How COOL is it that we live in a place with such an innovative library system that they would put a library in the MALL? There are few times when I am really happy to pay taxes - but this library makes me thrilled to hand over my 8.9%.
At first I thought it was a little weird to put a library in the mall - shouldn't libraries be... sacred, quiet, and revered?
But here is the thing. The library in the mall is overwhelmingly convenient. The staff go out of their way to ensure that they have books from a zillion different languages. It makes it so that not just middle-class white people use the library - cool, huh?
They make it very easy for EVERYONE to use the library. Lots of people in South King County don't have cars and rely on public transportation - they put a library at a major transportation hub!!!
Anyway - the overall selection at this particular branch isn't huge, but they'll ship anything you want to the branch. The computers are almost always filled as is the cute children's area. Its so great to see the space being used in such a diverse and innovative way. -

wow! we happened upon this book oasis....and they allowed you to explore, read and explore more...FOR FREE...methinks this may catch on!
