I recently purchased a ball gown from offer up. The lady said it was a size 4 so I figured I could wear it. When I got home my bum was too big to zip the dress up! I was heartbroken because I absolutely love this dress! I took it to the first tailor and he said there was not enough material to let out, that's it point blank period. I was so discouraged until I did my research on yelp. I came across this shop and decided to give it a try. They were so friendly! I tried the dress on to show her my dilemma and she said NO PROBLEM! We can take fabric from the end of your dress to widen it at the hips. They did an AMAZING job! The price was $48 which was great for what they did for me. I won't go anywhere else now, I found my tailor! Give them a try

4 check-insLee is a pretty common Chinese surname so there are multiple Lee's Tailors in this area! I'm pretty sure this place might be a one-off separate from a small chain by the same name. Does that make sense?
This Lee's Tailors is located in an odd spot off of Western Blvd. Sort of in the same plaza as Harris Teeter and Planet Fitness but in a side part of the plaza. Go up a steep hill and the storefront is hidden by a large row of hedges (they should probably cut these... :-) Inside Lee's it's tailor-made for alterations. Four changing rooms on the left, mirrored alterations area for your wedding gown, back room with sewing machines for the real work. I just need to get a pair of pants hemmed which is $8 and several days but I wasn't in any particular hurry.
Lee's Tailors seems pretty popular so you might want to visit in off times but there's a good reason why. They do excellent alteration work at reasonable prices. So yeah, check em out if you need some of your garments altered. This original Lee's Tailors might be the best in the area... -

3 check-insListed in Nuptial BlissI took my dress here with 3 weeks till my wedding. I kept telling myself I would lose a few pounds and ended up gaining 5. My dress wouldn't clasps, and my wedding gown had sleeves that fit lose on my back and tight on my shoulders. I also had my slip that went way to far up and showed. Ping and her employees did a great job. It took about 2 weeks and $125.00 which is a great price!
I dropped my dress off and told one of the workers I wanted to first fix the clasp after trying it on and looked at how it fit. So after I week I came back and tried on the dress again and saw it still needed to be altered as the sleeves didn't fit right. We thought by fixing the clasp it might solve the other problems. So ping and a worker looked at how it fit, pinned it up, and I left it for another week. She also made my slip much shorter and to fit perfect so it didn't show in the back.
I went yesterday to pick up my dress and the sleeves look great in the back, the clasp is fixed, and it's almost perfect, but there was not enough material to do as much as I would of liked to the sleeves. That wasn't Pings fault or flaw, it's my dress. It fits and is much more comfortable than before just not perfect. She did the best she could, a very quick turn around, and every time I went into the shop it was packed with happy customers. She also has great prices!
If you can't find the shop don't worry I got a bit lost my first time as well. It's in borderline Cary/Raleigh In the plaza with Harris Teeter but closer to planet fitness . Once you find planet fitness you look over to the left and you will see another smaller building and in the back of that building over a crazy steep hill and hidden is Lee's. Sometimes the small parking area gets packed with customers and parking can be a bit of hassle but all in all it's worth it! -

This place is absolutely fine for basic, easy alterations. Pant hems and jacket sleeve lengths have been satisfactory. And these services are done quickly.
But for anyone looking for a more traditional, conservative look to their suits and sport coats, more complex matters (such as jackets being taken in) should go elsewhere.
While I'm rather thin and tall, I tend to avoid low-rise, ultra slim-fits and contemporary trends, to which Lee's Tailors seems to cater. I have taken a few suits and sport coats to be slightly taken in (perhaps 1/2" on either side) in the chest and jacket waist, and most (almost all) have needed readjustment, as they were too slim-fitting for my preference. To Lee's credit, the readjustments were not an additional charge.
I realize this look may be what many (or most) men are looking for today with their suits and sport coats. To those individuals, Lee's is qualified. But to those who prefer a 'trad' sack suit and 3/2 roll jackets, perhaps consider another tailor. -

I wanted to like this place from the great reviews and I've been on the hunt for a good tailor in Raleigh for a while but I feel like I've been cheated!!!! I came in for a 1-2inch hem on a dress and to cut some lace off the top and she charged me $100..... Did I mention it took me almost an hour to get it fitted because there was almost a line out the door of people waiting to pay/pick up as well as a line for the fitting rooms. Is this the only tailor in Raleigh?? why is everyone going here??
I paid $120 for the dress & $100 for the alterations... I should have just bought a new dress.
TELL YOUR CUSTOMERS HOW MUCH THE ESTIMATE IS BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE ITEM WITH YOU :( Not cool!
All of these reviews of having reasonable prices are very old. -

UPDATE: I did e-mail Ping (she wasn't there the night I picked up my dress) about my frustrations/wrinkled dress, etc. She offered to steam it and make it right. But I still feel that for this service, that should have been part of the process all along. Still, I increased my rating from 1* to 2* because of that.

