Reasonably priced for SF. Friendly service from the desk. Room was extra clean and smelled fresh. Only hotel with a "13th" floor. We had views across the skyline and bay. Gorgous! Nice granite countertops and very comfortable bed. Lots of windows at two different angles. Sure, it might be in the financial district, but it's quiet, roomy and you can take a cab anywhere. Besides, you are close to Chinatown and the Embarcadero. We'll stay here again!

This was a good one! The location was a little disappointing, because we checked in on a Sunday and everything around it was dead! But then come Monday, we started enjoying it a lot more. We went by the Embarcadero and Chinatown etc.
The rooms were really big, clean and comfy! I love large-sized stuff! Their room service was also very good and they had a little table by the window through which you could see the bridge and the bay!
Although I enjoyed the hotel and the room a lot, I decided to move to Westin in Union Square for the 4th and 5th nights just for the location. I did miss this hotel and thought it was much better after experiencing the Westin,

Not sure if this place needs another review but here it goes:
It was weired being back in SF as a visitor after having lived here for seven years ...
I had a really pleasant stay at the Meridien after getting over my fear of heights: the room was on the 22nd floor and the huge windows make for quite a view.
The place has a nice contemporary design though the original 70's design shows through, including the low ceilings, wood paneling, etc. The beds are heavenly. Everything is very clean. The staff attentive and responsive. I was pleasantly surprised to find the quality of the room service food excellent. That's hard to find!
Only down side was a family with noisy children in the room next door which had a connecting door to my room. Hence one could hear every word, TV, etc.. So make sure to avoid those rooms.
The location of the hotel is not in close walking distance to restaurants, shopping, night life. So if you want to be in the middle of the action, you may want to chose another hotel.
Beautiful room, INSANELY comfy bed, and the staff was courteous and friendly - even though we booked our rooms half-price through Priceline. :)
They upgraded my friends and I to bigger rooms for free, moved us to the same floor so we'd be close together, and even joked around with us. Also, the maids paid attention to those "privacy" signs when we put them out - which is a big deal!
We used the concierge service a few times for little things - and learned by listening in to the people in front of us that they will set you up for just about anything - they'll call for spa appointments, dinner reservations, theater tickets - whatever you want!
If I weren't so intent on staying in a different neighborhood every time I visit SF, I'd definitely book a room here again.

We wanted to have a nice night in the city with friends from the north bay so booked two rooms on Hotwire. Didn't know what hotel it was and had never stayed at Le Meridien before. Got there first, and one room wasn't ready so we checked into the one that was. When the other room was finished we had a look and instantly moved! The first room had a big window and OK view of part of the Bay Bridge and another big building across the street; the second room had a huge window and a view over all of North Beach to the bay. It was gorgeous! (Ask for a north-facing view.) Didn't seem like the rooms should have been priced the same.
The bathroom was HUGE and marble with cozy robes. We ordered a yummy cheese plate from room service and uncorked the wine we'd brought. The bed was super comfy with a very high pillow index (we now rate hotels based on pillow index - a very good barometer). We were close enough to North Beach that after our night on the town we staggered back on foot. In the morning we ordered tea and toast and it arrived with a Chronicle - perfect. We spent the next hour plus relaxing in front of that incredible view... heaven.
When we finally checked out we asked for a brunch recommendation and they called ahead for us. Apparently there just aren't any good brunchy places nearby so we ended up at Il Fornaio - too far away and too upscale; I just wanted eggs and home fries! Oh, also, we parked our car across the street at the Embarcadero Center, which was waaay cheaper than the valet at the hotel would have been, though I can't remember the specifics.
Of all the hotels I've stayed in this remains my favorite so far for quality and excellent, sexy, international hotel vibe.
I had a gig this past week & got to stay here with a few other talents for the photo shoot.
Why did I enjoy this stay:
1. Frette sheet,
2. Gorgeous views,
3. Nakamachi system,
4. Excellent service at Valet, they allowed my car to part right on the front!
5. Starwood Preferred
6. 24 hours room service
7. Right in the heart of Financial District. Walking distance to the Ferry Building & North Beach!
Definitely a nice place to stay for a business traveler! 4.5 stars

