5 reviews for Legend's Hall of Fame Grill
Legends is the epitome of a townie bar. When I moved to North Waltham I saw the sign for karaoke, so i brought some friends over. Like a classic townie bar, it was sketchy at first but warmed up quickly. My friends now go there about once a month. My friends and I became friends with the dj, and we feel comfortable chatting with the regulars. The waitresses are all really nice (and sometimes sing!), and occasionally there's free booze and giveaways from various liquor companies with girls who wear shorts so tiny that make my butt feel cold. Ray, the manager, was so helpful when i brought friends there for my birthday, and for my friend's bachelorette party! It's not a party until the fat guy strips!
I gave this 4 stars and not 5 because the food is fairly average, and it isn't the prettiest bar.
The best part about this bar is the Kareoke DJ and the ample parking.
Table service is non-existant and the bar staff is slow, and sometimes downright rude. The food is ok in a pinch, but with such great restaurants soo close, why bother?
Sketchy, sketchy, sketchy. Like many local-yocal bars, this place is full of old (i.e. RETIRED) men looking to pick up young chicks - complete with superiority complexes and a complete lack of respect for women. Not *my* cup of tea. Not many fights, which is a good thing because I don't think the bar staff would be able to handle it.
With soo much to chose from in Waltham, no need to bother.
For some reason this has become a weekly hangout for many of my Waltham friends. It started out as a laugh -- let's go to karaoke at the townie bar!!! -- but it's oddly addictive. There are some real characters hanging around the place and it's a wee bit sketchy in feel, but everyone is actually quite nice, and there's beer. I brought a roommate here once and warned her about the sketch factor, and when we got home she said, "That was nothing! No one even got into any fights!" So I give it a solid three stars -- no glamor, nothing fancy, but then again, no one gets into fights. It is a blank canvas: with the right people, you could have a good time, but don't expect Legends to contribute much to your evening.
Karaoke nights are Thursdays which I've hit up twice on two desperate occasions. I had a great time the first time because there was an event going on but the second time, it was just locals. I do not recommend going here unless you're wasted drunk and don't mind hanging around discrepit washouts belting out oldies. I have performed Britney's finest here under such conditions. I've never eaten here.
I've been there for karaoke. Definitely not my favorite place to karaoke. I've found the people there to be a little cliquey and competitive when it comes to karaoke. It's definitely a townie bar, but not even my favorite one. Their beer selection is caca.
