I really like the Lenox.

I have alot of people who come to visit me on business stay there. The rooms are very spacious and nice. The hotel is clean and the bar Solas downstairs is a great Irish pub with great food and spirits.

Recently someone I had stay there lost there luggage at the airport. The Lenox followed up with the airlines and got back my clients bags back quickly.

I highly reccomend it

1st time staying at Lenox (stayed at the Taj last visit) and very impressed by the excellent, personal, friendly service. The Lenox is an old-time hotel from the bygone era before the chains took over the hotel business. Lenox is conveniently located in the Back Bay on a safe street just steps away from great shopping & restaurants.
SPECIAL ADVICE: Don't rely on GPS in Boston... The signal was both intermittent and often unreliable! I drove in circles on my way to the airport this morning.
That said: We will most probably book again at the Lenox when we return to Boston.

I may never be able to sleep in my bed at home again after spending 4 nights in the heavenly Lenox hotel. I really did feel like royalty when I stayed here. The staff was very approachable and willing to go the extra mile to guarantee my satisfaction. Keith and Jason the concierges were extraordinarily helpful the entire time by suggesting some great restaurants and making sure we didn't get lost in the city (we did a few times anyway). And the beds-OH those beds were comfy cozy.

Here's a tip for you: If you find this hotel on Orbitz or another discounted site, don't book through that website. Simpily call the hotel and ask if they'll match the rate. That way the hotel gets all the money and not a fraction of it as if you were to book online. If Orbitz is selling a room for $210, chances are the hotel only gets half that money. We got our rate on Orbitz and called the hotel and the reservationist was more than happy to give us the same discounted rate. Plus, when you book directly through the hotel, the chances of getting a comp upgrade and better service are much higher as you are exhibiting guest loyalty.

I'd love to check out the Judy Garland suite sometime.

They overbooked us and we were upgraded to a bigger room.  OMG,did I feel like a queen.  I didnt know hotel rooms could be this nice.  The beds are lovely and there is chocolate!!

The best thing is the bathroom.  I took a two hour bath everyday. Seriously, when I build my house I want my bathroom to be designed after the Lenox's bathroom.

The staff is really friendly, knowledgeable, very polite  and the service is top notch.  Definitely make you feel like a valuable customer and all. The door man is the sweetest gentlemen ever.

The location is great, minutes from the Pru and Newberry.

The bar inside is very old school and class. The drinks were strong, just the way they should be.   We didnt go the pub outside, so cant vouch for that one.

This will be my official boston hotel.

Went with my family, got 2 corner rooms for around $200/night. The rooms are AMAZING! They are just everything we needed. We wanted 2 queen bed in each room, spacious, nice couches, desk, big flat screen TV, nice bathrooms. Just everything we wanted.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. And it seems like they recognize the faces of every single customer! I love the complimentary cookies (peanut butter cup in a chocolate chip cookie cup!!!) they put on your pillows after the turn down service every evening. That's something small but incredibly sweet.

The bar is really cool! Had some very interesting fruit and spices infused whiskey and the cheese plate. Delicious!

Seriously, you don't get better deals in Boston like at Lenox. The location is excellent, can't be any more centrally located in the heart of the city! It's classy yet not pretentious, not your trendy W but like a classic that you'll want to read again and again. We've stayed in a couple different hotels in Boston, yet this one is definitely the best experience we've had.

I won't lie, the bed I stayed in wasn't very comfortable, but the hotel, and the room were  beautiful.  The location is great, there are two bars in the building, plus a decent hotel restaurant.

I'm staying here right now and it's the bees knees.

It must be the economy thing, but I got this room for about $180 and I get the impression this is usually a much more expensive place.  The rooms are great, staff friendly and helpful, and the location is great.

Many things that a chain would nickel and dime you for, this joint includes.  I would heartily recommend at this price.

Absolutely LOVED my stay!  Arrived in the early evening....bellmen were there to quickly help us get our luggage into the hotel and allowed me to check-in before returning the rental car to the Prudential Center.

The staff was consistently polite and the  concierge staff  was always so polite and helpful.  As previously mentioned, shortly after we arrived at our room, guest services called to make sure everything was ok.... The hair dryer in the room wasn't working and it took them just a few minutes to bring a replacement one.  They do provide complimentary bottled water and offer a list of conveniences for guests...

Aveda products were really nice and they provide the long lost turn down service and amenity.

Loved the location!  Easy access to the Prudential Center..enter through Lord and Taylor, right next door and proceed through the internal walkways....easy walk to Newbury, Chinatown, Boston Commons, Fenway Park and the T Station.

Prudential Center has great shopping and if you need a break from the great food, you can eat at the Food Court....

We walked everywhere from The Lenox!...when we got tired, we just hopped onto the T back to the hotel.

Lastly, I was lucky enough to get a great rate..l hope when I have the opportunity to return to Boston, I can get that same great rate!