We had a great stay in April and I would welcome the opportunity to go back! We found such a GREAT deal on hotels.com it was almost unbelievable that the hotel lived up to everything that was promised and it did. Le Meridien is located in the Financial District and we were tourists there are on the weekend so it seemed like the streets belonged to us. The rooms were really attractive without being pretentious and the beds and pillows gave me the good night sleep that I don't usually get at home. The hotel staff were personable without being up your butt. So much of what we were visiting was also walking distance and/or a quick mass transit away. And the shower head also kicked my butt. Something I also at present don't get in my own home!
This is essentially a "business hotel" both by virtue of its location in the financial district & it's several floors of meeting rooms. Wife and I stayed here during a law school graduation/family visit bonanza weekend involving both our families.
This used to be the "Park Hyatt" and the new band Le Meriden basically involves a make over of what must have been a classy but stodgy american hotel into a more international "boutique" environment. The boutiqueness starts with the scent in the lobby ("Our signature scent!)- it smells like forest. Bubbling water is the sound track in the elevator, and the rooms have flat screens & ample mini bars. No coffee machine though, which was strange.
The bed was comfortable, and the room size was more then adequate- even spacious- for its location. The hotel bar was nice in that it wasn't crowded on a friday afternoon, but was a bummer in the sense that the appetizers were over priced and not tasty (calimari and california chees plate i'm looking at you!) Absence of a coffee maker in the rooms is mitigated by service of coffee in the downstairs lobby during the morning and the presence of two Starbucks visible from the main entrance.
All in all a worth while place to stay on the weekend, especially if you get a deal on the room- like we did.

A vendor comped a room for me this week during their annual user conference and it was quite nice. The view and location are great. Rooms are very nicely appointed but not huge (we had a king "executive" room on the 24th floor, but not a suite). The staff is fantastic and was very accommodating to my children. I wasn't able to try the food but the room was excellent.
The hotel was undergoing some mild remodeling (moved the concierge desk, replaced toilets, etc.) and the impact on us guests was minimal. My wife, however, complained loudly about the new toilet, though I didn't notice a difference.
My only complaint was the water pressure in the shower. Twice it completely shut off on me, only to return moments later.
We stayed an extra night at the beginning of the conference and had to pay for that ourselves. The rate was very reasonable ($220) but the same room three days later when we wanted to stay an extra day was $450. Crazy.
Would I stay there again? You bet, if I could get the better rate or my vendor decided to comp the room again.

This hotel is pure luxury and a perfect place to stay in San Francisco. The building itself, the lobby and perfectly appointed rooms are all a great way to help experience one of the most amazing cities in the world. The location is great because it's in the not so touristy part of the city (Financial District), but it's still close enough to everything that keeps things convenient...it's also very safe. I can't write about the room service or the restaurant inside the hotel (it does have one), but everything else was fantastic (the staff was actually very nice as well!).
Le Meridien is definitely a perfect place to stay...it's a bit costly, but well worth it.