I chose this shop to alter my wedding dress, despite the fact that it's 15 miles from home, thanks to the awesome reviews from other brides. I was horribly, awfully disappointed.
First, it is a drycleaner/tailor. And they don't make appointments. So if you go for a fittign for something like a wedding dress, DO NOT expect anyone's undivided attention. The same person marking your dress also has to greet customers at the door, run the cash register, and find pickup orders.
The first round of alterations had 3 goals: 1- remove the mini-train; 2-add a modesty panel to the bodice; 3-adjust the fit of the bodice.
Since I did not have her undivided attention, we somehow missed that the reason the bodice didn't fit quite right was that my dress was TOO BIG . When I tried to point this out to her, she adjusted the shoulders a bit and seemed satisfied. I was trusting her skills, so I left it there.
Thankfully I tried it on when I picked it up.
At that point, she noticed that the bodice was actually just too big. I also decided I wanted to adjust the waistband.
They charged full price for both rounds of alterations - even though fitting the bodice had been my original goal, and it was not done correctly.
When I returned to pick up my dress the second time, it fit beautifully. The alterations were great. But the skirt was HORRIBLY WRINKLED.
Now it is a tailor/dry cleaner. So I thought it would be easy to have that fixed.
NOPE. They refused to steam my dress, or to even reduce the fee so that I could pay someone else to do it.
I paid $255 for alterations to my $200 wedding dress.
And I left with a WRINKLES, in tears.
When I did finally find someone to steam it, we also discovered that a piece of marking chalk had been left in the hem. Really? Chalk?
I can't tell you how disappointed I was. -

Great place to get hemming done. I had to get three pair of scrub pants done and this place is awesome! I was able to pick up my pants the day after I dropped them off and it was only $7 a pair! I will definitely come back here when I need more hemming done!

2 check-insAs you'll read in all the other reviews, it's unanimous, Ping is AMAZING. My wedding dress needed to be hemmed, but I wasn't going to have it done at David's Bridal as I heard absolute horror stories about delays, misalterations, and just plain bad service. So I decided to find an actual tailor to help me out.
There are only good things said about Ping and I can definitely see why. She is super sweet, professional, and her prices are reasonable. Funny story, she asked me, "Do you need a bustle?" and all I could do was stare at her stupidly and say, "Umm, I don't know, what's a bustle?" She just smiled and proceeded to show me what a bustle would do (FYI, it'll pull the train of your wedding dress up so it's not dragging while you're walking around or dancing. You're welcome.) My dress also had a corset built in, so she helped tie me in before she determined what needed to be altered. Ping never made me feel uncomfortable.
My dress was ready in a week. And it sounded like she could've had it done faster if I needed it sooner. I tried it on in one of the rooms....perfect. If I ever need anything else to be altered, I will definitely return to Ping. And you shouldn't hesistate to come to here either! -

1 check-inLee's Tailor is my go to tailor shop. They have been in business for many years and have served many famous politicians, coaches, athletes, and other local celebrities. They provide quality alterations and dry cleaning service. The employees are always very attentive in ensuring that you are pleased with the measurements before you have the alterations completed. Service here is also very fast. They will work with you to make sure you have all of your alterations completed by any specific date you need. I have had several articles of clothing altered here and have always been very pleased with the quality of the craftsmanship. There are a list of prices for different types of alterations on their website. The prices are fair and you will get quality work in a short time, if needed. Overall, Lee's Tailors will take care of you. One must remember that they are tailors, not magicians. If you are looking for a reliable, high quality tailor in Raleigh, this is the place to go.

Tailor? Superhero? Angel? Sure.
It's not hyperbole above. Ping saved us. My sister's wedding dress was altered by another tailor, who came recommended. When we tried it on a week before her bridal portraits (just a week after the initial fitting/alterations were made), it wouldn't close. As this threatened to upend weeks of planning on an increasingly short schedule, at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon, I remembered Ping at Lee's Tailors. She had altered a dress for a work event of mine just two short weeks before, and made it feel as though the dress were custom made for me.
My sister called and explained the situation. Ping's response? "Well, why are you not coming today? Let's go! See you soon!" We piled in the car, and hightailed it from Gorman/Tryon to the shop.
Ping stayed past closing time to work with us and ultimately fixed the chopped job where the dress had been taken in. Not only that, she noticed several other poorly executed details that we initially missed, and offered to redo the bustle, reattach the belt, and restitch the bustline. Total cost to have it done four days later? $120. Unheard of.
She instantly brought my sister's blood pressure down with her calm demeanor and competence. No matter your need, Ping is all Tim Gunn: MAKE IT WORK. -

