Leslie is a wonderful artist - she really made my bridesmaids and I look beautiful on my wedding day. She was very easy to work with, courteous, and efficient.
I had a picture of the hairstyle I wanted, and Leslie was able to easily recreate it. Not only that, the style stayed put and curls stayed in despite hours of dancing and lots of humidity.
Leslie used airbrush makeup which was awesome, and even applied lashes. I was at first concerned that I had too much makeup on and did not look "natural", but after seeing all my wedding pictures I am really happy with the result. I feel they are the best pictures I've ever had taken, and it's possibly the best I've ever looked. I wasalso impressed that the makeup stayed on throughout the evening.
I would recommend a trial run; I didn't get one myself, and was worried right before the wedding that I would look too made up. Leslie was willing to change the make-up, but luckily my bridal party reassured me it was perfect. I think doing the trial run would put any worries to ease. -

I highly recommend Leslie and her team. She personally did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and her team worked on my 3 bridesmaids and 2 sisters. They arrived on time on the day of my wedding. Leslie and her team were extremely nice.
I really recommend hair and make trial a few months before your wedding; I went and Leslie asked me good questions about what I wanted and then worked with me to achieve the look. I wanted a natural look but she consulted that I should have more pop and color for photographs. She was really nice about getting me to the right look. I think she was completely right because my photos came out amazing and I felt like a million bucks. She certainly didn't let me down with her expertise, professionalism, and kindness. She wasn't pushy at all and I didn't feel pressured to look a certain way - I had my concerns that I had "too much makeup" on and I told her this but she said just wear it for the entire day and see how I feel and take lots of trial pics; if I still didn't like it she'll tone it down on the day of. It turns out that I just wasn't used to that sort of makeup (wedding makeup) and I kept the trial look - it was the right decision! The hair style was right on the money - she did exactly what I wanted originally.
I would definitely recommend false eyelashes to make your eyes really pop and airbrush makeup. I was a little skeptical at first because it might look too artificial but it looked like a dream for pictures and really stayed on throughout the day - I did not look shiny at all and I do have combination skin that gets oily as the day progresses. Airbrush makeup is especially important if you're doing an outdoor wedding because, girl, you're going to sweat!

Bring a picture to your trial. Leslie will transform you into that person!
Even thought I was told to bring a picture to the trial, I went into my trial makeup/hair session with no picture and really no idea what I wanted to look like. If you don't bring a picture to your trial, Leslie has no idea what you normally look like (since you show up with no makeup/no hair) and she will not know what you WANT to look like. I thought I wanted to look natural, but what I really wanted to look like was glamourous.
The trial makeup and hair didn't last til evening, so I told her that right away so she could make a note and hopefully it would "stay" longer for the wedding.
For the real deal, I brought a picture of Eva Longoria (straight out of PEOPLE magazine) and told her I want Eva's makeup. (Now, I do not even look CLOSE to what Eva looks like, so I thought she would tell me "Uh, don't think so". But she worked her magic and she transformed me into a pretty close "Eva".
That was the best I've looked in years. She used the airbrush foundation, and gave me smoky eyes. I have very oily skin and I can not get my eye makeup to stay on my eyelids EVER. The eye makeup Leslie used lasted from 10am til 11pm without having to re-apply at all. The lipstick she uses is crazy and stays on even after eating. The foundation did not get runny or cake-up like my normal makeup does after a few hours. The hair was tight and stayed up the whole time (10am-11pm).
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LESLIE. MAKE SURE YOU DO A TRIAL RUN (which was $85) TO MAKE SURE YOU GET EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT.