awesome hotel. Had a suite on the 22nd floor. The view was awesome. Excellent services.
Stayed at this property on the weekend of 6/29/08. Upon arrival, got upgraded to the Luxury Whirlpool Suite on the 19th SPG Floor. I have stayed at this property before and ever since, it became one of my favorite properties in SF.
The area: The Hotel is located at the Financial District area of the SF. It is very quiet most of the time and it is within a walking distance to the Bart station (in between Embarcadero and Montgomery Station). Close walk to the ferry building (for sat/sun morning's farmers market - a must DO in SF if ur a visitor). Close walk to the Union Square and Chinatown. However, everything is at least 10 mins walk. The area is VERY dead after the business hours (esp. on weekends) but its quite safe to walk around (I was walking to the bart station at 5am - totally safe).
The Lobby - Small, but very nice and clean. They relocated the concierge desk to a more "visible" area, which is a good thing. The Concierge is what I like the most about this property. They seem very knowledgble and makes good recommendation on dining, things to do..etc. The front desk were efficient too. Some people were annoyed by the "music" that they play inside the elevator but it doesn't bothers me, I think its a global Le Meridien theme thing, its suppose to be soothing but oh well, how long are you going to stay in the elevator anyway you know?
The Room: Excellent, they recently renovated all the rooms so now they have the new bedding and furnitures. The beds are nice and I remember it is used to be the Frette Bedding, don't know if that is still the case or not. But this time the room finally have the Le Meridien feel to it in oppose to the Park Hyatt Feeling. Its more contemporary now. My room had a view looking towards the Bay Bridge and city view (since I get the whirlpool room). Some other rooms have the view of Bay (like studio suites, deluxe rooms and suites with walkout balconies..etc). Its all nice view in my opinion, and btw, they replaced all the TV now, no more Small CRT TV and they also have a cool IPOD docking station in every room. The linens were crisp and the towels were fluffy but one thing I don't like about this property is the toiletries that they use - its the domestic Le Meridien "Grapefruit" scent toiletries with Verbena soap from Bath & Body works. Since they advertised "luxury" toilietries, I think they can use more "luxury" brands like the L'Occitane Verbena line that they used at the Le Royal Meridien Shanghai was one of my favorite brand/products!
The Gym: One of the nicest gym in town. They claimed to be open 24 hours but I was not able to use at 2am when I was not able to sleep one night, but no big deal, its nice and clean looking from the outside.
There's townecar service available on weekdays with advance reservation - a nice touch.
Overall, a good property with a reasonable price in SF area for a 4.5* hotel. This is truely a step-above other 4/ 4.5* properties in SF area. I think this is definitely better than the Omni or Hiltons, Marriotts. Its totally worth to give a try to give property and I certainly think this property should be recognized for its outstanding value / services.

This past weekend simply HAD to be one of the most gorgeous weekends SF has seen in a long time. I knew it was going to be a pretty day, but I had NO idea just how pretty.
A day playing tourist, an evening at The Punchline along with a stay at Le Meridien were in order.
Check-in is supposed to be at 3pm, but upon our arrival at 11am, they were able to accommodate us. Our room was located on the 7th floor.
The lobby is small, but nicely appointed. They have a bar that stays open until midnight which is nice (but in typical hotel fashion they charged me $5 for a bottle of Voss water). They also have a restaurant on-site, but we did not try it.
Upon entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised. Very nice! The room was nice sized and tastefully decorated. Kind of a modern spin, if you will. Our view wasn't perfection, but I could still see the bay and Bay Bridge and loved it . The bed was super comfy.
The bathroom was good sized and clean, but man, that magnifying mirror was a killer! That reminds me: I need to book a facial. Anyway .... I loved the corner floor-to-ceiling windows. We did not have a standing balcony, but it was nice that our sliding doors still opened all the way (just remember to close them before you venture out because the last thing you want to come back to is a couple of pigeons all hugged up on your down comforter).
We didn't seek out the help of the concierge nor did we order room service so I cannot comment on those aspects.
All in all, I give Le Meridien a big thumbs up and would definitely stay there again.
Oh, wait - before I forget. They charge $56 to park your car overnight which I think is just nuts so opt for BART if you don't absolutely need a car. The Embarcadero station is only a few blocks away and everything seems to be within walking distance (just don't attempt to walk from Pier 39 to the hotel wearing peep toe wedges no matter how cute they are). ;)

It's a "nice" hotel, but tragically, that is the best word to describe it.
The people at the desk and the concierge were "nice" but not extraordinary. The room was "nice" but nothing stood out about it. The nature sounds in the elevators were "nice" but didn't really enhance my stay, which I will also say of the lobby/lounge area and the bathroom fixtures, which exemplified the "Bold Look of Kohler" which isn't really bold, it's just "nice".

