Decent hummus- but not the best I've had.  Good amount of pita bread served with it, maybe too much.
Chicken gyro sandwich- great chicken, too much hummus in it...I prefer when they put tzatziki and hot sauce instead.  I'll try to ask for that instead next time.
Beef gyro sandwich- really really great meat.

Love the beef schwarma and falafel!  The hummus is perfect with just a touch of acidity.  There is never a wait for a table.  Hubby always gets the Lebanese tea.  It is so fragrant and refreshing.

The only thing that gets me is that they could stand to dust and clean the window ledges of dead insects.  I just try to turn a blind eye since the food is so delicious.

My luck with unplanned trips to restaurants has been stellar lately. The food gods are obviously on my side. Now, how to I keep them there? We decided to hit a locals only place for dinner tonight, especially as it was our last night in NOLA . Unfortunately, the 1st attempt at this did now work out (try a 2 hour wait for a hole in the wall restaurant that looks like Katrina kicked it's butt not 1x but 2xs.)

Not to be swayed, we started to amble around neighborhoods with no destination in mind and landed in front of this wonderful establishment. 1st clue: wall to wall locals everywhere. 2nd clue: you could smell the food from 50 feet away. 3rd clue: the St. Charles street car stopped in front of it and the 4th clue: my stomach began to gurgle

Without much conversation, we all headed in, grabbed a table and peppered the waitress with questions about the menu. After telling us her favorites, we ordered as directed and were not disappointed. My friend ordered the grape leaves with hummus, another ordered the seared tuna with hummus (seeing a trend), while the rest of us ordered the sauteed vegetables.

My array of colorful vegetables were served in the ceramic pan they were cooked in covered in a mixture of melted feta and mozzarella cheese. Sadly, there was no hummus with my dish, but I happily and greedily stole, err sampled some from my table mates. De-li-cious!!

If you've read my reviews, you know I don't eat meat; so well done veges excite my palette and my soul. Kudos to any restaurant who serves them as a meal and does it well.

Best part is we all left pleasantly stuffed, with food still left on our respective plates and the bill was barely $60 for four people. Plus, this is a BYOB place. Yes, as in bring your own bottle of wine. Nice! Hmmmm.....that's why all the Tulane students were there. Either way, this place rocks. Who woulda thought...Lebanese food in NOLA. Give it a try!

Could this place get any better? Huge portions, BYOB(!!!!!!!!!) and delicious flavors. The service was on point and the best I had in all of new Orleans. I had the combo kabob plate and it was delicious. The chicken was to die for. The steak was very good and tender. I didn't enjoy what I thought was the lamb. It looked and tasted like hamburger. Everyone eating here really looked like they were enjoying themselves and its the type of place where you could sit and relax with friends for as long as you like. Wish they had one of these in the bay area.

Stuffed Grape Leaves were divine, pita fresh, salad flavorful, and these beautiful little birds kept scrambling between my feet looking for table scraps(outside). Staff was friendly and inviting- brought out silverware and menus for two, but when I explained I was dining alone that night, promptly returned offering a local newspaper.  Great food without the usual associated pomp - recommend for all.

It's true. After hearing rave reviews about Lebanon's for months, I checked out the place myself.

hot pitas, green salads and excellent hummus served with every dinner. Good sized servings, fast service and an interesting mix of customers.

The chicken sawarma was excellent-- big strips of tender chicken flavored with vinegar and garlic.

Be careful with the lamb offerings. My lamb sawarma was dry and unevenly spiced.

All-in-all, more authentic, more flavorful than Mona's Cafe

Best hummus I've had in awhile. Perfectly garlicy, with fresh pita. My falafel sandwich was delicious, but unfortunately my friend's cheese and veggie plate (served in a skillet, SMOTHERED in cheese) was frozen on the inside. I would have given them four stars if they didn't have to take it back and bake a new one. My friend watched us eat for about 15 minutes before she got her new one -- kind of a buzzkill. Otherwise, really great, cheap food. Plus, it's BYOB.

Ate here for lunch just today. It is probably my favorite Lebanese restaurant.  The waitress today was great, super friendly. As always, the food today was amazing. I am a creature of habit so had the chicken sawarma. I hear the veggie bake is to die for. Love the humus.

Consider me a new fan of this place!  I've driven by it, but Lebanese cuisine is never on my mind when I go back home to NOLA.  It will be from now on though...

The menu was extensive and everything sounded delicious (and after some food stalking, I noticed everyone's plates looked fantastic).  The Lebanese tea was absolutely perfect.  Once I saw the pine nuts resting on the ice cubes, I knew this place was legit.  My chicken schwarma was tasty, but I was a much bigger fan of my cousin's chicken kababs.  The seasoning was amazing...