This review is for the benefit of potential brides out there. Leslie Fair does amazing hair and makeup, but this review is for communication and timeliness.
She and her team came HOURS LATE to my girlfriend's wedding, yes, hour-S!! Apparently they had a number of weddings that they had booked that day and ran late. As a result, everything was pushed back, photography, everything, and the bride had to rush to the site. Inexcusable. This resulted in unnecessary stress and cost for the bride.
Although the makeup and hair came out great, due to the time crunch, everything was rushed. If you are going to book her, I'd be very clear about what time the team is expected to be at the venue. -

Leslie is AH-MAZING!! She was my hairdresser for about a year before my wedding in 2007. She did not have her own company at that time but she freelanced for the make-up artist that I did hire for my wedding.
She does a fabulous job with hair and make-up, and so sweet too! I highly recommend her! -

Leslie is amazing! She is super sweet and knows how to make you look flawless. I didn't even have a trial session with her and everything was perfect. She listens, isn't pushy, asks a lot of questions on what you want and do not want. She was right on time to the appointment and didn't disappoint. Just to make things fair, I will say that Leslie did NOT do my hair and make-up. So this review is not regarding her talent or abilities- which I do not know anything about. This review is to comment on the booking process...
We started the process on the right foot, everything was awesome from the start. She was receptive to my ideas and gave appropriate feedback and recommendations. Then the phone tag and email tag began. I was unable to reach her or her colleague Mark directly, so I left messages; and vice-versa was true. The last voice mail message I received from her was "not to worry" and that they definitely have me on their calendar, etc. (On a side note, I live in San Francisco, she is in Hawaii. Note number two, I am not comfortable with transmitting my credit card information via email. Note number three, therefore no deposit was given to secure my date.)
Then, on Friday the 13th (the NIGHT before valentines day and holiday weekend), I receive an EMAIL giving me 24-hours to respond with a deposit or else she will give my time-slot to a different party...
WTF? Haven't I been trying to do that? I was away with my fiance for Valentine's weekend, and came home to find myself without a stylist for our wedding day...

Leslie Fair is amazing at wedding hair and makeup. She did bridal hair and makeup, bridesmaid hair and make up and even my mom's makeup. She comes to your location and sets up her equipment and is just at home styling you on location. She showed up right on time (maybe a little early), set up all her gear and was ready to go with the heated curlers, make up and everything.
She is also just a real pleasure to work with and have around as you are preparing for your big day. She's relaxed, but professional, and just has a great attitude to help relax you as she's doing your styling.
A few things to note:
--They don't have the fastest response time since they're always busy but keep trying and they will respond: phone, email, website. Don't submit an email and sit for 2 months wondering if she's available. It's worth a follow up call or something...and now I'm not saying to be a pest, but it's worth following up. And if you want a more direct answer, it might be worth picking up the phone. Yes, get off email and try the old fashioned way of having a real conversation. You can try calling Leslie or Mark--both are very easy to work with. Get the details worked out, and get your deposit over to her to secure the date and time. And don't just give her a rough estimate--let her know, I need you between 10 and 2 to do XYZ--are you available? And then book it! I did read in another review sometimes she has a number of weddings in a day--might be worth asking about that.
--They take credit card numbers over the phone and will process you an email receipt promptly so you don't have to worry about payment on the day of
--BRING PHOTOS of what you like and what you don't like. The more you communicate with Leslie the more you'll get what you want. For my trial, I brought in magazine photos of what I liked and what I didn't and she was right on. We adjusted slightly from the trial but it was exactly what I had envisioned. And the hair and makeup lasted 12+ hours!
--BOOK EARLY. I got lucky that she was still available but I think she books up very quickly.

I'm kind of sad it's all done because Leslie did an amazing job. I'd hire her again in an instant. -

Leslie did hair and make-up for me and my bridesmaids on my wedding day and she did a fantastic job. She listened to what we said we wanted then was happy to adjust until it was exactly what each of us had in mind. She was incredibly fun and professional. I would highly recommend her to anybody!