Dear Le Meridien,
You are a beautiful place. Thank you for the room with a view of the bay bridge.
But I do apologize for falling in the hallway between the elevators and my room at 2am and giggling and laughing with my sister. I'm sorry for puking out all the alcohol in your pretty bathroom after my sister and I got drunk at our birthday party. Your bathroom floor is cold -- it was heaven to my face when I passed out cold on it. I was, however, still able to enjoy your soft and fluffy beds when my sister dragged me by the arms from the bathroom.
I have to say, though -- that wall of yours in the room separating the hallway to the door from the main room --- can sure get in the way when running to the bathroom for an emergency vomit session while dizzy because I rammed straight into it. Either that or your wall jumped out in front of me to keep me from defiling your beautiful bathroom even more.
Your bathroom door, though, needs some work. it doesn't close like a door should so there's this huge slit where people in the room can take a peek of you nekkid in the bathtub. And also the smell of barf can sneak its way into the main room (among other unmentionable bodily excretions)
But other than that -- you were great. I'll come visit you again but next time I'll stay sober so i can enjoy it more.
Sincerely,
Anne

Stayed here after my 30th birthday party and had some friends over for a little while.
The service at the front desk was courteous and more than accommodating.
The view from the room was nice.
It was a nice place to stay here in SF after a long night.
Stayed here back when it was still calling itself the Park Hyatt. Phenomenal (and I know my hotels). Rooms are gorgeous and many have balconies. Service is first-class.
These guys consistently have their A-game going.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. It wasn't the greatest but it wasn't the worst. I would say above average. Under our AMEX program, we were upgraded to a suite and had 4pm late check-out but weren't offered any other additional amenities. Booo.
My only real complaint is that the rooms are dirty. The floor is clean for the most part but when I first entered the room and did my version of a fine toothed comb inspection, I noticed they didn't wipe down any of the tables, nor the entertainment center doors. There were fingerprints everywhere. Some of the bathroom toiletries like the body wash were missing and the body lotion was half used.
There was an unnecessary number of throw pillows on the bed (and you know they never wash those). I also didn't approve of the non-duveted comforter (which means it's RARELY, if ever cleaned; it has to be dry cleaned). I don't understand why some hotels don't use duvet covers. Anyway, needless to say, I didn't pull up the comforter all the way; I used the sheets.
But, the views were amazing from our room. Although, when you open up the window/door, there's only a short 4' rail separating you and a 500 foot fall and you can't lock the window - definitely suicide friendly but NOT kid friendly!
The highs: Fast elevator, room views, large rooms, welcoming and friendly concierge, drive though valet parking, festive holiday decor, close to holiday skating rink, tasty hot apple cider in the lobby.
The lows: Valet parking $50/night (up to 40 min wait on Sundays), valet parkers can be obnoxiously loud and try to herd you like cattle during busy hours, $12.95/day wi-fi charge, questionnable cleanliness, not enough walking distance attractions for twenty-somethings at least (major shopping, major restaurants, movie theatres, people watching, etc.)
Would I stay here again? Maybe not at this one because I never stay at the same hotel twice, but probably another one in a different locale.

I was delighted that Le Meridian was taking over the Park Hyatt and establishing itself in the Financial District of San Francisco.
The room was spectacular, with sweeping views including a fantastic perspective of the Transamerica Pyramid.
I've never had so much fun filling out the comment cards and writing complimentary letters to the management.
The service here is the best in town. Staff members are polite and courteous, and go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable and happy. Their attention to detail impressed me.
Our room was also equipped with a nice little sound system, which was perfect because I brought some of my favorite jazz CDs with me and played them for my girlfriend at the time.
In Paris, I had stayed several times at Le Meridien Etoile, which I would also rate at 5 stars
The brand and the quality has translated well across the Atlantic, and I must also give Le Meridien San Francisco the highest rating. Keep up the great work! :)

the 5 stars doesn't necessarily mean it's a 5-star hotel, just a 5-star rating (does that make sense?).
this hotel was nice, upscale, and wellllllll worth the money. i enjoyed the location of the hotel, the view from my room, and the nice room(s).
i've been in better hotels but for the money this is your best bet and i'd mos def stay here again.
the front desk was also very accomodating when we needed a ride to the airport.
love them!
ps. elevator music is kind of weird though =D
so I was very excited to stay here after reading the reviews, and knowing that everyone loved it here! We walked up to the front desk to check in, and the woman there was very nice...at first. She asked for my credit card and i.d., checked my id, looked at me and said, "Oh my gosh you look soooo young....and you're married!" I normally get this all the time which doesn't bug me, but the way she said it, sounded like she wanted to piss me off....anyways, as she proceeded to check me in she muttered, "Hmmm, third party," as if this wasn't allowed but she'll allow it anyway. This is because I always use priceline when I have to make last minute trips. Why did she care that I booked through a third party anyway? Watch out for the rude staff members at the front desk!
I got over it when I saw my room...It was very nice!! The bathroom floor and counters were lined with pretty marble, and a very nice shower/bath tub, along with an extending mirror! Very cool for us women!! The closet was big and included two bathrobes and a bag to put your dirty clothes in. The beds were such a lifesaver after walking around the city all day and being chased by a professional con artist (watch out for them too)! I haven't slept that good in a very long time!!!
There is a parking garage not too far from the hotel and is a ton cheaper than getting valet, which I think is close to 50 a night!!
Overall, my stay was pleasant and would recommend this to others!!

