Love Susy and her team. My kids have been going to Susy for years and she just totally gets it. Innovative curriculum, fun atmoshphere with music, games, puppets...
This is a really immersive and creative environment, and is a good jumping off point for parents who are interested in having their kids learn Spanish at an early age--and possibly continue with Spanish as they go to Kindergarten.
Susy has a Pre-K and fun summer camps in addition to her classes. The coolest thing, perhaps, is the Susy is a total artist. She has her very own music that she writes and produces, and you can purchase the CDs and books. I warn you--you can't get those songs out of your head.
Go Susy go. Oh, one more thing, Susy's whole team is very dedicated, and love servicing the client. Well done. There is a lot of hard work behind the magic. -

My 5 year old son and I love Let's Play in Spanish class! We do the mommy and me program together and we are both very happy with it. I feel fortunate to have Ms Susy as our instructor. She is an AMAZING educator. She is talented, funny, kind, gentle, creative, and very engaging with the children. Every week she teaches a new theme (it varies, and includes things like travel, Halloween, post office, etc). The language is reinforced through speaking, puppets, songs, and hands-on learning. The lessons move pretty quickly and there is plenty of moving around the room so he never gets bored or restless. He gets a lot of out of it and has a great time too ... he usually spends the entire class smiling and laughing. We look forward to it every week!

All educational programs could learn from Let's Play in Spanish. They teach by creating fun and interest through songs, puppet shows, group games and participation. Unlike other "classes", the lessons done in a colorful musical way that grabs the attention and keeps it. It can keep my 2 engaged and seated for an hour, that's pretty amazing!

Hands down the BEST Spanish Immersion Class for Children. And you adults that take your child there will enjoy it as well.
Susy Dorn is amazing. Her class is ever changing and extremely engaging. The class combines music, puppets, theater, stories and games.
My daughter has been going since she turned one and in the past 3.5 years has learned all the songs, words and simple language skill that Suzy teaches.
And amazingly this class never gets old.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this class and ensure you that you will not be disappointed.
Classes fill up quickly so you must decide when the classes are posted.
The Books, CD's and DVD are great too.
Look for classes in Palo Alto as well!

I believe Susy still offers a trial class for free. Check it out! -

I am actually somewhat surprised that there is only one review of Susy Dorn's class and that it is so dated. I am not sure that I can add much to Frances' review except to say that I whole-heartedly agree with it. Especially the "hands down BEST Spanish immersion class" part.
My 5 year old loves Susy's classes...and most importantly...my 5 year old is really learning Spanish.
And, the CDs and DVDs will amaze both those that take the class and those that don't -- those CDs and DVDs teach just as effectively. I suspect that fact is because the CDs and DVDs are just like the classes.
Two more relevant points. One is diction. Susy is incredibly clear in her pronunciation. This is invaluable for someone who is trying to learn a foreign language both by ear and by sight. Those of us older kids can actually "see" the words that Susy speaks. The second point is musicianship. Susy teaches mainly by song. And what stands out is that her music is compelling. Not only is it catchy for the kids, but even my musician wife is impressed by the quality of the compositions (Susy writes and sings her own songs) and the quality of the singing.
I am a bit mixed with giving this review -- Susy deserves a 5 star review, but it is hard enough getting into her classes. Maybe I could ask that you don't pass this review on. Wow, maybe THAT is why there aren't many reviews for Susy! Shoot. I guess that I blew it. -

Amazing - from the "Mommy and Me" classes, to the Learning Center preschool, the Summer Camps and the After School classes! Suzy has such positive energy and Maestra Betty, Lady and Gaby are just phenomenal; they all truly care about each and every child! Esthela is always so pleasant in the office, and most of all, my sons are learning Spanish, and having fun while at it, too!
P.S. The DVDs, books and CDs are really catchy and fun, too! My boys LOVE it all! -

I just started taking a class with my 2.5yo in Palo Alto with Teacher Ana. This is hands-down the best class I have EVER taken with my kids (music, gymnastics, etc.). It is very well done - from integrating music, story time, instruments, puppets, alphabet, numbers...I am impressed! Not only are they learning Spanish, but they are having a great exposure to music and the arts!

This is the best education program I have brought my daughter to. She and my husband love teacher Betty. We also bought the CD, DVD, and book and my daughter is addicted like the things are crack. She sings the Spanish songs constantly. Initially I just bought the DVD, but their stuff is actually much better when you have all three parts.
Anyway, highly, highly recommend. I can't believe how much she is learning and enjoying learning Spanish with this. -

What a fun way to learn a new language! we did a trial with Deborah (Debbie) and Loved i! I was amazed at how engaged my little one was. She found the puppet show really amusing too! She learned a lot of new words for her first time! She caught on pretty quickly! I am signing up and can't wait for next week! I highly recommend it!

I am so grateful to have been referred to Let's Play in Spanish!
My daughter and I love it and she surprises me all the time with how quickly she grasps on to all that she's learned in the current week and past weeks. What a treat every week to attend Suzy's class...we love it! My daughter and I have been attending for about 6 months and I'm amazed by her spanish vocabulary and yearning to listen to the cd's and dvd's (a must purchase if you attend the classes). Looking forward to more spanish fun with Suzy Dorn and her talented group. -

My children have been taking classes at the Campbell location for 4 years. Wow - have we learned a lot of Spanish! And in such a fun way! Susy Dorn, the creator, has created a program that involves music, movement, puppets and more! Susy and her staff are talented and gifted educators and entertainers!
I love that this program has advanced classes, Saturday classes, infant classes and a movement class.
My children have also enjoyed their summer camp for the past two yrs. It's a lot of fun with arts, crafts, outdoor play, etc. I also find that the summer staff is very friendly, caring and fun.
Check it out -- the gift of language is priceless! -

My daughter, at age 4, took 4 sessions in a row with Susie. She loves how animated Susie is. She is wonderful at puppet shows, guitar, singing, drawing, acting, you name it. Parents love her because she is so organized and she puts so much effort into each class. The class and her cd's motivated us to practice Spanish at home. You really get what you pay for!

My daughter is now 4 1/2 and is in the Learning Center one day a week. Her accent is awesome, and she understands a lot more than before. She still isn't speaking that much, but since we're only going once weekly, I wouldn't expect her speaking to increase that quickly. The teachers are warm and affectionate and really seem to love working with the kids. The program seems a little more academic than play-based, but I think my daughter has adjusted very well.

I started taking my son here last year when he just turned two. He loved the class and loved his spanish cd so much thats all he wanted to listen to. The way the teachers interact with the class and make every child feel so special with their encouragement is great. We were in Suzy's class and my son loved seeing her on tv (dvds) and in class. The teachers really make every class enjoyable and easy to learn and pick up the words even if you do not know Spanish. The creativity in the curriculum helps my son retain the information during that theme in the class. It is enjoyable even for the parents! Love Love Susy and the Office Administrator Esthela really worked with us in finding a class that had the right age group for my son since he was pretty young at the time. love the staff, love the curriculum, Spanish is fun! love the songs, stories, and colors!!!

Suzy really makes it fun for the kids to learn Spanish. My wife is a foreign language teacher by profession, and she got lots of great ideas from Suzy's class. The only negative thing I can say is a few native speakers take the class, presumably as a preschool for their kids, which is further evidence for the quality of the class. I can't say whether my kids were affected - for all I know, it was a good thing for them - but I found it a little intimidating. Anyway, this class is great, and we kept our kids in it until they started school.
