If you've been to Palm Springs, I'm sure you've gone up the street where there are a million and one restaurants (exaggeration, of course, but not by much). I think I saw every ethnic food to choose from; Indian, Chinese, Peruvian, Polish. You name it, you can probably find it on that stretch. We neared the end of the strip though and we still didn't have any idea of what we wanted to eat, so as we neared the freeway, we decided to make a U-Turn and hit the first one on the strip.
Uptown grill, as fortune would have it, was that restaurant. It's a small place just across the street from Baker's restaurant my mom wanted to go to. Of course, I didn't drive to Palm Springs to eat at a Baker's so we chose Uptown. I'm really glad I'm always up to trying something new because this place turned out to be a great lunch spot. The prices were a bit high for lunch but for what we got, the prices were certainly justified. I had the portobello mushroom burger that had a thick, juicy 3/4ish lb. sized patty in it. It came with some of the most delicious french fries I've had in quite a while. The GF ordered the Fish and chips which turned out to be an awesome choice. The fish was moist and the outside was crispy. My mom ordered the Salmon Salad which had a nice vinaigrette dressing that she loved.
The bill came out to just over $50 after tip. Kinda' expensive for lunch, if you ask me, but, again, totally worth it. The owners were walking around making sure everyone was enjoying their lunch. They were so friendly with everyone in there that it seemed like it was a locals only spot. If they hadn't been so friendly with us, I probably would've made that assumption. The lady in the front was extremely pleasant and we ended up having a good conversation about LA traffic (she drives there all the time to visit her kids).
If you're in the area, I totally recommend the place. The food, atmosphere (which was kinda' ol' school), and service is excellent. -

We had many fun evenings here. Sadly, closed now, and falling apart in the hot sun and dry wind. RIP, Left Bank!

I am floored there aren't more reviews of this establishment. They have one of my favorite dishes anywhere (and I've tried a fair amount of the menu here) which is a Blue Cheese Stuffed Filet Mignon. It's off menu, and off the hook. Usually on the special or not, but a must have if your in the desert. Enjoy.