Had a great weekend stay here. Lobby area a bit dark and nothing special, but the service was very good. Room was very nice - not over-the-top, but classy and well-appointed. Great view of part of the bay and skyline.
Bed was AWESOME. So comfortable - one of the best in recent memory.
Bathroom product also very nice - no paper-wrapped waxy soaps here.
Extremely convenient for any thing downtown and for hitting the waterfront/Embarcadero. Literally steps to the Ferry Building. Nicer environs than staying further up in Union Square or, god forbid, on Market or south of Market (after all these years, still dank and dirty).
Definitely recommend it for a weekend in the City.
My absolute favorite hotel in SF. Stayed here a couple of nights for some 'alone' time after getting out of a long term relationship. Don't feel sorry for me or anything, i'm ok, but it was nice to stay in a posh hotel just to clear my mind and enjoy the city...by myself. The front desk staff was super nice and by the end of my stay they knew me by my first name.
Anyway, about the room, it was very spacious and modern and the bed was sooooooo comfortable (i slept really well), although i didn't care for all the throw pillows. I had this great view of the embarcadero and the bay bridge and it made me appreciate growing up and being in SF.
Staying at the hotel also gave me the chance to enjoy another thing that I haven't done in a while: Jogging along the embarcadero in the morning. Probably one of my most favorite things to do. And going to the farmers market on saturday morning...
Definitely would love to stay here again!

Scored a fabulous weekend rate here on hotels.com. We even got an upgrade to a higher floor and a corner room and the view was spectacular. I love the area, the service, the amenities and of course, the Heavenly bed. That is a MUST!!! I can just dive under the sheets and doze off the whole day. It was nice to have a couple couches to lounge around on too. We lived a very luxurious weekend and slept in on both days. I can't remember the last time I slept until noon but man, it sure felt good doing so here. The Heavenly bed is so appropriately named. The only knock I'd give was when the speakerphone in our room decided to go off at 3am for no apparent reason. That totally shocked our blissful sleep. We still haven't figured out how that happened. Maybe the room was haunted. Sigh.
Regardless, this is a fabulous hotel and I will gladly come back.

I just moved back to the Bay area after living in Atlanta for a couple years, and wanted to stay in the city for a couple days before going home to the East Bay..... so, I found a great rate at Le Meridien. It was a fantastic stay.. the rooms were nice, service was friendly and not pretentious like I thought it might be.. When I walked in the door to check in, I was greeted by name.
Oh, and the beds are really comfortable too. If I could, I'd move in! Nice late check out too (2pm)! I'm definitely going back. Next week, I think. ;)

We stayed here on a hotel employee rate (my husband works for a hotel in the same corporation.) We expected a decent room, but we got upgraded to a beautiful suite. Nice view of the Bay Bridge from the whirlpool tub (not that I'd ever use one of those in a hotel--icky, ickyl!)
The staff here really make the place. The concierge employees never stop! They made dinner reservations for us on Saturday, and they offered the house car, even though they knew at that point we were lowly pond scum here on the discounted rate. Michael, our driver, was a super guy.
This was a great location for us, since we didn't have a car this trip, and were able to walk from the BART stop to the hotel, and use the buses and trolley to get around all weekend. Really quiet neighborhood on the weekends, other than the fire department sirens from the fire house around the corner. There's a pub across the street, and a Starbucks, but a lot of the other businesses, like the London Wine Bar, are only open Monday-Friday.
Since I gave Westin St Francis 4 stars, I have to give this one 5. It's a very nice hotel with modern amenities which I love and has a really big closet & bathroom. The bathroom had a standup shower and a bathtub. It was like the W, but better in that everything in the room was functional and practical. Also, the service was excellent and the location was very convenient. Staying here made the weekend visit even more wonderful.