The service at the Lenox is top notch.  I stayed here during my wedding weekend (but got married elsewhere) and they treated me like I was getting married at their hotel.  We had a room block there and most of our out of town guests stayed here, probably because it feels like old Boston.

They were so accomodating - giving us a private room for an after-party, allowing us to use their new Lexus as transportation to our wedding, and offering complimentary champagne at the end of the night.

Awesome service!

I'm in Boston for work, and this is my second time staying at the Lenox. First, the negatives:

1) Lack of power outlets near the desk
2) Slow elevators
3) Did they give me 2 bottles of water in the room last time but none this time? I forget if they did last time.

But those and any other negatives I have not thought of or experienced yet are far, far outweighed by this:

Peanut-butter-and-chocolate-peanut-butter-cup cookies waiting for me on the bed in my room. And they gave me a room with 2 beds. 2 cookies per bed x 2 beds = 1 very happy guest.

Other positives include: nice room, comfy beds, good temperature control, flat screen tv, free wireless internet, friendly staff, two pretty good bars attached to the lobby (yuppy Irish bar Solas, and the loungy City Bar).

I travel to Boston often for work and have stayed at several different hotels. The Lenox is definitely one of my faves so far. It's a great boutique hotel conveniently located a short walk from the Copley T stop, shops/restaurants on Newbury and Boylston Streets, and the Hynes Convention Center.

I appreciated some of the little things they do to make your stay feel personal. About 30 minutes after I settled into my room on the first night, I got a phone call from the front desk checking in on how everything was and make sure I was happy with my room. Great service. Also, each night I came back to my room, my bed was turned down and they a package a of peanut butter chocolate cookies were sitting on my pillow. It was a nice touch.

It has been our extreme pleasure to stay at The Lenox many times over the past several years. Situated in Boston's Back Bay area, this venerable hotel has been around since 1903. Recently expensively renovated, it is a beautiful gem. This is where Bill Clinton stayed when visiting Boston. Previous guests have included Judy Garland, Henry Fonda and John Travolta. It is the hotel of choice for the Vanderbilts.

The rooms are tasteful, comfortable and... well... roomy! The beds are divine. Evening turn-down service with chocolates on your pillow. Cokes out of the machine are a buck... cheaper than the local market.

The hotel's restaurant Azure is reviewed here on Yelp. While the reviews are mixed, our experience has always been positive. A little pricey, but inventive and delicious.

City Bar in The Lenox has become a destination for locals looking for great drinks and interesting company. They make a mean Martini... occasionally dispensing with the vermouth. Who needs it?

Solas, their Irish pub has OK food, but a nice atmosphere, friendly bartenders and Guinness on tap.

The Lenox is ideally located within easy walking distance of the trendy Newbury Street district, Boston Gardens, Boston Commons and the Charles River.

Rates can vary depending on what is going on in Boston that week, but you can get a beautiful room with breakfast for as little as $129. If there's a convention in town, you might be quoted $329. Just ask. They're totally helpful and nice. Call or email Debbie Curran. It's perfect. STAY HERE where you're in Boston.

This is the only hotel in Boston I will ever stay at. They've earned it.

BTW: David at the front desk during the wee hours is a GEM and a half.

I've had a great stay at the Lenox hotel. All reviews about it being sort of foofy, anti-W, grandma decor are right on the money, but the hotel is extremely comfy (great bed, good shower, AC/heater that I haven't had to really fuss with) and doesn't smell at all like Grandma's house.

I've had nothing but friendly, prompt service. Even when my in-room hair dryer crapped out after 15 seconds of use, a replacement was brought to me in less than 3 minutes (I was almost sure I was going to have to go to my business meeting with bad hair, but no!). When I asked for directions, the concierge actually walked outside with me and pointed me the right way. And the cookies you get at turn-down time are yummers.

And for the location, this is a great deal. I was actually here for an event at the Westin Copley place, but that was $600/night, so I stayed down the road at the Lenox for $229/night. Sweet deal! This place has been fantastic. I'd stay here again anytime.

Single gripe: the only power outlets within reach in the room were under the desk or in the bathroom. Not great for business travelers or anyone who wants to charge a cell phone or laptop or iron.

I've never stayed at the Lenox Hotel but I use their men's room every chance I get.  The toilets flush themselves.  The soap dispensers and faucets are automatic.  The hand dryers blow hot and are strong enough to send you into orbit.  You can take care of business without touching anything but yourself.

The bathrooms are right off the lobby and serve not only the hotel but its several restaurants--City Bar, Azure, and that faux Irish place whose name I don't remember--so its not like anyone's going to notice if you're caught short and have to make a pit stop.

The marble floors are spotless.  I won't say they're so clean you could eat off them because that would be gross but I can say with certainty that if I ever got shitfaced at City Bar and had to spend the night sleeping on a public bathroom floor with my face hanging over the toilet bowl, the Lenox men's room is where I'd want to be.

Solid hotel all the way around. Every member of the staff was cordial and helpful, from concierge to the bellman and the front desk.