I had originally taken my new suit pants to a different tailor towards Garner to have length taken off of them. The pants were returned to me with horrible stitching that bunches the fabric and were still way too long. With one day from needing these pants for a Wedding I searched Yelp and found Lee's Tailor is the highest rated in Raleigh and had fast service. I took my pants there on a Friday, late afternoon, Ping had me in and out in less than 10 minutes and the pants were not only ready by 10a the next day but they looked perfect. No bunching. The perfect length. I would 100% recommend Lee's Tailors to anyone, their service is amazing, prices are competitive and turn around time is real quick. Awesome!
Side note: Don't be surprised if you have to wait a little bit on the weekends for service, this place is always packed, especially during Wedding season. If you *do* have to wait, trust me, it's worth it. -

1 check-inGot the works done on a new suit and two shirts. They got it done perfectly in under 24 hours. The price was quite reasonable as well. The staff was nice and definitely skilled, took about 20 for all the measurements etc. I can see why they are so highly rated, and I would absolutely recommend them.

Swooped in with my wedding dress 2 weeks before the big day after a horrible experience at Victorian Rose Bridal, and Ping was able to work it all out. She was personable, competent and realistic and less than half the price my bridal salon was going to charge me.
She noticed things that the other tailors I spoke to didn't, and worked out a good solution for a complicated bustle. I also loved that she had everything she needed in the store. I didn't like Krystyna's because you have to bring in anything you need - cups, fabric, etc. There were plenty of people coming in and several seemed like they've known her for a long time.
I felt like I could really trust her with a $4000 dress.
I'll update when I get the dress back. -

I got two casual dress shirts taken in at the torso and slightly at the sleeves. Nothing too complicated, but after tailoring the shirts fit wonderfully. Additionally, the customer service experience was pleasant, work was done quickly, and prices are reasonable. I will definitely be a return customer.

I did a cash & carry purchase from Jos A Bank, because I know their alterations run about $40-50 (from a few yrs ago). I thought I could find someone better and cheaper.
Yelp led me here and it's not far from my work. Ping did a great job - you can tell she's been doing it a long time. She had me stand in front of the mirror and was a whirlwind, putting needles here and there. Next thing I knew, she had all the trims/cuffs, etc and the suit looked great in the mirror. Came in on a Mon and was promised by Fri (I didn't need it that quick so I picked it up the week after).
When I picked up, I tried on the suit just in case and it was tailored just as she had pinned. I guess your mileage may vary, based on the alterations, but for tailoring an uncut suit from J.A.B. I was charged $48 total, including sewing on the row of cuff buttons. Bottom line, I probably paid as much as I would have @ J.A.B. but I think I got a better tailoring job. My last suit tailored by J.A.B. had some threads come loose, etc. I guess time will tell but, right out of the gate, this tailored suit feels better. -

PING! Amazing. She's the sweetest, kindest, little seamstress/tailor I've ever met. The set up is a little intimidating if you're shy... You put your dress on and come out in front of the rest of the store. Aside from that, I'm very happy with Ping. It gets busy, so allow some time when you're coming to get fitted. But the turn around to when you get your items is pretty amazing, usually a couple of days. I took in six dresses today and she estimated around a week... pretty impressive. I'm short, so I'll be back.

If I could give them 50 stars I would. Not much to add to what has already been written by other Yelpers. Suffice it to say that the accolades about this place and the owner Ping are not hyperbole.
She is very gracious and professional. While I have yet to pick up the 3 suits she is altering for me, I have no doubt that I will be satisfied. If not I WILL post an update.

Want your jeans tailored same day for only one extra dollar? ABSOLUTELY!! And on top of that, its only $8 before that. These people are fast, professional and easy to work with.
Would have given 5 stars, except this last time they forgot my pants - when i went to pick them up, they apologized and completed the job WELL in less than 5 minutes. Awesome! Worth finding. -

Excellent service! The work is impeccable. I had a jumpsuit taken in and it was done so well that I could not even tell where she had made the changes. The turn around time is pretty fast (less than 5 days). I also got some pants hemmed and again very well done. I recommended going there for all your tailoring needs. I even saw two ladies getting their wedding dress altered while in there. FYI....She is located on 5535 Western Blvd. Her shop is not affiliated with the other Lee's chain tailor shops around town.