Cost: $400 per night (fall corporate rate)
The hotel is appointed very well. Everything about it exudes luxury and taste. The hotel staff was very courteous and accomodating. They even had a live person performing the wake-up calls. Everything was fine until I got in bed after a very long day at the office. I decided to unwind by watching some TV, which was set a bit low so that half the screen was cut-off from view when I laid down and then I had to raise the clicker and point it down to get the thing to work, yeah I know I'm a lazy ass but isn't that part of being at a fancy schmancy hotel?
Time to hit the head one last time before I hit the hay. I walk through the door and notice something is not right about the bathroom door. It's the sliding door variety than seems to be all the rage at snooty hotels, but something's different about this one. It's placed on the outside of the bathroom and its not flush against the wall. In fact, there's a freaking two inch gap between the wall and the door on one end! Whatever, I'm by myself, but that's got to be kind of uncomfortable if you're entertaining.
"Beep, beep, beep...huh?...it's still dark...WTF?!" The floor-to-ceiling windows, while great for viewing, let in an unacceptable amount of street noise. In fact, I was woken up every morning at an ungodly hour despite the superb heavenly bed. $400 bucks a night is supposedly a deal for this hotel, but it's too much if I (or my guests) cannot use the bathroom or get a good night's rest. If you're staying here, at least get a room that's higher than the 5th floor.
The Park Grill is a great place for breakfast meetings. Order the banana macadamian nut pan cakes. I also like the salads at lunch.

Haven't stayed in one of the rooms yet. I went here for a meeting in one of the rooms. The breakfast was bland but good. The OJ was room temp. and had a funky taste and smell to it. The wait staff was very nice and they were quick to clear the used dishes. They kept an eye on the drink and food and made sure it was well stocked at all times.
You should see my review of their lobby bar! Bar 333: http://www.yelp.com/bi...
And, if you're lucky, the view of the bay from the bathtub.
The room was fantastic, bed cushy and room service was incredible. I will stay here again!
Edited on 8.13.07: You have to see the pictures I just uploaded! It was such a gorgeous day in SF that I got a sunburn while lounging on our outdoor balcony. The balconys are protected by the financial district buildings and don't get blasted by the wind and fog so they are actually useable! Plus, the hotel has a myspace page! So cool! http://www.myspace.com...
Edited 10.24.07: Just had lunch at the Park Grill, their restaurant upstairs. I had the caesar salad with crabmeat and the alderberry flower spritzer of the day. It was so refreshing, I said it tasted like being at the spa. Not that i've tasted a spa...anyway, the salad was all chopped and tossed the crab was perfectly fresh. Yummy olive tapenade with crusty bread to start. It was definitely a power hour lunch.
My company hosted its quarterly sales meeting here this week. It was a great venue -- right around the corner from our office and the food was actually pretty good. Unfortunately the conference rooms were in the basement so we didn't have any phone reception (but that was probably the point).
I loved the fresh berries selection every morning. OH and the creme brulee and fresh fruit tart were divine! Plus, they offer Mighty Tea Leaf and Voss bottled water which are some of my favorites!

