I've been using Leader of the Pack for vacation pet care for about a year now and they have always been wonderful. Chris takes excellent care of our dog and cat while we're out of town. She is very professional and caring. The price is also very reasonable. It's so much easier on us and our animals to have them well cared for in their own home when we're out of town.
I don't usually use the dog walking service because my work day is relatively short. However, there have been occasions when I've had to have someone walk the dog, and it's usually a last minute issue. Chris has always been able to accomodate us.
I highly highly highly recommend Leader of the Pack. We are very lucky to have such amazing care for our pets. -

Ok, so I've only been using their services for a short time, but I really like Leader of the Pack dog walking. After interviewing several, dare I say, "interesting" people to walk Cohen, our trainer recommended LOTP. I met with the owner and the walker who would be taking care of Cohen and immediately felt good about them. They take all of my requests very seriously and they actually walk Cohen for the full time - something that I've had a problem with with other walkers in the past. We get a full write up of where they walked and whether Cohen did his business. The owner and walker seem to have a lot of experience with dogs.
Other stuff....
The owner is very responsive to requests and responds quickly to emails or phone calls. The rates are comparable to other walkers in the area and as a special bonus, LOTP takes credit cards. It's silly, but it's nice not to have to worry about remembering to write a check each week.
I will update this review if anything changes, but so far we've been very happy with LOTP. -

I've hired Leader of the Pack a few times over the last year for their in-home petsitting. They try to ensure you get the same sitter each time. They are very responsive in terms of returning phone calls, and take care to understand every detail of your pets' routines and how you would like your home maintained. Their rates for in-home sitting are lower than you pay for boarding (at least at well-reviewed spots) and you get the added bonus of knowing your place is being watched and your dogs/cats are enjoying their own home environment while you're away. Highly recommended.

We love leader of the pack! Karen is great to work with and she has been walking our dogs while the regular dog walker (a very sweet older woman) is on vacation. The dogs love her and I think they behave for her (I hope). Unlike our previous dog walker, Karen always gets the dogs to do their business. Both Karen and Lena leave great cute notes about the dogs' walk. I would recommend them to anyone.

Leader of the Pack started out serving under served dog walking neighborhoods like Jefferson Park and Albany Park. In 1999 Leader of the Pack sold the routes west of Kedzie to Lizzie's Dogwalkers and we continue to serve customers North of Addison, south of Main Street in Evanston and east of California.
Meet the Business Owner: Karen G.
Dogs and cats have always been a great love and passion of mine. After reading the book "Do What You Love and the Money Will Follow", I slowly separated from my current job as a public education coordinator at Access Living and built the dog walking business with my then partner Liz Pazik. After splitting the business with Liz ten years ago, I have continued growing Leader of the Pack. One of our dog walkers Walter Thon has slowly been buying shares of the business over the past 4 years and is my current business partner. Chris Huston is our House sitting Manager.
I am the proud parent of two beautiful dogs named Honey and Andy whom I love more every day.
