A great Green dry-cleaners?  Yep, it exists!  Right next to Balducci's and Chef Geoff's, you can find Leather & Lace.  (The name sounds a little too naughty to be a dry cleaners, but I digress...)  

I found this place two years ago after getting fed up with my cleaners in Glover Park.  You know the scenario where you go in with a small stain and it comes back from the cleaners and it's 10x worse.  Well, that's never happened at Leather & Lace!    

The store claims that in addition to being environmentally-friendly, your clothes won't fade as quickly and won't have that chemical smell with green dry cleaning.  I wondered if the claims were too good to be true, but guess what?  My colors are brighter, and the clothes don't smell at all.  Plus, L&L has been great about getting my stains out, which is what you want from your dry cleaner, right?

The prices are reasonable, or at least as reasonable as you can find for dry cleaning in DC.  L&L doesn't have a plant on the premises, but if you ask, the friendly staff will make sure your clothes are back in the store within a day or two.  Frequent customers can get free satin hangers or a discount on future cleaning after every 5 drop-offs.