The location of the Lenox is the best. They are close to a ton of restaurants and positioned nicely in one of the best areas in Boston, the Back Bay.

The Lenox is a nice place for a business stay or a quick romantic get away. Either way the Lenox is a terrific stay.

Small note: if you valet your car, get ready to pay 40 bucks a night.

I liked this hotel quite a bit! Great service, comfy room - Aveda products.
The decor is old victorian american classic, you know - kinda foofy. But comfy nonetheless. Service was great and the restaurant here was pretty good.

The elevators however are ungodly slow.

Lovely. Lovely. Lovely. And I'm not using the word ironically - it's the kind of place you'd recommend to your parents or your beloved Aunt Nana. The service at the front desk was great and when I needed help connecting to their wireless internet they sent someone up in less than 5 minutes (now that's what I'm talking about!). The decor of the room felt straight outta "Little Women" but the bed was amazingly comfortable and the shower was a little piece o' heaven. The Aveda products sealed the deal for me - this hotel was not exactly my scene  but I'd definitely send the official grown-ups in my life to stay at the Lenox.

The room decor takes you back to Grandma's house, so think of the Lenox as the anti-W.  Both for those familiar w/Boston and newbies, the location perfectly suits the visitor, as numerous restaurants/stores/attractions and the T station lie nearby.

By modern standards the rooms are spacious and comfortable...though Victorian and frilly.  A+.

The Lenox is probably choice #2 (Fairmont Copley being 1st) for my dad and step-mom when they come to visit me here in Boston. It is a very chic hotel, which is not too large, and provides some lovely views of Boston nightlife. It is also in the center of things...always a plus. The door men are just darling, and will get you a cab, even if that means running up and down boylston, with their whistles blowing (hehe, yes, that's happened). The concierge booked a few reservations at fabulous restaurants they suggested, and the bar on the first floor (not that pub one, but the classy one) is just great as well. I would reccommend this for the business traveler, or the young, hip, couple (like my parents), not too family-oriented, but family friendly for sure, as Boston is pretty diverse. Not sure how it is as prices go, but definitely on the more upscale side. Great, spacious rooms, and great staff, they make you feel welcome always.

Excellent eco-friendly rooms and great amenities off-set the shockingly stupid staff.
I lived here for a bit when I first moved to Boston.  The large bed, great view, perfect location, tasteful decor, and cleanliness were perfect.  When it comes to hotels this really has everything you need.
I would be love to give it more stars if it weren't for the awful staff.
I think they have a doorman, but does he actually do anything?  One of their employees was actually allowed to drink in the bar downstairs, room service was permanently late and grouchy and the absence of a full-time concierge left you in the hands of the rather unknowledgeable front desk staff.
The one bright spot was the housekeeping staff who were polite, excellent and prompt.
My patience with the staff was ended when I notified them that some highly sensitive, very important documents were arriving and than they LOST them.  They tried to tell me that they had never arrived, when the tracking system clearly stated that they had, and even been signed for by one of their staff.  They were extremely un-helpful and un-imaginative when I asked for their help in resolving the issue.  What shocked me is that they didn't even seem to care when I explained to them that due to their negligence I now had to book a flight back to California, shut down my bank accounts, and take several days off to rectify the issue.
What was even more annoying is that after I had returned to California the documents suddenly "turned up" at the hotel after all, making all the arrangements, time and expense un-necessary...and still the staff had no apology.
Frustrating when coupled with such a great location and swank hotel.  Hopefully, my experience was atypical.

Apparently the red sox were in town the weekend we wanted to slum it and get a room at the Howard Johnson's.  175 a night?! So we said "screw it" we'll go a little fancier if we have to! We opted for the Lenox hotel.  It's right in the middle of everywhere two young gals vacationing in Boston want to be around! The beds are probably the most comfortable things I have ever slept in.  The staff was completely accommodating and the shower accoutrement's are aveda! five big old red stars for the lenox.

A nice hotel in the Back Bay area - while it is certainly not the most posh, it offers an old school charm that is worth the nightly rate. A good majority of the rooms are actually pretty large and they have unique furniture, so you don't feel like you are in a hotel. I would definatly reccomend it over the other chain hotels in the area.

i stayed here a few weeks ago while i was in Boston... i was very impressed. this hotel is situated right in the Back Bay area, very close to newbury street, tons of shops, restaurants and fun bars. the hotel itself has 3 restaurants, all which have nice bars. the hotel also has free WiFi in all rooms and a fitness center on the 1st floor. the most noteable feature about our room was that we were on the top floor.... our windows had amazing views! the service we received was impeccable. every night we had turn-down service complete with truffles on our pilllows. in the morning, they had a newspaper waiting in front of our door. my favorite part was the extra comfy beds and the bathroom filled with Aveda products. not one staff member raised an eye when i stumbled back to the hotel at unGodly hours every night. in fact, one of the maids just giggled and handed me some extra truffles. a definite recommendation to business travelers...
