You know how sisters can really rag on you and get under your skin? My sister has been making fun of my uneven eyebrows since I was, like, 13. I figured it was just one of those things that I'd have to live with, even after I started having my brows professionally done. Prior eyebrow peeps would say something like "You have one good brow and one bad one, so I'll just do what I can with the bad one." Okay, fine, I'm not going to get spun up about my crooked brows - lord knows I've got other shit to worry about.
Then I saw Lena. I walked out of there with EVEN BROWS. They were, like, the same! With similar arches! And length! And size! I saw my sister in July and pointed out that my eyebrows were finally the same. "Yeah," she said, eyeing me. "You're right."

Lena is freaking awesome!!! She made these chewbacca's even and better than I've ever had my brows. I don't know what the negative reviews stating that Lena is rude. She's very sweet and nice. I've found the brow diva!!!!

I agree with most of the reviews. She's a decent shaper, but with a bad attitude. She literally worked on me for 5 minutes and my brows turned out okay which is why I think she is decent. But for the amount I paid... Well I would expect a little more effort put with more time. Didn't even try to have any friendly chatting with me. Yes she's pretty good, but I don't think she's worth the price and the unfriendliness. There are many more places who will do a good job as well as have exceptional customer service (such as the waxing co or threading lounge)

Lena is the best! I live all the way in waikele and I will drive all the way to town just for Lena to do my eyebrows! Lena also did our makeup for my wedding... she has the eye and artistic skill to make anyone beautiful. FABULOUS! 10 STARS!!!

JUST FABULOUS: Being the 50-something Yelper to write about Lena, I can say with absolute certainty that all the rave reviews do not even do her justice. Aside from being the best waxer ever (for the first time the skin around my brows did not break out in red hives), she has a personality that is infectiously sweet. And we have the exact same dimples...how could I not be in love with her! :D
PROFESSIONAL: To me, a great sign of a seasoned industry professional is their responsiveness to "potential" clients' inquiries. Even though this was my first time making an appointment with Lena, and I waited until the very last minute of my day off, she responded very quickly to my emails and booking was a breeze. I'll have to remember to schedule my next appointment as soon as I finish this review, because I'm sure she's booked all the time.
SPEEDY and SHAPELY: Usually I'm apprehensive when my brow waxer says, "okay, we're done!" and only a few minutes have gone by, but what's cool about Lena is that she doesn't rush through it. She is quick, but so efficient and laid back that it's hard to believe it's done. When I took a look in the mirror I was amazed how clean and nicely shaped my brows were. I like to keep as much of my natural shape as possible, and Lena made them look like ME, just better.
PAIN FREE: I can't speak for anyone else, but I barely felt a thing when she pulled the wax off. This is a huge thing for me because I usually leave my appointments at other salons looking like I walked into a beehive. I usually have to ice my face for hours...but after my appointment with Lena, there was no redness or swelling. In fact...I went on my way and finished the rest of me errands!
PARKING: I love that she works out of a salon (Reneux) that is easy to get to (the same building as Bamboo Sky and Phuket Thai), and has parking. I paid $1.00 for an hour of parking, and even if the lot was full, I could easily park across the street near the other Ward shops if need be. YAY!!!Listed in: Beauty Breaks

I cheated on Lena once and went to Waxing Co. Needless to say, I will NEVER cheat on her again. My experience with Waxing Co. was not a pleasant one. I came out of there with thin brows and looked like a "porn star." I waited a good 1.5 months (patience is truly a virtue) so that I could grow my brows out. I did not hesitate to pay the $25+tip to see Lena so she could sculpt my brows into utter perfection.

