    FANTASTIC!!!

This is the place to go for a light breakfast or a delicious lunch.

I, personally, cannot stay away from their vegetarian panini with turkey added to it (what can I say...I love me some meat). It has an amazing herb rich taste and has the perfect amount of cheese. They also make some of the best drinks on the Ave. (local lingo for Burlingame Ave.). If you can rip yourself away from Starbucks, you will be doing yourself a favor. Just try their chai lattes. Pure deliciousness and caffeine courses through my veins with this sweet drink. OR... if you are a child in an adult body, like me, you should try the hot chocolate with whipped cream. It isn't too chocolaty like most. It is just smooth and creamy.

This place seems to close pretty early, but it's best early in the morning as a good way to wake yourself up and start your day.

I used to come here all the time after school!
Leanne and Calvin are great! Without you guys, I wouldn't have had panini sandwiches almost everyday :)

Fro-yo girl here.  I saw the banner that said now serving frozen yogurt and I just had to stop even though I had another fro-yo shop picked out to visit that day.  They have one fro-yo machine and two tart flavors a day.  It's not self-serve.

    Flavors of the day:
    * Plain tart - milky/cream flavor, average tartness, lighter and icier than the blueberry tart, somewhat clumpy
    * Blueberry tart - strong blueberry flavor, sweet aftertaste, nice tangy quality.  The texture was thick, soft and creamy.  I recommend the blueberry over the plain tart.

The owner (manager?) favors their mango tart flavor. I asked about toppings but they didn't have any.  I mean none whatsoever - yet they have a price for fruit toppings so I assume that they do sometimes have toppings or at least plan to in the future.

Prices:  Small ($2.95)/ Medium ($3.75)/Large ($4.75)/ fresh fruit toppings: $1.50/ Yogurt shake $4.50

The café (which is basically a coffee house) sells coffee drinks (hot and cold, Peerless coffee), sandwiches (teriyaki chicken sandwich sounded interesting), bagels, soup, smoothies and pastries.  The décor is European café inspired with terracotta walls and European posters.

You know you love me.  X0 X0, fro-yo girl.

    Solid four star experience.

I came here after getting my back adjusted for breakfast...how strange, because as someone who is *apparently* anorexic I was feeling hungry. I knew we didn't have enough time for a sit down meal, so I opted for Le Croissant Cafe instead, somewhere close to my work.

The place was spotless. I mean, literally...just spotless. It was kinda weird. And I say that in the nicest way possible (stainless steel...everywhere). So I stood in line and ordered a croissant brekkie sandwich and a brekkie burrito with a coffee and tea for $17.15. WTF. I mean...COME ON. That's a bit steep. Then I realise that I'm living in the rich suburbs and curse my parents for their decision to move here and that despite how much money THEY have I'm constantly being reminded that I DON'T HAVE ANY.

That being said, their food was strangely delicious. He got my order right, and even though it took a little while to get everything ordered and paid for, it was overall a good experience. Maybe I'll come back for hangover breakfast on a weekend morning/afternoon/maybe evening if I didn't sleep at all the night before.

This cafe offers good panninis, good coffee & really good service.

The reason behind 3 stars, not 5?

My friend has a very, very restricted diet. We went in and got smoothies and she asked very specifically if they added anything but fruit and ice to the smoothies. We were told no, so when she got sick later in the day, we assumed it was something in lunch, not the smoothies. When I went back, I asked the same young man if there was any honey, milk, etc added to the smoothies, and was again told no.

I then watched him pour milk AND honey into the blender with my fruit and ice. Ummmm... WHAT?!?

Seriously, I don't care for myself, but what if my gal pal were seriously allergic instead of just mildly intolerant? These guys need to have full knowledge/honestly regarding what goes into the foods they serve.

Name of restaurant sounds French? Yes.
    Restaurant serves frozen yogurt? Yes.
Owners are of Asian descent? Probably.

Unfortunately they were closed on the 26th for the holidays, I'll be back to try it soon though.

At first, I was a bit dismayed to discover that this place was the reason "House of Coffee" had gone out of business.  There was something refreshing and remarkable about an independent cafe's endurance, in the midst of big chain, mainstream Burlingame Avenue, complete with Starbuck's, Peet's and numerous other options for espresso drinks.

But... after hearing rave reviews by the owner of  "All that Glitters" down the street on Primrose Avenue, I couldn't resist the urge to try something new (and presumably delicious! *there's still another House of Coffee on nearby Howard Avenue).

I stepped in for a late lunch and was immediately drawn to their panini menu (though the pastries on their counter top were major distractions).

They still have the good ol' cold-coffee-freeze-drink machine thingy (???) which is a huge hit with local regulars of the previous owners (that's almost enough for a fourth star in this review - almost).  I stuck with my staple, iced mocha, no whip thank you very much, and was pleasantly surprised - it didn't taste watered down, but rather rich and it had the perfect amount of chocolate!

The veggie panini was incredibly flavorful with the loveliest roasted veggie flavors.  mmmm.  OK, I think I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow...again.  Also, though I don't like pickles, they had the cutest baby pickles as a side dish for my panini (everyone knows cuteness plays a big part in enhancing flavors - or is that just me and my stomach talking).

Excellent customer service.  Great menu choices (drinks, sandwiches and counter top goodies).  They also have a great array of loose leaf teas which I'll be sure to sample in the next month.

I wish they had later business hours - I could have some serious dinner and desserts here.

For an affordable and delicious breakfast or lunch in Burlingame, Le Croissant is the place to go. As anyone who works down here knows, B'lame is the land of the $12 lunch, which is why you find most of the locals eating at "Calvin's" (aka Le Croissant)

Mornings at Le Croissant $7 for a hot drink & food.
Coffee - 5 selections, Chai - unsweetened, Teas - loose and strong. Burritos and breakfast sandwiches will do you right, freshly made, quality ingredients.

    Afternoons at Le Croissant = $9 for a sand/salad + drink
The Foccacia bread chicken sandiwsh w sundried tomatoes & the Chicken Salad are some of my favorite items there. Sandwiches come with pickles & chips.

The food is surprisingly gourmet for a local cafe, high-quality ingredients and personal service. Calvin will always remember you!!

    Service - quality, not fast.

best chai ever. well, in the burlingame-san mateo area that i've found anyway. its not a syrup like starbucks which leaves this weird, kinda nasty taste in your mouth. and its not a premade mix that comes in what resembles a soy milk box. its actualy TEA! yeah.
i also enjoy their lox begel. one star off for the price but it IS bgame ave, have to pity them for all the rent they must pay.
also, owner is really nice and always remembers my order: chai latte w soy. :)

Freshest sandwhiches, best coffee and delicious croissants.  I haved lived in Europe and they are just like those in Paris.  Wonderful owners. Truy a gem. Try it for lunch and you won't be dissapointed. The turkey wrap is my favorite.  They roast the turkey themselves. Bon Appetite!
