It's really getting only 4 stars because 1) it's across the street from my favorite close-to-me sushi restaurant, and I always prefer raw fish and 2) it has no waiting area.  Since my husband and daughter always prefer pasta this is our compromise restaurant.  It's good food, good service, and a nice variety.  I'm, always impressed the staff remembers the specials and doesn't have to thumb through notes to tell us.

As a sushi lover, I always gravitate to the Tuni Ahi and/or Tuna Ahi salad.  Please note, this is NOT a substitute for sushi.  I get that thinking it is, but it isn't.  The Ahi they use is pale, almost flavorless grade that's membraney.  I'd love it if they'd use a bluefin instead...but it is what it is.  The salad is is great and light.  My husband hasn't had any complaint about the numerous pasta dishes he's tried, so my gut it they're consistently good.  The drinks are good as well - I've tried most on the menu.

I don't like the fact that there's little seating for waiting.  So if you're unlucky enough to be seated in the booth to the left as you walk in, not only do you have to deal with moments of rushing air from the outside, but you have to deal with people's butts in your face and children who are waiting on tables, running up to your table (my child did this, to my horror).  Just seems that the area for that booth could have been made into additional seating for waiting guests.

    Otherwise, always a good experience.

Oh, and the take out pizza if great.  I bought a pizza stone just to bake them at home.

Sadly, bland and tasteless are the first adjectives that come to mind in describing Liberatore's Ristorante. A handful of friends and I had take-out from here recently and, in all honesty, I would have been much happier boiling up some noodles, opening a jar of Prego's sauce, and grating some cheese on the dish myself.

One of the appetizers, the crab bruschetta, was largely inedible, featuring anemic, pale pink tomatoes, what must have been a few pinches of imitation crab meat, and soggy bread. The other app, rustichella (tomatoes, olives, mozzarella chopped on top of bread bruschetta-style),  was relatively more successful but certainly far from award-winning.

For mains, before being even slightly full, I was unimpressed with my eggplant parmigiana (breaded eggplant, mediocre sauce) so I sampled around. My dish but paired with veal made me realize that the poor creature got breaded and died in vain despite the 'timeless classic' advertisement declared in the menu. The rigatoni vodka was practically sauceless and of indistinct flavor, making me feel fortunate with the otherwise unappetizing eggplant dish I had. Sigh...why didn't we just order from Papa Johns or bake a DiGiorno?

Wow! Fridays are busy at Liberatore's. Thank goodness we were ushered into a private party room and didn't have to wait for a table. This place was packed.

We were here for a rehearsal dinner with about 20 people. The servers were pretty good about getting our drink orders. At times, we would have to flag them down for a drink. We started off with appetizers of fried calamari, fried cheese ravioli, tomato bruschetta and caesar salad. The fried cheese ravioli was fantastic - crispy and cheesy. Our dinner of shrimp scampi on risotto, chicken with mushrooms, penne pasta with cream sauce and Italian sausage with peppers. I'll definitely return for the shrimp scampi on risotto - the shrimp were perfectly cooked and plump and the risotto was the right consistency! That is a major feat for a buffet of food.

No meal is complete unless you have dessert. They served an array of mini cannoli and chocolate cake. The mini cannoli were my favorite!

All in all a great, filling meal. I would give it a 3.5.

    Yum!

I was craving pasta but was also feeling lazy so I called in an order to go (to bring back to my hotel room - as I was in Baltimore on business). My friend and I decided to share the orecchiette pasta with sausage, spinach, and mushrooms with a Liberatore salad. The pasta was a bit greasy (pools of olive oil were at the bottom of the container) and a lot of the pasta pieces (shaped like little ears, hence their name) were stuck together, as if no one had bothered to stir the pot while they cooked. The spinach was scarce but there was plenty of sausage and the dish as a whole was relatively flavorful. The salad was garnished with plenty of parmesan cheese and I really enjoyed the pickled pepperoncini pepper and the balsamic vinegar dressing.

Overall, it was a good meal. It was a bit pricey, but the portions were generous (after all, the two of us shared 1 dish and 1 salad). The waitress that helped us also offered us some bread (which turned out to be really dry) and provided utensils and napkins.

If I get a chance, I'd like to try dining in and see if the food is prepared better.

When we got there for lunch, there were only a couple other tables filled. To start off our meal, we were brought bread. It was stale, but whatever, it was free. We made our order. A classic pizza, a Cristina pizza, an cup of hamburger and vegetable soup, and parmesan fries. We were warned that the parmesan fries were just plain fries, but we said that was fine.

The soup was brought out right away, although it was spooned straight from the buffet table. It was the best part of the meal, no complaints. The pizzas and fries were brought out soon after. The fries tasted and looked like McDonald's fries dumped onto a plate, minus the salt - and they cost 4 dollars. We were warned that they didn't have parmesan, but not that they were bad.

The worst part of it all was the pizza though. It looked awesome coming out and we were excited. However, both pizzas were soggy. It was the worst pizza I have ever had. The crust was big and chewy, and the middle thin and slimy. It hadn't been baked long enough and it had been stretched too much. I ate a small slice and pushed the rest aside.

For what it's worth, the service was excellent, but I don't plan on ever going back.

Capellini margarita was good, the bread was fair, olive oil was bland.  Tasted like Fast Food.  Need to step it up a bit, too many Italian choices to settle for average.