Le Meridien has been opened for months but they just hosted their grand opening event last night and it was simply out-of-this-world! The event is beyond words and I'm still having food coma.
My friend was frantically calling and texting me during dinner time however, bf and I were having dinner with two other friends. I didn't want to be rude and kept ignoring the calls. However, when I checked my voicemail, my friend said, no matter what, I had to get my hiney over to 333 Battery to check out Le Meridien and THE GRAND OPENING party, it will be THE ultimate event and I can yelp abt it. :)
So there I was.....
As I entered the entrance to the hotel, my friend was standing at the door holding out 3 tiny plates of one of the best tuna sashimi which was saved for me! Tuna sashimi laced with bits of gold paper and tiny strips of ginger, it was soooooooo good and practically melted in my mouth. Mind you, I came from dinner at Firenze but the food here at Le Meridien is too good to be missed....
The lobby level was filled with tables of chocolates and liquored martinis on one side. And on the opposite side were multi-tiered shelves of tiny glasses of dessert; mango chunks, passionfruit like drink, tiny berries on a skewer perched ontop a tiny glass of vanilla-like fondue substance and pistachio cakes and lemon fruit tarts. I guess a lof of the good stuffs were gone since I arrived at 10pm.
My friend whisked me upstairs and delightfully showed me the different offerings....second level featured huge chunks of scallops grilled on a high-tech grill aside the roast beef cutlets. On one side of the wall, were dessert trays again...
Then on the third floor, HEAVEN! There was a section of kobe beef burger and kobe beef carpaccio! How much do these things costs?!! They were soooooooo delicious and amazing flavor! There were also shrimps on skewers but they were considered ordinary food as everything else was extravagant and over the top! We moved on to see the WHOLE Pacific tuna which was abt 6 feet long being expertly carved up by sushi chefs and served on salt bricks with shaved white truffles in my friend's exact words! Ma Ma Mia!!
My friend had the wonderful time of savoring the best parts, o-toro and chu toro! Apparently, I've learned the same night that the hierarchy is as follows: otoro is the most prized form of toro, and chutoro (or chu-toro) is the second-most prized form of toro.
Then we moved on to the center which featured lobster soup and clam soup. The lobster together with several condiments were packaged in individualized packets and were reheated in the cookery and was then poured out to tiny wooden bowls for serving! It was outrageous, there was a huge chunk of lobster within the broth and unbelievably flavorful.
At this point, I was stuffed and we decided to venture back down to the lobby level to savor the desserts...I tried the chocolate martini which was delectable together with all the tiny glasses of desserts.
Truly a remarkable and memorable experience...A totally orgasmic experience that is beyond words. Insane amount of money and over the top everything which is indeed "GRAND" in its own way! I'll have to come back to check out the lounge and restaurant on a regular day. :) For now, this is a an A+++++, 10 stars event! So apparently what I missed from the night are: Chutoro tuna and delicious sizzling Kobe beef skewers lightly toasted over charcoal for extra flavor. Ok, that ain't bad since I tried EVERYTHING else. :)
Now....., who was the annoying friend that was calling me during dinner time? I beg to differ and shall never neglect your calls again! I almost missed out.

I am yelping away even as I continue my stay here at the Park Hyatt.
After staying at the Hyatt Regency a couple of times, I switched to the Park Hyatt--better rooms and great front desk and concierge service. Pricier though.
I left the power cord for my laptop back in New York today, but the concierge was quick to find a replacement--very timely as my Thinkpad was running out of juice after doing its time on the plane ride.
The room service is nothing to rave about, but above-average at the least. And the beds are very comfortable.
This place is halfway between the Hyatt Regency and a W.

Awesome hotel...although I live in the city, my girlfriend and I decided to have a local getaway weekend last summer and chose the Le Meridian.
We were upgraded to a gorgeous suite and I'd have to say that the decor and the amenities were unbelievable. If I were a business or leisure traveler, this would be my hotel of choice in SF.
GET THE PANCAKES!
I had the griddlecakes at the Meridien restaurant. They were lemon-blueberry and they hold the title of best pancakes I've ever had. I got bacon as a side. It, too was amazing. It was like 1/4 inch thick.
Yes I was in town. No thanks to anyone there. After being lost and dealing with Yoda Tom Tom giving directions and ending up at the Intercontinental. Whoops Wrong Hotel. Le Meridian was a sight for sore eyes. Ok so it's not Vegas. It's a nice hotel, very clean, and the staff was hospitable. Just really hard for someone to come from a 24 hr town - to a town with hours and limits. Of course what's funny is they're not used to having people tip well. Ok so my friend told me people don't tip well usually 1-3 dollars and if they get a 50% tip then they did good. Well wtf....Being in the service industry you learn to tip. Because dealing with asses like me or you is not the easiest thing. I liked this hotel because it was quiet and people were overall friendly. What sucks....55 dollar parking. What the hell is that? That's as much as a full tank of gas. Plus Occupancy tax? Wow...ok so this city wasn't the
