Wedding Ceremony:

Filmed a wedding under one of the droopy trees here.  Nice, quaint park with a view of the majestic El Segundo High School which has been featured in many TV shows and movies.

A large path loops around the center of the park and the bride chose to walk the long way.  It was a gorgeous sight to see.  Hey, your getting married so why not milk the entrance a bit, right?  All eyes were focused on the bride for that extended walk.

Easy to maneuver with tons of space available.  No one around the park except the bridal party and their guests on a late Saturday afternoon.  Weather was comfortable this day in mid July.

The park(and the surrounding area) had such a welcoming feel.  A local party supply company the couple hired, provided chairs for about 50 guests and a nice archway was made by the family.

Pretty simple and easy on the pocketbook, yet pleasant nonetheless.  The park made for a very nice venue to hold a beautiful ceremony.

No surprise that it's next to the library.  And what a fine library it is, offering beautiful views of the park.
Library Park appears to be the official town center of El Segundo a.k.a. Mayberry, as it's across the street from the high school.  And the HS itself is a magnificent old brick building.  This is a town full of treasures.

So.  When was the last time you saw a park with a band stand?  How very cool.  It's Library Park's crowning glory, as there are no sports facilities.......just beautiful areas designed to be eye candy.  Like the rose garden.  The entire park, including the library building, covers only one square block, but what a lovely space it is.
The sports fields, basketball courts, and playground are behind the school just west of Library Park (see photo), allowing the central park to remain pristine.

So, in this town square with old shade trees and a band stand are benches with dedication/memorial plaques.  As I review more and more parks, I find myself pausing to read the words.  And I have discovered that beautiful sentiments are found in parks.
Such as the one on the bench in Library Park that reads "Meet me in the garden, Gardener Bob".
Who knew that reviewing parks would become a spiritual journey?  I thought I was just out seeking exercise.  I found much, much more.
And I have only just begun.

I include about 20 photos.
