I LOVE Lexi Dog.  Everyone who works there is always super nice, and they do a great job of cleaning the place.  The area where the dogs play in is nice as well.  Both of my pups (English Bulldog and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) love coming here to play.  It doesn't smell, either.

I would recommend Lexi Dog to anyone who loves to spoil their dog!  :)

We have cats and I called lexidog to inquire about petsitting since we had plans to go away for the weekend.  They said they offered said service and we hired one of the employees to come change the water, give them food and change the litter each day we'd be gone.

So we get home and the water bowl is dry.  I filled the water bowl and immediately one cat drinks from it and i turn on the faucet and the other laps from the running water.  They both drink for 15 minutes!!!!!!

They were parched!

Their food was very low and the litter box had not been changed.  I verified this because there were two bags to be used  (one for each day we were gone) and one bag was still in the drawer.

The girl had come the first day, but apparently not the second day, but she grabbed her money which we left for her.

I was insanely upset!  This was inexcusable.

Finding someone you trust to take care of your pets while out of town is hard enough, but when they dont do it, and the pets are put in danger, its heartbreaking.

i would never recommend this place for anything.  They get no business of mine after this.

I heard through a friend that LexiDog in the Pearl opens up their doors on Sunday afternoons for Play Group.  They even have it broken down by weight/time.

10 am to Noon- Smallest dogs 12lbs and under
Noon to 1:30pm- Small dogs 30lbs and under
1:30 to 2:30pm- any size dog can come and play

All they ask is for a $2 donation per family, and even then, it's only a little box on the counter, totally up to you.

The facilities were clean when we got there, but there were  a lot of dogs marking it up inside.  They do leave some antibacterial spray and poo bags hanging around, and also a mop to clean up your own dogs spills.  Everyone was being really good about the cleaning part, I was happily surprised :)

This will definitely be a new Sunday tradition. They also have a bunch of apparel, dog bowls, treats, food, and accessories for sale.

Social club, store spoils your pup

Being a dog owner who loves her pups like her babies, I spoil them with lots of cuddles and special treats. I've never gotten into dressing them up with sweaters and coats but for those of you who do, check out Lexi Dog Boutique and Social Club.

This shop has everything to pamper your pet such as jeweled collars, comfy beds, feeders and homemade treats that looked good enough to eat. They cater to dogs of all sizes and breeds, so there's sure to be something fun for your pet.

I was curious what the social club was about, and it's a doggie daycare of sorts. You can drop off your pet for $25 a day or half day for $16. They offer monthly packages with varied days to choose from too. There are also playgroup times on the weekends where you and your dog can play with others in a dry and warm environment.

Tip: I really liked the raincoats and would consider buying some for my pups since it tends to rain just a bit in Portland.

I used to take my dog here every week since it was so convenient to where i lived.  But, couple things i didn't like:
1. The smell -- i understand that it has a lot of dogs in there, but they need to invest in better ventilation and maybe more effective deodorizers.
2. the black mats, on one wet day, my white dog had black stains on him, and the workers said it was due to the flooring.  THey didn't even bother wiping it off him.  Not sure exactly why the black mats were bleeding color on him though? Not clear on how often the black flooring is replaced.
3. Overnight boarding costs are so expensive.  Boarding is only in the Macadam location, i thought it was rather overpriced.  I have seen some dog daycamps offer boarding for about $10 more than their daily full time cost.  To board your dog there, they charge the daily rate and an overnight rate, which totals to about $55/night!  It was a overpriced for what was offered.

Great things:
1. Location is awesome.
2. The staff is very friendly and seem to genuinely want to bond with my dog and the other dogs there.
3. THe sunday play groups are great.
4. THey do sponsor a lot of great events.

I like them and would recommend them to those who want convenience, but ask that they make some improvements.

I love these guys (girls, actually).
It is obvious they love their jobs and love the dogs they take care of.
It's great to drop off your dog and know he'she is in loving hands.
Only knock I have is my dog smells like urine at the end of the day sometimes.
But I highly recomeend LexiDog in the Pearl to anyone who wants their dog to play with other dogs or doesn't want their dog home alone all day while you're at work.