Then there's the hummus.  I'm a hard sell on the ground up chickpeas...their's had the perfect consistency, just enough garlic...yum.  I could just sit there with a basket of pita, a plate of hummus, the tea...and be completely content.  Can wait to go back!

I've been to this restaurant twice and each time I had NO complaint!!!! I'm new to Middle Eastern food, but I haven't picked a wrong dish yet.  I ordered the Beef Shawarma once and the Falafel Plate the second time. I had no complaint either time.

The service was excellent.  Your servers are knowledgeable and prompt and the prices are very economical.

It appears they allow you to bring your own wine to accompany your meat.  Good food, great service and prices, then BYOB as well, you can't beat that!

Lebanese Tea was awesome!

Food was very tasty, the Gyro and the Chicken Shawarma were legit.

Service wasn't great....was left unattended for long periods of time waiting to place order, get refills, and get the check.

The place was more than half full but our food did come out quickly. Even with the poor service, I'll definately be back!

Solid middle eastern food.  The menu is not too different from the various locations of Mona's.  They do somethings better than Mona's (notably some of the salads), but others not as well (I love the falafel at Mona's the best).  The atmosphere is good and the wait staff seems to be a bit ditzy.

You will never leave hungry from Lebanon's Cafe. We always start with pita bread and hummus, which is very smooth and oh-so-tasty. The entrees are very generous and you get so much food for the affordable price. While everything they offer is good, I always go with the unexpected winner of the tuna steak. It's sushi grade, un-stinky (yes, un-stinky) with a great flavor, yet I seem to always need to add salt. Hardly an issue.

It's fun having a group of friends there since it's so casual. I don't feel bad about picking off of everyone else's plates. I've never had to wait long for my food to arrive, even in larger groups, and service was always very smooth.

Parking can be a hassle, since it's always busy. You might have to park a  few blocks away and hoof it, so skip the stilettos, 'cuz those side-streets are gnarly.

Came with a group of 5 and everyone was very pleased. Obviously one of the best places to go in New Orleans if you're with vegetarians. I had the lamb shishkabob and it was delicious ... tasted like it was marinated and seasoned to perfection.

One thing worth pointing out: they don't serve alcohol but you can apparently bring your own, so you might want to grab a bottle of wine or a six-pack on the way over.

My gyro was okay, I was going to order the lamb, but the waiter suggested the beef instead, hinting the lamb was dry... I should have ordered the lamb. My friend ordered a lamb dish (not the gyro, but I assume it's the same meat they put in the gyro?) and it was DELICIOUS. The eggplant sandwich is pretty amazing too. Good hummus. Casual atmosphere. Make it for lunch.

Yummy!!

I had the Chicken Shawarma, and it was great!  The hummus is excellent, very very tasty.  I love how the dish comes with a small salad with a light, refreshing dressing (and I'm very wary of dressings because I don't like my salads drenched in dressing), hummus (yum), and bread.  I tried falafel for the first time here, and I didn't like it, so I'm not sure if it's because of the  way they make it here or if I just don't like it in general.

The place is nicely decorated, and you can also sit outside.  The service was decent--a tad bit slow but overall all right.  On a weeknight, it was fairly crowded with several parties inside and outside.  I would recommend this over Byblos, which was very crowded, not as good, and more expensive.  Can't wait to go back!

Lebanon Cafe has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. I've never had a bad meal here, and I've been satisfied with their selections both as a meat eater and as a vegetarian, when I stopped eating meat three years ago.  Everyone should try the Lebanese tea; it's the perfect summer day beverage with pine nuts and rose water. The hummus is exceptional and they aren't stingy with the pita bread either.

Lebanese tea w/ pinenuts!

This place does a great business and really has that uni feel to it (tons of Tulane students come here as well as loyola).  I love how this place is so chill!

Hummus so freakin awesome but their salads are simple and delicious!  Love that hint of garlic, lime, and olive oil..yes yes yes!!!!!

I still prefer Byblos on Mag but they only win b/c of the street!  But L.C. is totally wallet friendly and I think BYOB????  hmmm.....tough it out when parking folks!

