Le Petit Salon is one of the best of the over 4,000 (I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating, but really, I'm not) nail salons located in Los Altos. It's owned by Nancy Tran, who is an excellent manicurist and does gel nails that look completely natural and last almost three weeks. Even though I hate getting my nails done (which has nothing to do with Nancy and everything to do with how sensitive my nails are), I go pretty much every two weeks, anethesizing myself with People magazine during the procedure.  

Le Petit Salon is bright, clean and offers a number of other salon services. When I started going to Nancy almost 15 years ago, she was one of a number of manicurists working in someone else's shop. Today she owns her own salon! Gotta love that entrepreneurial spirit.

I get my gel nails done by Nancy every two weeks, and they always look fabulous.  She is extremely gentle (does not file the heck out of my nails!) and excellent at shaping.  I have pretty good nails to start with, so when I decided to go for gel (so I wouldn't have to deal with chipping), I did my research to find the best enhancement option out there.  Nancy was only one of two manicurists near me offering the gel I was looking for, and the other one was no longer taking new clients.  Now that I've been to Nancy, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else anyway!

Nancy has a very soft and gentle demeanor.  She's very elegant and patient, and it shows in the work she does.  The salon is very clean, and every time I'm there, I'm offered water or tea.  She also considers every aspect of my comfort, asking me if I need a pillow, or adjusting the UV lamps to make sure I don't have to strain my body.

The pedicures at the salon are also wonderful.  There are many steps involved (more than at other places I've been at), and the ladies are all very generous with massage time, although I wish they would work with stronger hands.

I'm so glad I found this place!!!