My last review I spoke of Leslie's wonderful abilities as a make up artist and event hairstylist. I am now going to tell you how amazing my hair cut is that I had done by Leslie this last week. I love my hair! Love it! Leslie already worked with my hair for an up-do so she got to familiarize herself with all of my hair quirks but this was the first time she actually cut my hair. I had about six inches cut off! Yes, it was needed. I love my style. It is so chic and not one bit, soccer mommish. You know what I mean, ladies. I don't do anything to it but wash and spray a little root lifter and go. The hairs all behave and fall into place. I think Leslie is crazy talented! Seriously. I am so impressed and my husband loves it! Imagine that?

Leslie is very good at what she does and I go to her reglularly to get my hair done. She has a wonderful personality and you will love her. I personally like to do business with good people and I always tell people about her when I hear they are getting married or have a special event. She is also very organized and thoughtful so she is very easy to work with.

I got married in Honolulu in February and had Leslie do my hair and makeup. I cannot begin to rave about her enough. I recommend you do a trial run so you can let her know what you are looking for. She really listens to what you want and gives her opinion - the end result is absolutely gorgeous and stays put for HOURS. She has a great personality and is so sweet. She honestly helped keep me calm the day of my wedding. Getting hair and makeup done really takes away from the potential stress of the day. I would highly recommend her to anyone and have even decided to use her for a work event we will be having in Honolulu in the next month!!

I had Leslie do my hair and make up for my wedding this past May and I have absolutely no regrets! Its so overwhelming trying to pick a make up artist halfway across the country but Leslie made it so easy! She was quick to respond to any questions I had, either by email or phone and that really put me at ease.
Most make up artists are expensive in Oahu, however, I felt I was getting more bang for my buck with Leslie. Most make up artists I contacted charged a separate price for trial and day of hair and make up. With Leslie I was able to book both for the price of one. Also, I'm not much of a make up person and Leslie knew exactly how to fix me up! She didn't over do the make up and listened to what I liked and didn't like during the trial.
I definitely recommend Leslie for anyone getting married on Oahu! -

I got married in Honolulu last month, and after browsing numerous websites in search for someone to do my hair and make-up (I live in Texas so couldn't go see them in person), I decided to go with Leslie. I don't usually wear make-up and wasn't sure what I wanted. Leslie was easy to work with and very patient during the entire process, and I was really happy with how everything turned out. My hair looked the best it ever looked all my life (no exaggeration here) and my make-up was very nice and natural. I made the mistake of going kayaking without enough sunscreen 3 days before the wedding, resulting in bright red sunburn spots. Leslie airbrushed those spots away -- it was like they were never there! Even looking up close you wouldn't be able to tell which part of my skin was airbrushed. Amazing. I highly recommend Leslie to anyone who wants a flawless, natural look on their wedding day - you won't be disappointed!

Leslie did my hair and makeup for my wedding. She did an amazing job. She took what was important to me into account, and provided me with suggestions that she felt would work for my hair, my skin tone, my eyes, etc. Leslie was committed to me and my wedding. She always returned my calls and emails efficiently. Leslie is friendly, easy going, and professional, and personal. She made me feel beautiful and natural on my wedding day. I should start off by saying that I am a very tough critique when it comes to hair and make up. However, I must say that Leslie did a great job on my wedding day. I like that she really listens to her client's needs/wants, even if they may differ from her professional opinion. She was able to create the hairstyle and make up look that I wanted/envisioned. I was going for a romantic look with my hair and she nailed it. I brought in a bunch of pictures and she took detailed notes. My trial run was 6 months before my wedding day and she did such a great job taking notes, I never had to repeat myself. Leslie is an AMAZING hair stylist. My hair looked so beautiful!!! I wanted to keep it like that forever! And then when she put flowers in my hair (I had flowers and not a veil) it looked even more beautiful. Great job Leslie!!! I would highly recommend her. Just make sure you do a trial first so that she can get a good understanding of what you are envisioning for your wedding. I should also mention that she is responsive to emails/phone calls which makes working with her very easy. I actually live in Los Angeles so this made it very easy to work with her. She is friendly, caring, and truly a professional hair stylist and make up artist.