Lebanon's is optimally situated near me as I live in Mid-City so I think I've frequented it amply enough to say it's a darn decent restaurant.  Let me clarify that I'm vegan (what?!  In this city?  Maybe I'm masochistic!?  Jk!) so Mediterranean food and I are kind of like long time bffs.  At first blush, I was not very impressed with the restaurant due to the inept waitress (I had to literally) flag her down.  I believe I had the Vegetarian Grape Leaves entree and the grape leaves were definitely sopping with delightful spices, if not an overkill of olive oil which made them a bit mushy.  The hummus was delicious - although it could've used a bit more garlic (but I know that would probably offend most other diners).  The accompanying tiny salad was nice - fresh and absent of wilted slimy greens.  Anyway, since then, I've re-visited Lebanon's possibly twenty times.  The food is superbly better than Mona's Cafe - most notably the Falafel.  The ones at Mona kind of taste like they're squeezed out of some kind of mass produced plastic receptacle - just kind of bland and a little mealy.  The ones at Lebanon definitely have a pleasant crispiness and the spices are very complementary.  The Baba Ganuj is pretty typical but it's decent so I do think it's worth trying.  The Faul can be a little bit runny at time and bland, but when it's done right, it's an excellent appetizer.  The Tabouleh is pretty standard and I don't go out of my way for it, but sometimes it's nice to accompany the hummus.  Whenever I'm trying to eat "lighter" I typically order the Fattoush (which isn't anything extraordinary, but it's tasty enough and feels healthy (haha)) and the Lentil Soup.  I love lentils so maybe I'm a bit biased and you shouldn't rely too much on what I'm about to say but I love this soup.  It's just the perfect amount of blended lentil with what I detect as a little bit of curry and the fattening deep fried pita chips (okay, I try to force myself to discard those when I'm trying to be "healthy") are an excellent adornment and flavor infusion/consistency variety . . .  I may possibly like Byblos more than Lebanon's but I haven't been there nearly as much so for now I would have to say Lebanon is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in town.  Although you may have noted that I'm not MAD RAVING about this place, yet I've awarded it four stars simply because with the exception of my first time there - the food is very consistently good.  The service - more so these days.  So of the few vegan options I have in town, I rather enjoy Lebanon's and dine there maybe once every two weeks.

I love this place! The falafel is always good and on occasion I would get the eggplant sandwich. The labna and hummus oh so good! My roomies and I would come here often when we all lived in NOLA and it was always such a nice treat! Prices are very reasonable, food is good, service is always friendly, ambiance is relaxing. You can BYOB which is always a fun treat. It's a great place for lunch or a casual dinner. Oh and the little almond things that they give you with your bill...a nice sweet touch!

In the four years I lived in New Orleans, this was definitely my favorite restaurant. In fact it is still my favorite middle eastern restaurant, and I make a point to eat here every time I visit. For any Tulane freshman w/o a car it is a dream come true. Everything on the menu is good, and it always has a bustling atmosphere (which is a good thing). Great place to socialize. I'm glad it survived the storm. That gives me faith in NOLA.

Good food and priced to go with portions. Sometimes when it's busy, you may have to wait for a table, but I always see the owner helping out. The waittress there comes by to check up on at the right time, but I have never had a problem with anyone there, no beef here.

Always gets the chef special and can never finish it because too filled up on the pita bread. Falafel, love the kibby, the salad with the mozzarella cheese if off the chain. There is this dish that is baked, it has veggies with feta cheese over rice and covered with cheese, baked in the oven hot---excellent! The wraps are huge and I can never finish it.

Much bang for the buck

I didn't even know I liked Lebanese food until I ate here.  The atmosphere is nice, the food is great, and the price...it's cheap!  My lady-friend and I come here pretty frequently and order 2 or 3 appetizers to split.  It's perfect for a light meal, and gives you the opportunity to sample a variety of offerings.  I've never had to wait for a table, and you can actually hear yourself think, which is nice.

In my 3 years here, this is probably the restaurant I've been to the most in the city. The bread's always warm, the food's always good, the place busy enough to give it a buzz but not so crowded that you'll have to wait for a table or need to suck in your stomach to get into your seat. Outdoor seating too if you want it. The one blip I can think of is once my friend's Lebanese tea (mmm lebanese tea) came with a huge bug in it. Not attractive of course. Of the handful of middle eastern places in nola though (Mona, pyramids, babylon etc.), this one's the best overall.

Really good falafel, but pretty bad service. Our waitress gave almost everybody at the table the wrong meal and drink without asking who had what, and then disappeared to the point where I had to get up and go look for her when we wanted our bill. I found her sitting down and chatting to a friend (during the lunch rush!) The food was very good and the prices are very reasonable. Maybe on another day with another server I could have given 4 stars.

Everything I've had here is good, but I like Mona's Fattoush salad better. But if you are vegetarian, or not, you have to get the sauted veggies (cauliflower, carrots, onions, peppers, squash and lots of garlic) that is layered over rice then topped with a blanket of feta cheese. Then baked so that the cheese is crusty on the outside and warm and smooth on the inside. YUM. I cannot eat all of it (plus some of my husbands hummus and pita) and it is even better the next day for breakfast!

Out of all the middle eastern restaurants I have tried in New Orleans, this one is top notch.  Their food is always well spiced and leaves you craving more.  The lebnah (a mint and garlic spiced yogurt) is creamy and delicious and goes great with pita.  Their gyro platter is awesome both while your eating it and after re-heating it from the fridge.  If you order take out, pita is given in plenty.  The service is wonderful and the price is very reasonable.