Oh goodness...AMAZING restaurant!  Drinks are delicious, and so are the meals!  And don't worry about the price, it's totally worth every penny.  You basically get two meals (but then again I have a small stomach)

Liberatore's IS excellent.  This is one of a string of family-owned locations in the Baltimore metro area.  Somehow, they manage to pull off an incredible and familial atmosphere in the middle of a strip mall.  We take all our visitors here and even ate here on our wedding day!

They have a great selection of Italian fare.  My husband loves the sausage and peppers, or occasionally a steak with mashed potatoes.  I'm a big fan of the gnocchi and house salads.  My friends have raved about the crab ravioli. Their house specials are always a wide variety of things from rockfish and salmon to steak and pasta.

Wine selection good; beer not so great.  Everything is fantastic and service is friendly.  You'll almost always see one of the owners or managers on the premises.

First time I went here 3 years ago our party had some issues with management and were treated poorly. We rated them online and received a call everyday after that begging us to take it down.

It must have worked because it has been flawless since. They don't remember us for sure, and we probably just caught them on a bad night, but this place has some of the best Italian East of Little Italy downtown.

The bar is small but well equipped. Parking isn't the best so get there early.

Tasty Italian food with a casual, yet elegant vibe.

This Liberatores location is the closest to my house and I've been there a few times. (I've recently visited the original Liberatores in Timonium and the ambiance is very different.)

I have to say this is my preferred Italian restaurant in terms of local restaurants. I usually get the Chicken Marsala and it is the best I've had; the Marsala wine is delicately used with the perfect amount of thickness for the sauce.

I've also tried the Chicken Giovanni, which was very flavorful and offered plenty of spinach. If you are a spinach-fan, then this dish is a must. I liked it but I wasn't too fond of it and it is purely personal preference.

Liberatore also has a decent wine list and prices begin around $20.

For the dessert-lovers: try the Tiramisu, the espreeso aroma is intense in your mouth. Also, I recommend the Creme Brulee. You may share dessert with your dinner (or lunch) companions since the portions are huge - but then again, why would you want to do that?

Liberatore offers flavorful and delicious Italian fare and it's a local Baltimore restaurant (despite its seven other locations). So, this is the place to take your parents (or any out-of-town visitors) for a casual, yet fine dining experience (and it won't be crowded with tourists.) Also, you are very likely to have a take-out bag because the portions are very generous.

Came to White Marsh on business and decided to try this place out based on Yelp reviews. The location is only good for those actually staying in White Marsh, however if you are closer to the city of Baltimore, eat around there.

There is a large dining area that looks quite fancy and a separated section that is a bar and lounge. Although the dining area is nice, I came alone and decided to sit in the bar and lounge area where at least some music and TVs were playing. Recommended order: Veal Liberatore. The veal was in a very tasty sauce, that eventually felt heavy towards the end. The veal itself was average, but the crab pieces were taste. Ordered a beer off tap and a grilled chicken salad to go. Total, around $40 without tip.

Service at the bar is very friendly. The wait staff are willing to converse and tell you about the city and what to order. Overall, a nice place, and would recommend only to those who are already in the area and who aren't on a budget.

My one experience at Liberatore's was very good.  It didn't feel like a restaurant with multiple locations at all.  The food was great, the atmosphere was great and it was very friendly.  I would love to go back and try it again!

This is my favorite restaurant.  The food is awesome. The service was outstanding.  I absolutely love the manager.  He is so welcoming and speaks everytime we come to the restaurant.  You can't beat the happy hour food and drink specials.  They have the best happy hour compared to other local restaurants.  They actually cooked me a meal that was not on the menu and helped me prepare for a surprise birthday dinner for my husband.  This place is awesome.  If you want to watch the game or have a romantic dinner this place can suit your needs.

Our second visit. First, a year ago, was quite unimpressive. Yesterday was just plain awful. This is not a pretty restaurant. The concrete floors give it the feel of eating in a warehouse and if you get stuck in the back room (also used for private parties) there is no decor at all, just plain ugly walls.

Six of us gathered for dinner. 3 ordered an entree called Chicken Dante. A version of chicken marsala, it is made with marsala wine, onions, mushrooms, bacon and boneless chicken breasts. It was cloyingly sweet. One lady tasted it and sent it back. The other two ate it but agreed it was pretty awful. The sauce was bad and the chicken overcooked, dry and tough.

Two other chicken dishes got barely passable marks and the eggplant parm was ok.  A cold, ugly atmosphere, inattentive service and food ranked from mediocre to terrible. Not going back.

Wonderful Italian restaurant.  Every night they have a delicious special.  I especially like the lobster mac 'n cheese and shrimp scampi pizza.  They also have an extensive variety of wines and martinis (favorites include the key lime and pomegranate martinis).  The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, very beautiful.

Think Martini Bar...if you like cocktails, you will enjoy this place.  They occasionally have local artists play music, which is always a plus.  The seared tuna appetizer here is absolutely delicious.  This is the perfect place if you wanna get out of the house on a Friday night but don't want to be out all night long.  Cute for a date with your guy or your best girlfriends.

Delicious food!  Highly recommend the buffalo calamari, the black n bleu chicken rigatoni, the eggplant parm.  The house salad is delicious - the dressing is a very tasty garlicy concoction.  Very reasonably priced, family friendly.  The desserts are wonderful.  The staff is very friendly and one chatty waitress in particular remembers our names everytime we come in the resturant.  Surprisingly the carryout is equally as enjoyable.  They pack it with freshness in mind - we highly recommend this place!