Confession: I have caterpillar-like brows that cocoon themselves wherever they deem fit. Needless to say -- not exactly fun. I've had wax jobs where too much was taken off (aside from serious trekkies, most -- myself included -- would rather pass on the vulcan effect) as well as the other end of the spectrum, too little (uh thanks for tweezing those two hairs off. Do you charge for each?). Lena found a balance between the two: natural yet polished. My appointment was on time and with the groupon I used, her service was a steal! I'm not a chatty person
Her site is a bit tricky to find since she operates out of the spa on the second floor and her name isn't on the building directory. Yelp came in handy of course, so luckily I read up on reviews who schooled my likely-to-otherwise-be-lost self. My mother says I have an unusual obsession with eyebrows. I disagree, but I will say I'm terribly jealous of women who just walk around with beautiful brows.
My poor daughter was born with her father's bushy "Mumfur" brows that border on a unibrow. With prom just around the corner she asked me to fix it for her. I had a better idea...
Lena's reputation preceeds her so I could think of no one else to deal with the brow mess then her. A day after I first spoke to her, we were in her station and the magic began.
Lena stood over my daughter and like an artist painting on a canvas, she waxed and tweezed and reassessed in between. A little more here, a little more there, some brushing and some snipping and VOILA! Ze artiste iss done!
My daughter, who is usually unimpressed with everything, says to me, "I look like a girl!" Lena made subtle arches where there was no trace of them before...and best of all, she actually has two separate and distinct eyebrows! Just how God had intended...I hope.
I am sure this is not something I could have done on my own. Lena is the expert and once again, I am jealous. Let me start by saying, I am very sensitive when it comes to my eyebrows. In my early teens, I went a little tweezer crazy and plucked everything off save a few pathetic hairs. This made me the baldy-browed girl throughout high school and for years afterwards until I finally decided to spend a month growing that sh*t out so I could save my face. It grew out in patches and forced me into hideout for the month, but it was worth it. I got my first wax a couple of weeks in to establish shape and then went back a couple of weeks after that to finish the job.
Fast forward to two days ago. I live in LA, but I'm currently home in Hawai'i for the holidays. I came across the $17 eye brow wax deal on Groupon. Since I usually pay $25 at my usual place in LA, I followed the advice of other Yelpers praising Lena's work and bought the deal. I left a message for to schedule an appointment and got a call back right away from Lena, who said I could come in the following day. You pay about a buck for an hour of parking behind the plaza, which was more than enough time for me because I was in and out of there within 15 minutes.
I didn't wait at all. Lena greeted me right away and got down to business. She was very professional and friendly. I appreciate her conversing with me while she waxed, because I learned a little bit about her and realized she is more than qualified for the job having traveled and worked in established salons in Beverly Hills. I tend to welt up around my brows after a wax job because of my sensitive skin, but she somehow kept the welting to a minimum. Maybe it was the lotion she used afterwards. When she was done, my eyebrows were flawless.

Okay, first let me say I am in no way a foo foo girl. I don't go out to clubs, I'm in the military, and I hardly ever wear makeup. And I'm incredibly cheap. Which is why when this deal came up in groupon to have my eyebrows done by a *real* professional for only $17, I was stoked.
I too had a bad experience with eye brows. I self-plucked in high school, and only years later in college did I realize one brow was totally uneven. How could people let me live like this?! To fix this, I went to a 'professional' at a nail salon (I know, I know, hardly professional when you pay $15 and they hardly speak english) off and on. Sometimes they did a good job, sometimes not.
So here was a chance to have a real expert do it, I jumped on it. And boy am I sure glad I did! Even though I was an awful client that was 5 minutes late, she totally showed grace. She did an AMAZING job people. Seriously. It didn't even hurt. A little bit of wax, some lotion, some tweezing, some snipping, and voila, I loved loved my eyebrows. LOVE them. To the point I might actually pay full price to have them done again.

I'd read reviews of this fab brow lady on here and everyone was raving, so trusting the ladies on here, I went to her.
She is NOT as great and fabulous as people have reviewed. I'm sure that there are a lot of 'friends' vs honest clients reviews on here.
I wear my brows well groomed, but not DRAWN in. Which is what I explained to her. Like another reviewer said, I should have gotten my clue when I noticed how she wears her own brows. I did get a little nervous at that point but decided that I should not judge her skills based on her taste and to give her a chance to give me what I had asked for.

