Neighborhood: Manhattan/Gramercy-Flatirondo you like big loads of hot meat in your mouth?
if so, you will LOOOOOVE lenny's.
although it was kinda pricey [$8ish post-tax], they definitely give you everything they've got.. and then stuff it into a tasty wrap!

The premier lunch spot on 23rd, baby . . who doesn't go loony for Lenny's? (wow, that was bad)
Awesome made to order salad bar, killer wraps and sandwiches, and complete drink and chip selection. This place is packed to the gills during rush hour, but you can't go wrong with ordering via phone. If you're a frequent patron, they can also store your credit card for future orders.
If you order on the phone, be explicit with what you want and make sure they have what you want. Sometimes they'll take liberties if they don't have what you asked for. For example, your man Geoff is very particular about his Cheez Doodlez. I've heard "We have Cheetos...same thing" and wanted to freak out on the phone a couple times - I've even recieved Cheetos in lieu of Cheez Doodlez (which they do carry, but were out of stock of) and wanted to commit murder.
I'm psycho, I know. But I have a right to be, damnit! . . . Other than that, it's been all good. It's a bit pricey but you can't ever go wrong with Lenny's.
Enjoy!
I went in with my hubby for lunch and I distinctly heard him order a plain chicken salad sandwich. The lady asked him if he wanted a combo he said yest. Next thing we know we get a sandwich with chicken salad, cucumbers, and red cabbage. (As gross as it sounds) When I looked over the menu I realized that in Lenny's terms, combo means more stuff on your sandwich, not chips and a drink. Our fault for not reading the menu, but kind of sneaky none the less to essentially ask, "Do you want fries with that?". I may go back and if I actually order a sandwich that tastes good then I'll raise it by one star. Great selection, tons of seating and yummy-looking baked goods.

They make a great hot roast beef, with the best tasting meat I've had for this kind of sandwich. Some of the other items on the menu are not as stellar, but the portions are always large. Only downside is that they can take a while to process your order, but I guess that means your sandwiches are fresh. Plenty of seating on the second level.

Lenny's is my work lunch destination when I really want to treat myself to a delicious, filling sandwich. It's a tad on the pricey side, which is why I don't go here more often, but it's well worth the money. My favorite is the Jimmy T. - chicken cutlet, melted mozzarella, sweet peppers and honey mustard. Mmmmmmmmmm. Warm & tasty. Sometimes I can only eat half of it b/c it's so stuffed, which means I get two days' worth of lunch for the price of one! Their tuna & shells salad and yogurt & fruit parfait are yummy too. Haven't tried the hot foods, but they do look appetizing. Plenty of seating upstairs, but in the summer months, my bf and I like to have a little picnic in Madison Square Park with all of our yummy Lenny's food.
Bonus tips: You can order your food ahead of time and have it delivered to you in the park. AND! They have an assortment of Rice to Riches rice pudding cups! Kinda pricey at $3.75 a pop, but I doubt that'll stop some people from getting their fix.

Just had a breakfast meeting with the folks at the office here. We fed 4 people on less than $20 including orange juice and coffee. We sat ont he second floor and were able to talk with minimal noise. The only thing was that it was freezing in there. But then again, today it is only 20 degrees.

I work right next door so sometimes I stop into Lenny's in the morning to get an egg sandwich. They're pretty mediocre, but close by and cheap. I made the mistake of ordering my sandwich with salt and pepper one day, and there was basically one quarter sized part of the eggs that had 3 servings of salt on it. yick. Their deli sandwiches are pretty good too.
The major complaint I have with Lenny's is that quite often my entire building smells like a garbage dump.
