice bar.
The selection is extensive, well displayed and the location is extremely convenient (though, no parking). The owner works the counter and knows his health supplies...ask him.
They've been open since 1977...trust 'em, they know what they are doing. And no damn gold cards, for goodness sake! Next time you have an urge to run to GNC...check here first, it'll be cheaper and you'll be supprting local biz! :)

I like the way it smells in here...I buy my Vegan Donuts and Homeopathic eyedrops when I make a visit to Clark & Belmont. After all the yelling at clothing store employees and shopping at the Alley for um...marital aids, I go here to detox. One of my fave Healthy pit stops. I think they have food (in the freezer or snack stuff) here too and some books. Not a Whole Foods but cute.

Oh, Kombucha Tea, how I love you. You claim to make me healthy and taste so yummy, too. But you're so expensive, you know. How can a cheap girl like me ever afford you?! Luckily there is Life Spring, where you're at least 50 cents cheaper than most places. Cheapest in the city - WHOOOO!!!!
I only go there for the tea, but the store has lots of other healthy stuff like vitamins, minerals, and healthy food that you'd never find at Whole Foods. I was temped to buy the faux chicken in a can. Partly for the novelty - food in a can cracks me up. But it could taste good. Maybe.
And staff is super nice without being overimposing, unlike a few vitamin shops I refuse to name here.

This is what's so great about Lakeview -- it's full of independent businesses like this that have real longevity and roots in the community, rather than prospectors that open something trendy in Wicker Park, make their money and run. In this case, Life Spring has been here since 1977. Anything related to vitamins, herbal tinctures, protein powders, healthy snacks, they'll have usually at the best prices in the city. Having been in the business nearly 30 years, the owner and staff know their stuff, and every time I go in I hear customers asking for advice. If you're not into, uh, health, at the very least check out one basic recommendation -- Nature's Plus Source of Life multi-vitamin & mineral supplement with whole food concentrates. Good stuff!