Let me start off by saying I love Lena. I look like a Korean god descended to earth to fulfill the world with love. But on the other hand, being Korean, I hate to wait. My rule is if someone books an appointment for a certain time with the exception of five minutes give and take, I expect my time to be "my" time.
This review is being written at 10:30, my appointment was for 10:15. I even came early as a courtesy. Thirty minutes to wait to get a brow wax done is too long. You lose credibility and it's thirty minutes of my time where I could have gone to Starbucks or Jamba Juice.
Sadly, I may need to add Lena on my patiently wait list. She knows how to live up to her name; Lena's "FAB" brows. It's natural, I don't look fake like those Asian girls with a millimeter pencil drawn in eyebrow, or the earth loving gals where "au naturel" is a given.
My consultation lasted not even 20 seconds, and the wax and plucking came up! It was so painful, but in a metro-sexualized society and more importantly in my line of work I need to look good for whomever I meet and whenever they want to meet me. And thank goodness I don't look angry! It looks natural and am VERY pleased with the results.

After having a horrible waxing experience, back in California, Lena was like a breath of fresh air! Not only did she accommodate me by staying later than usual, she did an amazing job on my brows! Like I told her, you get what you pay for and let me tell you - don't trust your brows with anyone that charges $5! I am sooo thankful that I decided to go with Lena and will be continuing to go to her, from now on!

I've known Lena for years and for one reason or another I never went to her to get my eyebrows done. I'd gone to Paul Brown and then moved to Nordstrom's but just couldn't deal with the ridiculous waiting list. After having Lena at one of my Yelp events I decided that it was time to visit her for a brow waxing because she must be good if she's #1 for beauty on Yelp...AND my eyebrows were starting to look Ewok. First you go Ewok, then you go unibrow, then no one wants to hang out with you because it's just awkward!
Headed down to Lena's which is in the Reneaux Medi Spa on Kamake'e Street. For those of you shopaholics, it's right above Bamboo Sky on the 2nd floor. Her chair is right inside the medi spa and it's a beautiful space that's very clean and relaxing. For years Lena ran her business out of her home and she's been in this new space for about a year. In addition to brow waxing she also does make-up for weddings and events. She was telling me about how she loves the space because she brings her brides in for a trial run before the big day and she no longer has to mesh her business into her home life.
My appointment took about 15-20 minutes and Lena did a great job shaping and trimming my brows. I guess I didn't have a ton of hair to pull so she chose to use tweezers and didn't use any wax. I actually appreciated this because I don't always like the waxing experience. I think I've been scarred from "other" waxing experiences. I was really happy with the end result because she cleaned everything up nicely, got rid of the Ewok and most importantly, did not over pluck and turn me into a drinky bar girl with drawn in eyebrows. I'm a big fan of natural so I like my brows to look full but polished.
Yes, Lena is more pricey than your average $10 cheap eye brow waxing but I'd much rather pay more to get the job done right. One bad pluck or waxing and that could mean the end of your beautifully balanced brows! The thought just gives me chills. My BF appreciates that he no longer needs to play Star Wars with me and I appreciate that I've found my new brow waxing goddess in Lena! -

I've been to see Lena once. I was able to text her about setting up an appointment and she was very accomodating and very quick with responding to my texts so that was great. It took me a while to find her because although I knew the address, I didn't know that she rented out a spot in the cosmetic spa place. She did a pretty good job with my brows but I haven't gone back nor do I really intend to because it was pretty pricey for just brows. Normally I do brows and lips for around that price at other places. But the main reason why I don't really care to go back is because she seemed a little rushed and she spent the whole time talking story with the person who rents the spot next to hers. I found that a little rude and would much prefer her either to concentrate more on me or maybe make small talk with me. I don't mean to come across as selfish or what not but I figure if I'm paying someone for a service, then it SHOULD be all about me, or mostly about me if anything.
It's weird though because everyone else seems to say she was super nice (which she was if not a bit distant) and professional. It may have been because I'm young and appear to be even younger than I am -___- or maybe it was just an off day for her but that's just how I felt during my experience. -

I have been going to Lena for over 2 years and I absolutely love her and her services! She is a really good make up artist that understands each woman's unique beauty.
I give Lena 5 stars because as yelp says, she IS as good as it gets! I usually get my brows done once a month from her and when she is done waxing, I feel like a new woman!
As for makeup, I have been a model for a photo shoot and she has been absolutely amazing! She is very detailed oriented and always wants you to look your best.

When I moved out of California to Hawaii, I was afraid for countless reasons. One of my reasons, that I must say goes top on the list, was to find someone who could do my eyebrows just as good as the girl who has been shaping my eyebrow for ages back home.. After some trial and errors, i finally found someone who could shape my eyebrows just as good... but even better!
Been going to her for a little over a year now and she always does an amazing job. I actually went a stray one day (for emergency sake) and ended up walking out with super arched, thin, eyebrows. SO HATED IT! (I won't mention the business *cough* PA-UHH *cough* BRRROWN) A month later I went back to Lena and she surprisingly worked with what I had and brought my eyebrows back to normal! WOOHOO!! Now I don't look like a wanna-be chola.

I made an appointment with Lena after she had waxed my brows at a Yelp event a couple of months ago. She did a great job then, so I had planned to book her again. Took me a little while to make a follow-up appointment but I finally did and am very pleased with the results.
I have blonde hair, so I can kinda get away without waxing for a while but when I do I am reminded how much more "polished" I look!

Lena is very professional and skilled! I've got long-haired eyebrows, and I can definitely feel the difference when she trims, waxes, and tweezes. She also doesn't give me too much of a dramatic shaping, which is good since I'm fine with the way my eyebrows curve. (I look at people who have line-thin eyebrows that look like they're tweezed to death, their beautiful shaping is gone. Please don't do it.)
She offers monthly deals once in awhile, and she's forgiving that I don't go back for a touch-up on time. I hope she isn't mad, times are hard and money is tight. Nevertheless, a good investment! -

Thanks again fellow yelpers! Not only have I found my hairdresser for life, but also my esthetician! All of you were right about her: she's great at what she does, sociable, and made me feel comfortable.
Funny story today: had my appt. with her and kinda got lost looking for the place. Hint: don't pass the Shell Station - you've gone too far! After finally finding the place, I had no cash; forgot my checkbook. Walked around the corner (1 min walk) to inquire the nearest ATM. Store owner sent me to a gas station (3 min fast paced NYC walk) that DIDN'T have an ATM. That gas station then sent me to the 7-11 (another 3 min fast paced NYC walk). Finally speed walked back (7 min trek) to finally get my waxing done. That's all I wanted - pretty brows and hairless lips.
What a way to end the day! Sorry Lena for the inconvenience! For those who know me, I am very particular with my dentist, hairdresser, and waxer. Definitely recommend her! No hair left behind!! Checkout her website for more details. -

Lena is absolutely wonderful!
Before going to Lena, I've been going to another lady for years - but I hated her customer service, but I kept going to her because she lived so close. Until one day I just had enough. So I took to twitter and yelp and many people recommended Lena - so after growing my eyebrows out (scary!), I booked an appointment.
She is very friendly and I loved how she made me feel conformable. She took her time, making sure my eyebrows were perfect and the end result was amazing!
My eyebrows looked way better and framed my face well. I loved loved it!
Before going out with friends, I fill in my brows and set it with a clear gel (I use clear mascara); and my brows look amazing! I got compliments! :)

I always wanted to try this place out because I've heard great reviews. Then when I saw the groupon, and it was the perfect opportunity! I called and booked my appointment. I was glad that I didn't have to wait 2-3 months before I could get seen, which is how it is a Anastasia in Nordstrom.
I parked in the paid lot by bamboo sky and, I was a little confused to where I go. I went into the building and didn't see her name on the listing, but looked at the Suite # and she has a space in the Reneux Spa.
When I went in she was finishing up with her client, she apologized that I had to wait, her client ran late and set her back. So be on time if possible.
She asked me how I like my brows, and then she got to work. We chit-chat a bit, and the next thing I knew I was done. She handed me the mirror and asked me how I liked it. I LOVED IT! It was exactly how I liked it. It had been awhile since my last brow waxing, and it's so nice to have it so clean, no fuzzies.

I just moved to Oahu and needed my eyebrows done. After reading all the good reviews of Lena, I decided to go there. Luckily, she was running a 1/2 off for first time customers, so instead of the $35 regular price, I got it for $18!
I normally get my brows threaded because when I'd get it waxed they take off too much hair and never shaped it very nicely. So I was a little skeptical.
However, she did such a wonderful job! My brows were so overgrown and nasty, and she made them look fabulous!! (no pun intended!!) She shaped them perfectly. She also didn't leave any stray hairs behind (which has happened to me a lot). To be honest, that was the BEST brow job I've ever had.
She is pricey though. I'm still debating whether I want to spend $25 for the next upkeep...if only she'd charge $18 every single time!!! -

Lena is amazing! Very attentive and focused on styling your brows exactly how you want them. I am always pleased with her work and I love that she always takes the time to ask me exactly how I want them shaped. She is super friendly, down to earth and fun to talk to as an added bonus. I'm a chatty cathy so I tend to want to know a persons life story if I like them so I am forever talking her ear off and she doesn't seem to mind. In the year I've been going to see her I've found her to be the kind of girl I'd like to hang out with for happy hour and at the same time she is very professional and I'm grateful that she was recommended to me. One of my favorite things about going to her is that she text messages with you to make, confirm, or even remind you of your appointments! Not sure if she does this with everyone but I LOVE this added 21st century personal touch. I also did not realize until recently that she waxes more than just brows so I've started getting my Brazilians done by her too. Just like with my eyebrow waxing she's thorough, everything is clean/sanitary, and she makes you comfortable. Her pricing is on par with what I was paying when I lived in D.C. and I think it is well worth it for the high level of service that she provides and it's what I am used in that price range. She even gave me some birthday girl bling and a discount which was awesome. In a word, she's FABULOUS!

Brows are the most integral part of a woman's face. It frames the face offsetting key features. I LOVE getting my brows done and when I saw that Lena had a March special I practically jumped towards the phone.
Lena is very friendly her shop is near Ward Centers in a small spa on the second floor of a store called I think Bamboo Sky.
I tell you, she is heaven sent from above. I had my eye brows waxed at Paul Mitchells in Waikele and I don't know but the wax really hurt I think it was too hot or something and also they took tooo much hair off making my brows way to skinny. But Lena she took my eyebrows to a whole new level. She was very gentle and was fast! My eyebrows were so beautiful I got so many compliments hehehe. My eyebrows aren't as thick as I wish them to be so right after waxing I put on some eyebrow powder and wooowee!!! I swear I think I cried a little inside they were soo well...FABULOUS!! hehehe
I would go to her twice a month but me on my college budget can't afford the $35 then $25 maint. So I guess I'll hopefully go every once a month because jeez..I love doing my eyebrows its the perfect pick-me-up. =]] -

I was worried about who I was going to get to do my wedding day make-up in Hawaii since I wouldn't have a lot of time to do any trials since I live in Seattle. Well, from the get go when I called Lena, she was easy to work with and returned calls and emails just about instantaneously from her crackberry. This for me is a big plus since my Treo is a natural extension of my arm and I'm never anywhere without it.
When I finally met with her in person, it was like we were old friends and she did an amazing job to make me look natural and pretty without being overly done. It was exactly what I wanted for my big day and I looked great from day to evening.
If I lived on Oahu, I would be a regular for her waxing services. Take it from me, I'm VERY picky about eyebrows and she knows how to do them right.Listed in: Nuptial Bliss

I've always felt like I have weird eyebrows and usually shape and trim them myself. I had gone to another woman who was highly recommended by friends but I didn't feel it was anything special. But when that $17 deal appeared for Lena's services I figured I'd give her a try. Thank goodness I did because she is great at what she does! She turned my seemingly awkward eyebrows into normal ones! Hooray! The one star is only because she's a bit pricey, otherwise she'd get 5 stars!

I was a little apprehensive first about going to get my brows done by someone I'd never met before and just 4 weeks before my wedding date. But I had no choice because we had just moved to O'ahu and I had no idea where to go. So I scheduled an appointment after reading all these wonderful reviews on yelp...
I am SO GLAD I made that appointment. Lena is AWESOME, from the get-go she was super friendly which I love and she made my brows look PHENOMENAL which is pretty amazing considering I went there with pretty unbalanced crooked eyebrows (from a previous negative experience at a Nordstrom Anastasia station). I feel like I have a new face now, what a difference brows make!
I HIGHLY recommend Lena, her price is very reasonable and well worth it considering what a fabulous job she does. I will not be going elsewhere for my brow waxes. -

Having just moved here from Seattle, I had been apprehensive to let anyone touch my brows since I had a fabulous waxer in Seattle. Previously, the only people that have touched my brows have been Anastasia trained so I was excited to see they had a counter here in Nordstrom's. After leaving a message and getting a call back, they said they could see me in 1.5 months...um NO! I figured I'd give yelp a try and see what I could find. Lena had great reviews so I figured what the hay.
Lena was very fast to respond and was able to squeeze me in first thing in the morning. She did an AMAZING job and is super nice!!! I had some friends visiting and they even commented on my 'perfect arches.' THANKS LENA!

I'm originally from Hawaii but now live in California - I needed to find someone to wax my brows for my wedding in Hawaii and I was so happy and relieved to find Lena!
I checked out her web site and read her reviews on Yelp, so I decided to give her a try back in April - she was as great as everyone says - so I booked her for my wedding in June. She's professional and definitely a perfectionist - she's great at what she does and she's got a fun personality.

What Lena can do with hot wax and a piece of cloth is amazing!
After seeing so many different people yank way way way too much hair out (not everyone wants the pencil thin line look!!) I was still skeptical to see Lena. However her reviews spoke volumes about her talent and I finally gave in. Thank goodness I did. I wanted natural looking brows and that's exactly what I got. That was several months ago and now that I'm back in town for not too much longer, she is definitely on my must try and get an appointment list. -

Got my brows and my lip done before my wedding.
I disagree with Kristen C (5/30/10) review... "regarding she didnt know what she was doing". She ripped both my eyebrows and upper lip. She obviously KNEW she did a piss poor job because she was nice enough to recommend that I buy neosporine with lidocaine. Gee thanks.
Ladies if you have delicate skin and/or an important event DO NOT GO HERE. -

Coming form the fashion industry in NYC, I've worked with some of the top make-up artists around. So when I needed my make-up done for a fund-raiser I was attending, I went to Lena.
Upon arrival, we discussed the look I was looking for. I told her I wanted dramatic smoky eyes and away to work she went. She has a passion for what she does and it comes through in her work.
I received so many compliments that evening on my make-up I wish I had only had found a great hair-stylists to go with my face!
If you need her for your wedding or special event she is the go-to person for me. I highly recommend her. -

I moved from NYC to Hawaii Kai two years ago. I had a top eyebrow specialist who has been featured in magazines and works in a chic NYC salon (Sex and the City movie filmed there!). She was the best and charged $75 for an eyebrow wax! That's NYC for ya.
So, when I moved here I never thought I would find a replacement for my NYC lady. Boy was I wrong! I met Lena back in February of this year. I was going to a wedding which was to be televised on a popular reality show that films here on Oahu. I wanted to look my best so I looked up eyebrow wax on Yelp. There I saw the many positive reviews for Lena's Fab Brows. I took a chance and made an appointment for brow and makeup. All of you were right! Lena is Fab!
Not only is she friendly and puts you at ease, she is an expert at what she does. I was very satisfied with my brows and delighted with my makeup. Plus, she is way more affordable than my lady back in NYC. I have been going to Lena for my brows ever since. Plus, I love her new spot in town. There is parking and it's easy to find. If you want fab brows...Lena is the best! -

If you want beautiful brows, Lena is the one to make that happen.
I follow her on Twitter and finally got myself out to her when she was one of vendors at a Fashionista's Market event. (I mean, you can't beat the special she was running of $10 for brow waxing!) After that initial waxing, I was hooked.
I've been having my brows waxed for a couple years now by different people. Lena has a knack for waxing. She is professional, knowledgeable, and gentle. In fact at my last visit she asked me if my husband might want a "clean up" under his brows. He was game and she waxed him too. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure she now has another regular client. (Thanks Lena!) -

I think all her friends are writing reviews for her! Nothing special. No great eyebrow shaper and a terrible attitude. You would think that since she knew I found her on yelp she would shine. Nope!!
